بِسْمِ

19:1
كٓ هيعٓصٓ ١Kaf-ha-ya-AAayn-sad
Kaf, Ha, Ya, ‘Ayn, Suad.Ali Quli Qarai
Kāf, Hā, Yā, ʿAyn, Ṣād.Saheeh International
-
19:2
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَ
بْ دَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ ٢Thikru rahmati rabbika AAabdahuzakariyya
[This is] an account of your Lord’s mercy on His servant, Zechariah,Ali Quli Qarai
[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant ZechariahSaheeh International
-
19:3
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ
ۥ نِدَا ٓءً خَفِيًّۭا ٣Ith nada rabbahu nidaankhafiyya
when he called out to his Lord with a secret cry.Ali Quli Qarai
When he called to his Lord a private call [i.e., supplication].Saheeh International
-
19:4
قَالَ رَبِّ إِ
نّ ِى وَهَنَٱ لْعَظْمُ مِنّ ِى وَٱ شْتَعَلَٱ ل رَّأْسُ شَيْبً ۭا و َلَمْ أَكُنۢ ب ِدُعَا ٓئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّۭا ٤Qala rabbi innee wahana alAAathmuminnee washtaAAala arra/su shayban walam akunbiduAAa-ika rabbi shaqiyya
He said, ‘My Lord! Indeed my bones have become feeble, and my head has turned white with age, yet never have I, my Lord, been disappointed in supplicating You!Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy [i.e., disappointed].Saheeh International

19:5
وَإِ
نّ ِى خِفْتُٱ لْمَوَٰ لِىَ مِن و َرَا ٓءِى وَكَانَتِٱ مْرَأَتِى عَاقِرً ۭا ف َهَبْ لِى مِن ل َّدُنك َ وَلِيًّۭا ٥Wa-innee khiftu almawaliya min wara-eewakanati imraatee AAaqiran fahab lee min ladunkawaliyya
Indeed I fear my kinsmen, after me, and my wife is barren. So grant me from Yourself an heirAli Quli Qarai
And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heirSaheeh International

19:6
يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَ
ٱ جْ عَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّۭا ٦Yarithunee wayarithu min ali yaAAqoobawajAAalhu rabbi radiyya
who may inherit from me and inherit from the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]!’Ali Quli Qarai
Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]."Saheeh International

19:7
يَ
ٰ زَكَرِيَّآ إِنّ َا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰ مٍٱ سْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْ عَل لَّهُۥ مِن ق َبْ لُ سَمِيًّۭا ٧Ya zakariyya innanubashshiruka bighulamin ismuhu yahya lamnajAAal lahu min qablu samiyya
‘O Zechariah! Indeed We give you the good news of a son, whose name is ‘‘John.’’ Never before have We made anyone his namesake.’Ali Quli Qarai
[He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name."Saheeh International

19:8
قَالَ رَبِّ أَ
نّ َىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰ مٌ ۭو َكَانَتِٱ مْرَأَتِى عَاقِرً ۭا و َقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَٱ لْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّۭا ٨Qala rabbi anna yakoonu leeghulamun wakanati imraatee AAaqiran waqadbalaghtu mina alkibari AAitiyya
He said, ‘My Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I am already advanced in age?’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?"Saheeh International

19:9
قَالَ كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ ۭو َقَدْ خَلَقْ تُكَ مِن ق َبْ لُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَئًْۭا ٩Qala kathalika qalarabbuka huwa AAalayya hayyinun waqad khalaqtuka min qablu walamtaku shay-a
He said, ‘So shall it be. Your Lord has said, ‘‘It is simple for Me.’’ Certainly I created you before when you were nothing.’Ali Quli Qarai
[An angel] said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, for I created you before, while you were nothing.'"Saheeh International

19:10
قَالَ رَبِّ
ٱ جْ عَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً ۭۚ ق َالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَٱ ل نّ َاسَ ثَلَٰ ثَ لَيَالٍ ۢس َوِيًّۭا ١٠Qala rabbi ijAAal lee ayatan qalaayatuka alla tukallima annasa thalathalayalin sawiyya
He said, ‘My Lord! Appoint a sign for me.’ He said, ‘Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three complete nights.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound."Saheeh International

19:11
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِه
ِۦ مِنَٱ لْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن س َبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةً ۭو َعَشِيًّۭا ١١Fakharaja AAala qawmihi mina almihrabifaawha ilayhim an sabbihoo bukratan waAAashiyya
So he emerged before his people from the Temple, and signalled to them that they should glorify [Allah] morning and evening.Ali Quli Qarai
So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [Allāh] in the morning and afternoon.Saheeh International

19:12
يَ
ٰ يَحْيَىٰ خُذِٱ لْكِتَٰ بَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۢۖ و َءَاتَيْنَٰ هُٱ لْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّۭا ١٢Ya yahya khuthialkitaba biquwwatin waataynahu alhukmasabiyya
‘O John!’ [We said,] ‘Hold on with power to the Book!’ And We gave him judgement while still a child,Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh said], "O John, take the Scripture [i.e., adhere to it] with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boySaheeh International

