Aye karbala Hussain ke gham ko na bhulaana

Added 2026-06-20

aye karbala hussain ke gham ko na bhulana,

zayar jo mere aaye'n to palko pe bithana.

Oh Karbala, never forget the grief of Husayn (as)!

When my pilgrims come, receive them with the highest honor.

jab shaame ghareeba'n ka andhera nazar aaye,

maqtal me meri laash barehna nazar aaye,

in ret ke zarro'n ko kafan mera banana.

When the darkness of the Evening of the Strangers appears

and my body is seen lying bare on the battlefield

then let these grains of sand be my shroud.

soya hai teri god me bano ka gul-e-tar,

chehh maah ka sinn hai usey masoom samajh kar,

ek maa ki tarah loriya'n de de ke sulaana.

Banu's (as) tender flower [Ali Asghar (as)] sleeps in your lap

He is only six months old; treat him with the innocence he deserves.

Like a mother, sing him lullabies and let him rest.

har daur me chehlum k liey chhod k ghar baar,

gurbat pe meri aaye'n jo rone ko azadar,

aankho'n se jo dekha hai wo sab unko batana.

In every era, when devotees leave their homes

and come to mourn my loneliness and suffering

tell them everything you have witnessed with your own eyes.

seene pe mere soti thi jo phool si bachchi,

kya jaane wo kya hoti hai duniya me yateemi,

ban jayegi kal se wo tamacho'n ka nishana.

The child, like a flower, who used to sleep on my chest

how could she ever know what it means to be an orphan in this world?

From tomorrow, she will become a target for cruel slaps.

zainab meri haalaat se majboor bahot hai,

wo khud ko samete hai magar choor bahot hai,

aur uspe sitam ye ke abhi shaam hai jana.

My Zaynab (as) is so helpless due to my state

She tries to compose herself, but she is utterly shattered.

And the ultimate cruelty is that she still has to journey to Shaam (Syria).

aye karbobala so ke uthe jab mera abbas,

kehna ki tere baad haram ho gaye be-aas,

ab shaam ke zindaan me hai unka thikaana

Oh Karbala, when my Abbas (as) awakens from his sleep

tell him that after him, the sacred women [of my family] have lost all hope and support.

Their abode is now the prison of Shaam.

bhaiyya meri gurbat ke tarafdaar hain dono

moshi ho'n k nayab azadar hain dono,

abbas inhe garmiye mehshar se bachana

Oh Brother [Abbas (as)], these two are supporters of my suffering

whether they are Moshi or Nayab, both are my mourners.

Abbas (as), save them from the heat of Judgment Day!
