بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
-
11:1
الٓر ۚ كِتَٰبٌ أُحْكِمَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ ١
Alif-lam-ra kitabun ohkimatayatuhu thumma fussilat min ladun hakeeminkhabeer
QaraiAlif, Lam Ra. [This is] a Book, whose signs have been made definitive and then elaborated, from One [who is] all-wise, all-aware,
Saheeh InternationalAlif, Lām, Rā. [This is] a Book whose verses are perfected and then presented in detail from [one who is] Wise and Aware
-
11:2
أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّنِى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ ٢
Alla taAAbudoo illa Allahainnanee lakum minhu natheerun wabasheer
Qaraideclaring: ‘Worship no one but Allah. I am indeed a warner to you from Him and a bearer of good news.
Saheeh International[Through a messenger, saying], "Do not worship except Allāh. Indeed, I am to you from Him a warner and a bringer of good tidings,"
-
11:3
وَأَنِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُم مَّتَٰعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَيُؤْتِ كُلَّ ذِى فَضْلٍ فَضْلَهُۥ ۖ وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ ٣
Waani istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma toobooilayhi yumattiAAkum mataAAan hasanan ilaajalin musamman wayu/ti kulla thee fadlin fadlahuwa-in tawallaw fa-inee akhafu AAalaykum AAathabayawmin kabeer
QaraiPlead with your Lord for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently. He will provide you with a good provision for a specified term and grant His grace to every meritorious person. But if you turn your backs [on Him], indeed I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day.
Saheeh InternationalAnd [saying], "Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, [and] He will let you enjoy a good provision for a specified term and give every doer of favor his favor [i.e., reward]. But if you turn away, then indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great Day.

11:4
إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ٤
Ila Allahi marjiAAukum wahuwaAAala kulli shay-in qadeer
QaraiTo Allah will be your return, and He has power over all things.’
Saheeh InternationalTo Allāh is your return, and He is over all things competent."

11:5
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟ مِنْهُ ۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ٥
Ala innahum yathnoona sudoorahumliyastakhfoo minhu ala heena yastaghshoona thiyabahumyaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahuAAaleemun bithati assudoor
QaraiLook! They fold up their breasts to hide [their secret feelings] from Him. Look! When they draw their cloaks over their heads, He knows whatever they keep secret and whatever they disclose. Indeed, He knows best whatever is in the breasts.
Saheeh InternationalUnquestionably, they [i.e., the disbelievers] turn away their breasts to hide themselves from him. Unquestionably, [even] when they cover themselves in their clothing, He [i.e., Allāh] knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

11:6
۞ وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۚ كُلٌّ فِى كِتَٰبٍ مُّبِينٍ ٦
Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardiilla AAala Allahi rizquha wayaAAlamumustaqarraha wamustawdaAAaha kullun fee kitabinmubeen
QaraiThere is no animal on the earth, but that its sustenance lies with Allah, and He knows its [enduring] abode and its temporary place of lodging. Everything is in a manifest Book.
Saheeh InternationalAnd there is no creature on earth but that upon Allāh is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register.

11:7
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْمَآءِ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۗ وَلَئِن قُلْتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْمَوْتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ٧
Wahuwa allathee khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda fee sittati ayyamin wakanaAAarshuhu AAala alma-i liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanuAAamalan wala-in qulta innakum mabAAoothoona min baAAdi almawtilayaqoolanna allatheena kafaroo in hatha illasihrun mubeen
QaraiIt is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days—and His Throne was [then] upon the waters—that He may test you [to see] which of you is best in conduct. Yet if you say, ‘You will indeed be raised up after death,’ the faithless will surely say, ‘This is nothing but plain magic.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days - and His Throne had been upon water - that He might test you as to which of you is best in deed. But if you say, "Indeed, you are resurrected after death," those who disbelieve will surely say, "This is not but obvious magic."

11:8
وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُودَةٍ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُۥٓ ۗ أَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٨
Wala-in akhkharna AAanhumu alAAathabaila ommatin maAAdoodatin layaqoolunna ma yahbisuhuala yawma ya/teehim laysa masroofan AAanhum wahaqabihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oon
QaraiAnd if We defer their punishment until a certain time, they will surely say, ‘What holds it back?’ Look! On the day it overtakes them it shall not be turned away from them, and they will be besieged by what they used to deride.
Saheeh InternationalAnd if We hold back from them the punishment for a limited time, they will surely say, "What detains it?" Unquestionably, on the Day it comes to them, it will not be averted from them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

11:9
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعْنَٰهَا مِنْهُ إِنَّهُۥ لَئَُوسٌ كَفُورٌ ٩
Wala-in athaqna al-insanaminna rahmatan thumma nazaAAnahaminhu innahu layaoosun kafoor
QaraiIf We let man taste a mercy from Us, and then withdraw it from him, he becomes despondent, ungrateful.
Saheeh InternationalAnd if We give man a taste of mercy from Us and then We withdraw it from him, indeed, he is despairing and ungrateful.
-
11:10
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَٰهُ نَعْمَآءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ ٱلسَّئَِّاتُ عَنِّىٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُورٌ ١٠
Wala-in athaqnahu naAAmaabaAAda darraa massat-hu layaqoolanna thahabaassayyi-atu AAannee innahu lafarihunfakhoor
QaraiAnd if We let him have a taste of Our blessings after adversities have befallen him, he will surely say, ‘All ills have left me.’ Indeed, he becomes a vain braggart,
Saheeh InternationalBut if We give him a taste of favor after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, "Bad times have left me." Indeed, he is exultant and boastful -

11:11
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ ١١
Illa allatheena sabaroowaAAamiloo assalihati ola-ika lahummaghfiratun waajrun kabeer
Qaraiexcepting those who are patient and do righteous deeds. For such there will be forgiveness and a great reward.
Saheeh InternationalExcept for those who are patient and do righteous deeds; those will have forgiveness and great reward.
-
11:12
فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَضَآئِقٌۢ بِهِۦ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌ ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَكِيلٌ ١٢
FalaAAallaka tarikun baAAda mayooha ilayka wada-iqun bihi sadruka anyaqooloo lawla onzila AAalayhi kanzun aw jaamaAAahu malakun innama anta natheerun wallahuAAala kulli shay-in wakeel
Qarai[Look out] lest you should disregard aught of what has been revealed to you, and be upset because they say, ‘Why has not a treasure been sent down to him, or [why does] not an angel accompany him?’ You are only a warner, and Allah watches over all things.
Saheeh InternationalThen would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you, or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allāh is Disposer of all things.

11:13
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثْلِهِۦ مُفْتَرَيَٰتٍ وَٱدْعُوا۟ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ١٣
Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul fa/toobiAAashri suwarin mithlihi muftarayatin wadAAoomani istataAAtum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeen
QaraiDo they say, ‘He has fabricated it?’ Say, ‘Then bring ten surahs like it, fabricated, and invoke whomever you can, besides Allah, should you be truthful.’
Saheeh InternationalOr do they say, "He invented it"? Say, "Then bring ten sūrahs like it that have been invented and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allāh, if you should be truthful."

11:14
فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ ١٤
Fa-illam yastajeeboo lakum faAAlamooannama onzila biAAilmi Allahi waan la ilahailla huwa fahal antum muslimoon
QaraiBut if they do not respond to you, know that it has been sent down by Allah’s knowledge, and that there is no god except Him. Will you, then, submit [to Allah]?
Saheeh InternationalAnd if they do not respond to you - then know that it [i.e., the Qur’ān] was revealed with the knowledge of Allāh and that there is no deity except Him. Then, would you [not] be Muslims?
-
11:15
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَيْهِمْ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فِيهَا وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يُبْخَسُونَ ١٥
Man kana yureedu alhayataaddunya wazeenataha nuwaffi ilayhim aAAmalahumfeeha wahum feeha la yubkhasoon
QaraiAs for those who desire the life of this world and its glitter, We will recompense them fully for their works therein, and they shall not be underpaid in it.
Saheeh InternationalWhoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived.

