Utho Sakina chalein Karbala
added by MJ
Keeping screen awake…
Zindan se jab riha hue sadate karbala
When the noble family of Karbala [the Ahlul Bayt (as)] were finally freed from prison…
Haye maa ne lipat ke qabre sakina pe di sada
Oh, how the mother [Zaynab (as)] threw herself over Sakina's (as) grave and cried out!
Utho sakina chale karbala
"Rise, Sakina (as), we are going back to Karbala!"
Choti si turbat pe maa ne kaha
At the small grave, the mother said…
Zindan se jata hai ab qaafila
"The caravan is now leaving this prison behind!"
Mujhe shahzadi tumhari qasam
Na rakhungi zindan se bahir qadam
Safar ki ab hoti hain taiyarian
Amari mein behte hain ahle haram
Ghurbat ka meri tumhe wasta
"I swear by you, my princess [Sakina (as)]…"
"I will not take a single step outside this prison [without you]!"
"The preparations for the journey are now being made…"
"The women of the household [Ahlul Bayt (as)] weep inside the covered litters…"
"I beg you, by the loneliness I carry…"
Woh pehle ke jaisi toh ghurbat nahi
Aye bibi hamari woh halat nahi
Tumhe shamiyon se ab aye meri jaan
Kafan maagne ki zaroorat nahi
Lo mil gayi hai tumhari rida
"This loneliness is not what it used to be before…"
"Oh our Lady [Zaynab (as)], our condition is not what it once was!"
"Oh my dear [Sakina (as)], now you have nothing more to fear from the people of Syria…"
"There is no longer any need to beg them for a burial shroud!"
"Here, your shroud has finally been found!"
Mujhe yaad asghar ki hai bekasi
Lehad se woh maiyat nikali gayi
Akele mein rehna na doongi tumhe
Bharosa nahi shamiyon ka koi
Rehte hain chaaron taraf ashqiya
"I keep thinking of the helplessness of Ali Asghar (as)…"
"[His body] was pulled from the grave…"
"I will not let you stay alone…"
"There is no trusting the people of Syria…"
"Enemies surround us on all sides!"
Yeh shaami kahan tumko behlaenge
Tumhari lahad par nahi aayenge
Rahega andhera hi zindan mein
Haram jab yahan se chale jaaenge
Kon aayega phir jalane diya
"These Syrians, will they ever come to console you?"
"They will not come to your grave…"
"This prison will remain in darkness…"
"Once the sacred family [Ahlul Bayt (as)] leaves this place…"
"Who will come to light a lamp [at your grave] again?"
Kahani padar ki sunaongi mein
Agar neend aaye sulaongi mein
Akele na naaqe pe behtogi tum
Tumhay saath apne bithaogi mein
Ab toh rasan mein na hoga gala
"I will tell you stories of your father [Husayn (as)]…"
"And if sleep comes to you, I will gently put you to rest…"
"You will not ride the camel alone…"
"I will seat you right beside me!"
"Now at least your throat will not be bound by ropes…"
Mujhe maar daale ga bas yehi gham
Kamar mein hai beti tumhari joh kham
Waram bazuon ka mujhe yaad hai
Tumhe toh dikhai bhi deta hai kam
Akbar se Bibi milegi shifa
"This grief alone will be the end of me…"
"My daughter, the bend that is in your back [from the chains]…"
"I remember the swelling on your arms…"
"And your vision has grown so weak…"
"Through [intercession of] Akbar (as) [Ali Akbar (as)], Lady [Zaynab (as)], healing will come!"
Barhi der Terhi hain darbar mein
Yahan par na roko ziyada unhe
Ke ek haath pehlu Pe rakhe hue
Sada de rahi hain sakina tumhe
Lene ko aayi hain khud saiyeda
"She [Zaynab (as)] has stood for so long, bent in the court [of Yazeed]…"
"Do not keep her [Zaynab (as)] here any longer!"
"She stands with one hand pressed to her side [in pain]…"
"Sakina (as) is calling out to you!"
"The Lady herself [Zaynab (as)] has come to take you [home]!"
