بِسْمِ
-
21:1
ٱ
قْ تَرَبَ لِلنّ َاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ ۢم ُّعْرِضُو نَ ١Iqtaraba linnasi hisabuhumwahum fee ghaflatin muAAridoon
Mankind’s reckoning has drawn near to them, yet they are disregardful in [their] obliviousness.Ali Quli Qarai
[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.Saheeh International
-
21:2
مَا يَأْتِيه
ِم م ِّن ذ ِكْرٍ ۢم ِّن ر َّبِّهِم م ُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّاٱ سْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُو نَ ٢Ma ya/teehim min thikrin minrabbihim muhdathin illa istamaAAoohu wahumyalAAaboon
There does not come to them any new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it as they play around,Ali Quli Qarai
No mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at playSaheeh International

21:3
لَاهِيَ
ةً ۭق ُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱ ل نّ َجْ وَىٱ لَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰ ذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ ۭم ِّثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَٱ ل سِّحْرَ وَأَنت ُمْ تُبْ صِرُو نَ ٣Lahiyatan quloobuhum waasarroo annajwaallatheena thalamoo hal hatha illabasharun mithlukum afata/toona assihra waantum tubsiroon
their hearts set on diversions. The wrongdoers secretly whisper together, [saying], ‘Is this [man] not a human being like yourselves? Will you give in to magic with open eyes?’Ali Quli Qarai
With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?"Saheeh International

21:4
قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ
ٱ لْقَوْلَ فِىٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَٱ ل سَّمِيعُٱ لْعَلِي مُ ٤Qala rabbee yaAAlamu alqawla fee assama-iwal-ardi wahuwa assameeAAu alAAaleem
He said, ‘My Lord knows every word [spoken] in the sky and on the earth, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.’Ali Quli Qarai
He [the Prophet (ﷺ)] said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing."Saheeh International

21:5
بَلْ قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَضْغَٰ ثُ أَحْلَٰ مٍۭ ب َلِٱ فْتَرَىٰ هُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ ۭف َلْيَأْتِنَا بَِٔايَةٍ ۢك َمَآ أُرْسِلَٱ لْأَوَّلُو نَ ٥Bal qaloo adghathu ahlaminbali iftarahu bal huwa shaAAirun falya/tinabi-ayatin kama orsila al-awwaloon
But they said, ‘[They are] muddled dreams!’ ‘Indeed, he has fabricated it!’ ‘Indeed, he is a poet!’ ‘Let him bring us a sign, like those sent to the former generations.’Ali Quli Qarai
But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]."Saheeh International

21:6
م
َآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْ لَهُم م ِّن ق َرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰ هَآ ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُو نَ ٦Ma amanat qablahum min qaryatinahlaknaha afahum yu/minoon
No town that We destroyed before them believed. Will these then have faith [if they are sent signs]?Ali Quli Qarai
Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe?Saheeh International

21:7
وَم
َآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْ لَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالً ۭان ُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَسَْٔلُوٓ ا۟ أَهْلَٱ ل ذِّكْرِ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُو نَ ٧Wama arsalna qablaka illarijalan noohee ilayhim fas-aloo ahla aththikriin kuntum la taAAlamoon
We did not send [any apostles] before you except as men to whom We revealed. Ask the People of the Reminder if you do not know.Ali Quli Qarai
And We sent not before you, [O Muḥammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.Saheeh International

21:8
وَمَا جَعَلْنَ
ٰ هُمْ جَسَدً ۭا ل َّا يَأْكُلُونَٱ ل طَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَٰ لِدِي نَ ٨Wama jaAAalnahum jasadan laya/kuloona attaAAama wama kanookhalideen
We did not make them bodies that did not eat food, nor were they immortal.Ali Quli Qarai
And We did not make them [i.e., the prophets] forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth].Saheeh International

21:9
ثُ
مّ َ صَدَقْ نَٰ هُمُٱ لْوَعْدَ فَأَنج َيْنَٰ هُمْ وَمَن ن َّشَا ٓءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَاٱ لْمُسْرِفِي نَ ٩Thumma sadaqnahumu alwaAAdafaanjaynahum waman nashao waahlaknaalmusrifeen
Then We fulfilled Our promise to them, and We delivered them and whomever We wished, and We destroyed the transgressors.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors.Saheeh International

