31:1
ا
لٓمٓ ١Alif-lam-meem
Alif, Lam, Meem.Ali Quli Qarai
Alif, Lām, Meem.Saheeh International
-
31:2
تِلْكَ ءَايَ
ٰ تُٱ لْكِتَٰ بِٱ لْحَكِي مِ ٢Tilka ayatu alkitabi alhakeem
These are the signs of the wise Book,Ali Quli Qarai
These are verses of the wise Book,Saheeh International
-
31:3
هُ
دً ۭى و َرَحْمَةً ۭل ِّلْمُحْسِنِي نَ ٣Hudan warahmatan lilmuhsineen
a guidance and mercy for the virtuous,Ali Quli Qarai
As guidance and mercy for the doers of goodSaheeh International
-
31:4
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ
ٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةَ وَيُؤْتُونَٱ ل زَّكَو ٰ ةَ وَهُم ب ِٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُو نَ ٤Allatheena yuqeemoona assalatawayu/toona azzakata wahum bil-akhiratihum yooqinoon
who maintain the prayer, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter.Ali Quli Qarai
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].Saheeh International

31:5
أُ
و۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدً ۭى م ِّن ر َّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ هُمُٱ لْمُفْلِحُو نَ ٥Ola-ika AAala hudan minrabbihim waola-ika humu almuflihoon
Those follow their Lord’s guidance, and it is they who are the felicitous.Ali Quli Qarai
Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.Saheeh International
-
31:6
وَمِنَ
ٱ ل نّ َاسِ مَن ي َشْتَرِى لَهْوَٱ لْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن س َبِيلِٱ للَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۢو َيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ ۭم ُّهِي نٌۭ ٦Wamina annasi man yashtareelahwa alhadeethi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahibighayri AAilmin wayattakhithaha huzuwan ola-ikalahum AAathabun muheen
Among the people is he who buys diversionary talk that he may lead [people] astray from Allah’s way without any knowledge, and he takes it in derision. For such there is a humiliating punishment.Ali Quli Qarai
And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allāh without knowledge and who takes it [i.e., His way] in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.Saheeh International

31:7
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَ
ٰ تُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرً ۭا ك َأَن ل َّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنّ َ فِىٓ أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْ رً ۭا ۖ ف َبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِي مٍ ٧Wa-itha tutla AAalayhi ayatunawalla mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha kaanna fee othunayhiwaqran fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleem
When Our signs are recited to him he turns away disdainfully, as if he had not heard them [at all], as if there were a deafness in his ears. So inform him of a painful punishment.Ali Quli Qarai
And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.Saheeh International

31:8
إِ
نّ َٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱ ل صَّٰ لِحَٰ تِ لَهُمْ جَنّ َٰ تُٱ ل نّ َعِي مِ ٨Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum jannatuannaAAeem
As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, for them will be gardens of bliss,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure,Saheeh International

31:9
خَ
ٰ لِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ وَعْدَٱ للَّهِ حَقًّ ۭا ۚ و َهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ لْحَكِي مُ ٩Khalideena feeha waAAda Allahihaqqan wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeem
to remain in them [forever]—a true promise of Allah, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.Ali Quli Qarai
Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allāh [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.Saheeh International

31:10
خَلَقَ
ٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ ۢت َرَوْنَهَا ۖ وَأَلْقَىٰ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ رَوَٰ سِىَ أَن ت َمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن ك ُلِّ دَا ٓبَّةٍ ۢۚ و َأَنز َلْنَا مِنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ مَا ٓءً ۭف َأَنۢب َتْنَا فِيهَا مِن ك ُلِّ زَوْجٍ ۢك َرِي مٍ ١٠Khalaqa assamawatibighayri AAamadin tarawnaha waalqa fee al-ardirawasiya an tameeda bikum wabaththa feeha min kullidabbatin waanzalna mina assama-i maanfaanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareem
He created the heavens without any pillars that you may see, and cast firm mountains in the earth lest it should shake with you, and He has scattered in it every kind of animal. And We sent down water from the sky and caused every splendid kind [of plant] to grow in it.Ali Quli Qarai
He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.Saheeh International

