بِسْمِ
-
23:1
قَ
دْ أَفْلَحَٱ لْمُؤْمِنُو نَ ١Qad aflaha almu/minoon
Certainly, the faithful have attained salvationAli Quli Qarai
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:Saheeh International
-
23:2
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَ
ٰ شِعُو نَ ٢Allatheena hum fee salatihimkhashiAAoon
—those who are humble in their prayers,Ali Quli Qarai
They who are during their prayer humbly intentSaheeh International
-
23:3
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِٱ ل لَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُو نَ ٣Wallatheena hum AAani allaghwimuAAridoon
avoid vain talk,Ali Quli Qarai
And they who turn away from ill speechSaheeh International
-
23:4
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَو ٰ ةِ فَٰ عِلُو نَ ٤Wallatheena hum lizzakatifaAAiloon
carry out their [duty of] zakat,Ali Quli Qarai
And they who are observant of zakāhSaheeh International
-
23:5
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰ فِظُو نَ ٥Wallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoon
guard their private parts,Ali Quli Qarai
And they who guard their private partsSaheeh International
-
23:6
إِلَّا عَلَ
ىٰٓ أَزْوَٰ جِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰ نُهُمْ فَإِنّ َهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِي نَ ٦Illa AAala azwajihim awma malakat aymanuhum fa-innahum ghayru maloomeen
(except from their spouses or their slave women, for then they are not blameworthy;Ali Quli Qarai
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed -Saheeh International
-
23:7
فَمَنِ
ٱ بْ تَغَىٰ وَرَا ٓءَ ذَٰ لِكَ فَأُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ هُمُٱ لْعَادُو نَ ٧Famani ibtagha waraa thalikafaola-ika humu alAAadoon
but whoever seeks [anything] beyond that—it is they who are transgressors),Ali Quli Qarai
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors -Saheeh International
-
23:8
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰ نَٰ تِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰ عُو نَ ٨Wallatheena hum li-amanatihimwaAAahdihim raAAoon
and those who keep their trusts and covenantsAli Quli Qarai
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentiveSaheeh International
-
23:9
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰ تِهِمْ يُحَافِظُو نَ ٩Wallatheena hum AAala salawatihimyuhafithoon
and are watchful of their prayers.Ali Quli Qarai
And they who carefully maintain their prayers -Saheeh International
-
23:10
أُ
و۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ هُمُٱ لْوَٰ رِثُو نَ ١٠Ola-ika humu alwarithoon
It is they who will be the inheritors,Ali Quli Qarai
Those are the inheritorsSaheeh International
-
23:11
ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ
ٱ لْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰ لِدُو نَ ١١Allatheena yarithoona alfirdawsa humfeeha khalidoon
who shall inherit paradise and will remain in it [forever].Ali Quli Qarai
Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally.Saheeh International

23:12
وَلَقَ
دْ خَلَقْ نَاٱ لْإِنس َٰ نَ مِن س ُلَٰ لَةٍ ۢم ِّن ط ِي نٍۢ ١٢Walaqad khalaqna al-insana minsulalatin min teen
Certainly We created man from an extract of clay.Ali Quli Qarai
And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.Saheeh International
-
23:13
ثُ
مّ َ جَعَلْنَٰ هُ نُطْ فَةً ۭف ِى قَرَارٍ ۢم َّكِي نٍۢ ١٣Thumma jaAAalnahu nutfatan feeqararin makeen
Then We made him a drop of [seminal] fluid [lodged] in a secure abode.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging [i.e., the womb].Saheeh International
-
23:14
ثُ
مّ َ خَلَقْ نَاٱ ل نّ ُطْ فَةَ عَلَقَةً ۭف َخَلَقْ نَاٱ لْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً ۭف َخَلَقْ نَاٱ لْمُضْغَةَ عِظَٰ مً ۭا ف َكَسَوْنَاٱ لْعِظَٰ مَ لَحْمً ۭا ث ُمّ َ أَنش َأْنَٰ هُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَٱ للَّهُ أَحْسَنُٱ لْخَٰ لِقِي نَ ١٤Thumma khalaqna annutfataAAalaqatan fakhalaqna alAAalaqata mudghatanfakhalaqna almudghata AAithamanfakasawna alAAithama lahmanthumma ansha/nahu khalqan akhara fatabarakaAllahu ahsanu alkhaliqeen
Then We created the drop of fluid as a clinging mass. Then We created the clinging mass as a fleshy tissue. Then We created the fleshy tissue as bones. Then We clothed the bones with flesh. Then We produced him as [yet] another creature. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators!Ali Quli Qarai
Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allāh, the best of creators.Saheeh International

23:15
ثُ
مّ َ إِنّ َكُم ب َعْدَ ذَٰ لِكَ لَمَيِّتُو نَ ١٥Thumma innakum baAAda thalikalamayyitoon
Then indeed you die after that.Ali Quli Qarai
Then indeed, after that you are to die.Saheeh International
-
23:16
ثُ
مّ َ إِنّ َكُمْ يَوْمَٱ لْقِيَٰ مَةِ تُبْ عَثُو نَ ١٦Thumma innakum yawma alqiyamatitubAAathoon
Then you will indeed be raised up on the Day of Resurrection.Ali Quli Qarai
Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected.Saheeh International
-
23:17
وَلَقَ
دْ خَلَقْ نَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْ عَ طَرَا ٓئِقَ وَمَا كُنّ َا عَنِٱ لْخَلْقِ غَٰ فِلِي نَ ١٧Walaqad khalaqna fawqakum sabAAa tara-iqawama kunna AAani alkhalqi ghafileen
Certainly We created above you seven levels and We have not been oblivious of the creation.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware.Saheeh International
-
23:18
وَأَ
نز َلْنَا مِنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ مَا ٓءًۢ ب ِقَدَرٍ ۢف َأَسْكَنّ َٰ هُ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنّ َا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ ب ِهِۦ لَقَٰ دِرُو نَ ١٨Waanzalna mina assama-imaan biqadarin faaskannahu fee al-ardiwa-inna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroon
We sent down water from the sky in a measured manner, and We lodged it within the ground, and We are indeed able to take it away.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away.Saheeh International
-
23:19
فَأَ
نش َأْنَا لَكُم ب ِهِۦ جَنّ َٰ تٍ ۢم ِّن ن َّخِيلٍ ۢو َأَعْنَٰ بٍ ۢل َّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰ كِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ ۭو َمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُو نَ ١٩Faansha/na lakum bihi jannatinmin nakheelin waaAAnabin lakum feeha fawakihukatheeratun waminha ta/kuloon
Then with it We produced for you gardens of date palms and vines. There are abundant fruits in them for you, and you eat from them,Ali Quli Qarai
And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat.Saheeh International