19:13
وَحَنَا
نً ۭا م ِّن ل َّدُنّ َا وَزَكَو ٰ ةً ۭۖ و َكَانَ تَقِيًّۭا ١٣Wahananan min ladunnawazakatan wakana taqiyya
and a compassion and purity from Us. He was GodwaryAli Quli Qarai
And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of AllāhSaheeh International
-
19:14
وَبَرّ
ًۢا ب ِوَٰ لِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن ج َبَّارًا عَصِيًّۭا ١٤Wabarran biwalidayhi walam yakun jabbaranAAasiyya
and good to his parents, and was not self-willed or disobedient.Ali Quli Qarai
And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant.Saheeh International

19:15
وَسَلَ
ٰ مٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْ عَثُ حَيًّۭا ١٥Wasalamun AAalayhi yawma wulidawayawma yamootu wayawma yubAAathu hayya
Peace be to him, the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he is raised alive!Ali Quli Qarai
And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive.Saheeh International

19:16
وَ
ٱ ذْكُرْ فِىٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِٱ نت َبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانً ۭا ش َرْقِيًّۭا ١٦Wathkur fee alkitabimaryama ithi intabathat min ahliha makanansharqiyya
And mention in the Book Mary, when she withdrew from her family to an easterly place.Ali Quli Qarai
And mention, [O Muḥammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.Saheeh International

19:17
فَ
ٱ تَّخَذَتْ مِن د ُونِهِمْ حِجَابً ۭا ف َأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرً ۭا س َوِيًّۭا ١٧Fattakhathat min doonihim hijabanfaarsalna ilayha roohanafatamaththala laha basharan sawiyya
Thus did she seclude herself from them, whereupon We sent to her Our Spirit and he became incarnate for her as a well-proportioned human.Ali Quli Qarai
And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel [i.e., Gabriel], and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.Saheeh International

19:18
قَالَتْ إِ
نّ ِىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ مِنك َ إِن ك ُنت َ تَقِيًّۭا ١٨Qalat innee aAAoothu birrahmaniminka in kunta taqiyya
She said, ‘I seek the protection of the All-beneficent from you, should you be Godwary!’Ali Quli Qarai
She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allāh."Saheeh International

19:19
قَالَ إِ
نّ َمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَٰ مً ۭا ز َكِيًّۭا ١٩Qala innama ana rasoolurabbiki li-ahaba laki ghulaman zakiyya
He said, ‘I am only a messenger of your Lord that I may give you a pure son.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy [i.e., son]."Saheeh International

19:20
قَالَتْ أَ
نّ َىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰ مٌ ۭو َلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ ۭو َلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّۭا ٢٠Qalat anna yakoonu lee ghulamunwalam yamsasnee basharun walam aku baghiyya
She said, ‘How shall I have a child seeing that no human being has ever touched me, nor have I been unchaste?’Ali Quli Qarai
She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"Saheeh International

19:21
قَالَ كَذَ
ٰ لِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ ۭۖ و َلِنَجْ عَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةً ۭل ِّلنّ َاسِ وَرَحْمَةً ۭم ِّنّ َا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرً ۭا م َّقْ ضِيًّۭا ٢١Qala kathaliki qalarabbuki huwa AAalayya hayyinun walinajAAalahu ayatan linnasiwarahmatan minna wakana amran maqdiyya
He said, ‘So shall it be. Your Lord says, ‘‘It is simple for Me.’’ And so that We may make him a sign for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter [already] decided.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'"Saheeh International

19:22
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَ
ٱ نت َبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانً ۭا ق َصِيًّۭا ٢٢Fahamalat-hu fantabathatbihi makanan qasiyya
Thus she conceived him, then withdrew with him to a distant place.Ali Quli Qarai
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.Saheeh International
-
19:23
فَأَج
َا ٓءَهَاٱ لْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِٱ ل نّ َخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَٰ لَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْ لَ هَٰ ذَا وَكُنت ُ نَسْيً ۭا م َّنس ِيًّۭا ٢٣Faajaaha almakhadu ilajithAAi annakhlati qalat ya laytaneemittu qabla hatha wakuntu nasyan mansiyya
The birth pangs brought her to the trunk of a date palm. She said, ‘I wish I had died before this and become a forgotten thing, beyond recall.’Ali Quli Qarai
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."Saheeh International

19:24
فَنَادَ
ىٰ هَا مِن ت َحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّۭا ٢٤Fanadaha min tahtihaalla tahzanee qad jaAAala rabbuki tahtakisariyya
Thereupon he called her from below her [saying,] ‘Do not grieve! Your Lord has made a spring to flow at your feet.Ali Quli Qarai
But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.Saheeh International
-
19:25
وَهُزّ
ِىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِٱ ل نّ َخْلَةِ تُسَٰ قِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبً ۭا ج َنِيًّۭا ٢٥Wahuzzee ilayki bijithAAi annakhlatitusaqit AAalayki rutaban janiyya
Shake the trunk of the palm tree, freshly picked dates will drop upon you.Ali Quli Qarai
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.Saheeh International
-
19:26
فَكُلِى وَ
ٱ شْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنً ۭا ۖ ف َإِمّ َا تَرَيِنّ َ مِنَٱ لْبَشَرِ أَحَدً ۭا ف َقُولِىٓ إِنّ ِى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰ نِ صَوْمً ۭا ف َلَنْ أُكَلِّمَٱ لْيَوْمَ إِنس ِيًّۭا ٢٦Fakulee washrabee waqarree AAaynanfa-imma tarayinna mina albashari ahadan faqooleeinnee nathartu lirrahmani sawmanfalan okallima alyawma insiyya
Eat, drink, and be comforted. Then if you see any human, say, ‘‘Indeed I have vowed a fast to the All-beneficent, so I will not speak to any human today.’’ ’Ali Quli Qarai
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.'"Saheeh International