31:11
هَ
ٰ ذَا خَلْقُٱ للَّهِ فَأَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقَٱ لَّذِينَ مِن د ُونِهِۦ ۚ بَلِٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمُونَ فِى ضَلَٰ لٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ١١Hatha khalqu Allahi faarooneematha khalaqa allatheena min doonihi bali aththalimoonafee dalalin mubeen
This is the creation of Allah. Now show Me what others besides Him have created. Indeed, the wrongdoers are in manifest error!Ali Quli Qarai
This is the creation of Allāh. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.Saheeh International

31:12
وَلَقَ
دْ ءَاتَيْنَا لُقْ مَٰ نَٱ لْحِكْمَةَ أَنِٱ شْكُرْ لِلَّهِ ۚ وَمَن ي َشْكُرْ فَإِنّ َمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ك َفَرَ فَإِنّ َٱ للَّهَ غَنِىٌّ حَمِي د ٌۭ ١٢Walaqad atayna luqmanaalhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna Allaha ghaniyyun hameed
Certainly We gave Luqman wisdom, saying, ‘Give thanks to Allah; and whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful, [let him know that] Allah is indeed all-sufficient, all-laudable.’Ali Quli Qarai
And We had certainly given Luqmān wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allāh." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.Saheeh International

31:13
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُ
قْ مَٰ نُ لِٱ بْ نِهِۦ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُۥ يَٰ بُنَىَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِٱ للَّهِ ۖ إِنّ َٱ ل شِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِي مٌۭ ١٣Wa-ith qala luqmanu libnihiwahuwa yaAAithuhu ya bunayya latushrik billahi inna ashshirka lathulmunAAatheem
When Luqman said to his son, as he advised him: ‘O my son! Do not ascribe any partners to Allah. Polytheism is indeed a great injustice.’Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Luqmān said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allāh. Indeed, association [with Him] is great injustice."Saheeh International

31:14
وَوَصَّيْنَا
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نَ بِوَٰ لِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمّ ُهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ ۢو َفِصَٰ لُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِٱ شْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰ لِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّٱ لْمَصِي رُ ١٤Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi hamalat-hu ommuhu wahnan AAalawahnin wafisaluhu fee AAamayni ani oshkur lee waliwalidaykailayya almaseer
We have enjoined man concerning his parents: His mother carried him through weakness upon weakness, and his weaning takes two years. Give thanks to Me and to your parents. To Me is the return.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.Saheeh International

31:15
وَإِ
ن ج َٰ هَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن ت ُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۭف َلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْ هُمَا فِىٱ ل دُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفً ۭا ۖ و َٱ تَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ۚ ثُمّ َ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم ب ِمَا كُنت ُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ ١٥Wa-in jahadaka AAala antushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhumawasahibhuma fee addunya maAAroofanwattabiAA sabeela man anaba ilayya thumma ilayyamarjiAAukum faonabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloon
But if they urge you to ascribe to Me as partner that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. Keep their company honourably in this world and follow the way of those who turn to Me penitently. Then to Me will be your return, whereat I will inform you concerning what you used to do.Ali Quli Qarai
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.Saheeh International

31:16
يَ
ٰ بُنَىَّ إِنّ َهَآ إِن ت َكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ ۢم ِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ ۢف َتَكُن ف ِى صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ أَوْ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَاٱ للَّهُ ۚ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِي رٌۭ ١٦Ya bunayya innaha in takumithqala habbatin min khardalin fatakun fee sakhratinaw fee assamawati aw fee al-ardiya/ti biha Allahu inna Allaha lateefunkhabeer
‘O my son! Even if it should be the weight of a mustard seed, and [even though] it should be in a rock, or in the heavens, or in the earth, Allah will produce it. Indeed Allah is all-attentive, all-aware.Ali Quli Qarai
[And Luqmān said], "O my son, indeed if it [i.e., a wrong] should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allāh will bring it forth. Indeed, Allāh is Subtle and Aware.Saheeh International