11:16
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلَْٔاخِرَةِ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارُ ۖ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا۟ فِيهَا وَبَٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ١٦
Ola-ika allatheena laysa lahumfee al-akhirati illa annaru wahabitama sanaAAoo feeha wabatilun makanoo yaAAmaloon
QaraiThey are the ones for whom there shall be nothing in the Hereafter but Fire: what they had accomplished in the world has failed, and their works have come to naught.
Saheeh InternationalThose are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.

11:17
أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ وَيَتْلُوهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِن قَبْلِهِۦ كِتَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ فَٱلنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهُۥ ۚ فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ١٧
Afaman kana AAala bayyinatinmin rabbihi wayatloohu shahidun minhu wamin qablihi kitabumoosa imaman warahmatan ola-ikayu/minoona bihi waman yakfur bihi mina al-ahzabi fannarumawAAiduhu fala taku fee miryatin minhu innahu alhaqqumin rabbika walakinna akthara annasi layu/minoon
QaraiIs he who stands on a manifest proof from his Lord, and whom a witness of his own [family] follows? And before him there was the Book of Moses, a guide and mercy. It is they who have faith in it, and whoever defies him from among the factions, the Fire is their tryst. So do not be in doubt about it; it is the truth from your Lord, but most people do not have faith.
Saheeh InternationalSo is one who [stands] upon a clear evidence from his Lord [like the aforementioned]? And a witness from Him follows it, and before it was the Scripture of Moses to lead and as mercy. Those [believers in the former revelations] believe in it [i.e., the Qur’ān]. But whoever disbelieves in it from the [various] factions - the Fire is his promised destination. So be not in doubt about it. Indeed, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the people do not believe.

11:18
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْأَشْهَٰدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ١٨
Waman athlamu mimmani iftaraAAala Allahi kathiban ola-ika yuAAradoonaAAala rabbihim wayaqoolu al-ashhadu haola-iallatheena kathaboo AAala rabbihim alalaAAnatu Allahi AAala aththalimeen
QaraiWho is a greater wrongdoer than him who fabricates a lie against Allah? Such shall be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, ‘It is these who lied against their Lord.’ Behold! The curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers
Saheeh InternationalAnd who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allāh? Those will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord." Unquestionably, the curse of Allāh is upon the wrongdoers
-
11:19
ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلَْٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ ١٩
Allatheena yasuddoona AAansabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bil-akhiratihum kafiroon
Qarai—those who bar [others] from the way of Allah, and seek to make it crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter.
Saheeh InternationalWho averted [people] from the way of Allāh and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they, concerning the Hereafter, were disbelievers.
-
11:20
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۘ يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۚ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يُبْصِرُونَ ٢٠
Ola-ika lam yakoonoo muAAjizeena feeal-ardi wama kana lahum min dooni Allahimin awliyaa yudaAAafu lahumu alAAathabu makanoo yastateeAAoona assamAAa wama kanooyubsiroon
QaraiThey cannot frustrate [Allah] on the earth, nor do they have besides Allah any guardian. For them the punishment shall be doubled, for they could neither listen, nor did they use to see.
Saheeh InternationalThose were not causing failure [to Allāh] on earth, nor did they have besides Allāh any protectors. For them the punishment will be multiplied. They were not able to hear, nor did they see.

11:21
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ٢١
Ola-ika allatheena khasirooanfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroon
QaraiThey are the ones who have ruined their souls, and what they used to fabricate has forsaken them.
Saheeh InternationalThose are the ones who will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent.
-
11:22
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلَْٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ ٢٢
La jarama annahum fee al-akhiratihumu al-akhsaroon
QaraiUndoubtedly, they are the ones who will be the biggest losers in the Hereafter.
Saheeh InternationalAssuredly, it is they in the Hereafter who will be the greatest losers.
-
11:23
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ٢٣
Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo asalihati waakhbatoo ilarabbihim ola-ika as-habu aljannati hum feehakhalidoon
QaraiIndeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds and are humble before their Lord—they shall be the inhabitants of paradise, and they shall remain in it [forever].
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds and humbled themselves to their Lord - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide eternally therein.

11:24
۞ مَثَلُ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْأَصَمِّ وَٱلْبَصِيرِ وَٱلسَّمِيعِ ۚ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٢٤
Mathalu alfareeqayni kalaAAmawal-asammi walbaseeri wassameeAAihal yastawiyani mathalan afala tathakkaroon
QaraiThe parable of the two parties is that of one who is blind and deaf and one who sees and hears. Are they equal in comparison? Will you not then take admonition?
Saheeh InternationalThe example of the two parties is like the blind and deaf, and the seeing and hearing. Are they equal in comparison? Then, will you not remember?
-
11:25
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ٢٥
Walaqad arsalna noohan ilaqawmihi innee lakum natheerun mubeen
QaraiCertainly We sent Noah to his people [to declare]: ‘Indeed I am a manifest warner to you.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We had certainly sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Indeed, I am to you a clear warner
-
11:26
أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ ٢٦
An la taAAbudoo illa Allahainnee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin aleem
QaraiWorship none but Allah. Indeed I fear for you the punishment of a painful day.’
Saheeh InternationalThat you not worship except Allāh. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a painful day."

11:27
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَٰذِبِينَ ٢٧
Faqala almalao allatheenakafaroo min qawmihi ma naraka illa basharanmithlana wama naraka ittabaAAaka illaallatheena hum arathiluna badiya arra/yiwama nara lakum AAalayna min fadlinbal nathunnukum kathibeen
QaraiBut the elite of the faithless from among his people said, ‘We do not see you to be anything but a human being like ourselves, and we do not see anyone following you except those who are simpleminded riffraff from our midst. Nor do we see that you have any merit over us. Indeed, we consider you to be liars.’
Saheeh InternationalSo the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "We do not see you but as a man like ourselves, and we do not see you followed except by those who are the lowest of us [and] at first suggestion. And we do not see in you over us any merit; rather, we think you are liars."

11:28
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَٰرِهُونَ ٢٨
Qala ya qawmi araaytum inkuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waataneerahmatan min AAindihi faAAummiyat AAalaykum anulzimukumoohawaantum laha karihoon
QaraiHe said, ‘O my people! Tell me, should I stand on a manifest proof from my Lord, and He has granted me His own mercy—though it should be invisible to you—shall we force it upon you while you are averse to it?
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord while He has given me mercy from Himself but it has been made unapparent to you, should we force it upon you while you are averse to it?

11:29
وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ ٢٩
Waya qawmi la as-alukumAAalayhi malan in ajriya illa AAala Allahiwama ana bitaridi allatheena amanooinnahum mulaqoo rabbihim walakinnee arakumqawman tajhaloon
QaraiO my people! I do not ask you any material reward for it. My reward lies only with Allah. But I will not drive away those who have faith: they will indeed encounter their Lord. But I see that you are an ignorant lot.
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, I ask not of you for it any wealth. My reward is not but from Allāh. And I am not one to drive away those who have believed. Indeed, they will meet their Lord, but I see that you are a people behaving ignorantly.