19:27
فَأَتَتْ بِه
ِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖ قَالُوا۟ يَٰ مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَئًْ ۭا ف َرِيًّۭا ٢٧Faatat bihi qawmaha tahmiluhuqaloo ya maryamu laqad ji/ti shay-an fariyya
Then carrying him she brought him to her people. They said, ‘O Mary, you have certainly come up with an odd thing!Ali Quli Qarai
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.Saheeh International
-
19:28
يَ
ٰٓ أُخْتَ هَٰ رُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِٱ مْرَأَ سَوْءٍ ۢو َمَا كَانَتْ أُمّ ُكِ بَغِيًّۭا ٢٨Ya okhta haroona ma kanaabooki imraa saw-in wama kanat ommuki baghiyya
O sister of Aaron[’s lineage]! Your father was not an evil man, nor was your mother unchaste.’Ali Quli Qarai
O sister [i.e., descendant] of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."Saheeh International

19:29
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُو
ا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن ك َانَ فِىٱ لْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّۭا ٢٩Faasharat ilayhi qaloo kayfanukallimu man kana fee almahdi sabiyya
Thereat she pointed to him. They said, ‘How can we speak to one who is yet a baby in the cradle?’Ali Quli Qarai
So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"Saheeh International
-
19:30
قَالَ إِ
نّ ِى عَبْ دُٱ للَّهِ ءَاتَىٰ نِىَٱ لْكِتَٰ بَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّۭا ٣٠Qala innee AAabdu Allahi ataniyaalkitaba wajaAAalanee nabiyya
He said, ‘Indeed I am a servant of Allah! He has given me the Book and made me a prophet.Ali Quli Qarai
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allāh. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.Saheeh International
-
19:31
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُ
نت ُ وَأَوْصَٰ نِى بِٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةِ وَٱ ل زَّكَو ٰ ةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّۭا ٣١WajaAAalanee mubarakan aynamakuntu waawsanee bissalati wazzakatima dumtu hayya
He has made me blessed, wherever I may be, and He has enjoined me to [maintain] the prayer and to [pay] the zakat as long as I live,Ali Quli Qarai
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakāh as long as I remain aliveSaheeh International
-
19:32
وَبَرّ
ًۢا ب ِوَٰ لِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْ عَلْنِى جَبَّارً ۭا ش َقِيًّۭا ٣٢Wabarran biwalidatee walam yajAAalneejabbaran shaqiyya
and to be good to my mother, and He has not made me self-willed and wretched.Ali Quli Qarai
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.Saheeh International
-
19:33
وَ
ٱ ل سَّلَٰ مُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِد تُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْ عَثُ حَيًّۭا ٣٣Wassalamu AAalayya yawmawulidtu wayawma amootu wayawma obAAathu hayya
Peace to me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I am raised alive.’Ali Quli Qarai
And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."Saheeh International

19:34
ذَ
ٰ لِكَ عِيسَىٱ بْ نُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَٱ لْحَقِّٱ لَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُو نَ ٣٤Thalika AAeesa ibnu maryamaqawla alhaqqi allathee feehi yamtaroon
That is Jesus, son of Mary, a Word of the Real concerning whom they are in doubt.Ali Quli Qarai
That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute.Saheeh International

