بِسْمِ
-
15:1
ا
لٓ ر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰ تُٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ وَقُرْءَانٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ١Alif-lam-ra tilka ayatualkitabi waqur-anin mubeen
Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the signs of the Book and a manifest Quran.Ali Quli Qarai
Alif, Lām, Rā. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur’ān [i.e., recitation].Saheeh International
-
15:2
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ
ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِي نَ ٢Rubama yawaddu allatheenakafaroo law kanoo muslimeen
Much will the faithless wish that they had been Muslims.Ali Quli Qarai
Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims.Saheeh International
-
15:3
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُو
ا۟ وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَيُلْهِهِمُٱ لْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُو نَ ٣Tharhum ya/kuloo wayatamattaAAoowayulhihimu al-amalu fasawfa yaAAlamoon
Leave them to eat and enjoy and to be diverted by longings. Soon they will know.Ali Quli Qarai
Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know.Saheeh International

15:4
وَم
َآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن ق َرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ ۭم َّعْلُو مٌۭ ٤Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illawalaha kitabun maAAloom
We did not destroy any town but that it had a known term.Ali Quli Qarai
And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree.Saheeh International
-
15:5
مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُ
مّ َةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَْٔخِرُو نَ ٥Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalahawama yasta/khiroon
No nation can advance its time nor can it defer it.Ali Quli Qarai
No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter.Saheeh International

15:6
وَقَالُو
ا۟ يَٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لَّذِى نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِٱ ل ذِّكْرُ إِنّ َكَ لَمَجْ نُو نٌۭ ٦Waqaloo ya ayyuha allatheenuzzila AAalayhi aththikru innaka lamajnoon
They said, ‘O you, to whom the Reminder has been sent down, you are indeed crazy.Ali Quli Qarai
And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.Saheeh International
-
15:7
لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِ
ٱ لْمَلَٰٓ ئِكَةِ إِن ك ُنت َ مِنَٱ ل صَّٰ دِقِي نَ ٧Law ma ta/teena bilmala-ikatiin kunta mina assadiqeen
Why do you not bring us the angels should you be truthful?!’Ali Quli Qarai
Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?"Saheeh International
-
15:8
مَا نُنَزِّلُ
ٱ لْمَلَٰٓ ئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱ لْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓ ا۟ إِذً ۭا م ُّنظ َرِي نَ ٨Ma nunazzilu almala-ikata illabilhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareen
We do not send down the angels except with due reason, and then they will not be granted any respite.Ali Quli Qarai
We do not send down the angels except with truth; and they [i.e., the disbelievers] would not then be reprieved.Saheeh International
-
15:9
إِ
نّ َا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَاٱ ل ذِّكْرَ وَإِنّ َا لَهُۥ لَحَٰ فِظُو نَ ٩Inna nahnu nazzalna aththikrawa-inna lahu lahafithoon
Indeed We have sent down the Reminder, and indeed We will preserve it.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Qur’ān], and indeed, We will be its guardian.Saheeh International

15:10
وَلَقَ
دْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن ق َبْ لِكَ فِى شِيَعِٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ١٠Walaqad arsalna min qablika feeshiyaAAi al-awwaleen
Certainly We sent [apostles] before you to former communities,Ali Quli Qarai
And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muḥammad], among the sects of the former peoples.Saheeh International
-
15:11
وَمَا يَأْتِيه
ِم م ِّن ر َّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُو نَ ١١Wama ya/teehim min rasoolin illakanoo bihi yastahzi-oon
and there did not come to them any apostle but that they used to deride him.Ali Quli Qarai
And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.Saheeh International
-
15:12
كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ نَسْلُكُهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِٱ لْمُجْ رِمِي نَ ١٢Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobialmujrimeen
That is how We let it pass through the hearts of the guilty:Ali Quli Qarai
Thus do We insert it [i.e., denial] into the hearts of the criminals.Saheeh International

15:13
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِه
ِۦ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنّ َةُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ١٣La yu/minoona bihi waqad khalatsunnatu al-awwaleen