11:30
وَيَٰقَوْمِ مَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِن طَرَدتُّهُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٣٠
Waya qawmi man yansurunee minaAllahi in taradtuhum afala tathakkaroon
QaraiO my people! Who would come to my help against Allah were I to drive them away? Will you not then take admonition?
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, who would protect me from Allāh if I drove them away? Then will you not be reminded?
-
11:31
وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ إِنِّى مَلَكٌ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ تَزْدَرِىٓ أَعْيُنُكُمْ لَن يُؤْتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرًا ۖ ٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٣١
Wala aqoolu lakum AAindee khaza-inuAllahi wala aAAlamu alghayba wala aqooluinnee malakun wala aqoolu lillatheena tazdareeaAAyunukum lan yu/tiyahumu Allahu khayran AllahuaAAlamu bima fee anfusihim innee ithan lamina aththalimeen
QaraiI do not say to you that I possess the treasuries of Allah, neither do I know the Unseen. I do not claim to be an angel, neither do I say of those who are despicable in your eyes that Allah will not grant them any good—Allah knows best what is in their hearts—for then I would indeed be a wrongdoer.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allāh or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel, nor do I say of those upon whom your eyes look down that Allāh will never grant them any good. Allāh is most knowing of what is within their souls. Indeed, I would then be among the wrongdoers [i.e., the unjust]."

11:32
قَالُوا۟ يَٰنُوحُ قَدْ جَٰدَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَٰلَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ ٣٢
Qaloo ya noohu qad jadaltanafaaktharta jidalana fa/tina bimataAAiduna in kunta mina assadiqeen
QaraiThey said, ‘O Noah, you have disputed with us already, and you have disputed with us exceedingly. Now bring us what you threaten us with, should you be truthful.
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "O Noah, you have disputed [i.e., opposed] us and been frequent in dispute of us. So bring us what you threaten us, if you should be of the truthful."

11:33
قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ ٱللَّهُ إِن شَآءَ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ ٣٣
Qala innama ya/teekum bihi Allahuin shaa wama antum bimuAAjizeen
QaraiHe said, ‘Allah will indeed bring it on you if He wishes, and you cannot frustrate [Him].
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "Allāh will only bring it to you if He wills, and you will not cause [Him] failure.
-
11:34
وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِىٓ إِنْ أَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَنصَحَ لَكُمْ إِن كَانَ ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يُغْوِيَكُمْ ۚ هُوَ رَبُّكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ٣٤
Wala yanfaAAukum nushee inaradtu an ansaha lakum in kana Allahuyureedu an yughwiyakum huwa rabbukum wa-ilayhi turjaAAoon
QaraiMy exhorting will not benefit you, much as I may seek to exhort you, if Allah desires to consign you to perversity. He is your Lord, and to Him you shall be brought back.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd my advice will not benefit you - although I wished to advise you - if Allāh should intend to put you in error. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned."

11:35
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَعَلَىَّ إِجْرَامِى وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ ٣٥
Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul iniiftaraytuhu faAAalayya ijramee waana baree-on mimmatujrimoon
QaraiDo they say, ‘He has fabricated it?’ Say, ‘Should I have fabricated it, then my guilt will be upon me, and I am absolved of your guilty conduct.’
Saheeh InternationalOr do they say [about Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)], "He invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, then upon me is [the consequence of] my crime; but I am innocent of what [crimes] you commit."

11:36
وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُۥ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ ءَامَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ ٣٦
Waoohiya ila noohinannahu lan yu/mina min qawmika illa man qad amanafala tabta-is bima kanoo yafAAaloon
QaraiIt was revealed to Noah: ‘None of your people will believe except those who already have faith; so do not sorrow for what they used to do.
Saheeh InternationalAnd it was revealed to Noah that, "No one will believe from your people except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by what they have been doing.

11:37
وَٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ ٣٧
WasnaAAi alfulka bi-aAAyuninawawahyina wala tukhatibnee fee allatheenathalamoo innahum mughraqoon
QaraiBuild the ark before Our eyes and by Our revelation, and do not plead with Me for those who are wrongdoers: they shall indeed be drowned.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are [to be] drowned."

11:38
وَيَصْنَعُ ٱلْفُلْكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَأٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِۦ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُ ۚ قَالَ إِن تَسْخَرُوا۟ مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ ٣٨
WayasnaAAu alfulka wakullamamarra AAalayhi malaon min qawmihi sakhiroo minhu qala intaskharoo minna fa-inna naskharu minkum kamataskharoon
QaraiAs he was building the ark, whenever the elders of his people passed by him, they would ridicule him. He said, ‘If you ridicule us [today], we shall ridicule you [tomorrow] just as you ridicule us [now].
Saheeh InternationalAnd he constructed the ship, and whenever an assembly of the eminent of his people passed by him, they ridiculed him. He said, "If you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule.

11:39
فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ ٣٩
Fasawfa taAAlamoona man ya/teehi AAathabunyukhzeehi wayahillu AAalayhi AAathabun muqeem
QaraiSoon you will know whom a disgraceful punishment will overtake and on whom a lasting punishment will descend.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd you are going to know who will get a punishment that will disgrace him [on earth] and upon whom will descend an enduring punishment [in the Hereafter]."

11:40
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا ٱحْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ ءَامَنَ ۚ وَمَآ ءَامَنَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ ٤٠
Hatta itha jaaamruna wafara attannooru qulna ihmilfeeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illaman sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu waman amana wama amanamaAAahu illa qaleel
QaraiWhen Our edict came and the oven gushed [a stream of water], We said, ‘Carry in it a pair of every kind [of animal], along with your family—except those [of them] against whom the edict has already been given—and those who have faith.’ And none believed with him except a few.
Saheeh International[So it was], until when Our command came and the oven overflowed, We said, "Load upon it [i.e., the ship] of each [creature] two mates and your family, except those about whom the word [i.e., decree] has preceded, and [include] whoever has believed." But none had believed with him, except a few.

11:41
۞ وَقَالَ ٱرْكَبُوا۟ فِيهَا بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ مَجْر۪ىٰهَا وَمُرْسَىٰهَآ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ٤١
Waqala irkaboo feeha bismi Allahimajraha wamursaha inna rabbeelaghafoorun raheem
QaraiHe said, ‘Board it: In the Name of Allah it shall set sail and cast anchor. Indeed my Lord is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd [Noah] said, "Embark therein; in the name of Allāh [are] its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."

11:42
وَهِىَ تَجْرِى بِهِمْ فِى مَوْجٍ كَٱلْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ٱبْنَهُۥ وَكَانَ فِى مَعْزِلٍ يَٰبُنَىَّ ٱرْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٤٢
Wahiya tajree bihim fee mawjin kaljibaliwanada noohunu ibnahu wakana feemaAAzilin ya bunayya irkab maAAana walatakun maAAa alkafireen
QaraiAnd it sailed along with them amid waves [rising] like mountains. Noah called out to his son, who stood aloof, ‘O my son! ‘Board with us, and do not be with the faithless!’
Saheeh InternationalAnd it sailed with them through waves like mountains, and Noah called to his son who was apart [from them], "O my son, come aboard with us and be not with the disbelievers."
-
11:43
قَالَ سََٔاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِى مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ ۚ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ۚ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُغْرَقِينَ ٤٣
Qala saawee ila jabalinyaAAsimunee mina alma-i qala la AAasimaalyawma min amri Allahi illa man rahima wahalabaynahuma almawju fakana mina almughraqeen
QaraiHe said, ‘I shall take refuge on a mountain; it will protect me from the flood.’ He said, ‘There is none today who can protect from Allah’s edict, except someone upon whom He has mercy.’ Then the waves came between them, and he was among those who were drowned.
Saheeh International[But] he said, "I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water." [Noah] said, "There is no protector today from the decree of Allāh, except for whom He gives mercy." And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.