19:35
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أ
َن ي َتَّخِذَ مِن و َلَدٍ ۢۖ س ُبْ حَٰ نَهُۥٓ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرً ۭا ف َإِنّ َمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن ف َيَكُو نُ ٣٥Ma kana lillahi anyattakhitha min waladin subhanahu itha qadaamran fa-innama yaqoolu lahu kun fayakoon
It is not for Allah to take a son. Immaculate is He! When He decides on a matter, He just says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.Ali Quli Qarai
It is not [befitting] for Allāh to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.Saheeh International
-
19:36
وَإِ
نّ َٱ للَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱ عْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰ ذَا صِرَٰ طٌ ۭم ُّسْتَقِي مٌۭ ٣٦Wa-inna Allaha rabbee warabbukum faAAbudoohuhatha siratun mustaqeem
[And Jesus said,] ‘Indeed Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a straight path.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Jesus said], "And indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."Saheeh International
-
19:37
فَ
ٱ خْتَلَفَٱ لْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ ب َيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ ۭل ِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن م َّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِي مٍ ٣٧Fakhtalafa al-ahzabumin baynihim fawaylun lillatheena kafaroo min mashhadiyawmin AAatheem
But the factions differed among themselves. So woe to the faithless at the scene of a tremendous day.Ali Quli Qarai
Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved - from the scene of a tremendous Day.Saheeh International
-
19:38
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَ
بْ صِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَٰ كِنِٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمُونَٱ لْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَٰ لٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ٣٨AsmiAA bihim waabsir yawma ya/toonanalakini aththalimoona alyawmafee dalalin mubeen
How well they will hear and how well they will see on the day when they come to Us! But today the wrongdoers are in manifest error.Ali Quli Qarai
How [clearly] they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in clear error.Saheeh International
-
19:39
وَأَ
نذ ِرْهُمْ يَوْمَٱ لْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَٱ لْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ ۢو َهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُو نَ ٣٩Waanthirhum yawma alhasrati ithqudiya al-amru wahum fee ghaflatin wahum layu/minoon
Warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be decided, while they are [yet] heedless and do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
And warn them, [O Muḥammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.Saheeh International
-
19:40
إِ
نّ َا نَحْنُ نَرِثُٱ لْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُو نَ ٤٠Inna nahnu narithu al-ardawaman AAalayha wa-ilayna yurjaAAoon
Indeed We shall inherit the earth and whoever there is on it, and to Us they shall be brought back.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.Saheeh International
-
19:41
وَ
ٱ ذْكُرْ فِىٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ إِبْ رَٰ هِيمَ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقً ۭا ن َّبِيًّا ٤١Wathkur fee alkitabiibraheema innahu kana siddeeqan nabiyya
And mention in the Book Abraham. Indeed, he was a truthful man and a prophet.Ali Quli Qarai
And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.Saheeh International

19:42
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَ
ٰٓ أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْ صِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنك َ شَئًْۭا ٤٢Ith qala li-abeehi yaabati lima taAAbudu ma la yasmaAAu wala yubsiruwala yughnee AAanka shay-a
When he said to his father, ‘Father! Why do you worship that which neither hears nor sees, and is of no avail to you in any way?Ali Quli Qarai
[Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all?Saheeh International

19:43
يَ
ٰٓ أَبَتِ إِنّ ِى قَدْ جَا ٓءَنِى مِنَٱ لْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱ تَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰ طً ۭا س َوِيًّۭا ٤٣Ya abati innee qad jaanee minaalAAilmi ma lam ya/tika fattabiAAnee ahdika siratansawiyya
Father! Indeed a knowledge has already come to me, which has not come to you. So follow me that I may guide you to a right path.Ali Quli Qarai
O my father, indeed there has come to me of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to an even path.Saheeh International

19:44
يَ
ٰٓ أَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِٱ ل شَّيْطَٰ نَ ۖ إِنّ َٱ ل شَّيْطَٰ نَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰ نِ عَصِيًّۭا ٤٤Ya abati la taAAbudi ashshaytanainna ashshaytana kana lirrahmaniAAasiyya
Father! Do not worship Satan. Indeed Satan is disobedient to the All-beneficent.Ali Quli Qarai
O my father, do not worship [i.e., obey] Satan. Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient.Saheeh International

19:45
يَ
ٰٓ أَبَتِ إِنّ ِىٓ أَخَافُ أَن ي َمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ ۭم ِّنَٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَٰ نِ وَلِيًّۭا ٤٥Ya abati innee akhafu anyamassaka AAathabun mina arrahmanifatakoona lishshyatani waliyya
Father! I am indeed afraid that a punishment from the All-beneficent will befall you, and you will become Satan’s accomplice.’Ali Quli Qarai
O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]."Saheeh International

19:46
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَ
نت َ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَٰٓ إِبْ رَٰ هِيمُ ۖ لَئِن ل َّمْ تَنت َهِ لَأَرْجُمَنّ َكَ ۖ وَٱ هْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّۭا ٤٦Qala araghibun anta AAan alihateeya ibraheemu la-in lam tantahi laarjumannaka wahjurneemaliyya
He said, ‘Abraham! Are you renouncing my gods? If you do not desist, I will stone you. Get away from me for a long while.’Ali Quli Qarai
[His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time."Saheeh International

19:47
قَالَ سَلَ
ٰ مٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّۭا ٤٧Qala salamun AAalaykasaastaghfiru laka rabbee innahu kana bee hafiyya
He said, ‘Peace be to you! I shall plead with my Lord to forgive you. Indeed, He is gracious to me.Ali Quli Qarai
[Abraham] said, "Peace [i.e., safety] will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.Saheeh International

19:48
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَ
دْ عُونَ مِن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ وَأَدْ عُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَا ٓءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّۭا ٤٨WaaAAtazilukum wama tadAAoona mindooni Allahi waadAAoo rabbee AAasa allaakoona biduAAa-i rabbee shaqiyya
I dissociate myself from you and whatever you invoke besides Allah. I will supplicate my Lord. Hopefully, I will not be disappointed in supplicating my Lord.’Ali Quli Qarai
And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allāh and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy [i.e., disappointed]."Saheeh International

