GATHDI MEN LAASH RAKHKHI HO LAIKIN KAFAN NA HO

May a body never be bundled up, yet still have no shroud!

BEWAA HASAN KI KEHTI THI QAASIM KI LAASH PAR

BETAA KISI KAA IS TARHAA MAAN SE JUDAA NA HO

Hassan's (as) widow [Umm-e-Farwah], cried over Qasim's (as) body, saying:

May no son ever be separated from his mother in such a way!

JIS TARHA TUKDE LAASHA-E QAASIM KE HO GAYE

PAAMAAL YUN JAHAAN ME LAASHAA KOI NA HO

The way Qasim's (as) body was torn into pieces…

May no body in the world ever be trampled like that!

GHURBAT ME YAA KHUDAA KOI SADMAA MILAA NA HO

PARDES ME KISI SE YUN BETAA JUDAA NA HO

In this land of strangers, oh God, may no one suffer such a calamity!

In a foreign land, may no son be separated from anyone like this!

LUTAA GAYAA HAI JIS TARHAA GULSHAN RASUL KAA

YAA RAB TABAAH IS TARHAA KOI CHAMAN NA HO

The way the garden of the Prophet (pbuh) was plundered…

Oh Lord, may no garden ever be ruined like that!

JIS TARHAA BE WATAN HUWAA KUNBAA BATUL KAA

KUNBAA KISI GHAREEB KAA YUN BEWATAN NA HO

The way the family of Batool (as) [Fatima (as)] became homeless…

May no poor family ever be made homeless like that!

SARDAAR-E AMBIYAA KE NAWAASE KE WAASTE

UMMAT KE PAAS DENE KO DO GAZ KAFAN NA HO

For the grandson of the Chief of all Prophets (pbuh) [Husayn (as)]…

May the Ummah [Muslim community] never lack two yards of shroud to offer!

SAB KO LAHAD NASEEB HO SAB KO KAFAN MILE

AFSOS DAFN LAASHA-E SHAAHE ZAMAN NA HO

May everyone be blessed with a grave, may everyone receive a shroud!

What a sorrow that the body of the King of the Age [Husayn (as)] was not buried!