21:10
لَقَ
دْ أَنز َلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَٰ بً ۭا ف ِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُو نَ ١٠Laqad anzalna ilaykum kitabanfeehi thikrukum afala taAAqiloon
Certainly We have sent down to you a Book in which there is an admonition for you. Do you not exercise your reason?Ali Quli Qarai
We have certainly sent down to you a Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] in which is your mention. Then will you not reason?Saheeh International

21:11
وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِ
ن ق َرْيَةٍ ۢك َانَتْ ظَالِمَةً ۭو َأَنش َأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِي نَ ١١Wakam qasamna min qaryatin kanatthalimatan waansha/na baAAdahaqawman akhareen
How many a town We have smashed that had been wrongdoing, and We brought forth another people after it.Ali Quli Qarai
And how many a city which was unjust have We shattered and produced after it another people.Saheeh International
-
21:12
فَلَ
مّ َآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم م ِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُو نَ ١٢Falamma ahassoo ba/sanaitha hum minha yarkudoon
So when they sighted Our punishment, behold, they ran away from it.Ali Quli Qarai
And when they [i.e., its inhabitants] perceived Our punishment, at once they fled from it.Saheeh International

21:13
لَا تَرْكُضُو
ا۟ وَٱ رْجِعُوٓ ا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰ كِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسَْٔلُو نَ ١٣La tarkudoo warjiAAooila ma otriftum feehi wamasakinikumlaAAallakum tus-aloon
‘Do not run away! Return to the opulence you were given to enjoy and to your dwellings so that you may be questioned!’Ali Quli Qarai
[Some angels said], "Do not flee but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes - perhaps you will be questioned."Saheeh International

21:14
قَالُو
ا۟ يَٰ وَيْلَنَآ إِنّ َا كُنّ َا ظَٰ لِمِي نَ ١٤Qaloo ya waylana innakunna thalimeen
They said, ‘Woe to us! We have indeed been wrongdoers!’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "O woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."Saheeh International
-
21:15
فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَ
ىٰ هُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَٰ هُمْ حَصِيدًا خَٰ مِدِي نَ ١٥Fama zalat tilka daAAwahumhatta jaAAalnahum haseedan khamideen
That remained their cry until We turned them into a mown field, stilled [like burnt ashes].Ali Quli Qarai
And that declaration of theirs did not cease until We made them [as] a harvest [mowed down], extinguished [like a fire].Saheeh International

21:16
وَمَا خَلَ
قْ نَاٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءَ وَٱ لْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰ عِبِي نَ ١٦Wama khalaqna assamaawal-arda wama baynahuma laAAibeen
We did not create the sky and the earth and whatever is between them for play.Ali Quli Qarai
And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play.Saheeh International
-
21:17
لَوْ أَرَ
دْ نَآ أَن ن َّتَّخِذَ لَهْوً ۭا ل َّٱ تَّخَذْنَٰ هُ مِن ل َّدُنّ َآ إِن ك ُنّ َا فَٰ عِلِي نَ ١٧Law aradna an nattakhithalahwan lattakhathnahu min ladunna inkunna faAAileen
Had We desired to take up some diversion We would have taken it up with Ourselves, were We to do [so].Ali Quli Qarai
Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us - if [indeed] We were to do so.Saheeh International
-
21:18
بَلْ نَ
قْ ذِفُ بِٱ لْحَقِّ عَلَىٱ لْبَٰ طِلِ فَيَدْ مَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ ۭۚ و َلَكُمُٱ لْوَيْلُ مِمّ َا تَصِفُو نَ ١٨Bal naqthifu bilhaqqiAAala albatili fayadmaghuhu fa-itha huwa zahiqunwalakumu alwaylu mimma tasifoon
Indeed, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it crushes its head, and behold, falsehood vanishes! And woe to you for what you allege [about Allah].Ali Quli Qarai
Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs. And for you is destruction from that which you describe.Saheeh International

