Abbas Kahan Ho

Added 2026-07-05 by AA

bazaar mein binte ali deti thi sada bhai

abbas kahan ho

sar par bhi nahi chadar laakhon hai tamashayi

abbas kahan ho

In the marketplace, Ali's (as) daughter [Zaynab (as)] was crying out, "Brother!"

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"

I have no veil on my head, and there are millions of onlookers!

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"

is aalam-e-ghurbat mein koi bhi nahi mera

hai khaak-e-safar sar par aur haat rasan basta

pardes mein zainab ko taqdeer kahan laayi

abbas kahan ho

In this state of utter helplessness and foreignness, I have no one!

The dust of the journey covers my head, and my hands are tied with ropes!

To this foreign land, where has destiny brought Zaynab (as)?!

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"

paywast hai naize mein sar shaahe shaheedan ka

ye dekh ke ay ghazi phat-ta hai mera seena

mar jayegi is gham mein shabbir ki maajayi

abbas kahan ho

The head of the King of Martyrs, Husayn (as), is impaled upon a spear!

Seeing this, oh brave one [Abbas (as)], my heart is tearing apart!

In this grief, the sister of Husayn (as) will surely die!

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"

darya ke kanare tum aada se gaye ladne

sab dekh rahi thi mai darwazaye qaima se

ab jang hamari bhi dekho to zara bhai

abbas kahan ho

By the riverbank, you went to fight the enemies…

I was watching everything from the tent's entrance!

Now, please, brother, come see our battle too!

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"

dunya ka sahara hai baba jo hamara hai

mushkil mein magar maine tumko hi pukara hai

ab dhoondti hai tumko bhaiya meri beenayi

abbas kahan ho

My father, Ali (as), is the support of the world…

But in this hardship, I have called only upon you!

Now, brother, my sight searches only for you!

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"

ay sher-e-jari meri imdad ko aajao

maanga hai kaneezi mein zaalim ne sakina ko

hai waqt qayamat ka masoom hai ghabrayi

abbas kahan ho

Oh brave lion, come to my aid now!

The oppressor has demanded Sakina (as) as a slave girl!

This is the time of judgment, and the innocent child is terrified!

"Abbas (as), where are you?!"