23:20
وَشَجَرَ
ةً ۭت َخْرُجُ مِن ط ُورِ سَيْنَا ٓءَ تَنۢب ُتُ بِٱ ل دُّهْنِ وَصِبْ غٍ ۢل ِّلَْٔاكِلِي نَ ٢٠Washajaratan takhruju min toori saynaatanbutu bidduhni wasibghin lilakileen
and a tree that grows on Mount Sinai, which produces oil and a seasoning for those who eat.Ali Quli Qarai
And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food [i.e., olives] for those who eat.Saheeh International
-
23:21
وَإِ
نّ َ لَكُمْ فِىٱ لْأَنْعَٰ مِ لَعِبْ رَةً ۭۖ ن ُّسْقِيكُم م ِّمّ َا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰ فِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ ۭو َمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُو نَ ٢١Wa-inna lakum fee al-anAAamilaAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butoonihawalakum feeha manafiAAu katheeratun waminhata/kuloon
There is indeed a moral for you in the cattle: We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and you have many uses in them, and you eat some of them,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat.Saheeh International

23:22
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى
ٱ لْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُو نَ ٢٢WaAAalayha waAAala alfulki tuhmaloon
and you are carried on them and on ships.Ali Quli Qarai
And upon them and on ships you are carried.Saheeh International
-
23:23
وَلَقَ
دْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰ قَوْمِٱ عْبُدُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ مَا لَكُم م ِّنْ إِلَٰ هٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُو نَ ٢٣Walaqad arsalna noohan ilaqawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha malakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoon
Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?’Ali Quli Qarai
And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"Saheeh International
-
23:24
فَقَالَ
ٱ لْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن ق َوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰ ذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ ۭم ِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن ي َتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَا ٓءَٱ للَّهُ لَأَنز َلَ مَلَٰٓ ئِكَةً ۭم َّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰ ذَا فِىٓ ءَابَا ٓئِنَاٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ٢٤Faqala almalao allatheenakafaroo min qawmihi ma hatha illa basharunmithlukum yureedu an yatafaddala AAalaykum walaw shaaAllahu laanzala mala-ikatan ma samiAAnabihatha fee aba-ina al-awwaleen
But the elite of the faithless from among his people said, ‘This is just a human being like you, who seeks to dominate you. Had Allah wished, He would have sent down angels. We never heard of such a thing among our forefathers.Ali Quli Qarai
But the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "This is not but a man like yourselves who wishes to take precedence over you; and if Allāh had willed [to send a messenger], He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers.Saheeh International
-
23:25
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُ
لٌۢ ب ِهِۦ جِنّ َةٌ ۭف َتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِي نٍۢ ٢٥In huwa illa rajulun bihi jinnatunfatarabbasoo bihi hatta heen
He is just a man possessed by madness. So bear with him for a while.’Ali Quli Qarai
He is not but a man possessed with madness, so wait concerning him for a time."Saheeh International
-
23:26
قَالَ رَبِّ
ٱ نص ُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُو نِ ٢٦Qala rabbi onsurnee bimakaththaboon
He said, ‘My Lord! Help me, for they impugn me.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Noah] said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me."Saheeh International
-
23:27
فَأَوْحَيْن
َآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِٱ صْنَعِٱ لْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَا ٓءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَٱ ل تَّنّ ُورُ ۙ فَٱ سْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن ك ُلٍّ ۢز َوْجَيْنِٱ ثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن س َبَقَ عَلَيْهِٱ لْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَٰ طِبْ نِى فِىٱ لَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓ ا۟ ۖ إِنّ َهُم م ُّغْرَقُو نَ ٢٧Faawhayna ilayhi ani isnaAAialfulka bi-aAAyunina wawahyina fa-ithajaa amruna wafara attannooru faslukfeeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illaman sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhatibneefee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoon
So We revealed to him: ‘Build the ark before Our eyes and by Our revelation. When Our edict comes and the oven gushes [a stream of water], bring into it a pair of every kind [of animal], and your family, except those of them against whom the decree has gone beforehand, and do not plead with Me for those who are wrongdoers: they shall indeed be drowned.’Ali Quli Qarai
So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into it [i.e., the ship] from each [creature] two mates and your family, except him for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned.Saheeh International
-
23:28
فَإِذَا
ٱ سْتَوَيْتَ أَنت َ وَمَن م َّعَكَ عَلَىٱ لْفُلْكِ فَقُلِٱ لْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِٱ لَّذِى نَجَّىٰ نَا مِنَٱ لْقَوْمِٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ٢٨Fa-itha istawayta anta waman maAAakaAAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allatheenajjana mina alqawmi aththalimeen
‘When you, and those who are with you, are settled in the ark, say, ‘‘All praise belongs to Allah, who has delivered us from the wrongdoing lot.’’Ali Quli Qarai
And when you have boarded the ship, you and those with you, then say, 'Praise to Allāh who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.'Saheeh International
-
23:29
وَقُ
ل رَّبِّ أَنز ِلْنِى مُنز َلً ۭام ُّبَارَكً ۭا و َأَنت َ خَيْرُٱ لْمُنز ِلِي نَ ٢٩Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakanwaanta khayru almunzileen
And say, ‘‘My Lord! Land me with a blessed landing, for You are the best of those who bring ashore.’’ ’Ali Quli Qarai
And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].'"Saheeh International
-
23:30
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَٰ تٍ ۢو َإِن ك ُنّ َا لَمُبْ تَلِي نَ ٣٠Inna fee thalika laayatinwa-in kunna lamubtaleen
There are indeed signs in this; and indeed, We have been testing.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that are signs, and indeed, We are ever testing [Our servants].Saheeh International
-
23:31
ثُ
مّ َ أَنش َأْنَا مِنۢ ب َعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِي نَ ٣١Thumma ansha/na min baAAdihim qarnan akhareen
Then after them We brought forth another generation,Ali Quli Qarai
Then We produced after them a generation of others.Saheeh International
-
23:32
فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُول
ً ۭام ِّنْهُمْ أَنِٱ عْبُدُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ مَا لَكُم م ِّنْ إِلَٰ هٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُو نَ ٣٢Faarsalna feehim rasoolan minhum anioAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhuafala tattaqoon
and We sent them an apostle from among themselves, saying, ‘Worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?’Ali Quli Qarai
And We sent among them a messenger from themselves, [saying], "Worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"Saheeh International
-
23:33
وَقَالَ
ٱ لْمَلَأُ مِن ق َوْمِهِٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَا ٓءِٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰ هُمْ فِىٱ لْحَيَو ٰ ةِٱ ل دُّنْيَا مَا هَٰ ذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ ۭم ِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمّ َا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمّ َا تَشْرَبُو نَ ٣٣Waqala almalao min qawmihi allatheenakafaroo wakaththaboo biliqa-i al-akhiratiwaatrafnahum fee alhayati addunyama hatha illa basharun mithlukum ya/kulumimma ta/kuloona minhu wayashrabu mimma tashraboon
Said the elite of his people, who were faithless and who denied the encounter of the Hereafter and whom We had given affluence in the life of the world: ‘This is just a human being like yourselves: he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink.Ali Quli Qarai
And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink.Saheeh International
-
23:34
وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْت
ُم ب َشَرً ۭا م ِّثْلَكُمْ إِنّ َكُمْ إِذً ۭا ل َّخَٰ سِرُو نَ ٣٤Wala-in ataAAtum basharan mithlakuminnakum ithan lakhasiroon
If you obey a human being like yourselves, you will indeed be losers.Ali Quli Qarai
And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers.Saheeh International
-
23:35
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَ
نّ َكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنت ُمْ تُرَابً ۭا و َعِظَٰ مًا أَنّ َكُم م ُّخْرَجُو نَ ٣٥AyaAAidukum annakum itha mittumwakuntum turaban waAAithaman annakummukhrajoon
Does he promise you that when you have died and become bones and dust you will indeed be raised [from the dead]?Ali Quli Qarai
Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]?Saheeh International
-
23:36
۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَد
ُو نَ ٣٦Hayhata hayhata limatooAAadoon
Far-fetched, far-fetched is what you are promised!Ali Quli Qarai
How far, how far, is that which you are promised.Saheeh International
-
23:37
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا
ٱ ل دُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْ عُوثِي نَ ٣٧In hiya illa hayatunaaddunya namootu wanahya wamanahnu bimabAAootheen
There is nothing but the life of this world: we live and die, and we will not be resurrected.Ali Quli Qarai
It [i.e., life] is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected.Saheeh International
-
23:38
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ
ٱ فْتَرَىٰ عَلَىٱ للَّهِ كَذِبً ۭا و َمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٣٨In huwa illa rajulun iftaraAAala Allahi kathiban wama nahnulahu bimu/mineen
He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we will not believe in him.’Ali Quli Qarai
He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allāh, and we will not believe him."Saheeh International

23:39
قَالَ رَبِّ
ٱ نص ُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُو نِ ٣٩Qala rabbi onsurnee bimakaththaboon
He said, ‘My Lord! Help me, for they impugn me.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me."Saheeh International
-
23:40
قَالَ عَ
مّ َا قَلِيلٍ ۢل َّيُصْبِحُنّ َ نَٰ دِمِي نَ ٤٠Qala AAamma qaleelin layusbihunnanadimeen
Said He, ‘In a little while they will become regretful.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful."Saheeh International
-
23:41
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
ٱ ل صَّيْحَةُ بِٱ لْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَٰ هُمْ غُثَا ٓءً ۭۚ ف َبُعْدً ۭا ل ِّلْقَوْمِٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ٤١Faakhathat-humu assayhatubilhaqqi fajaAAalnahum ghuthaanfabuAAdan lilqawmi aththalimeen
So the Cry seized them justly and We turned them into a scum. So away with the wrongdoing lot!Ali Quli Qarai
So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people.Saheeh International