they do not believe in it, and the precedent of the ancients has already passed.Ali Quli Qarai
They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.Saheeh International
-
15:14
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْه
ِم ب َابً ۭا م ِّنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُو نَ ١٤Walaw fatahna AAalayhim babanmina assama-i fathalloo feehiyaAArujoon
Were We to open for them a gate of the sky, so that they could go on ascending through it,Ali Quli Qarai
And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,Saheeh International
-
15:15
لَقَال
ُوٓ ا۟ إِنّ َمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْ صَٰ رُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ ۭم َّسْحُورُو نَ ١٥Laqaloo innama sukkirat absarunabal nahnu qawmun mashooroon
they would surely say, ‘Indeed a spell has been cast on our eyes; indeed, we are a bewitched lot.’Ali Quli Qarai
They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic."Saheeh International

15:16
وَلَقَ
دْ جَعَلْنَا فِىٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ بُرُوجً ۭا و َزَيَّنّ َٰ هَا لِلنّ َٰ ظِرِي نَ ١٦Walaqad jaAAalna fee assama-iburoojan wazayyannaha linnathireen
Certainly We have appointed houses in the sky and adorned them for the onlookers,Ali Quli Qarai
And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers.Saheeh International
-
15:17
وَحَفِظْنَ
ٰ هَا مِن ك ُلِّ شَيْطَٰ نٍ ۢر َّجِي مٍ ١٧Wahafithnahamin kulli shaytanin rajeem
and We have guarded them from every outcast Satan,Ali Quli Qarai
And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allāh]Saheeh International
-
15:18
إِلَّا مَنِ
ٱ سْتَرَقَٱ ل سَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ١٨Illa mani istaraqa assamAAafaatbaAAahu shihabun mubeen
except someone who may eavesdrop, whereat there pursues him a manifest flame.Ali Quli Qarai
Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame.Saheeh International

15:19
وَ
ٱ لْأَرْضَ مَدَدْ نَٰ هَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰ سِىَ وَأَنۢب َتْنَا فِيهَا مِن ك ُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۢم َّوْزُو نٍۢ ١٩Wal-arda madadnahawaalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatnafeeha min kulli shay-in mawzoon
And We spread out the earth, and cast in it firm mountains, and We grew in it every kind of balanced thing,Ali Quli Qarai
And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.Saheeh International
-
15:20
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَ
ٰ يِشَ وَمَن ل َّسْتُمْ لَهُۥ بِرَٰ زِقِي نَ ٢٠WajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayishawaman lastum lahu biraziqeen
and made in it [various] means of livelihood for you and for those whom you do not provide for.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers.Saheeh International

15:21
وَإ
ِن م ِّن ش َىْءٍ إِلَّا عِند َنَا خَزَا ٓئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ ۢم َّعْلُو مٍۢ ٢١Wa-in min shay-in illa AAindanakhaza-inuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarinmaAAloom
There is not a thing but that its sources are with Us, and We do not send it down except in a known measure.Ali Quli Qarai
And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known [i.e., specified] measure.Saheeh International
-
15:22
وَأَرْسَلْنَا
ٱ ل رِّيَٰ حَ لَوَٰ قِحَ فَأَنز َلْنَا مِنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ مَا ٓءً ۭف َأَسْقَيْنَٰ كُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنت ُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَٰ زِنِي نَ ٢٢Waarsalna arriyaha lawaqihafaanzalna mina assama-i maanfaasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineen
And We send the fertilizing winds and send down water from the sky providing it for you to drink and you are not maintainers of its resources.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.Saheeh International
-
15:23
وَإِ
نّ َا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُٱ لْوَٰ رِثُو نَ ٢٣Wa-inna lanahnu nuhyeewanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoon
Indeed it is We who give life and bring death and We are the inheritors.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.Saheeh International
-
15:24
وَلَقَ
دْ عَلِمْنَاٱ لْمُسْتَقْ دِمِينَ مِنك ُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَاٱ لْمُسْتَْٔخِرِي نَ ٢٤Walaqad AAalimna almustaqdimeenaminkum walaqad AAalimna almusta/khireen
Certainly We know the predecessors among you and certainly We know the successors,Ali Quli Qarai
And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come].Saheeh International
-
15:25
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِي مٌۭ ٢٥Wa-inna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhuminnahu hakeemun AAaleem
and indeed it is your Lord who will resurrect them. Indeed, He is all-wise, all-knowing.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.Saheeh International
-
15:26
وَلَقَ