21:19
وَلَهُ
ۥ مَن ف ِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَنْ عِند َهُۥ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُو نَ ١٩Walahu man fee assamawatiwal-ardi waman AAindahu la yastakbiroonaAAan AAibadatihi wala yastahsiroon
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and those who are near Him do not disdain to worship Him, nor do they become weary.Ali Quli Qarai
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him [i.e., the angels] are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.Saheeh International
-
21:20
يُسَبِّحُونَ
ٱ لَّيْلَ وَٱ ل نّ َهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُو نَ ٢٠Yusabbihoona allayla wannaharala yafturoon
They glorify [Him] night and day, and they do not flag.Ali Quli Qarai
They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.Saheeh International
-
21:21
أَمِ
ٱ تَّخَذُوٓ ا۟ ءَالِهَةً ۭم ِّنَٱ لْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنش ِرُو نَ ٢١Ami ittakhathoo alihatan minaal-ardi hum yunshiroon
Have they taken gods from the earth who raise [the dead]?Ali Quli Qarai
Or have they [i.e., men] taken for themselves gods from the earth who resurrect [the dead]?Saheeh International
-
21:22
لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِم
َآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّاٱ للَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا ۚ فَسُبْ حَٰ نَٱ للَّهِ رَبِّٱ لْعَرْشِ عَمّ َا يَصِفُو نَ ٢٢Law kana feehima alihatunilla Allahu lafasadata fasubhana Allahirabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoon
Had there been any gods in them other than Allah, they would surely have fallen apart. Clear is Allah, the Lord of the Throne, of what they allege [concerning Him].Ali Quli Qarai
Had there been within them [i.e., the heavens and earth] gods besides Allāh, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allāh, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.Saheeh International
-
21:23
لَا يُسَْٔلُ عَ
مّ َا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسَْٔلُو نَ ٢٣La yus-alu AAamma yafAAaluwahum yus-aloon
He is not questioned concerning what He does, but they are questioned.Ali Quli Qarai
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.Saheeh International
-
21:24
أَمِ
ٱ تَّخَذُوا۟ مِن د ُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً ۭۖ ق ُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰ نَكُمْ ۖ هَٰ ذَا ذِكْرُ مَن م َّعِىَ وَذِكْرُ مَن ق َبْ لِى ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَٱ لْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُم م ُّعْرِضُو نَ ٢٤Ami ittakhathoo min doonihi alihatanqul hatoo burhanakum hatha thikru manmaAAiya wathikru man qablee bal aktharuhum layaAAlamoona alhaqqa fahum muAAridoon
Have they taken gods besides Him? Say, ‘Produce your evidence! This is a precept of those who are with me, and a precept of those [who went] before me.’ But most of them do not know the truth, and so they are disregardful.Ali Quli Qarai
Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, [O Muḥammad], "Produce your proof. This [Qur’ān] is the message for those with me and the message of those before me." But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away.Saheeh International
-
21:25
وَم
َآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن ق َبْ لِكَ مِن ر َّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِ أَنّ َهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰ هَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱ عْبُدُو نِ ٢٥Wama arsalna min qablika minrasoolin illa noohee ilayhi annahu la ilahailla ana faAAbudoon
We did not send any apostle before you but that We revealed to him that ‘There is no god except Me; so worship Me.’Ali Quli Qarai
And We sent not before you any messenger except We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."Saheeh International
-
21:26
وَقَالُو
ا۟ ٱ تَّخَذَٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نُ وَلَدً ۭا ۗ س ُبْ حَٰ نَهُۥ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌ ۭم ُّكْرَمُو نَ ٢٦Waqaloo ittakhatha arrahmanuwaladan subhanahu bal AAibadun mukramoon
They say, ‘The All-beneficent has taken offsprings.’ Immaculate is He! Indeed, they are [His] honoured servants.Ali Quli Qarai
And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants.Saheeh International
-
21:27
لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُ
ۥ بِٱ لْقَوْلِ وَهُم ب ِأَمْرِهِۦ يَعْمَلُو نَ ٢٧La yasbiqoonahu bilqawliwahum bi-amrihi yaAAmaloon
They do not venture to speak ahead of Him, and they act by His command.Ali Quli Qarai
They cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command.Saheeh International
-
21:28
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ
ٱ رْتَضَىٰ وَهُم م ِّنْ خَشْيَتِهِۦ مُشْفِقُو نَ ٢٨YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wamakhalfahum wala yashfaAAoona illa limani irtadawahum min khashyatihi mushfiqoon
He knows that which is before them and that which is behind them, and they do not intercede except for someone He approves of, and they are apprehensive for the fear of Him.Ali Quli Qarai
He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.Saheeh International
-
21:29
۞ وَم