23:42
ثُ
مّ َ أَنش َأْنَا مِنۢ ب َعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِي نَ ٤٢Thumma ansha/na min baAAdihimquroonan akhareen
Then after them We brought forth other generations.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We produced after them other generations.Saheeh International
-
23:43
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُ
مّ َةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَْٔخِرُو نَ ٤٣Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalahawama yasta/khiroon
No nation can advance its time nor can it defer it.Ali Quli Qarai
No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter].Saheeh International
-
23:44
ثُ
مّ َ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَا ٓءَ أُمّ َةً ۭر َّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم ب َعْضً ۭا و َجَعَلْنَٰ هُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدً ۭا ل ِّقَوْمٍ ۢل َّا يُؤْمِنُو نَ ٤٤Thumma arsalna rusulana tatrakulla ma jaa ommatan rasooluha kaththaboohufaatbaAAna baAAdahum baAAdan wajaAAalnahumahadeetha fabuAAdan liqawmin la yu/minoon
Then We sent Our apostles successively. Whenever there came to a nation its apostle, they impugned him, so We made them follow one another [to extinction] and We turned them into folktales. So away with the faithless lot!Ali Quli Qarai
Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe.Saheeh International

23:45
ثُ
مّ َ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَٰ رُونَ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَا وَسُلْطَٰ نٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍ ٤٥Thumma arsalna moosa waakhahuharoona bi-ayatina wasultaninmubeen
Then We sent Moses and Aaron, his brother, with Our signs and a manifest authorityAli Quli Qarai
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authoritySaheeh International
-
23:46
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِ
ي۟ هِۦ فَٱ سْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِي نَ ٤٦Ila firAAawna wamala-ihi fastakbaroowakanoo qawman AAaleen
to Pharaoh and his elites; but they acted arrogantly and they were a tyrannical lot.Ali Quli Qarai
To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people.Saheeh International
-
23:47
فَقَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰ بِدُو نَ ٤٧Faqaloo anu/minu libasharayni mithlinawaqawmuhuma lana AAabidoon
They said, ‘Shall we believe two humans like ourselves, while their people are our slaves?’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?"Saheeh International
-
23:48
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُو
ا۟ مِنَٱ لْمُهْلَكِي نَ ٤٨Fakaththaboohuma fakanoomina almuhlakeen
So they impugned the two of them, whereat they were among those who were destroyed.Ali Quli Qarai
So they denied them and were of those destroyed.Saheeh International
-
23:49
وَلَقَ
دْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٱ لْكِتَٰ بَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُو نَ ٤٩Walaqad atayna moosaalkitaba laAAallahum yahtadoon
Certainly We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided,Ali Quli Qarai
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided.Saheeh International
-
23:50
وَجَعَلْنَا
ٱ بْ نَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمّ َهُۥٓ ءَايَةً ۭو َءَاوَيْنَٰ هُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْ وَةٍ ۢذ َاتِ قَرَارٍ ۢو َمَعِي نٍۢ ٥٠WajaAAalna ibna maryama waommahu ayatanwaawaynahuma ila rabwatin thatiqararin wamaAAeen
and We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and sheltered them in a level highland with flowing water.Ali Quli Qarai
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water.Saheeh International
-
23:51
يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ ل رُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَٱ ل طَّيِّبَٰ تِ وَٱ عْمَلُوا۟ صَٰ لِحًا ۖ إِنّ ِى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِي مٌۭ ٥١Ya ayyuha arrusulukuloo mina attayyibati waAAmaloo salihaninnee bima taAAmaloona AAaleem
O apostles! Eat of the good things and act righteously. Indeed I know best what you do.Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed I, of what you do, am Knowing.Saheeh International
-
23:52
وَإِ
نّ َ هَٰ ذِهِۦٓ أُمّ َتُكُمْ أُمّ َةً ۭو َٰ حِدَةً ۭو َأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱ تَّقُو نِ ٥٢Wa-inna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatanwaana rabbukum fattaqoon
Indeed this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so be wary of Me.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me."Saheeh International
-
23:53
فَتَقَطَّع
ُوٓ ا۟ أَمْرَهُم ب َيْنَهُمْ زُبُرً ۭا ۖ ك ُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ ب ِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُو نَ ٥٣FataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahumzuburan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoon
But they fragmented their religion among themselves, each party boasting about what it had.Ali Quli Qarai
But they [i.e., the people] divided their religion among them into portions [i.e., sects] - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing.Saheeh International
-
23:54
فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ح
ِي نٍ ٥٤Fatharhum fee ghamratihim hattaheen
So leave them in their stupor for a while.Ali Quli Qarai
So leave them in their confusion for a time.Saheeh International
-
23:55
أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَ
نّ َمَا نُمِدُّهُم ب ِهِۦ مِن م َّالٍ ۢو َبَنِي نَ ٥٥Ayahsaboona annama numidduhumbihi min malin wabaneen
Do they suppose that whatever aid We provide them in regard to wealth and children [is because]Ali Quli Qarai
Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and childrenSaheeh International
-
23:56
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى
ٱ لْخَيْرَٰ تِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُو نَ ٥٦NusariAAu lahum fee alkhayratibal la yashAAuroon
We are eager to bring them good? No, they are not aware!Ali Quli Qarai
Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive.Saheeh International
-
23:57
إِ
نّ َٱ لَّذِينَ هُم م ِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم م ُّشْفِقُو نَ ٥٧Inna allatheena hum min khashyatirabbihim mushfiqoon
Indeed those who are apprehensive for the fear of their Lord,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their LordSaheeh International
-
23:58
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُم ب َِٔايَٰ تِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُو نَ ٥٨Wallatheena hum bi-ayatirabbihim yu/minoon
and believe in the signs of their Lord,Ali Quli Qarai
And they who believe in the signs of their LordSaheeh International
-
23:59
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ هُم ب ِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُو نَ ٥٩Wallatheena hum birabbihim layushrikoon
and do not ascribe partners to their Lord;Ali Quli Qarai