دْ خَلَقْ نَاٱ لْإِنس َٰ نَ مِن ص َلْصَٰ لٍ ۢم ِّنْ حَمَإٍ ۢم َّسْنُو نٍۢ ٢٦Walaqad khalaqna al-insana minsalsalin min hama-in masnoon
Certainly We created man out of a dry clay [drawn] from an aging mud,Ali Quli Qarai
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.Saheeh International
-
15:27
وَ
ٱ لْجَا ٓنّ َ خَلَقْ نَٰ هُ مِن ق َبْ لُ مِن ن َّارِٱ ل سَّمُو مِ ٢٧Waljanna khalaqnahumin qablu min nari assamoom
and We created the jinn earlier, out of a piercing fire.Ali Quli Qarai
And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.Saheeh International
-
15:28
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَ
ٰٓ ئِكَةِ إِنّ ِى خَٰ لِقٌۢ ب َشَرً ۭا م ِّن ص َلْصَٰ لٍ ۢم ِّنْ حَمَإٍ ۢم َّسْنُو نٍۢ ٢٨Wa-ith qala rabbuka lilmala-ikatiinnee khaliqun basharan min salsalin min hama-inmasnoon
When your Lord said to the angels, ‘Indeed I am going to create a human out of a dry clay [drawn] from an aging mud.Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud.Saheeh International
-
15:29
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ
ۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن ر ُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰ جِدِي نَ ٢٩Fa-itha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehimin roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideen
So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down in prostration before him.’Ali Quli Qarai
And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."Saheeh International
-
15:30
فَسَجَدَ
ٱ لْمَلَٰٓ ئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْ مَعُو نَ ٣٠Fasajada almala-ikatu kulluhumajmaAAoon
Thereat the angels prostrated, all of them together,Ali Quli Qarai
So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely,Saheeh International
-
15:31
إِلّ
َآ إِبْ لِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن ي َكُونَ مَعَٱ ل سَّٰ جِدِي نَ ٣١Illa ibleesa aba an yakoonamaAAa assajideen
but not Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated.Ali Quli Qarai
Except Iblees; he refused to be with those who prostrated.Saheeh International
-
15:32
قَالَ يَ
ٰٓ إِبْ لِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَٱ ل سَّٰ جِدِي نَ ٣٢Qala ya ibleesu ma lakaalla takoona maAAa assajideen
He said, ‘O Iblis! What kept you from being among those who have prostrated?’Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh] said, "O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?"Saheeh International
-
15:33
قَالَ لَمْ أَك
ُن ل ِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْ تَهُۥ مِن ص َلْصَٰ لٍ ۢم ِّنْ حَمَإٍ ۢم َّسْنُو نٍۢ ٣٣Qala lam akun li-asjuda libasharinkhalaqtahu min salsalin min hama-in masnoon
Said he, ‘I will not prostrate before a human whom You have created out of a dry clay [drawn] from an aging mud.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud."Saheeh International
-
15:34
قَالَ فَ
ٱ خْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنّ َكَ رَجِي مٌۭ ٣٤Qala fakhruj minhafa-innaka rajeem
He said, ‘Begone hence, for you are indeed an outcast,Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh] said, "Then depart from it, for indeed, you are expelled.Saheeh International
-
15:35
وَإِ
نّ َ عَلَيْكَٱ ل لَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِٱ ل دِّي نِ ٣٥Wa-inna AAalayka allaAAnata ila yawmiaddeen
and indeed the curse shall lie on you until the Day of Retribution.’Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense."Saheeh International
-
15:36
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَ
نظ ِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْ عَثُو نَ ٣٦Qala rabbi faanthirneeila yawmi yubAAathoon
He said, ‘My Lord! Respite me till the day they will be resurrected.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."Saheeh International
-
15:37
قَالَ فَإِ
نّ َكَ مِنَٱ لْمُنظ َرِي نَ ٣٧Qala fa-innaka mina almunthareen
Said He, ‘You are indeed among the reprievedAli Quli Qarai
[Allāh] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprievedSaheeh International
-
15:38
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ
ٱ لْوَقْ تِٱ لْمَعْلُو مِ ٣٨Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloom
until the day of the known time.’Ali Quli Qarai
Until the Day of the time well-known."Saheeh International
-
15:39
قَالَ رَبِّ بِم
َآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنّ َ لَهُمْ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنّ َهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٣٩Qala rabbi bima aghwaytaneelaozayyinanna lahum fee al-ardi walaoghwiyannahumajmaAAeen
He said, ‘My Lord! As You have consigned me to perversity, I will surely glamorize [evil] for them on the earth, and I will surely pervert them, allAli Quli Qarai
[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them [i.e., mankind] on earth, and I will mislead them allSaheeh International
-
15:40
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ
ٱ لْمُخْلَصِي نَ ٤٠Illa AAibadaka minhumualmukhlaseen
except Your dedicated servants among them.’Ali Quli Qarai
Except, among them, Your chosen servants."Saheeh International
-
15:41
قَالَ هَ
ٰ ذَا صِرَٰ طٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِي مٌ ٤١Qala hatha siratunAAalayya mustaqeem
He said, ‘This is the path [leading] straight to Me.Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight.Saheeh International
-
15:42
إِ
نّ َ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰ نٌ إِلَّا مَنِٱ تَّبَعَكَ مِنَٱ لْغَاوِي نَ ٤٢Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhimsultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaween
Indeed, as for My servants you do not have any authority over them, except the perverse who follow you,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators.Saheeh International

15:43
وَإِ
نّ َ جَهَنّ َمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٤٣Wa-inna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeen
and indeed hell is the tryst of them all.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.Saheeh International
-
15:44
لَهَا سَ
بْ عَةُ أَبْ وَٰ بٍ ۢل ِّكُلِّ بَابٍ ۢم ِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ ۭم َّقْ سُو مٌ ٤٤Laha sabAAatu abwabin likullibabin minhum juz-on maqsoom
It has seven gates, and to each gate belongs a separate portion of them.’Ali Quli Qarai
It has seven gates; for every gate is of them [i.e., Satan's followers] a portion designated."Saheeh International

15:45
إِ
نّ َٱ لْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍ ٤٥Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwaAAuyoon
Indeed the Godwary will be amid gardens and springs.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs,Saheeh International
-
15:46
ٱ
دْ خُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰ مٍ ءَامِنِي نَ ٤٦Odkhulooha bisalamin amineen
‘‘Enter it in peace and safety!’’Ali Quli Qarai
[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."Saheeh International
-
15:47
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِه
ِم م ِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰ نًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ ۢم ُّتَقَٰ بِلِي نَ ٤٧WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihimmin ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileen
We will remove whatever rancour there is in their breasts; [intimate like] brothers, [they will be reclining] on couches, facing one another.Ali Quli Qarai
And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.Saheeh International
-
15:48
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَ
بٌ ۭو َمَا هُم م ِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِي نَ ٤٨La yamassuhum feeha nasabunwama hum minha bimukhrajeen
Therein neither weariness shall touch them, nor will they [ever] be expelled from it.Ali Quli Qarai
No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.Saheeh International
-
15:49
۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَاد
ِىٓ أَنّ ِىٓ أَنَاٱ لْغَفُورُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ٤٩Nabbi/ AAibadee annee anaalghafooru arraheem
Inform my servants that I am indeed the All-forgiving, the All-merciful,Ali Quli Qarai
[O Muḥammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful,Saheeh International
-
15:50
وَأَ
نّ َ عَذَابِى هُوَٱ لْعَذَابُٱ لْأَلِي مُ ٥٠Waanna AAathabee huwa alAAathabual-aleem
and that My punishment is a painful punishment.Ali Quli Qarai
And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.Saheeh International
-
15:51
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَ
ن ض َيْفِ إِبْ رَٰ هِي مَ ٥١Wanabbi/hum AAan dayfi ibraheem
And inform them about the guests of Abraham,Ali Quli Qarai
And inform them about the guests of Abraham,Saheeh International
-
15:52
إِذْ دَخَلُو
ا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰ مً ۭا ق َالَ إِنّ َا مِنك ُمْ وَجِلُو نَ ٥٢Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloosalaman qala inna minkum wajiloon
when they entered into his presence and said, ‘Peace!’ He said, ‘We are indeed afraid of you.’Ali Quli Qarai
When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful [i.e., apprehensive] of you."Saheeh International
-
15:53
قَالُو
ا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنّ َا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰ مٍ عَلِي مٍۢ ٥٣Qaloo la tawjal innanubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleem
They said, ‘Do not be afraid. Indeed we give you the good news of a wise son.’Ali Quli Qarai
[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy."Saheeh International
-
15:54
قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَ
ىٰٓ أَن م َّسَّنِىَٱ لْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُو نَ ٥٤Qala abashshartumoonee AAalaan massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshiroon
He said, ‘Do you give me good news though old age has befallen me? What is the good news that you bring me?’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?"Saheeh International

15:55
قَالُو
ا۟ بَشَّرْنَٰ كَ بِٱ لْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن م ِّنَٱ لْقَٰ نِطِي نَ ٥٥Qaloo bashsharnaka bilhaqqifala takun mina alqaniteen
They said, ‘We bring you good news in truth; so do not be despondent.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing."Saheeh International
-
15:56
قَالَ وَم
َن ي َقْ نَطُ مِن ر َّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّاٱ ل ضَّا ٓلُّو نَ ٥٦Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmatirabbihi illa addalloon
He said, ‘Who despairs of his Lord’s mercy except the astray?!’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?"Saheeh International
-
15:57
قَالَ فَمَا خَ
طْ بُكُمْ أَيُّهَاٱ لْمُرْسَلُو نَ ٥٧Qala fama khatbukumayyuha almursaloon
He said, ‘O messengers, what is now your errand?’Ali Quli Qarai
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"Saheeh International
-
15:58
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ إِنّ َآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ ۢم ُّجْ رِمِي نَ ٥٨Qaloo inna orsilna ilaqawmin mujrimeen
They said, ‘We have been sent toward a guilty people,Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,Saheeh International
-
15:59
إِلّ
َآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنّ َا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٥٩Illa ala lootin innalamunajjoohum ajmaAAeen
[who shall perish] except the family of Lot. We will indeed deliver all of them,Ali Quli Qarai
Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them allSaheeh International
-
15:60
إِلَّا
ٱ مْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ ۙ إِنّ َهَا لَمِنَٱ لْغَٰ بِرِي نَ ٦٠Illa imraatahu qaddarna innahalamina alghabireen
except his wife, [who], We have ordained, will indeed be among those who remain behind.’Ali Quli Qarai
Except his wife." We [i.e., Allāh] decreed that she is of those who remain behind.Saheeh International
-
15:61
فَلَ
مّ َا جَا ٓءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍٱ لْمُرْسَلُو نَ ٦١Falamma jaa ala lootinalmursaloon
So when the messengers came to Lot’s family,Ali Quli Qarai
And when the messengers came to the family of Lot,Saheeh International
-
15:62
قَالَ إِ
نّ َكُمْ قَوْمٌ ۭم ُّنك َرُو نَ ٦٢Qala innakum qawmun munkaroon
he said, ‘You are indeed strangers [to me].’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown."Saheeh International
-
15:63
قَالُو
ا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰ كَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُو نَ ٦٣Qaloo bal ji/naka bimakanoo feehi yamtaroon
They said, ‘Indeed, we bring you what they used to doubt.Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,Saheeh International
-
15:64
وَأَتَيْنَ
ٰ كَ بِٱ لْحَقِّ وَإِنّ َا لَصَٰ دِقُو نَ ٦٤Waataynaka bilhaqqiwa-inna lasadiqoon
We bring you the truth, and indeed, we speak truly.Ali Quli Qarai
And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful.Saheeh International
-
15:65
فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِ
طْ عٍ ۢم ِّنَٱ لَّيْلِ وَٱ تَّبِعْ أَدْ بَٰ رَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنك ُمْ أَحَدٌ ۭو َٱ مْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُو نَ ٦٥Faasri bi-ahlika biqitAAin minaallayli wattabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafitminkum ahadun wamdoo haythutu/maroon
Take your family in a watch of the night; and follow in their rear, and none of you should turn round, and proceed as you are bidden.’Ali Quli Qarai
So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded."Saheeh International

15:66
وَقَضَيْن
َآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰ لِكَٱ لْأَمْرَ أَنّ َ دَابِرَ هَٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ مَقْ طُوعٌ ۭم ُّصْبِحِي نَ ٦٦Waqadayna ilayhi thalikaal-amra anna dabira haola-i maqtooAAunmusbiheen
We apprised him of the matter that these will be rooted out by dawn.Ali Quli Qarai
And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning.Saheeh International
-
15:67
وَج
َا ٓءَ أَهْلُٱ لْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْ شِرُو نَ ٦٧Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroon
The people of the city came, rejoicing.Ali Quli Qarai
And the people of the city came rejoicing.Saheeh International
-
15:68
قَالَ إِ
نّ َ هَٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُو نِ ٦٨Qala inna haola-i dayfeefala tafdahoon
He said, ‘These are indeed my guests. Do not bring dishonour on me.Ali Quli Qarai
[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.Saheeh International
-
15:69
وَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُو نِ ٦٩Wattaqoo Allaha walatukhzoon
Be wary of Allah and do not humiliate me.’Ali Quli Qarai
And fear Allāh and do not disgrace me."Saheeh International
-
15:70
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٧٠Qaloo awa lam nanhaka AAani alAAalameen