11:44
وَقِيلَ يَٰٓأَرْضُ ٱبْلَعِى مَآءَكِ وَيَٰسَمَآءُ أَقْلِعِى وَغِيضَ ٱلْمَآءُ وَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَٱسْتَوَتْ عَلَى ٱلْجُودِىِّ ۖ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٤
Waqeela ya ardu iblaAAee maakiwaya samao aqliAAee wagheeda almaowaqudiya al-amru wastawat AAala aljoodiyyiwaqeela buAAdan lilqawmi aththalimeen
QaraiThen it was said, ‘O earth, swallow your water! O sky, leave off!’ The waters receded; the edict was carried out, and it settled on [Mount] Judi. Then it was said, ‘Away with the wrongdoing lot!’
Saheeh InternationalAnd it was said, "O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain]." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and it [i.e., the ship] came to rest on the [mountain of] Jūdiyy. And it was said, "Away with the wrongdoing people."

11:45
وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُۥ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ٱبْنِى مِنْ أَهْلِى وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ ٤٥
Wanada noohun rabbahufaqala rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wa-inna waAAdaka alhaqquwaanta ahkamu alhakimeen
QaraiNoah called out to his Lord, and said, ‘My Lord! My son is indeed from my family. Your promise is indeed true, and You are the fairest of all judges.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!"

11:46
قَالَ يَٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَٰلِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسَْٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ ٤٦
Qala ya noohu innahulaysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru salihin falatas-alni ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun innee aAAithukaan takoona mina aljahileen
QaraiSaid He, ‘O Noah! Indeed, He is not of your family. Indeed, he is [personification of] unrighteous conduct. So do not ask Me [something] of which you have no knowledge. I advise you lest you should be among the ignorant.’
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "O Noah, indeed he is not of your family; indeed, he is [one whose] work was other than righteous, so ask Me not for that about which you have no knowledge. Indeed, I advise you, lest you be among the ignorant."

11:47
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسَْٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ٤٧
Qala rabbi innee aAAoothu bikaan as-alaka ma laysa lee bihi AAilmun wa-illataghfir lee watarhamnee akun mina alkhasireen
QaraiHe said, ‘My Lord! I seek Your protection lest I should ask You something of which I have no knowledge. If You do not forgive me and have mercy upon me I shall be among the losers.’
Saheeh International[Noah] said, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers."

11:48
قِيلَ يَٰنُوحُ ٱهْبِطْ بِسَلَٰمٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَٰتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ ۚ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ٤٨
Qeela ya noohu ihbitbisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAalaomamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhumminna AAathabun aleem
QaraiIt was said, ‘O Noah! Disembark in peace from Us and with [Our] blessings upon you and upon nations [to descend] from those who are with you, and nations whom We shall provide for, then a painful punishment from Us shall befall them.’
Saheeh InternationalIt was said, "O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations [descending] from those with you. But other nations [of them] We will grant enjoyment; then there will touch them from Us a painful punishment."

11:49
تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَآ إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَآ أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَٰذَا ۖ فَٱصْبِرْ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْعَٰقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ٤٩
Tilka min anba-i alghaybi nooheehailayka ma kunta taAAlamuha anta wala qawmukamin qabli hatha fasbir inna alAAaqibatalilmuttaqeen
QaraiThese are accounts of the Unseen, which We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people used to know them before this. So be patient. Indeed the outcome will be in favour of the Godwary.
Saheeh InternationalThat is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muḥammad]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the [best] outcome is for the righteous.
-
11:50
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَ ٥٠
Wa-ila AAadin akhahumhoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha malakum min ilahin ghayruhu in antum illa muftaroon
QaraiAnd to ‘Ad [We sent] Hud, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no other god besides Him: you merely fabricate [the deities that you worship].
Saheeh InternationalAnd to ʿAad [We sent] their brother Hūd. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].
-
11:51
يَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِىٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ٥١
Ya qawmi la as-alukum AAalayhiajran in ajriya illa AAala allathee fataraneeafala taAAqiloon
Qarai‘O my people! I do not ask you any reward for it. My reward lies only with Him who originated me. Do you not exercise your reason?
Saheeh InternationalO my people, I do not ask you for it [i.e., my advice] any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?
-
11:52
وَيَٰقَوْمِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ ٥٢
Waya qawmi istaghfiroo rabbakumthumma tooboo ilayhi yursili assamaa AAalaykummidraran wayazidkum quwwatan ila quwwatikum walatatawallaw mujrimeen
Qarai‘O my people! Plead with your Lord for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently: He will send copious rains for you from the sky, and add power to your [present] power. So do not turn your backs [on Him] as guilty ones.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals."

11:53
قَالُوا۟ يَٰهُودُ مَا جِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِىٓ ءَالِهَتِنَا عَن قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ٥٣
Qaloo ya hoodu maji/tana bibayyinatin wama nahnu bitarikeealihatina AAan qawlika wama nahnulaka bimu/mineen
QaraiThey said, ‘O Hud, you have not brought us any manifest proof. We are not going to abandon our gods for what you say, and we are not going to believe you.
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "O Hūd, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you.

11:54
إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ بَعْضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٍ ۗ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟ أَنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ ٥٤
In naqoolu illa iAAtaraka baAAdualihatina bisoo-in qala innee oshhidu Allahawashhadoo annee baree-on mimma tushrikoon
QaraiAll we say is that some of our gods have visited you with some evil.’ He said, ‘I call Allah to witness—and you too be [my] witnesses—that I repudiate what you take as [His] partners
Saheeh InternationalWe only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil [i.e., insanity]." He said, "Indeed, I call Allāh to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allāh

11:55
مِن دُونِهِۦ ۖ فَكِيدُونِى جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ ٥٥
Min doonihi fakeedoonee jameeAAan thumma latunthiroon
Qaraibesides Him. Now try out your stratagems against me, together, without granting me any respite.
Saheeh InternationalOther than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite.
-
11:56
إِنِّى تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رَبِّى وَرَبِّكُم ۚ مَّا مِن دَآبَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ ءَاخِذٌۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ٥٦
Innee tawakkaltu AAala Allahirabbee warabbikum ma min dabbatin illa huwa akhithunbinasiyatiha inna rabbee AAala siratinmustaqeem
QaraiIndeed I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no living being but He holds it by its forelock. Indeed my Lord is on a straight path.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, I have relied upon Allāh, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds it by its forelock [i.e., controls it]. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight.

11:57
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَئًْا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ ٥٧
Fa-in tawallaw faqad ablaghtukum maorsiltu bihi ilaykum wayastakhlifu rabbee qawman ghayrakum walatadurroonahu shay-an inna rabbee AAala kullishay-in hafeeth
QaraiBut if you turn your backs [on me], then [know that] I have communicated to you whatever I was sent to you with. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not hurt Allah in the least. Indeed my Lord is watchful over all things.’
Saheeh InternationalBut if you turn away, then I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian."

11:58
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ ٥٨
Walamma jaa amrunanajjayna hoodan wallatheena amanoomaAAahu birahmatin minna wanajjaynahum minAAathabin ghaleeth
QaraiWhen Our edict came, We delivered Hud and the faithful who were with him, by a mercy from Us, and We delivered them from a harsh punishment.
Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our command came, We saved Hūd and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment.

11:59
وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ ۖ جَحَدُوا۟ بَِٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا۟ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ ٥٩
Watilka AAadun jahadoo bi-ayatirabbihim waAAasaw rusulahu wattabaAAoo amra kullijabbarin AAaneed
QaraiSuch were [the people of] Ad: they impugned the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His apostles, and followed the dictates of every obstinate tyrant.
Saheeh InternationalAnd that was ʿAad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.