And they who do not associate anything with their LordSaheeh International
-
23:60
وَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنّ َهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰ جِعُو نَ ٦٠Wallatheena yu/toona maataw waquloobuhum wajilatun annahum ila rabbihim rajiAAoon
who give whatever they give while their hearts tremble with awe that they are going to return to their LordAli Quli Qarai
And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord -Saheeh International
-
23:61
أُ
و۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ يُسَٰ رِعُونَ فِىٱ لْخَيْرَٰ تِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰ بِقُو نَ ٦١Ola-ika yusariAAoona feealkhayrati wahum laha sabiqoon
—it is they who are zealous in [performing] good works and take the lead in them.Ali Quli Qarai
It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein.Saheeh International
-
23:62
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَ
ٰ بٌ ۭي َنط ِقُ بِٱ لْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُو نَ ٦٢Wala nukallifu nafsan illawusAAaha waladayna kitabun yantiqu bilhaqqiwahum la yuthlamoon
We task no soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged.Ali Quli Qarai
And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged.Saheeh International
-
23:63
بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَ
ةٍ ۢم ِّنْ هَٰ ذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰ لٌ ۭم ِّن د ُونِ ذَٰ لِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰ مِلُو نَ ٦٣Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratin min hathawalahum aAAmalun min dooni thalika hum lahaAAamiloon
Indeed, their hearts are in a stupor in regard to this, and there are other deeds besides which they perpetrate.Ali Quli Qarai
But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides that [i.e., disbelief] which they are doing,Saheeh International
-
23:64
حَتَّ
ىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم ب ِٱ لْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْ َٔرُو نَ ٦٤Hatta itha akhathnamutrafeehim bilAAathabi itha hum yaj-aroon
When We seize their affluent ones with punishment, behold, they make entreaties [to Us].Ali Quli Qarai
Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allāh] for help.Saheeh International
-
23:65
لَا تَ
جْ َٔرُوا۟ ٱ لْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنّ َكُم م ِّنّ َا لَا تُنص َرُو نَ ٦٥La taj-aroo alyawma innakum minnala tunsaroon
‘Do not make entreaties today! Indeed, you will not receive any help from Us.Ali Quli Qarai
Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped.Saheeh International
-
23:66
قَ
دْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰ تِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنت ُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰ بِكُمْ تَنك ِصُو نَ ٦٦Qad kanat ayatee tutlaAAalaykum fakuntum AAala aAAqabikum tankisoon
Certainly My signs used to be recited to you, but you used to take to your heels,Ali Quli Qarai
My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heelsSaheeh International
-
23:67
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِه
ِۦ سَٰ مِرً ۭا ت َهْجُرُو نَ ٦٧Mustakbireena bihi samiran tahjuroon
being disdainful of it, talking nonsense in your nightly sessions.’Ali Quli Qarai
In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil.Saheeh International
-
23:68
أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُو
ا۟ ٱ لْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَا ٓءَهُم م َّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَا ٓءَهُمُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ٦٨Afalam yaddabbaroo alqawla am jaahumma lam ya/ti abaahumu al-awwaleen
Have they not contemplated the Discourse, or has anything come to them [in it] that did not come to their forefathers?Ali Quli Qarai
Then have they not reflected over the word [i.e., the Qur’ān], or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers?Saheeh International
-
23:69
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُو
ا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنك ِرُو نَ ٦٩Am lam yaAArifoo rasoolahum fahum lahumunkiroon
Is it that they do not recognize their apostle, and so they deny him?Ali Quli Qarai
Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging?Saheeh International
-
23:70
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِه
ِۦ جِنّ َةٌۢ ۚ ب َلْ جَا ٓءَهُم ب ِٱ لْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰ رِهُو نَ ٧٠Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal jaahumbilhaqqi waaktharuhum lilhaqqi karihoon
Do they say, ‘There is madness in him’? No, he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse to the truth.Ali Quli Qarai
Or do they say, "In him is madness"? Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse.Saheeh International
-
23:71
وَلَوِ
ٱ تَّبَعَٱ لْحَقُّ أَهْوَا ٓءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تُ وَٱ لْأَرْضُ وَمَن ف ِيهِنّ َ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰ هُم ب ِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذ ِكْرِهِم م ُّعْرِضُو نَ ٧١Walawi ittabaAAa alhaqqu ahwaahumlafasadati assamawatu wal-arduwaman feehinna bal ataynahum bithikrihim fahum AAanthikrihim muAAridoon
Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth would have surely fallen apart [along] with those who are in them. Indeed, We have brought them their Reminder, but they are disregardful of their Reminder.Ali Quli Qarai
But if the Truth [i.e., Allāh] had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away.Saheeh International
-
23:72
أَمْ تَسَْٔلُهُمْ خَرْ
جً ۭا ف َخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۭۖ و َهُوَ خَيْرُٱ ل رَّٰ زِقِي نَ ٧٢Am tas-aluhum kharjan fakharajurabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru arraziqeen
Do you ask a recompense from them? Your Lord’s recompense is better, and He is the best of providers.Ali Quli Qarai
Or do you, [O Muḥammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers.Saheeh International
-
23:73
وَإِ
نّ َكَ لَتَدْ عُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰ طٍ ۢم ُّسْتَقِي مٍۢ ٧٣Wa-innaka latadAAoohum ila siratinmustaqeem
Indeed you invite them to a straight path,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, you invite them to a straight path.Saheeh International
-
23:74
وَإِ
نّ َٱ لَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ عَنِٱ ل صِّرَٰ طِ لَنَٰ كِبُو نَ ٧٤Wa-inna allatheena layu/minoona bil-akhirati AAani assiratilanakiboon
and those who do not believe in the Hereafter surely deviate from the path.Ali Quli Qarai
But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path.Saheeh International
-
23:75
۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَ
ٰ هُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم م ِّن ض ُرٍّ ۢل َّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰ نِهِمْ يَعْمَهُو نَ ٧٥Walaw rahimnahum wakashafnama bihim min durrin lalajjoo fee tughyanihimyaAAmahoon
