hai waqt-e-azaan aa ali akbar azaan de
It's time for the call to prayer, come Ali Akbar (as), give the adhan!
bole pisar se sibte-e-payambar azaan de
The grandson of the Prophet (pbuh) [Imam Husayn (as)] said to his son, "Give the adhan!"

It's time for the call to prayer, come Ali Akbar (as), give the adhan!
ye aakhri azaan hai sajda bhi aakhri
arsh-e-bari pe sunte hai, haider azaan de
This is the last adhan, and the prostration will be the last as well!
Those upon the highest heavens are listening—O son of Haider, give the adhan
hai waqt-e-azaan aa ali akbar azaan de
It's time for the call to prayer, come Ali Akbar (as), give the adhan!
thandak milay rasool ke rauze pe mere laal
ek aag si hai seene ke, andar azaan de
May some coolness and comfort reach the resting place of the Messenger (pbuh) through you, my son.
For there is a fire burning inside my chest, give the adhan!
hai waqt-e-azaan aa ali akbar azaan de
It's time for the call to prayer, come Ali Akbar (as), give the adhan!
naam-e-khuda rasool ka baakhi rahega deen
is deen ki baqa ke, muqaddar azaan de
By God's name, the religion of the Prophet (pbuh) will endure!
For the sake of this religion's survival, give the fated adhan!

kehti hai ye madine se aati hui hawa
sughra bhi muntazir hai, biradar azaan de
The wind blowing from Medina whispers this:
"Sughra (as) is also waiting, oh brother, give the adhan!"

jiska gala nabi kai labon ki ho janamaaz
phir wo gala na kyon tah-e, khanjar azaan de
The throat that has been like a prayer mat for the Prophet's (pbuh) lips
Why should that throat not give the adhan beneath the dagger?

chalte hai teer kitne namazi hai khoon may tar
ay mere laal saabr se, sehkar azaan de
So many arrows are flying, the worshippers are drenched in blood…
Oh my dear son, bear it with patience and give the adhan!