11:60
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ ٦٠
WaotbiAAoo fee hathihi addunyalaAAnatan wayawma alqiyamati ala inna AAadankafaroo rabbahum ala buAAdan liAAadin qawmi hood
QaraiSo they were pursued by a curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. Behold! ‘Ad indeed defied their Lord. Now, away with ‘Ad, the people of Hud!
Saheeh InternationalAnd they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, ʿAad denied their Lord; then away with ʿAad, the people of Hūd.

11:61
۞ وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًا ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى قَرِيبٌ مُّجِيبٌ ٦١
Wa-ila thamooda akhahum salihanqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha malakum min ilahin ghayruhu huwa anshaakum mina al-ardiwastaAAmarakum feeha fastaghfiroohu thummatooboo ilayhi inna rabbee qareebun mujeeb
QaraiAnd to Thamud [We sent] Salih, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no other god besides Him. He brought you forth from the earth and made it your habitation. So plead with Him for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently. My Lord is indeed nearmost [and] responsive.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd to Thamūd [We sent] their brother Ṣāliḥ. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive."

11:62
قَالُوا۟ يَٰصَٰلِحُ قَدْ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَٰذَآ ۖ أَتَنْهَىٰنَآ أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَإِنَّنَا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ ٦٢
Qaloo ya salihuqad kunta feena marjuwwan qabla hatha atanhanaan naAAbuda ma yaAAbudu abaonawa-innana lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonailayhi mureeb
QaraiThey said, ‘O Salih! You were a source of hope to us before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers have been worshiping? Indeed we have grave doubts concerning that to which you invite us.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "O Ṣāliḥ, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."

11:63
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ عَصَيْتُهُۥ ۖ فَمَا تَزِيدُونَنِى غَيْرَ تَخْسِيرٍ ٦٣
Qala ya qawmi araaytum inkuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waataneeminhu rahmatan faman yansurunee mina Allahiin AAasaytuhu fama tazeedoonanee ghayra takhseer
QaraiHe said, ‘O my people! Tell me, should I stand on a manifest proof from my Lord, and He has granted me His own mercy, who will protect me from Allah should I disobey Him? For then you will increase me in nothing but loss.
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allāh if I disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me except in loss.

11:64
وَيَٰقَوْمِ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ قَرِيبٌ ٦٤
Waya qawmi hathihi naqatuAllahi lakum ayatan fatharooha ta/kulfee ardi Allahi wala tamassoohabisoo-in faya/khuthakum AAathabun qareeb
QaraiO my people! This she-camel of Allah is a sign for you. Let her graze [freely] in Allah’s land, and do not cause her any harm, for then you shall be seized by a prompt punishment.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, this is the she-camel of Allāh - [she is] to you a sign. So let her feed upon Allāh's earth and do not touch her with harm, or you will be taken by an impending punishment."

11:65
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ فِى دَارِكُمْ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوبٍ ٦٥
FaAAaqarooha faqalatamattaAAoo fee darikum thalathata ayyamin thalikawaAAdun ghayru makthoob
QaraiBut they hamstrung her, whereupon he said, ‘Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: that is a promise not to be belied!’
Saheeh InternationalBut they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied [i.e., unfailing]."

11:66
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صَٰلِحًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْىِ يَوْمِئِذٍ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْقَوِىُّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٦٦
Falamma jaa amrunanajjayna salihan wallatheena amanoomaAAahu birahmatin minna wamin khizyi yawmi-ithininna rabbaka huwa alqawiyyu alAAazeez
QaraiSo when Our edict came, We delivered Salih and the faithful who were with him by a mercy from Us and from the [punishment and] disgrace of that day. Your Lord is indeed the All-strong, the All-mighty.
Saheeh InternationalSo when Our command came, We saved Ṣāliḥ and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and [saved them] from the disgrace of that day. Indeed, it is your Lord who is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

11:67
وَأَخَذَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَٰرِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ ٦٧
Waakhatha allatheena thalamooassayhatu faasbahoo fee diyarihimjathimeen
QaraiThe Cry seized those who were wrongdoers, and they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes,
Saheeh InternationalAnd the shriek seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen prone
-
11:68
كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ ثَمُودَا۟ كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّثَمُودَ ٦٨
Kaan lam yaghnaw feeha alainna thamooda kafaroo rabbahum ala buAAdan lithamood
Qaraias if they had never lived there. Behold! Thamud indeed defied their Lord. Now, away with Thamud!
Saheeh InternationalAs if they had never prospered therein. Unquestionably, Thamūd denied their Lord; then, away with Thamūd.

11:69
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ ۖ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيذٍ ٦٩
Walaqad jaat rusuluna ibraheemabilbushra qaloo salaman qalasalamun fama labitha an jaa biAAijlin haneeth
QaraiCertainly Our messengers came to Abraham with the good news, and said, ‘Peace!’ ‘Peace!’ He replied. Presently he brought [for them] a roasted calf.
Saheeh InternationalAnd certainly did Our messengers [i.e., angels] come to Abraham with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and did not delay in bringing [them] a roasted calf.

11:70
فَلَمَّا رَءَآ أَيْدِيَهُمْ لَا تَصِلُ إِلَيْهِ نَكِرَهُمْ وَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۚ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ٧٠
Falamma raa aydiyahum latasilu ilayhi nakirahum waawjasa minhum kheefatan qaloola takhaf inna orsilna ila qawmi loot
QaraiBut when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he took them amiss and felt a fear of them. They said, ‘Do not be afraid. We have been sent to the people of Lot.’
Saheeh InternationalBut when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not. We have been sent to the people of Lot."

11:71
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَٰهَا بِإِسْحَٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ ٧١
Wamraatuhu qa-imatun fadahikatfabashsharnaha bi-ishaqa wamin wara-iishaqa yaAAqoob
QaraiHis wife, standing by, laughed as We gave her the good news of [the birth of] Isaac, and of Jacob, after Isaac.
Saheeh InternationalAnd his wife was standing, and she smiled. Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac and after Isaac, Jacob.

11:72
قَالَتْ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ ءَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا۠ عَجُوزٌ وَهَٰذَا بَعْلِى شَيْخًا ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ ٧٢
Qalat ya waylata aaliduwaana AAajoozun wahatha baAAlee shaykhan inna hathalashay-on AAajeeb
QaraiShe said, ‘Oh, my! Shall I, an old woman, bear [children], and [while] this husband of mine is an old man?! That is indeed an odd thing!’
Saheeh InternationalShe said, "Woe to me! Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is an amazing thing!"

11:73
قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ رَحْمَتُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَمِيدٌ مَّجِيدٌ ٧٣
Qaloo ataAAjabeena min amri Allahirahmatu Allahi wabarakatuhu AAalaykum ahlaalbayti innahu hameedun majeed
QaraiThey said, ‘Are you amazed at Allah’s dispensation? [That is] Allah’s mercy and His blessings upon you, members of the household. Indeed He is all-laudable, all-glorious.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allāh? May the mercy of Allāh and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."

11:74
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ٧٤
Falamma thahaba AAan ibraheemaarrawAAu wajaat-hu albushra yujadilunafee qawmi loot
QaraiSo when the awe had left Abraham and the good news had reached him, he pleaded with Us concerning the people of Lot.
Saheeh InternationalAnd when the fright had left Abraham and the good tidings had reached him, he began to argue [i.e., plead] with Us concerning the people of Lot.