Should We have mercy upon them and remove their distress, they would surely persist, bewildered in their rebellion.Ali Quli Qarai
And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.Saheeh International
-
23:76
وَلَقَ
دْ أَخَذْنَٰ هُم ب ِٱ لْعَذَابِ فَمَاٱ سْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُو نَ ٧٦Walaqad akhathnahum bilAAathabifama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoon
We have already seized them with punishment, yet they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor will they entreat [Him for mercy]Ali Quli Qarai
And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]Saheeh International
-
23:77
حَتَّ
ىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم ب َابً ۭا ذ َا عَذَابٍ ۢش َدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْ لِسُو نَ ٧٧Hatta itha fatahnaAAalayhim baban tha AAathabin shadeedin ithahum feehi mublisoon
until We open on them the gate of a severe punishment, whereupon they will be despondent in it.Ali Quli Qarai
Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair.Saheeh International
-
23:78
وَهُوَ
ٱ لَّذِىٓ أَنش َأَ لَكُمُٱ ل سَّمْعَ وَٱ لْأَبْ صَٰ رَ وَٱ لْأَفِْٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلً ۭام َّا تَشْكُرُو نَ ٧٨Wahuwa allathee anshaa lakumu assamAAawal-absara wal-af-idata qaleelan matashkuroon
It is He who made for you hearing, eyesight, and hearts. Little do you thank.Ali Quli Qarai
And it is He who produced for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful.Saheeh International
-
23:79
وَهُوَ
ٱ لَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُو نَ ٧٩Wahuwa allathee tharaakum feeal-ardi wa-ilayhi tuhsharoon
It is He who created you on the earth, and you will be mustered toward Him.Ali Quli Qarai
And it is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.Saheeh International
-
23:80
وَهُوَ
ٱ لَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُٱ خْتِلَٰ فُٱ لَّيْلِ وَٱ ل نّ َهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُو نَ ٨٠Wahuwa allathee yuhyeewayumeetu walahu ikhtilafu allayli wannahariafala taAAqiloon
And it is He who gives life and brings death, and due to Him is the alternation of day and night. Do you not exercise your reason?Ali Quli Qarai
And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason?Saheeh International
-
23:81
بَلْ قَالُو
ا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَٱ لْأَوَّلُو نَ ٨١Bal qaloo mithla ma qalaal-awwaloon
Indeed, they say, just like what the former peoples said.Ali Quli Qarai
Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.Saheeh International
-
23:82
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنّ َا تُرَابً ۭا و َعِظَٰ مًا أَءِنّ َا لَمَبْ عُوثُو نَ ٨٢Qaloo a-itha mitnawakunna turaban waAAithamana-inna lamabAAoothoon
They said, ‘What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected?Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?Saheeh International
-
23:83
لَقَ
دْ وُعِدْ نَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَا ٓؤُنَا هَٰ ذَا مِن ق َبْ لُ إِنْ هَٰ ذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰ طِيرُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ٨٣Laqad wuAAidna nahnu waabaonahatha min qablu in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleen
Certainly, we and our fathers were promised this before. [But] these are nothing but myths of the ancients.’Ali Quli Qarai
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples."Saheeh International
-
23:84
قُل لِّمَنِ
ٱ لْأَرْضُ وَمَن ف ِيهَآ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ تَعْلَمُو نَ ٨٤Qul limani al-ardu waman feehain kuntum taAAlamoon
Say, ‘To whom does the earth belong and whoever it contains, if you know?’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, [O Muḥammad], "To whom belongs the earth and whoever is in it, if you should know?"Saheeh International
-
23:85
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّر
ُو نَ ٨٥Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afalatathakkaroon
They will say, ‘To Allah.’ Say, ‘Will you not then take admonition?’Ali Quli Qarai
They will say, "To Allāh." Say, "Then will you not remember?"Saheeh International
-
23:86
قُلْ م
َن ر َّبُّٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِٱ ل سَّبْ عِ وَرَبُّٱ لْعَرْشِٱ لْعَظِي مِ ٨٦Qul man rabbu assamawatiassabAAi warabbu alAAarshi alAAatheem
Say, ‘Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Great Throne?’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne?"Saheeh International
-
23:87
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّق
ُو نَ ٨٧Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afalatattaqoon
They will say, ‘[They belong] to Allah.’ Say, ‘Will you not then be wary [of Him]?’Ali Quli Qarai
They will say, "[They belong] to Allāh." Say, "Then will you not fear Him?"Saheeh International
-
23:88
قُلْ م
َنۢ ب ِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۢو َهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ تَعْلَمُو نَ ٨٨Qul man biyadihi malakootu kulli shay-inwahuwa yujeeru wala yujaru AAalayhi in kuntumtaAAlamoon
Say, ‘In whose hand is the dominion of all things, and who gives shelter and no shelter can be provided from Him, if you know?’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "In whose hand is the realm of all things - and He protects while none can protect against Him - if you should know?"Saheeh International
-
23:89
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَ
نّ َىٰ تُسْحَرُو نَ ٨٩Sayaqooloona lillahi qul faannatusharoon
They will say, ‘[They all belong] to Allah.’ Say, ‘Then how are you so deluded?’Ali Quli Qarai
They will say, "[All belongs] to Allāh." Say, "Then how are you deluded?"Saheeh International
-
23:90
بَلْ أَتَيْنَ
ٰ هُم ب ِٱ لْحَقِّ وَإِنّ َهُمْ لَكَٰ ذِبُو نَ ٩٠Bal ataynahum bilhaqqiwa-innahum lakathiboon
Indeed, We have brought them the truth, and they are indeed liars.Ali Quli Qarai
Rather, We have brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars.Saheeh International
-
23:91
مَا
ٱ تَّخَذَٱ للَّهُ مِن و َلَدٍ ۢو َمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰ هٍ ۚ إِذً ۭا ل َّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰ هٍۭ ب ِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۢۚ س ُبْ حَٰ نَٱ للَّهِ عَمّ َا يَصِفُو نَ ٩١Ma ittakhatha Allahumin waladin wama kana maAAahu min ilahin ithanlathahaba kullu ilahin bima khalaqa walaAAalabaAAduhum AAala baAAdin subhana AllahiAAamma yasifoon
Allah has not taken any offspring, neither is there any god besides Him, for then each god would take away what he created, and some of them would surely rise up against others. Clear is Allah of what they allege!Ali Quli Qarai
Allāh has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have [sought to] overcome others. Exalted is Allāh above what they describe [concerning Him].Saheeh International