19:49
فَلَ
مّ َاٱ عْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ وَهَبْ نَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰ قَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّ ۭاج َعَلْنَا نَبِيًّۭا ٤٩Falamma iAAtazalahum wamayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi wahabna lahu ishaqawayaAAqooba wakullan jaAAalna nabiyya
So when he had left them and what they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each We made a prophet.Ali Quli Qarai
So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allāh, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet.Saheeh International

19:50
وَوَهَ
بْ نَا لَهُم م ِّن ر َّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْ قٍ عَلِيًّۭا ٥٠Wawahabna lahum min rahmatinawajaAAalna lahum lisana sidqin AAaliyya
And We gave them out of Our mercy, and conferred on them a worthy and lofty repute.Ali Quli Qarai
And We gave them of Our mercy, and We made for them a mention [i.e., reputation] of high honor.Saheeh International

19:51
وَ
ٱ ذْكُرْ فِىٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ مُوسَىٰٓ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصً ۭا و َكَانَ رَسُولً ۭان َّبِيًّۭا ٥١Wathkur fee alkitabimoosa innahu kana mukhlasan wakanarasoolan nabiyya
And mention in the Book Moses. Indeed he was exclusively dedicated [to Allah], and an apostle and prophet.Ali Quli Qarai
And mention in the Book, Moses. Indeed, he was chosen, and he was a messenger and a prophet.Saheeh International

19:52
وَنَ
ٰ دَيْنَٰ هُ مِن ج َانِبِٱ ل طُّورِٱ لْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْ نَٰ هُ نَجِيًّۭا ٥٢Wanadaynahu min janibiattoori al-aymani waqarrabnahu najiyya
We called him from the right side of the Mount and We drew him near [to Ourselves] for confidential discourse.Ali Quli Qarai
And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].Saheeh International
-
19:53
وَوَهَ
بْ نَا لَهُۥ مِن ر َّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَٰ رُونَ نَبِيًّۭا ٥٣Wawahabna lahu min rahmatinaakhahu haroona nabiyya
And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron, a prophet.Ali Quli Qarai
And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron as a prophet.Saheeh International
-
19:54
وَ
ٱ ذْكُرْ فِىٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ إِسْمَٰ عِيلَ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَٱ لْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولً ۭان َّبِيًّۭا ٥٤Wathkur fee alkitabiismaAAeela innahu kana sadiqa alwaAAdi wakanarasoolan nabiyya
And mention in the Book Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and an apostle and prophet.Ali Quli Qarai
And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.Saheeh International

19:55
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ
ۥ بِٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةِ وَٱ ل زَّكَو ٰ ةِ وَكَانَ عِند َ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّۭا ٥٥Wakana ya/muru ahlahu bissalatiwazzakati wakana AAinda rabbihi mardiyya
He used to bid his family to [maintain] the prayer and to [pay] the zakat, and was pleasing to his Lord.Ali Quli Qarai
And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakāh and was to his Lord pleasing [i.e., accepted by Him].Saheeh International

19:56
وَ
ٱ ذْكُرْ فِىٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ إِدْ رِيسَ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقً ۭا ن َّبِيًّۭا ٥٦Wathkur fee alkitabiidreesa innahu kana siddeeqan nabiyya
And mention in the Book Idrees. Indeed, he was a truthful one and a prophet,Ali Quli Qarai
And mention in the Book, Idrees. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.Saheeh International

19:57
وَرَفَعْنَ
ٰ هُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا ٥٧WarafaAAnahu makanan AAaliyya
and We raised him to an exalted station.Ali Quli Qarai
And We raised him to a high station.Saheeh International
-
19:58
أُ
و۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَٱ لَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَٱ للَّهُ عَلَيْهِم م ِّنَٱ ل نّ َبِيِّۧ نَ مِن ذ ُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمّ َنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ ۢو َمِن ذ ُرِّيَّةِ إِبْ رَٰ هِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰ ٓءِيلَ وَمِمّ َنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱ جْ تَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰ تُٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدً ۭا و َبُكِيًّۭا ۩ ٥٨Ola-ika allatheena anAAama AllahuAAalayhim mina annabiyyeena min thurriyyati adamawamimman hamalna maAAa noohin wamin thurriyyatiibraheema wa-isra-eela wamimman hadayna wajtabaynaitha tutla AAalayhim ayatu arrahmanikharroo sujjadan wabukiyya
They are the ones whom Allah has blessed from among the prophets of Adam’s progeny, and from [the progeny of] those We carried with Noah, and from among the progeny of Abraham and Israel, and from among those that We guided and chose. When the signs of the All-beneficent were recited to them, they would fall down weeping in prostration.Ali Quli Qarai
Those were the ones upon whom Allāh bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel [i.e., Jacob], and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.Saheeh International

19:59
۞ فَخَلَفَ م
ِنۢ ب َعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةَ وَٱ تَّبَعُوا۟ ٱ ل شَّهَوَٰ تِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا ٥٩Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun adaAAooassalata wattabaAAoo ashshahawatifasawfa yalqawna ghayya
But they were succeeded by an evil posterity who neglected the prayer, and followed [their base] appetites. So they will soon encounter [the reward of] perversity,Ali Quli Qarai
But there came after them successors [i.e., later generations] who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -Saheeh International
-
19:60
إِلَّا مَ
ن ت َابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰ لِحً ۭا ف َأُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ يَدْ خُلُونَٱ لْجَنّ َةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَئًْۭا ٦٠Illa man taba waamanawaAAamila salihan faola-ika yadkhuloonaaljannata wala yuthlamoona shay-a
barring those who repent, believe, and act righteously. Such will enter paradise, and they will not be wronged in the least.Ali Quli Qarai
Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.Saheeh International