11:75
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّٰهٌ مُّنِيبٌ ٧٥
Inna ibraheema lahaleemun awwahunmuneeb
QaraiAbraham was indeed most forbearing, plaintive, [and] penitent.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, Abraham was forbearing, grieving and [frequently] returning [to Allāh].
-
11:76
يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَٰذَآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَإِنَّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ ٧٦
Ya ibraheemu aAAridAAan hatha innahu qad jaa amru rabbika wa-innahum ateehimAAathabun ghayru mardood
Qarai‘O Abraham, let this matter alone! Your Lord’s edict has certainly come, and an irrevocable punishment shall overtake them.’
Saheeh International[The angels said], "O Abraham, give up this [plea]. Indeed, the command of your Lord has come, and indeed, there will reach them a punishment that cannot be repelled."

11:77
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ ٧٧
Walamma jaat rusulunalootan see-a bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqalahatha yawmun AAaseeb
QaraiWhen Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed on their account and in a predicament for their sake, and he said, ‘This is a terrible day!’
Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our messengers, [the angels], came to Lot, he was anguished for them and felt for them great discomfort and said, "This is a trying day."

11:78
وَجَآءَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّئَِّاتِ ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِى هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِى ضَيْفِىٓ ۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ ٧٨
Wajaahu qawmuhu yuhraAAoona ilayhiwamin qablu kanoo yaAAmaloona assayyi-ati qalaya qawmi haola-i banatee hunna atharulakum fattaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni fee dayfeealaysa minkum rajulun rasheed
QaraiThen his people came running toward him, and they had been committing vices aforetime. He said, ‘O my people, these are my daughters: they are purer for you. Be wary of Allah and do not humiliate me with regard to my guests. Is there not a right-minded man among you?’
Saheeh InternationalAnd his people came hastening to him, and before [this] they had been doing evil deeds. He said, "O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allāh and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there not among you a man of reason?"

11:79
قَالُوا۟ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِى بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ ٧٩
Qaloo laqad AAalimta ma lanafee banatika min haqqin wa-innaka lataAAlamu manureed
QaraiThey said, ‘You certainly know that we have no interest in your daughters, and indeed you know what we want.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "You have already known that we have not concerning your daughters [i.e., women] any claim [i.e., desire], and indeed, you know what we want."

11:80
قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِى بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ ءَاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ ٨٠
Qala law anna lee bikum quwwatan aw aweeila ruknin shadeed
QaraiHe said, ‘If only I had the power to deter you, or could take refuge in a mighty support!’
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong support."

11:81
قَالُوا۟ يَٰلُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكَ ۖ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَكَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ مُصِيبُهَا مَآ أَصَابَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ ٱلصُّبْحُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ ٱلصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ ٨١
Qaloo ya lootu innarusulu rabbika lan yasiloo ilayka faasri bi-ahlika biqitAAinmina allayli wala yaltafit minkum ahadun illaimraataka innahu museebuha ma asabahuminna mawAAidahumu assubhu alaysa assubhubiqareeb
QaraiThey said, ‘O Lot, we are messengers of your Lord. They will never get at you. Set out with your family in a watch of the night; and none of you shall turn round, except your wife; indeed she will be struck by what strikes them. Indeed their tryst is the dawn. Is not the dawn [already] near?’
Saheeh InternationalThey [the angels] said, "O Lot, indeed we are messengers of your Lord; [therefore], they will never reach you. So set out with your family during a portion of the night and let not any among you look back - except your wife; indeed, she will be struck by that which strikes them. Indeed, their appointment is [for] the morning. Is not the morning near?"

11:82
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ ٨٢
Falamma jaa amrunajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilahawaamtarna AAalayha hijaratanmin sijjeelin mandood
QaraiSo when Our edict came, We made its topmost part its nethermost, and We rained on it stones of laminar shale,
Saheeh InternationalSo when Our command came, We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of layered hard clay, [which were]
-
11:83
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَمَا هِىَ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ ٨٣
Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika wama hiyamina aththalimeena bibaAAeed
Qaraisent in from your Lord [for the profligate], never far from the wrongdoers.
Saheeh InternationalMarked from your Lord. And it [i.e., Allāh's punishment] is not from the wrongdoers [very] far.
-
11:84
۞ وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ وَلَا تَنقُصُوا۟ ٱلْمِكْيَالَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ ۚ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُم بِخَيْرٍ وَإِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيطٍ ٨٤
Wa-ila madyana akhahumshuAAayban qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha malakum min ilahin ghayruhu wala tanqusooalmikyala walmeezana innee arakumbikhayrin wa-innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawminmuheet
QaraiAnd to Midian [We sent] Shu‘ayb, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no other god besides Him. Do not diminish the measure or the balance. Indeed I see that you are faring well, but I fear for you the punishment of an all-embracing day.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. And do not decrease from the measure and the scale. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, but indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing Day.

11:85
وَيَٰقَوْمِ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْمِكْيَالَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ٨٥
Waya qawmi awfoo almikyala walmeezanabilqisti wala tabkhasoo annasaashyaahum wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideen
Qarai‘O my people! Observe fully the measure and the balance, with justice, and do not cheat the people of their goods, and do not act wickedly on the earth, causing corruption.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, give full measure and weight in justice and do not deprive the people of their due and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.

11:86
بَقِيَّتُ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ۚ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍ ٨٦
Baqiyyatu Allahi khayrun lakum inkuntum mu/mineena wama ana AAalaykum bihafeeth
Qarai‘What remains of Allah’s provision is better for you, should you be faithful, and I am not a keeper over you.’
Saheeh InternationalWhat remains [lawful] from Allāh is best for you, if you would be believers. But I am not a guardian over you."

11:87
قَالُوا۟ يَٰشُعَيْبُ أَصَلَوٰتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَن نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَآ أَوْ أَن نَّفْعَلَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِنَا مَا نَشَٰٓؤُا۟ ۖ إِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ ٱلْحَلِيمُ ٱلرَّشِيدُ ٨٧
Qaloo ya shuAAaybu asalatukata/muruka an natruka ma yaAAbudu abaonaaw an nafAAala fee amwalina ma nashaoinnaka laanta alhaleemu arrasheed
QaraiThey said, ‘O Shu‘ayb, does your worship require that we abandon what our fathers have been worshiping, or that we should not do with our wealth whatever we wish? You are indeed [a] gentle and sensible [person].’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "O Shuʿayb, does your prayer [i.e., religion] command you that we should leave what our fathers worship or not do with our wealth what we please? Indeed, you are the forbearing, the discerning!"

11:88
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۚ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ ۚ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ ۚ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ ٨٨
Qala ya qawmi araaytum inkuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee warazaqanee minhu rizqanhasanan wama oreedu an okhalifakum ilama anhakum AAanhu in oreedu illa al-islahama istataAAtu wama tawfeeqee illa billahiAAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneeb
QaraiHe said, ‘O my people! Have you considered, should I stand on a manifest proof from my Lord, who has provided me a good provision from Himself? I do not wish to oppose you by what I forbid you. I only desire to put things in order, as far as I can, and my success lies only with Allah: in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn penitently.
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "O my people, have you considered: if I am upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has provided me with a good provision from Him...? And I do not intend to differ from you in that which I have forbidden you; I only intend reform as much as I am able. And my success is not but through Allāh. Upon Him I have relied, and to Him I return.