31:17
يَ
ٰ بُنَىَّ أَقِمِٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱ لْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱ نْهَ عَنِٱ لْمُنك َرِ وَٱ صْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ ۖ إِنّ َ ذَٰ لِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِٱ لْأُمُو رِ ١٧Ya bunayya aqimi assalatawa/mur bilmaAAroofi wanha AAani almunkari wasbirAAala ma asabaka inna thalika minAAazmi al-omoor
O my son! Maintain the prayer and bid what is right and forbid what is wrong, and be patient through whatever may befall you. That is indeed the steadiest of courses.Ali Quli Qarai
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve.Saheeh International
-
31:18
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِل
نّ َاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ ۢف َخُو رٍۢ ١٨Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka linnasiwala tamshi fee al-ardi marahan inna Allahala yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoor
Do not turn your cheek away disdainfully from the people, and do not walk exultantly on the earth. Indeed Allah does not like any swaggering braggart.Ali Quli Qarai
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allāh does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.Saheeh International
-
31:19
وَ
ٱ قْ صِدْ فِى مَشْيِكَ وَٱ غْضُضْ مِن ص َوْتِكَ ۚ إِنّ َ أَنك َرَٱ لْأَصْوَٰ تِ لَصَوْتُٱ لْحَمِي رِ ١٩Waqsid fee mashyika waghdudmin sawtika inna ankara al-aswati lasawtualhameer
Be modest in your bearing, and lower your voice. Indeed the ungainliest of voices is the donkey’s voice.’Ali Quli Qarai
And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."Saheeh International

31:20
أَلَمْ تَرَوْ
ا۟ أَنّ َٱ للَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم م َّا فِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَمَا فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُۥ ظَٰ هِرَةً ۭو َبَاطِنَةً ۭۗ و َمِنَٱ ل نّ َاسِ مَن ي ُجَٰ دِلُ فِىٱ للَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۢو َلَا هُدً ۭى و َلَا كِتَٰ بٍ ۢم ُّنِي رٍۢ ٢٠Alam taraw anna Allaha sakhkharalakum ma fee assamawati wamafee al-ardi waasbagha AAalaykum niAAamahu thahiratanwabatinatan wamina annasi man yujadilufee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan walakitabin muneer
Do you not see that Allah has disposed for you whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth and He has showered upon you His blessings, the outward, and the inward? Yet among the people are those who dispute concerning Allah without any knowledge or guidance or an illuminating scripture.Ali Quli Qarai
Do you not see that Allāh has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].Saheeh International

31:21
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ
ٱ تَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنز َلَٱ للَّهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْ نَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَا ٓءَنَآ ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَٱ ل شَّيْطَٰ نُ يَدْ عُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِٱ ل سَّعِي رِ ٢١Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo maanzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma wajadnaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana ashshaytanuyadAAoohum ila AAathabi assaAAeer
When they are told, ‘Follow what Allah has sent down,’ they say, ‘No, we will follow what we found our fathers following.’ What! Even if Satan be calling them to the punishment of the Blaze?Ali Quli Qarai
And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allāh has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?Saheeh International

31:22
۞ وَم
َن ي ُسْلِمْ وَجْ هَهُۥٓ إِلَىٱ للَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ ۭف َقَدِٱ سْتَمْسَكَ بِٱ لْعُرْوَةِٱ لْوُثْقَىٰ ۗ وَإِلَىٱ للَّهِ عَٰ قِبَةُٱ لْأُمُو رِ ٢٢Waman yuslim wajhahu ila Allahiwahuwa muhsinun faqadi istamsaka bilAAurwatialwuthqa wa-ila Allahi AAaqibatual-omoor
Whoever surrenders his heart to Allah and is virtuous, has certainly held fast to the firmest handle, and with Allah lies the outcome of all matters.Ali Quli Qarai
And whoever submits his face [i.e., self] to Allāh while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allāh will be the outcome of [all] matters.Saheeh International