َن ي َقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنّ ِىٓ إِلَٰ هٌ ۭم ِّن د ُونِهِۦ فَذَٰ لِكَ نَجْ زِيهِ جَهَنّ َمَ ۚ كَذَٰ لِكَ نَجْ زِىٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ٢٩Waman yaqul minhum innee ilahun mindoonihi fathalika najzeehi jahannama kathalikanajzee aththalimeen
Should any of them say, ‘I am a god besides Him,’ We will requite him with hell. Thus do We requite the wrongdoers.Ali Quli Qarai
And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a god besides Him" - that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.Saheeh International
-
21:30
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓ ا۟ أَنّ َٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقً ۭا ف َفَتَقْ نَٰ هُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَٱ لْمَا ٓءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُو نَ ٣٠Awa lam yara allatheenakafaroo anna assamawati wal-ardakanata ratqan fafataqnahuma wajaAAalnamina alma-i kulla shay-in hayyin afalayu/minoon
Have the faithless not regarded that the heavens and the earth were interwoven and We unravelled them, and We made every living thing out of water? Will they not then have faith?Ali Quli Qarai
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?Saheeh International
-
21:31
وَجَعَلْنَا فِى
ٱ لْأَرْضِ رَوَٰ سِىَ أَن ت َمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجً ۭا س ُبُلً ۭال َّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُو نَ ٣١WajaAAalna fee al-ardi rawasiyaan tameeda bihim wajaAAalna feeha fijajansubulan laAAallahum yahtadoon
We set firm mountains in the earth lest it should shake with them, and We made broad ways in them so that they may be guided [to their destinations].Ali Quli Qarai
And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.Saheeh International
-
21:32
وَجَعَلْنَا
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءَ سَقْ فً ۭا م َّحْفُوظً ۭا ۖ و َهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰ تِهَا مُعْرِضُو نَ ٣٢WajaAAalna assamaasaqfan mahfoothan wahum AAan ayatihamuAAridoon
We made the sky a preserved roof and yet they are disregardful of its signs.Ali Quli Qarai
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.Saheeh International
-
21:33
وَهُوَ
ٱ لَّذِى خَلَقَٱ لَّيْلَ وَٱ ل نّ َهَارَ وَٱ ل شَّمْسَ وَٱ لْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ ۭف ِى فَلَكٍ ۢي َسْبَحُو نَ ٣٣Wahuwa allathee khalaqa allayla wannaharawashshamsa walqamara kullun fee falakin yasbahoon
It is He who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon, each swimming in an orbit.Ali Quli Qarai
And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.Saheeh International
-
21:34
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَ
رٍ ۢم ِّن ق َبْ لِكَٱ لْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِي۟ ن م ِّتَّ فَهُمُٱ لْخَٰ لِدُو نَ ٣٤Wama jaAAalna libasharin minqablika alkhulda afa-in mitta fahumu alkhalidoon
We did not give immortality to any human before you. If you are fated to die, will they live on forever?Ali Quli Qarai
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal?Saheeh International
-
21:35
كُلُّ نَفْ
سٍ ۢذ َا ٓئِقَةُٱ لْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْ لُوكُم ب ِٱ ل شَّرِّ وَٱ لْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۭۖ و َإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُو نَ ٣٥Kullu nafsin tha-iqatu almawtiwanablookum bishsharri walkhayri fitnatanwa-ilayna turjaAAoon
Every soul shall taste death, and We will test you with good and ill by way of test, and to Us you will be brought back.Ali Quli Qarai
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.Saheeh International
-
21:36
وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓ ا۟ إِن ي َتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰ ذَاٱ لَّذِى يَذْكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم ب ِذِكْرِٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ هُمْ كَٰ فِرُو نَ ٣٦Wa-itha raaka allatheenakafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahathaallathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikriarrahmani hum kafiroon
Whenever the faithless see you they only take you in derision: ‘Is this the one who remembers your gods?’ while they remain defiant towards the remembrance of the All-beneficent.Ali Quli Qarai
And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who mentions [i.e., insults] your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers.Saheeh International
-
21:37
خُلِقَ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ ۢۚ س َأُو۟ رِيكُمْ ءَايَٰ تِى فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُو نِ ٣٧Khuliqa al-insanu min AAajalinsaoreekum ayatee fala tastaAAjiloon
Man is a creature of haste. Soon I will show you My signs. So do not ask Me to hasten.Ali Quli Qarai
Man was created of haste [i.e., impatience]. I will show you My signs [i.e., vengeance], so do not impatiently urge Me.Saheeh International
-
21:38
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَ
ٰ ذَاٱ لْوَعْدُ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ صَٰ دِقِي نَ ٣٨Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen
And they say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?’Ali Quli Qarai
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"Saheeh International