They said, ‘Did we not forbid you from [defending ] strangers?’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"Saheeh International
-
15:71
قَالَ هَ
ٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ فَٰ عِلِي نَ ٧١Qala haola-i banateein kuntum faAAileen
He said, ‘These are my daughters, [marry them] if you should do anything.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."Saheeh International
-
15:72
لَعَمْرُكَ إِ
نّ َهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُو نَ ٧٢LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihimyaAAmahoona
By your life, they were bewildered in their drunkenness.Ali Quli Qarai
By your life, [O Muḥammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.Saheeh International
-
15:73
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
ٱ ل صَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِي نَ ٧٣Faakhathat-humu assayhatumushriqeen
So the Cry seized them at sunrise,Ali Quli Qarai
So the shriek seized them at sunrise.Saheeh International
-
15:74
فَجَعَلْنَا عَ
ٰ لِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً ۭم ِّن س ِجِّي لٍ ٧٤FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilahawaamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan minsijjeel
and We made its topmost part its nethermost, and rained on them stones of shale.Ali Quli Qarai
And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.Saheeh International
-
15:75
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَٰ تٍ ۢل ِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِي نَ ٧٥Inna fee thalika laayatinlilmutawassimeen
There are indeed signs in that for the percipient.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that are signs for those who discern.Saheeh International
-
15:76
وَإِ
نّ َهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ ۢم ُّقِي مٍ ٧٦Wa-innaha labisabeelin muqeem
Indeed it is on a standing road,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, they [i.e., those cities] are [situated] on an established road.Saheeh International
-
15:77
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭل ِّلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٧٧Inna fee thalika laayatanlilmu/mineen
and there is indeed a sign in that for the faithful.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.Saheeh International
-
15:78
وَإِ
ن ك َانَ أَصْحَٰ بُٱ لْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰ لِمِي نَ ٧٨Wa-in kana as-habual-aykati lathalimeen
Indeed the inhabitants of Aykah were [also] wrongdoers.Ali Quli Qarai
And the companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] were [also] wrongdoers,Saheeh International
-
15:79
فَ
ٱ نت َقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنّ َهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ٧٩Fantaqamna minhum wa-innahumalabi-imamin mubeen
So We took vengeance on them, and indeed the two of them are on an open highway.Ali Quli Qarai
So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway.Saheeh International
-
15:80
وَلَقَ
دْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰ بُٱ لْحِجْ رِٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ٨٠Walaqad kaththaba as-habualhijri almursaleen
Certainly the inhabitants of Hijr denied the apostles.Ali Quli Qarai
And certainly did the companions of al-Ḥijr [i.e., the Thamūd] deny the messengers.Saheeh International
-
15:81
وَءَاتَيْنَ
ٰ هُمْ ءَايَٰ تِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِي نَ ٨١Waataynahum ayatinafakanoo AAanha muAArideen
We had given them Our signs but they disregarded them.Ali Quli Qarai
And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.Saheeh International
-
15:82
وَكَانُو
ا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَٱ لْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِي نَ ٨٢Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibalibuyootan amineen
They used to hew out dwellings from mountains feeling secure.Ali Quli Qarai
And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.Saheeh International
-
15:83
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
ٱ ل صَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِي نَ ٨٣Faakhathat-humu assayhatumusbiheen
So the Cry seized them at dawn,Ali Quli Qarai
But the shriek seized them at early morning,Saheeh International
-
15:84
فَم
َآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم م َّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُو نَ ٨٤Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanooyaksiboon
and what they used to earn did not avail them.Ali Quli Qarai
So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.Saheeh International
-
15:85
وَمَا خَلَ
قْ نَاٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱ لْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنّ َٱ ل سَّاعَةَ لََٔاتِيَةٌ ۭۖ ف َٱ صْفَحِٱ ل صَّفْحَٱ لْجَمِي لَ ٨٥Wama khalaqna assamawatiwal-arda wama baynahuma illabilhaqqi wa-inna assaAAata laatiyatunfasfahi assafhaaljameel