31:23
وَمَ
ن ك َفَرَ فَلَا يَحْزُنك َ كُفْرُهُۥٓ ۚ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُهُم ب ِمَا عَمِلُوٓ ا۟ ۚ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ ب ِذَاتِٱ ل صُّدُو رِ ٢٣Waman kafara fala yahzunkakufruhu ilayna marjiAAuhum fanunabbi-ohum bimaAAamiloo inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati assudoor
As for those who are faithless, let their faithlessness not grieve you. To Us will be their return, and We will inform them about what they have done. Indeed Allah knows best what is in the breasts.Ali Quli Qarai
And whoever has disbelieved - let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.Saheeh International
-
31:24
نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيل
ً ۭاث ُمّ َ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِي ظٍۢ ٢٤NumattiAAuhum qaleelan thumma nadtarruhumila AAathabin ghaleeth
We will provide for them for a short time, then We will shove them toward a harsh punishment.Ali Quli Qarai
We grant them enjoyment for a little; then We will force them to a massive punishment.Saheeh International

31:25
وَلَئِ
ن س َأَلْتَهُم م َّنْ خَلَقَٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنّ َٱ للَّهُ ۚ قُلِٱ لْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُو نَ ٢٥Wala-in saaltahum man khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdulillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoon
If you ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth?’ they will surely say, ‘Allah.’ Say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah!’ But most of them do not know.Ali Quli Qarai
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh"; but most of them do not know.Saheeh International

31:26
لِلَّهِ مَا فِى
ٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ هُوَٱ لْغَنِىُّٱ لْحَمِي د ُ ٢٦Lillahi ma fee assamawatiwal-ardi inna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameed
To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Indeed Allah is the All-sufficient, the All-laudable.Ali Quli Qarai
To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.Saheeh International
-
31:27
وَلَوْ أَ
نّ َمَا فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ مِن ش َجَرَةٍ أَقْ لَٰ مٌ ۭو َٱ لْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُۥ مِنۢ ب َعْدِهِۦ سَبْ عَةُ أَبْ حُرٍ ۢم َّا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَٰ تُٱ للَّهِ ۗ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِي مٌۭ ٢٧Walaw annama fee al-ardi minshajaratin aqlamun walbahru yamudduhu minbaAAdihi sabAAatu abhurin ma nafidat kalimatuAllahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeem
If all the trees on the earth were pens, and the sea replenished with seven more seas [were ink], the words of Allah would not be spent. Indeed Allah is all-mighty, all-wise.Ali Quli Qarai
And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allāh would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.Saheeh International
-
31:28
مَّا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ إِلَّا كَنَفْ
سٍ ۢو َٰ حِدَةٍ ۗ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ ب َصِي رٌ ٢٨Ma khalqukum wala baAAthukumilla kanafsin wahidatin inna AllahasameeAAun baseer
Your creation and your resurrection are not but as of a single soul. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-seeing.Ali Quli Qarai
Your creation and your resurrection will not be but as that of a single soul. Indeed, Allāh is Hearing and Seeing.Saheeh International

31:29
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَ
نّ َٱ للَّهَ يُولِجُٱ لَّيْلَ فِىٱ ل نّ َهَارِ وَيُولِجُٱ ل نّ َهَارَ فِىٱ لَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَٱ ل شَّمْسَ وَٱ لْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ ۭي َجْ رِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ ۢم ُّسَمًّ ۭى و َأَنّ َٱ للَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِي رٌۭ ٢٩Alam tara anna Allaha yooliju allaylafee annahari wayooliju annahara feeallayli wasakhkhara ashshamsa walqamara kullunyajree ila ajalin musamman waanna Allaha bimataAAmaloona khabeer
Have you not regarded that Allah makes the night pass into the day and makes the day pass into the night; and He has disposed the sun and the moon, each moving for a specified term, and that Allah is well aware of what you do?Ali Quli Qarai
Do you not see [i.e., know] that Allāh causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term, and that Allāh, of whatever you do, is Aware?Saheeh International