21:39
لَوْ يَعْلَمُ
ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن و ُجُوهِهِمُٱ ل نّ َارَ وَلَا عَن ظ ُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنص َرُو نَ ٣٩Law yaAAlamu allatheena kafaroo heenala yakuffoona AAan wujoohihimu annara walaAAan thuhoorihim wala hum yunsaroon
If only the faithless knew about the time when they will not be able to keep the Fire off their faces and their backs, nor will they be helped!Ali Quli Qarai
If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided...Saheeh International

21:40
بَلْ تَأْتِيه
ِم ب َغْتَةً ۭف َتَبْ هَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظ َرُو نَ ٤٠Bal ta/teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falayastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoon
Indeed, it will overtake them suddenly, dumbfounding them. So they will neither be able to avert it, nor will they be granted any respite.Ali Quli Qarai
Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.Saheeh International

21:41
وَلَقَدِ
ٱ سْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ ۢم ِّن ق َبْ لِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱ لَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُم م َّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُو نَ ٤١Walaqadi istuhzi-a birusulin min qablika fahaqabillatheena sakhiroo minhum ma kanoobihi yastahzi-oon
Apostles were certainly derided before you; but those who ridiculed them were besieged by what they had been deriding.Ali Quli Qarai
And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.Saheeh International

21:42
قُلْ م
َن ي َكْلَؤُكُم ب ِٱ لَّيْلِ وَٱ ل نّ َهَارِ مِنَٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذ ِكْرِ رَبِّهِم م ُّعْرِضُو نَ ٤٢Qul man yaklaokum billayli wannaharimina arrahmani bal hum AAan thikrirabbihim muAAridoon
Say, ‘Who can guard you, day and night, against [the punishment of] the All-beneficent [should He want to punish you]?’ Indeed, they are disregardful of their Lord’s remembrance.Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful?" But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away.Saheeh International

21:43
أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَ
ةٌ ۭت َمْنَعُهُم م ِّن د ُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنف ُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم م ِّنّ َا يُصْحَبُو نَ ٤٣Am lahum alihatun tamnaAAuhum mindoonina la yastateeAAoona nasraanfusihim wala hum minna yushaboon
Do they have gods besides Us to defend them? Neither can they help themselves, nor can they shield [the idolaters] from Us.Ali Quli Qarai
Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us.Saheeh International

21:44
بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَ
ٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ وَءَابَا ٓءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُٱ لْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنّ َا نَأْتِىٱ لْأَرْضَ نَنق ُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْ رَافِهَآ ۚ أَفَهُمُٱ لْغَٰ لِبُو نَ ٤٤Bal mattaAAna haola-iwaabaahum hatta talaAAalayhimu alAAumuru afala yarawna anna na/teeal-arda nanqusuha min atrafihaafahumu alghaliboon
Indeed, We have provided for them and their fathers until they lived on for long years. Do they not see how We visit the land diminishing it at its edges? Are they the ones who will prevail?Ali Quli Qarai
But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? Is it they who will overcome?Saheeh International