19:61
جَ
نّ َٰ تِ عَدْ نٍٱ لَّتِى وَعَدَٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱ لْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّۭا ٦١Jannati AAadnin allatee waAAada arrahmanuAAibadahu bighaybi innahu kana waAAduhuma/tiyya
Gardens of Eden promised by the All-beneficent to His servants, [while they were still] unseen. Indeed His promise is bound to come to pass.Ali Quli Qarai
[Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been eminent.Saheeh International
-
19:62
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَ
ٰ مً ۭا ۖ و َلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً ۭو َعَشِيًّۭا ٦٢La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwanilla salaman walahum rizquhum feeha bukratanwaAAashiyya
Therein they will not hear vain talk, but only ‘Peace!’ Therein they will have their provision morning and evening.Ali Quli Qarai
They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon.Saheeh International
-
19:63
تِلْكَ
ٱ لْجَنّ َةُٱ لَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن ك َانَ تَقِيًّۭا ٦٣Tilka aljannatu allatee noorithu min AAibadinaman kana taqiyya
This is the paradise We will give as inheritance to those of Our servants who are Godwary.Ali Quli Qarai
That is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allāh.Saheeh International
-
19:64
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُ
ۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰ لِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّۭا ٦٤Wama natanazzalu illa bi-amrirabbika lahu ma bayna aydeena wama khalfanawama bayna thalika wama kana rabbukanasiyya
[O Gabriel, tell the Prophet,] ‘We do not descend except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs whatever is before us and whatever is behind us and whatever is in between that, and your Lord does not forgetAli Quli Qarai
[Gabriel said], "And we [angels] descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful -Saheeh International

19:65
رَّبُّ
ٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱ عْبُدْ هُ وَٱ صْطَبِرْ لِعِبَٰ دَتِهِۦ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّۭا ٦٥Rabbu assamawati wal-ardiwama baynahuma faAAbudhu wastabirliAAibadatihi hal taAAlamu lahu samiyya
—the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. So worship Him and be steadfast in His worship. Do you know anyone who could be His namesake?’Ali Quli Qarai
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them - so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him?"Saheeh International
-
19:66
وَيَقُولُ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا ٦٦Wayaqoolu al-insanu a-itha mamittu lasawfa okhraju hayya
Man says, ‘What? Shall I be brought forth alive [from the grave], when I have been dead?’Ali Quli Qarai
And man [i.e., the disbeliever] says, "When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive?"Saheeh International
-
19:67
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ أَنّ َا خَلَقْ نَٰ هُ مِن ق َبْ لُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَئًْۭا ٦٧Awa la yathkuru al-insanuanna khalaqnahu min qablu walam yaku shay-a
Does not man remember that We created him before when he was nothing?Ali Quli Qarai
Does man not remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?Saheeh International
-
19:68
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَ
نّ َهُمْ وَٱ ل شَّيَٰ طِينَ ثُمّ َ لَنُحْضِرَنّ َهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنّ َمَ جِثِيًّۭا ٦٨Fawarabbika lanahshurannahum washshayateenathumma lanuhdirannahum hawla jahannama jithiyya
By your Lord, We will surely gather them with the devils; then We will surely bring them up around hell [scrambling] on their knees.Ali Quli Qarai
So by your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils; then We will bring them to be present around Hell upon their knees.Saheeh International
-
19:69
ثُ
مّ َ لَنَنز ِعَنّ َ مِن ك ُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَىٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ عِتِيًّۭا ٦٩Thumma lananziAAanna min kulli sheeAAatinayyuhum ashaddu AAala arrahmaniAAitiyya
Then from every group We shall draw whichever of them was more defiant towards the All-beneficent.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We will surely extract from every sect those of them who were worst against the Most Merciful in insolence.Saheeh International

