In this chaos, the granddaughter of the Prophet (pbuh) has been paraded from place to place!

If only I could get a veil… that is my only prayer in this cruel marketplace!

My brother, Abbas (as), keeps coming to my mind again and again!

The enemies know that I am the sister of Ghazi, Abbas (as)!

That Ghazi (Abbas (as)) is without hands, and I am bound by ropes!

What will I go and tell the ailing ones in Medina?!

There is no one left to bear the grief of our hearts in this cruel marketplace!

bazare sitam may tha zainab ka ajab aalam

mazhar mai likhoo kaise zalim ne kaha jis dam

hai kaun tera waris zainab ne kaha koi nai bazare jafa

In that marketplace of oppression, Zaynab's (as) state was truly astonishing [in its grief]!

Oh Mazhar [the poet], how can I even write about the moment when the oppressor said…

…'Who is your protector here?!' Zaynab (as) replied, 'There is no one left in this cruel marketplace!'