23:92
عَ
ٰ لِمِٱ لْغَيْبِ وَٱ ل شَّهَٰ دَةِ فَتَعَٰ لَىٰ عَمّ َا يُشْرِكُو نَ ٩٢AAalimi alghaybi washshahadatifataAAala AAamma yushrikoon
The Knower of the sensible and the Unseen, He is above having any partners that they ascribe [to Him].Ali Quli Qarai
[He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, so high is He above what they associate [with Him].Saheeh International
-
23:93
قُ
ل رَّبِّ إِمّ َا تُرِيَنّ ِى مَا يُوعَدُو نَ ٩٣Qul rabbi imma turiyannee mayooAAadoon
Say, ‘My Lord! If You should show me what they are promised,Ali Quli Qarai
Say, [O Muḥammad], "My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised,Saheeh International
-
23:94
رَبِّ فَلَا تَ
جْ عَلْنِى فِىٱ لْقَوْمِٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ٩٤Rabbi fala tajAAalnee fee alqawmi aththalimeen
then do not put me, my Lord, among the wrongdoing lot.’Ali Quli Qarai
My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people."Saheeh International
-
23:95
وَإِ
نّ َا عَلَىٰٓ أَن ن ُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَٰ دِرُو نَ ٩٥Wa-inna AAala an nuriyaka manaAAiduhum laqadiroon
We are indeed able to show you what We promise them.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, We are Able to show you what We have promised them.Saheeh International
-
23:96
ٱ
دْ فَعْ بِٱ لَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُٱ ل سَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُو نَ ٩٦IdfaAA billatee hiya ahsanu assayyi-atanahnu aAAlamu bima yasifoon
Repel ill [conduct] with that which is the best. We know best whatever they allege.Ali Quli Qarai
Repel, by [means of] what is best, [their] evil. We are most knowing of what they describe.Saheeh International
-
23:97
وَقُ
ل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰ تِٱ ل شَّيَٰ طِي نِ ٩٧Waqul rabbi aAAoothu bika min hamazatiashshayateen
Say, ‘My Lord! I seek Your protection from the promptings of devils,Ali Quli Qarai
And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils,Saheeh International
-
23:98
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أ
َن ي َحْضُرُو نِ ٩٨WaaAAoothu bika rabbi an yahduroon
and I seek Your protection, my Lord, from their presence near me.’Ali Quli Qarai
And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me."Saheeh International
-
23:99
حَتَّ
ىٰٓ إِذَا جَا ٓءَ أَحَدَهُمُٱ لْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّٱ رْجِعُو نِ ٩٩Hatta itha jaa ahadahumualmawtu qala rabbi irjiAAoon
When death comes to one of them, he says, ‘My Lord! Take me back,Ali Quli Qarai
[For such is the state of the disbelievers] until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me backSaheeh International
-
23:100
لَعَلّ
ِىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَٰ لِحً ۭا ف ِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّآ ۚ إِنّ َهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَا ٓئِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن و َرَا ٓئِهِم ب َرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْ عَثُو نَ ١٠٠LaAAallee aAAmalu salihanfeema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qa-iluhawamin wara-ihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoon
that I may act righteously in what I have left behind.’ ‘By no means! These are mere words that he says.’ And before them is a barrier until the day they will be resurrected.Ali Quli Qarai
That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.Saheeh International