We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with consummate wisdom, and indeed the Hour is bound to come. So forbear with a graceful forbearance.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.Saheeh International
-
15:86
إِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ هُوَٱ لْخَلَّٰ قُٱ لْعَلِي مُ ٨٦Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqualAAaleem
Indeed your Lord is the All-creator, the All-knowing.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.Saheeh International
-
15:87
وَلَقَ
دْ ءَاتَيْنَٰ كَ سَبْ عً ۭا م ِّنَٱ لْمَثَانِى وَٱ لْقُرْءَانَٱ لْعَظِي مَ ٨٧Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan minaalmathanee walqur-ana alAAatheem
Certainly We have given you [the surah of] the seven oft-repeated verses and the great Quran.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have certainly given you, [O Muḥammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur’ān.Saheeh International
-
15:88
لَا تَمُدَّ
نّ َ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰ جً ۭا م ِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱ خْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٨٨La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila mamattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzanAAalayhim wakhfid janahaka lilmu/mineen
Do not extend your glance toward what We have provided to certain groups of them, and do not grieve for them, and lower your wing to the faithful,Ali Quli Qarai
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of them [i.e., the disbelievers], and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to the believers.Saheeh International
-
15:89
وَقُلْ إِ
نّ ِىٓ أَنَاٱ ل نّ َذِيرُٱ لْمُبِي نُ ٨٩Waqul innee ana annatheerualmubeen
and say, ‘I am indeed a manifest warner [of punishment from God],’Ali Quli Qarai
And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" -Saheeh International
-
15:90
كَم
َآ أَنز َلْنَا عَلَىٱ لْمُقْ تَسِمِي نَ ٩٠Kama anzalna AAalaalmuqtasimeen
like that We sent down upon those who split into bands,Ali Quli Qarai
Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separatorsSaheeh International
-
15:91
ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُو
ا۟ ٱ لْقُرْءَانَ عِضِي نَ ٩١Allatheena jaAAaloo alqur-anaAAideen
who represented the Quran as magic.Ali Quli Qarai
Who have made the Qur’ān into portions.Saheeh International
-
15:92
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسَْٔلَ
نّ َهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٩٢Fawarabbika lanas-alannahum ajmaAAeen
By your Lord, We will question them allAli Quli Qarai
So by your Lord, We will surely question them allSaheeh International
-
15:93
عَ
مّ َا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُو نَ ٩٣AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloon
concerning what they used to do.Ali Quli Qarai
About what they used to do.Saheeh International
-
15:94
فَ
ٱ صْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِٱ لْمُشْرِكِي نَ ٩٤FasdaAA bima tu/maruwaaAArid AAani almushrikeen
So proclaim what you have been commanded, and turn away from the polytheists.Ali Quli Qarai
Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists.Saheeh International
-
15:95
إِ
نّ َا كَفَيْنَٰ كَٱ لْمُسْتَهْزِءِي نَ ٩٥Inna kafaynaka almustahzi-een
Indeed We will suffice you against the deridersAli Quli Qarai
Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockersSaheeh International
-
15:96
ٱلَّذِينَ يَ
جْ عَلُونَ مَعَٱ للَّهِ إِلَٰ هًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُو نَ ٩٦Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahiilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoon
—those who set up another deity besides Allah. Soon they will know!Ali Quli Qarai
Who make [equal] with Allāh another deity. But they are going to know.Saheeh International
-
15:97
وَلَقَ
دْ نَعْلَمُ أَنّ َكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْ رُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُو نَ ٩٧Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadrukabima yaqooloon
Certainly We know that you become upset because of what they say.Ali Quli Qarai
And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say.Saheeh International
-
15:98
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَك
ُن م ِّنَٱ ل سَّٰ جِدِي نَ ٩٨Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakunmina assajideen
So celebrate the praise of your Lord and be among those who prostrate,Ali Quli Qarai
So exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him].Saheeh International
-
15:99
وَ
ٱ عْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَٱ لْيَقِي نُ ٩٩WaAAbud rabbaka hattaya/tiyaka alyaqeen
and worship your Lord until certainty comes to you.Ali Quli Qarai
And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty [i.e., death].Saheeh International