31:30
ذَ
ٰ لِكَ بِأَنّ َٱ للَّهَ هُوَٱ لْحَقُّ وَأَنّ َ مَا يَدْ عُونَ مِن د ُونِهِٱ لْبَٰ طِلُ وَأَنّ َٱ للَّهَ هُوَٱ لْعَلِىُّٱ لْكَبِي رُ ٣٠Thalika bi-anna Allaha huwa alhaqquwaanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi albatilu waanna Allahahuwa alAAaliyyu alkabeer
That is because Allah is the Reality, and whatever they invoke besides Him is nullity, and because Allah is the All-exalted, the All-great.Ali Quli Qarai
That is because Allāh is the True Reality, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allāh is the Most High, the Grand.Saheeh International

31:31
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَ
نّ َٱ لْفُلْكَ تَجْ رِى فِىٱ لْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِٱ للَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُم م ِّنْ ءَايَٰ تِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَٰ تٍ ۢل ِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ ۢش َكُو رٍۢ ٣١Alam tara anna alfulka tajree fee albahribiniAAmati Allahi liyuriyakum min ayatihiinna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarinshakoor
Have you not regarded that the ships sail at sea with Allah’s blessing, that He may show you some of His signs? There are indeed signs in that for every patient and grateful [servant].Ali Quli Qarai
Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by the favor of Allāh that He may show you of His signs? Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.Saheeh International

31:32
وَإِذَا غَشِيَه
ُم م َّوْجٌ ۭك َٱ ل ظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا۟ ٱ للَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُٱ ل دِّينَ فَلَمّ َا نَجَّىٰ هُمْ إِلَىٱ لْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُم م ُّقْ تَصِدٌ ۭۚ و َمَا يَجْ حَدُ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَآ إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ ۢك َفُو رٍۢ ٣٢Wa-itha ghashiyahum mawjun kaththulalidaAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu addeenafalamma najjahum ila albarri faminhum muqtasidunwama yajhadu bi-ayatina illakullu khattarin kafoor
When waves cover them like awnings; they invoke Allah, putting exclusive faith in Him. But when He delivers them towards land, [only] some of them remain unswerving. No one will impugn Our signs except an ungrateful traitor.Ali Quli Qarai
And when waves come over them like canopies, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion [i.e., faith]. But when He delivers them to the land, there are [some] of them who are moderate [in faith]. And none rejects Our signs except everyone treacherous and ungrateful.Saheeh International

31:33
يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ ل نّ َاسُٱ تَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ وَٱ خْشَوْا۟ يَوْمً ۭا ل َّا يَجْ زِى وَالِدٌ عَن و َلَدِهِۦ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَن و َالِدِهِۦ شَئًْا ۚ إِنّ َ وَعْدَٱ للَّهِ حَقٌّ ۭۖ ف َلَا تَغُرَّنّ َكُمُٱ لْحَيَو ٰ ةُٱ ل دُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنّ َكُم ب ِٱ للَّهِٱ لْغَرُو رُ ٣٣Ya ayyuha annasuittaqoo rabbakum wakhshaw yawman la yajzee walidunAAan waladihi wala mawloodun huwa jazin AAan walidihishay-an inna waAAda Allahi haqqun falataghurrannakumu alhayatu addunya walayaghurrannakum billahi algharoor
O mankind! Be wary of your Lord and fear the day when a father will not atone for his child, nor the child will atone for its father in any wise. Indeed Allah’s promise is true. So do not let the life of the world deceive you, nor let the Deceiver deceive you concerning Allah.Ali Quli Qarai
O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allāh by the Deceiver [i.e., Satan].Saheeh International

31:34
إِ
نّ َٱ للَّهَ عِند َهُۥ عِلْمُٱ ل سَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُٱ لْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِىٱ لْأَرْحَامِ ۖ وَمَا تَدْ رِى نَفْسٌ ۭم َّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدً ۭا ۖ و َمَا تَدْ رِى نَفْسٌۢ ب ِأَىِّ أَرْضٍ ۢت َمُوتُ ۚ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِي رٌۢ ٣٤Inna Allaha AAindahu AAilmu assaAAatiwayunazzilu alghaytha wayaAAlamu ma fee al-arhamiwama tadree nafsun matha taksibu ghadan wamatadree nafsun bi-ayyi ardin tamootu inna AllahaAAaleemun khabeer
Indeed the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah. He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-aware.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, Allāh [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware.Saheeh International