23:101
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى
ٱ ل صُّورِ فَلَآ أَنس َابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ۢو َلَا يَتَسَا ٓءَلُو نَ ١٠١Fa-itha nufikha fee assoorifala ansaba baynahum yawma-ithin walayatasaaloon
When the Trumpet is blown, there will be no ties between them on that day, nor will they ask [about] each other.Ali Quli Qarai
So when the Horn is blown, no relationship will there be among them that Day, nor will they ask about one another.Saheeh International
-
23:102
فَمَ
ن ث َقُلَتْ مَوَٰ زِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ هُمُٱ لْمُفْلِحُو نَ ١٠٢Faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faola-ikahumu almuflihoon
Then those whose deeds weigh heavy in the scales—it is they who are the felicitous.Ali Quli Qarai
And those whose scales are heavy [with good deeds] - it is they who are the successful.Saheeh International
-
23:103
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَ
ٰ زِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَٱ لَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓ ا۟ أَنف ُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنّ َمَ خَٰ لِدُو نَ ١٠٣Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faola-ikaallatheena khasiroo anfusahum fee jahannama khalidoon
As for those whose deeds weigh light in the scales—they will be the ones who have ruined their souls, and they will remain in hell [forever].Ali Quli Qarai
But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally.Saheeh International
-
23:104
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ
ٱ ل نّ َارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَٰ لِحُو نَ ١٠٤Talfahu wujoohahumu annaruwahum feeha kalihoon
The Fire will scorch their faces, while they snarl baring their teeth.Ali Quli Qarai
The Fire will sear their faces, and they therein will have taut smiles.Saheeh International
-
23:105
أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَ
ٰ تِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنت ُم ب ِهَا تُكَذِّبُو نَ ١٠٥Alam takun ayatee tutlaAAalaykum fakuntum biha tukaththiboon
‘Was it not that My signs were recited to you but you would deny them?’Ali Quli Qarai
[It will be said], "Were not My verses recited to you and you used to deny them?"Saheeh International
-
23:106
قَالُو
ا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْ وَتُنَا وَكُنّ َا قَوْمً ۭا ض َا ٓلِّي نَ ١٠٦Qaloo rabbana ghalabatAAalayna shiqwatuna wakunna qawman dalleen
They will say, ‘Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were an astray lot.Ali Quli Qarai
They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray.Saheeh International
-
23:107
رَبَّن
َآ أَخْرِجْ نَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْ نَا فَإِنّ َا ظَٰ لِمُو نَ ١٠٧Rabbana akhrijna minhafa-in AAudna fa-inna thalimoon
Our Lord! Bring us out of this! Then, if we revert [to our previous conduct], we will indeed be wrongdoers.’Ali Quli Qarai
Our Lord, remove us from it, and if we were to return [to evil], we would indeed be wrongdoers."Saheeh International
-
23:108
قَالَ
ٱ خْسَُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُو نِ ١٠٨Qala ikhsaoo feeha walatukallimoon
He will say, ‘Begone in it, and do not speak to Me!Ali Quli Qarai
He will say, "Remain despised therein and do not speak to Me.Saheeh International