11:89
وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِىٓ أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثْلُ مَآ أَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَٰلِحٍ ۚ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍ ٨٩
Waya qawmi la yajrimannakumshiqaqee an yuseebakum mithlu ma asabaqawma noohin aw qawma hoodin aw qawma salihinwama qawmu lootin minkum bibaAAeed
QaraiO my people, do not let your defiance toward me lead you to be visited by the like of what was visited on the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih, and the people of Lot are not distant from you.
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, let not [your] dissension from me cause you to be struck by that similar to what struck the people of Noah or the people of Hūd or the people of Ṣāliḥ. And the people of Lot are not from you far away.
-
11:90
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ ٩٠
Wastaghfiroo rabbakum thumma toobooilayhi inna rabbee raheemun wadood
QaraiPlead with your Lord for forgiveness, then turn to Him penitently. My Lord is indeed all-merciful, all-affectionate.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Affectionate."
-
11:91
قَالُوا۟ يَٰشُعَيْبُ مَا نَفْقَهُ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا تَقُولُ وَإِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفًا ۖ وَلَوْلَا رَهْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنَٰكَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيزٍ ٩١
Qaloo ya shuAAaybu manafqahu katheeran mimma taqoolu wa-inna lanarakafeena daAAeefan walawla rahtukalarajamnaka wama anta AAalayna biAAazeez
QaraiThey said, ‘O Shu‘ayb, we do not understand much of what you say. Indeed we see that you are weak amongst us, and were it not for your tribe, we would have stoned you, and you are not a formidable [challenge] for us.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "O Shuʿayb, we do not understand much of what you say, and indeed, we consider you among us as weak. And if not for your family, we would have stoned you [to death]; and you are not to us one respected."

11:92
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَهْطِىٓ أَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ وَرَآءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا ۖ إِنَّ رَبِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ ٩٢
Qala ya qawmi arahteeaAAazzu AAalaykum mina Allahi wattakhathtumoohuwaraakum thihriyyan inna rabbee bimataAAmaloona muheet
QaraiHe said, ‘O my people! Is my tribe more formidable in your sight than Allah, to whom you pay no regard? Indeed my Lord comprehends whatever you do.
Saheeh InternationalHe said, "O my people, is my family more respected for power by you than Allāh? But you put Him behind your backs [in neglect]. Indeed, my Lord is encompassing of what you do.
-
11:93
وَيَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّى عَٰمِلٌ ۖ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ كَٰذِبٌ ۖ وَٱرْتَقِبُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُمْ رَقِيبٌ ٩٣
Waya qawmi iAAmaloo AAala makanatikuminnee AAamilun sawfa taAAlamoona man ya/teehi AAathabunyukhzeehi waman huwa kathibun wartaqiboo innemaAAakum raqeeb
QaraiO my people! Act according to your ability; I too am acting. Soon you will know who will be overtaken by a punishment that will disgrace him, and who is a liar. So be on the watch; I too will be watching along with you.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd O my people, work according to your position; indeed, I am working. You are going to know to whom will come a punishment that will disgrace him and who is a liar. So watch; indeed, I am with you a watcher, [awaiting the outcome]."

11:94
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَٰرِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ ٩٤
Walamma jaa amrunanajjayna shuAAayban wallatheena amanoomaAAahu birahmatin minna waakhathati allatheenathalamoo assayhatu faasbahoofee diyarihim jathimeen
QaraiWhen Our edict came, We delivered Shu‘ayb and the faithful who were with him by a mercy from Us. And the Cry seized those who were wrongdoers, whereat they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes,
Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our command came, We saved Shuʿayb and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us. And the shriek seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen prone
-
11:95
كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُودُ ٩٥
Kaan lam yaghnaw feeha alabuAAdan limadyana kama baAAidat thamood
Qaraias if they had never lived there. Behold, away with Midian!—just as Thamud was done away with!
Saheeh InternationalAs if they had never prospered therein. Then, away with Madyan as Thamūd was taken away.
-
11:96
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بَِٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ٩٦
Walaqad arsalna moosa bi-ayatinawasultanin mubeen
QaraiCertainly We sent Moses with Our signs and a manifest authority
Saheeh InternationalAnd We did certainly send Moses with Our signs and a clear authority
-
11:97
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۖ وَمَآ أَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيدٍ ٩٧
Ila firAAawna wamala-ihi fattabaAAooamra firAAawna wama amru firAAawna birasheed
Qaraito Pharaoh and his elite, but they followed Pharaoh’s dictates, and Pharaoh’s dictates were not right-minded.
Saheeh InternationalTo Pharaoh and his establishment, but they followed the command of Pharaoh, and the command of Pharaoh was not [at all] discerning.

11:98
يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْوِرْدُ ٱلْمَوْرُودُ ٩٨
Yaqdumu qawmahu yawma alqiyamatifaawradahumu annara wabi/sa alwirdu almawrood
QaraiOn the Day of Resurrection he will lead his people and conduct them into the Fire: an evil goal for the incoming!
Saheeh InternationalHe will precede his people on the Day of Resurrection and lead them into the Fire; and wretched is the place to which they are led.
-
11:99
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟ فِى هَٰذِهِۦ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۚ بِئْسَ ٱلرِّفْدُ ٱلْمَرْفُودُ ٩٩
WaotbiAAoo fee hathihi laAAnatanwayawma alqiyamati bi/sa arrifdu almarfood
QaraiThey are pursued by a curse in this [world], as well as on the Day of Resurrection; evil is the award conferred [upon them]!
Saheeh InternationalAnd they were followed in this [world] with a curse and on the Day of Resurrection. And wretched is the gift which is given.
-
11:100
ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّهُۥ عَلَيْكَ ۖ مِنْهَا قَآئِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ ١٠٠
Thalika min anba-i alquranaqussuhu AAalayka minha qa-imun wahaseed
QaraiThese are from the accounts of the townships, which We recount to you. Of them, there are some that still stand, and some that have been mown down.
Saheeh InternationalThat is from the news of the cities, which We relate to you; of them, some are [still] standing and some are [as] a harvest [mowed down].
-
11:101
وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ۖ فَمَآ أَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ ءَالِهَتُهُمُ ٱلَّتِى يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ لَّمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَمَا زَادُوهُمْ غَيْرَ تَتْبِيبٍ ١٠١
Wama thalamnahumwalakin thalamoo anfusahum famaaghnat AAanhum alihatuhumu allatee yadAAoona min dooni Allahimin shay-in lamma jaa amru rabbika wama zadoohumghayra tatbeeb
QaraiWe did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. When your Lord’s edict came, their gods whom they would invoke besides Allah were of no avail to them in any wise, and they did not increase them in anything but ruin.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than Allāh when there came the command of your Lord. And they did not increase them in other than ruin.

11:102
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَآ أَخَذَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَهِىَ ظَٰلِمَةٌ ۚ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُۥٓ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ ١٠٢
Wakathalika akhthu rabbika ithaakhatha alqura wahiya thalimatuninna akhthahu aleemun shadeed
QaraiSuch is the seizing of your Lord when He seizes the townships that are wrongdoing. Indeed His seizing is painful and severe.
Saheeh InternationalAnd thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe.