19:70
ثُ
مّ َ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱ لَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّۭا ٧٠Thumma lanahnu aAAlamu billatheenahum awla biha siliyya
Then surely We will know best those who deserve most to enter it.Ali Quli Qarai
Then, surely it is We who are most knowing of those most worthy of burning therein.Saheeh International
-
19:71
وَإ
ِن م ِّنك ُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمً ۭا م َّقْ ضِيًّۭا ٧١Wa-in minkum illa wariduhakana AAala rabbika hatman maqdiyya
There is none of you but will come to it: a [matter that is a] decided certainty with your Lord.Ali Quli Qarai
And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed.Saheeh International
-
19:72
ثُ
مّ َ نُنَجِّىٱ لَّذِينَٱ تَّقَوا۟ وَّنَذَرُٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّۭا ٧٢Thumma nunajjee allatheena ittaqawwanatharu aththalimeena feehajithiyya
Then We will deliver those who are Godwary, and leave the wrongdoers in it, fallen on their knees.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We will save those who feared Allāh and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees.Saheeh International
-
19:73
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَ
ٰ تُنَا بَيِّنَٰ تٍ ۢق َالَٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓ ا۟ أَىُّٱ لْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ ۭم َّقَامً ۭا و َأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّۭا ٧٣Wa-itha tutla AAalayhim ayatunabayyinatin qala allatheena kafaroo lillatheenaamanoo ayyu alfareeqayni khayrun maqaman waahsanunadiyya
When Our manifest signs are recited to them, the faithless say to the faithful, ‘Which of the two groups is superior in station and better with respect to company?’Ali Quli Qarai
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of [our] two parties is best in position and best in association?"Saheeh International
-
19:74
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَ
بْ لَهُم م ِّن ق َرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَٰ ثً ۭا و َرِءْيًۭا ٧٤Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin humahsanu athathan wari/ya
How many a generation We have destroyed before them, who were superior in furnishings and appearance!Ali Quli Qarai
And how many a generation have We destroyed before them who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance?Saheeh International
-
19:75
قُلْ مَ
ن ك َانَ فِىٱ ل ضَّلَٰ لَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمّ َاٱ لْعَذَابَ وَإِمّ َاٱ ل سَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ ۭم َّكَانً ۭا و َأَضْعَفُ جُند ًۭا ٧٥Qul man kana fee addalalatifalyamdud lahu arrahmanu maddan hattaitha raaw ma yooAAadoona imma alAAathabawa-imma assaAAata fasayaAAlamoona man huwasharrun makanan waadAAafu junda
Say, ‘Whoever abides in error, the All-beneficent shall prolong his respite until they sight what they have been promised: either punishment, or the Hour.’ Then they will know whose position is worse, and whose host is weaker.Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "Whoever is in error - let the Most Merciful extend for him an extension [in wealth and time] until, when they see that which they were promised - either punishment [in this world] or the Hour [of resurrection] - they will come to know who is worst in position and weaker in soldiers."Saheeh International
-
19:76
وَيَزِيدُ
ٱ للَّهُٱ لَّذِينَٱ هْتَدَوْا۟ هُدً ۭى ۗ و َٱ لْبَٰ قِيَٰ تُٱ ل صَّٰ لِحَٰ تُ خَيْرٌ عِند َ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابً ۭا و َخَيْرٌ ۭم َّرَدًّا ٧٦Wayazeedu Allahu allatheenaihtadaw hudan walbaqiyatu assalihatukhayrun AAinda rabbika thawaban wakhayrun maradda
Allah enhances in guidance those who are [rightly] guided, and lasting righteous deeds are better with your Lord in reward, and better at the return [to Allah].Ali Quli Qarai
And Allāh increases those who were guided, in guidance, and the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for recourse.Saheeh International
-
19:77
أَفَرَءَيْتَ
ٱ لَّذِى كَفَرَ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنّ َ مَالً ۭاو َوَلَدًا ٧٧Afaraayta allathee kafara bi-ayatinawaqala laootayanna malan wawalada
Have you not regarded him who defies Our signs, and says, ‘I will surely be given wealth and children’?Ali Quli Qarai
Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]"?Saheeh International
-
19:78
أَطَّلَعَ
ٱ لْغَيْبَ أَمِٱ تَّخَذَ عِند َٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ عَهْدًۭا ٧٨AttalaAAa alghayba ami ittakhathaAAinda arrahmani AAahda
Has he come to know the Unseen, or taken a promise from the All-beneficent?Ali Quli Qarai
Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a promise?Saheeh International
-
19:79
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ
ۥ مِنَٱ لْعَذَابِ مَدًّۭا ٧٩Kalla sanaktubu ma yaqooluwanamuddu lahu mina alAAathabi madda
No indeed! We will write down what he says, and We will prolong his punishment endlessly.Ali Quli Qarai
No! We will record what he says and extend [i.e., increase] for him from the punishment extensively.Saheeh International
-
19:80
وَنَرِثُهُ
ۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًۭا ٨٠Wanarithuhu ma yaqoolu waya/teenafarda
We shall take over from him what he talks about, and he will come to Us alone.Ali Quli Qarai
And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone.Saheeh International
-
19:81
وَ
ٱ تَّخَذُوا۟ مِن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ ءَالِهَةً ۭل ِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّۭا ٨١Wattakhathoo min dooni Allahialihatan liyakoonoo lahum AAizza
They have taken gods besides Allah that they may be a [source of] might to them.Ali Quli Qarai
And they have taken besides Allāh [false] deities that they would be for them [a source of] honor.Saheeh International

19:82
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا ٨٢
Kalla sayakfuroona biAAibadatihimwayakoonoona AAalayhim didda
No Indeed! Soon they will disown their worship, and they will be their opponents.Ali Quli Qarai
No! They [i.e., those "gods"] will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement].Saheeh International