23:109
إِ
نّ َهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ ۭم ِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنّ َا فَٱ غْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱ رْحَمْنَا وَأَنت َ خَيْرُٱ ل رَّٰ حِمِي نَ ١٠٩Innahu kana fareequn min AAibadeeyaqooloona rabbana amanna faghfirlana warhamna waanta khayru arrahimeen
Indeed there was a part of My servants who would say, ‘‘Our Lord! We have believed. So forgive us, and have mercy on us, and You are the best of the merciful.’’Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, 'Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.'Saheeh International

23:110
فَ
ٱ تَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنس َوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنت ُم م ِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُو نَ ١١٠Fattakhathtumoohumsikhriyyan hatta ansawkum thikree wakuntumminhum tadhakoon
But you took them by ridicule until they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.Ali Quli Qarai
But you took them in mockery to the point that they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.Saheeh International

23:111
إِ
نّ ِى جَزَيْتُهُمُٱ لْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓ ا۟ أَنّ َهُمْ هُمُٱ لْفَا ٓئِزُو نَ ١١١Innee jazaytuhumu alyawma bima sabarooannahum humu alfa-izoon
Indeed I have rewarded them today for their patience. They are indeed the triumphant.’Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - that they are the attainers [of success]."Saheeh International

23:112
قَ
ٰ لَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِي نَ ١١٢Qala kam labithtum fee al-ardiAAadada sineen
He will say, ‘How many years did you remain on earth?’Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh] will say, "How long did you remain on earth in number of years?"Saheeh International
-
23:113
قَالُو
ا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ ۢف َسَْٔلِٱ لْعَا ٓدِّي نَ ١١٣Qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAdayawmin fas-ali alAAaddeen
They will say, ‘We remained for a day, or part of a day; yet ask those who keep the count.’Ali Quli Qarai
They will say, "We remained a day or part of a day; ask those who enumerate."Saheeh International

23:114
قَ
ٰ لَ إِن ل َّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلً ۭاۖ ل َّوْ أَنّ َكُمْ كُنت ُمْ تَعْلَمُو نَ ١١٤Qala in labithtum illaqaleelan law annakum kuntum taAAlamoon
He will say, ‘You only remained a little; if only you had known.Ali Quli Qarai
He will say, "You stayed not but a little - if only you had known.Saheeh International
-
23:115
أَفَحَسِ
بْ تُمْ أَنّ َمَا خَلَقْ نَٰ كُمْ عَبَثً ۭا و َأَنّ َكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُو نَ ١١٥Afahasibtum annama khalaqnakumAAabathan waannakum ilayna la turjaAAoon
Did you suppose that We created you aimlessly, and that you will not be brought back to Us?’Ali Quli Qarai
Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?"Saheeh International
-
23:116
فَتَعَ
ٰ لَىٱ للَّهُٱ لْمَلِكُٱ لْحَقُّ ۖ لَآ إِلَٰ هَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّٱ لْعَرْشِٱ لْكَرِي مِ ١١٦FataAAala Allahualmaliku alhaqqu la ilaha illa huwarabbu alAAarshi alkareem
So exalted is Allah, the True Sovereign, there is no god except Him, the Lord of the Noble Throne.Ali Quli Qarai
So exalted is Allāh, the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne.Saheeh International

23:117
وَم
َن ي َدْ عُ مَعَٱ للَّهِ إِلَٰ هًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَٰ نَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنّ َمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِند َ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُٱ لْكَٰ فِرُو نَ ١١٧Waman yadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara la burhana lahu bihi fa-innamahisabuhu AAinda rabbihi innahu la yuflihualkafiroon
Whoever invokes besides Allah another god of which he has no proof, his reckoning will indeed rest with his Lord. Indeed the faithless will not be felicitous.Ali Quli Qarai
And whoever invokes besides Allāh another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.Saheeh International

23:118
وَقُ
ل رَّبِّٱ غْفِرْ وَٱ رْحَمْ وَأَنت َ خَيْرُٱ ل رَّٰ حِمِي نَ ١١٨Waqul rabbi ighfir warhamwaanta khayru arrahimeen
Say, ‘My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful.’Ali Quli Qarai
And, [O Muḥammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful."Saheeh International