11:103
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لََٔايَةً لِّمَنْ خَافَ عَذَابَ ٱلَْٔاخِرَةِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوعٌ لَّهُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّشْهُودٌ ١٠٣
Inna fee thalika laayatanliman khafa AAathaba al-akhirati thalikayawmun majmooAAun lahu annasu wathalikayawmun mashhoodun
QaraiThere is indeed a sign in that for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a day on which all mankind will be gathered, and it is a day witnessed [by all creatures].
Saheeh InternationalIndeed in that is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed.
-
11:104
وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ إِلَّا لِأَجَلٍ مَّعْدُودٍ ١٠٤
Wama nu-akhkhiruhu illali-ajalin maAAdood
QaraiAnd We do not defer it but for a determinate term.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We do not delay it except for a limited term.
-
11:105
يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لَا تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِىٌّ وَسَعِيدٌ ١٠٥
Yawma ya/ti la takallamu nafsun illabi-ithnihi faminhum shaqiyyun wasaAAeed
QaraiThe day it comes, no one shall speak except by His leave. [On that day,] some of them will be wretched and [some] felicitous.
Saheeh InternationalThe Day it comes no soul will speak except by His permission. And among them will be the wretched and the prosperous.
-
11:106
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ شَقُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلنَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ ١٠٦
Faamma allatheena shaqoofafee annari lahum feeha zafeerun washaheeq
QaraiAs for the wretched, they shall be in the Fire: their lot therein will be groaning and wailing.
Saheeh InternationalAs for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling.
-
11:107
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ ١٠٧
Khalideena feeha ma damatiassamawatu wal-ardu illama shaa rabbuka inna rabbaka faAAAAalun limayureed
QaraiThey shall remain in it for as long as the heavens and the earth endure—except what your Lord may wish; indeed your Lord does whatever He desires.
Saheeh International[They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends.
-
11:108
۞ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ سُعِدُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ ۖ عَطَآءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوذٍ ١٠٨
Waamma allatheena suAAidoofafee aljannati khalideena feeha ma damatiassamawatu wal-ardu illama shaa rabbuka AAataan ghayra majthooth
QaraiAs for the felicitous, they will be in paradise. They will remain in it for as long as the heavens and the earth endure—except what your Lord may wish—an endless bounty.
Saheeh InternationalAnd as for those who were [destined to be] prosperous, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will - a bestowal uninterrupted.
-
11:109
فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّمَّا يَعْبُدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚ مَا يَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُهُم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ وَإِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوهُمْ نَصِيبَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَنقُوصٍ ١٠٩
Fala taku fee miryatin mimmayaAAbudu haola-i ma yaAAbudoona illakama yaAAbudu abaohum min qablu wa-innalamuwaffoohum naseebahum ghayra manqoos
QaraiSo do not be in doubt about what these worship: they worship just as their fathers worshiped before, and We shall surely pay them their full share, undiminished.
Saheeh InternationalSo do not be in doubt, [O Muḥammad], as to what these [polytheists] are worshipping. They worship not except as their fathers worshipped before. And indeed, We will give them their share undiminished.

11:110
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ فَٱخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ ١١٠
Walaqad atayna moosaalkitaba fakhtulifa feehi walawla kalimatunsabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum wa-innahum lafeeshakkin minhu mureeb
QaraiCertainly We gave Moses the Book, but differences arose about it, and were it not for a prior decree of your Lord, a decision would have been made between them; indeed they are in grave doubt concerning it.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We had certainly given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.
-
11:111
وَإِنَّ كُلًّا لَّمَّا لَيُوَفِّيَنَّهُمْ رَبُّكَ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ ١١١
Wa-inna kullan lammalayuwaffiyannahum rabbuka aAAmalahum innahu bimayaAAmaloona khabeer
QaraiYour Lord will indeed recompense everyone fully for their works. Indeed, He is well aware of what they do.
Saheeh InternationalAnd indeed, each [of the believers and disbelievers] - your Lord will fully compensate them for their deeds. Indeed, He is Aware of what they do.
-
11:112
فَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ١١٢
Fastaqim kama omirta waman tabamaAAaka wala tatghaw innahu bima taAAmaloonabaseer
QaraiSo be steadfast, just as you have been commanded—[you] and whoever has turned [to Allah] with you—and do not overstep the bounds. Indeed, He watches what you do.
Saheeh InternationalSo remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allāh], and do not transgress. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.
-
11:113
وَلَا تَرْكَنُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ ١١٣
Wala tarkanoo ila allatheenathalamoo fatamassakumu annaru wamalakum min dooni Allahi min awliyaa thumma latunsaroon
QaraiDo not incline toward the wrongdoers, lest the Fire should touch you, and you will not have any friend besides Allah; then you will not be helped.
Saheeh InternationalAnd do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire, and you would not have other than Allāh any protectors; then you would not be helped.
-
11:114
وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ ٱلسَّئَِّاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ ١١٤
Waaqimi assalata tarafayiannahari wazulafan mina allayli inna alhasanatiyuthhibna assayyi-ati thalika thikraliththakireen
QaraiMaintain the prayer at the two ends of the day, and during the early hours of the night. Indeed good deeds efface misdeeds. That is an admonition for the mindful.
Saheeh InternationalAnd establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

11:115
وَٱصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ١١٥
Wasbir fa-inna Allahala yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineen
QaraiAnd be patient; indeed Allah does not waste the reward of the virtuous.
Saheeh InternationalAnd be patient, for indeed, Allāh does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good.

11:116
فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْفَسَادِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۗ وَٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَآ أُتْرِفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ ١١٦
Falawla kana mina alquroonimin qablikum oloo baqiyyatin yanhawna AAani alfasadi feeal-ardi illa qaleelan mimman anjayna minhumwattabaAAa allatheena thalamoo maotrifoo feehi wakanoo mujrimeen
QaraiWhy were there not among the generations before you a remnant [of the wise] who might forbid corruption in the earth, except a few of those whom We delivered from among them? Those who were wrongdoers pursued that in which they had been granted affluence, and they were a guilty lot.
Saheeh InternationalSo why were there not among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth - except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals.

11:117
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ ١١٧
Wama kana rabbuka liyuhlikaalqura bithulmin waahluha muslihoon
QaraiYour Lord would never destroy the townships unjustly while their inhabitants were bringing about reform.
Saheeh InternationalAnd your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers.

11:118
وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً ۖ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ ١١٨
Walaw shaa rabbuka lajaAAala annasaommatan wahidatan wala yazaloonamukhtalifeen
QaraiHad your Lord wished, He would have made mankind one community; but they continue to differ,
Saheeh InternationalAnd if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ,

11:119
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ ۚ وَلِذَٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ ۗ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ١١٩
Illa man rahima rabbuka walithalikakhalaqahum watammat kalimatu rabbika laamlaanna jahannama minaaljinnati wannasi ajmaAAeen
Qaraiexcept those on whom your Lord has mercy—and that is why He created them—and the word of your Lord has been fulfilled: ‘I will surely fill hell with jinn and humans, all together!’
Saheeh InternationalExcept whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together."

11:120
وَكُلًّا نَّقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ ۚ وَجَآءَكَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٢٠
Wakullan naqussu AAalayka min anba-iarrusuli ma nuthabbitu bihi fu-adaka wajaakafee hathihi alhaqqu wamawAAithatun wathikralilmu/mineen
QaraiWhatever We relate to you of the accounts of the apostles are those by which We strengthen your heart, and there has come to you in this [surah] the truth and an advice and admonition for the faithful.
Saheeh InternationalAnd each [story] We relate to you from the news of the messengers is that by which We make firm your heart. And there has come to you, in this, the truth and an instruction and a reminder for the believers.

11:121
وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنَّا عَٰمِلُونَ ١٢١
Waqul lillatheena layu/minoona iAAmaloo AAala makanatikum innaAAamiloon
QaraiSay to those who do not have faith, ‘Act according to your ability; we too are acting.
Saheeh InternationalAnd say to those who do not believe, "Work according to your position; indeed, we are working.

11:122
وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ ١٢٢
Wantathiroo innamuntathiroon
QaraiAnd wait! We too are waiting.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd wait; indeed, we are waiting."
-
11:123
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ ٱلْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ١٢٣
Walillahi ghaybu assamawatiwal-ardi wa-ilayhi yurjaAAu al-amru kulluhu faAAbudhuwatawakkal AAalayhi wama rabbuka bighafilin AAammataAAmaloon
QaraiTo Allah belongs the Unseen of the heavens and the earth, and to Him all matters are returned. So worship Him and trust in Him. Your Lord is not oblivious of what you do.
Saheeh InternationalAnd to Allāh belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do.