19:83
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَ
نّ َآ أَرْسَلْنَاٱ ل شَّيَٰ طِينَ عَلَىٱ لْكَٰ فِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّۭا ٨٣Alam tara anna arsalna ashshayateenaAAala alkafireena taozzuhum azza
Have you not regarded that We unleash the devils upon the faithless to urge them vigorously?Ali Quli Qarai
Do you not see that We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them [to evil] with [constant] incitement?Saheeh International
-
19:84
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِ
نّ َمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّۭا ٨٤Fala taAAjal AAalayhim innamanaAAuddu lahum AAadda
So do not make haste against them; indeed We are counting for them, a counting [down].Ali Quli Qarai
So be not impatient over them. We only count out [i.e., allow] to them a [limited] number.Saheeh International

19:85
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ
ٱ لْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَىٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ وَفْدًۭا ٨٥Yawma nahshuru almuttaqeena ilaarrahmani wafda
The day We shall gather the Godwary toward the All-beneficent, on mounts,Ali Quli Qarai
On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegationSaheeh International
-
19:86
وَنَسُوقُ
ٱ لْمُجْ رِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنّ َمَ وِرْدًۭا ٨٦Wanasooqu almujrimeena ila jahannamawirda
and drive the guilty as a thirsty herd towards hell,Ali Quli Qarai
And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirstSaheeh International
-
19:87
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ
ٱ ل شَّفَٰ عَةَ إِلَّا مَنِٱ تَّخَذَ عِند َٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ عَهْدًۭا ٨٧La yamlikoona ashshafaAAatailla mani ittakhatha AAinda arrahmaniAAahda
no one will have the power to intercede [with Allah], except for him who has taken a covenant with the All-beneficent.Ali Quli Qarai
None will have [power of] intercession except he who had taken from the Most Merciful a covenant.Saheeh International
-
19:88
وَقَالُو
ا۟ ٱ تَّخَذَٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نُ وَلَدًۭا ٨٨Waqaloo ittakhatha arrahmanuwalada
They say, ‘The All-beneficent has taken a son!’Ali Quli Qarai
And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken [for Himself] a son."Saheeh International

19:89
لَّقَ
دْ جِئْتُمْ شَئًْا إِدًّۭا ٨٩Laqad ji/tum shay-an idda
You have certainly advanced something hideous!Ali Quli Qarai
You have done an atrocious thing.Saheeh International
-
19:90
تَكَادُ
ٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنش َقُّٱ لْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّٱ لْجِبَالُ هَدًّا ٩٠Takadu assamawatuyatafattarna minhu watanshaqqu al-ardu watakhirrualjibalu hadda
The heavens are about to be rent apart at it, the earth to split open, and the mountains to collapse into bits,Ali Quli Qarai
The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastationSaheeh International
-
19:91
أَ
ن د َعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَٰ نِ وَلَدًۭا ٩١An daAAaw lirrahmaniwalada
that they should ascribe a son to the All-beneficent!Ali Quli Qarai
That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son.Saheeh International
-
19:92
وَمَا يَ
نۢب َغِى لِلرَّحْمَٰ نِ أَن ي َتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا ٩٢Wama yanbaghee lirrahmanian yattakhitha walada
It does not behoove the All-beneficent to take a son.Ali Quli Qarai
And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son.Saheeh International

19:93
إِ
ن ك ُلُّ مَن ف ِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِىٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ عَبْ دًۭا ٩٣In kullu man fee assamawatiwal-ardi illa atee arrahmaniAAabda
There is none in the heavens and the earth but he comes to the All-beneficent as a servant.Ali Quli Qarai
There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant.Saheeh International
-
19:94
لَّقَ
دْ أَحْصَىٰ هُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّۭا ٩٤Laqad ahsahum waAAaddahum AAadda
Certainly He has counted them [all] and numbered them precisely,Ali Quli Qarai
He has enumerated them and counted them a [full] counting.Saheeh International
-
19:95
وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ
ٱ لْقِيَٰ مَةِ فَرْدًا ٩٥Wakulluhum ateehi yawma alqiyamatifarda
and each of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection.Ali Quli Qarai
And all of them are coming to Him on the Day of Resurrection alone.Saheeh International
-
19:96
إِ
نّ َٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱ ل صَّٰ لِحَٰ تِ سَيَجْ عَلُ لَهُمُٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نُ وُدًّۭا ٩٦Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati sayajAAalu lahumu arrahmanuwudda
Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—the All-beneficent will endear them [to His creation].Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.Saheeh International

19:97
فَإِ
نّ َمَا يَسَّرْنَٰ هُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِٱ لْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذ ِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمً ۭا ل ُّدًّۭا ٩٧Fa-innama yassarnahu bilisanikalitubashshira bihi almuttaqeena watunthira bihi qawmanludda
Indeed We have made it simple in your language so that you may give good news thereby to the Godwary and warn with it a disputatious lot.Ali Quli Qarai
So, [O Muḥammad], We have only made it [i.e., the Qur’ān] easy in your tongue [i.e., the Arabic language] that you may give good tidings thereby to the righteous and warn thereby a hostile people.Saheeh International

19:98
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَ
بْ لَهُم م ِّن ق َرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم م ِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا ٩٨Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin haltuhissu minhum min ahadin aw tasmaAAu lahum rikza
How many a generation We have destroyed before them! Can you descry any one of them, or hear from them so much as a murmur?Ali Quli Qarai
And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?Saheeh International
