abh bhi aati hai sakina ki sadain logon, hy zindaano say

Even now, O people, Sakina's (as) cries still echo from within the dungeons

meray baba ko mila do, main duaain dun gi

siskian lay kai jo kehti thi musalmano say

Please reunite me with my father [Husayn (as)], and I will bless you with my prayers!

These were the words she (Sakina (as)) used to cry out to the people, through her sobs…

Even now, O people, Sakina's (as) cries still echo from within the dungeons

bolay sajjad sakina, yeh muqadaar tera

bay watan tujh ko liye phirta hun bazaron main

aur lahu aaj bhi jaari hain teray kaano say

Sajjad (as) then said to Sakina (as), "This is our shared destiny!"

"I carry you, homeless, through these marketplaces…"

"And blood still flows today from your ears [from when your earrings were torn out]!"

Even now, O people, Sakina's (as) cries still echo from within the dungeons

ja kai maqtal main pukaari, yeh sakina roo kaar

bhaiya qasim meray akber tum kahan ho saare

meray baba ko bacha lo, aakai shaitanon say

Going to the battlefield, Sakina (as) cried out, weeping heavily…

"Oh, my brother Qasim (as)! My Akbar (as)! Where are all of you?!"

"Please come and save my father (Husayn (as)) from these devils!"

labay dariya say alamdar ki aayi yeh saada

ay sakina tujh sai shaarminda hain chacha tera

paani phoncha na saka haye katay shaano say

From the riverbank, a voice came, that of the flag bearer, Abbas (as)!

"Oh Sakina (as)! Your uncle (Abbas (as)) is filled with shame towards you…"

"Alas, I could not deliver water [to you] with my severed arms!"