21:45
قُلْ إِ
نّ َمَآ أُنذ ِرُكُم ب ِٱ لْوَحْىِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُٱ ل صُّمّ ُٱ ل دُّعَا ٓءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذ َرُو نَ ٤٥Qul innama onthirukum bilwahyiwala yasmaAAu assummu adduAAaaitha ma yuntharoon
Say, ‘I indeed warn you by the means of revelation.’ But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.Saheeh International

21:46
وَلَئ
ِن م َّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ ۭم ِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنّ َ يَٰ وَيْلَنَآ إِنّ َا كُنّ َا ظَٰ لِمِي نَ ٤٦Wala-in massat-hum nafhatun min AAathabirabbika layaqoolunna ya waylana inna kunnathalimeen
Should a whiff of your Lord’s punishment touch them, they will surely say, ‘Woe to us! We have indeed been wrongdoers!’Ali Quli Qarai
And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers."Saheeh International

21:47
وَنَضَعُ
ٱ لْمَوَٰ زِينَٱ لْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِٱ لْقِيَٰ مَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ ۭش َئًْ ۭا ۖ و َإِن ك َانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ ۢم ِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰ سِبِي نَ ٤٧WanadaAAu almawazeena alqistaliyawmi alqiyamati fala tuthlamunafsun shay-an wa-in kana mithqala habbatinmin khardalin atayna biha wakafa binahasibeen
We shall set up just scales on the Day of Resurrection, and no soul will be wronged in the least. Even if it be the weight of a mustard seed We shall produce it and We suffice as reckoners.Ali Quli Qarai
And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.Saheeh International

21:48
وَلَقَ
دْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰ رُونَٱ لْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَا ٓءً ۭو َذِكْرً ۭا ل ِّلْمُتَّقِي نَ ٤٨Walaqad atayna moosawaharoona alfurqana wadiyaan wathikranlilmuttaqeen
Certainly We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, a light and reminder for the GodwaryAli Quli Qarai
And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteousSaheeh International
-
21:49
ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّه
ُم ب ِٱ لْغَيْبِ وَهُم م ِّنَٱ ل سَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُو نَ ٤٩Allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bilghaybiwahum mina assaAAati mushfiqoon
—those who fear their Lord in secret, and who are apprehensive of the Hour.Ali Quli Qarai
Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive.Saheeh International
-
21:50
وَهَ
ٰ ذَا ذِكْرٌ ۭم ُّبَارَكٌ أَنز َلْنَٰ هُ ۚ أَفَأَنت ُمْ لَهُۥ مُنك ِرُو نَ ٥٠Wahatha thikrun mubarakunanzalnahu afaantum lahu munkiroon
This [too] is a blessed reminder, which We have sent down. Will you then deny it?Ali Quli Qarai
And this [Qur’ān] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted?Saheeh International

21:51
۞ وَلَقَ
دْ ءَاتَيْنَآ إِبْ رَٰ هِيمَ رُشْدَهُۥ مِن ق َبْ لُ وَكُنّ َا بِهِۦ عَٰ لِمِي نَ ٥١Walaqad atayna ibraheemarushdahu min qablu wakunna bihi AAalimeen
Certainly We had given Abraham his probity before, and We knew himAli Quli Qarai
And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-KnowingSaheeh International

21:52
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِه
ِۦ مَا هَٰ ذِهِٱ ل تَّمَاثِيلُٱ لَّتِىٓ أَنت ُمْ لَهَا عَٰ كِفُو نَ ٥٢Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mahathihi attamatheelu allatee antum lahaAAakifoon
when he said to his father and his people, ‘What are these images to which you keep on clinging?’Ali Quli Qarai
When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"Saheeh International

21:53
قَالُو
ا۟ وَجَدْ نَآ ءَابَا ٓءَنَا لَهَا عَٰ بِدِي نَ ٥٣Qaloo wajadna abaanalaha AAabideen
They said, ‘We found our fathers worshipping them.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We found our fathers worshippers of them."Saheeh International

21:54
قَالَ لَقَ
دْ كُنت ُمْ أَنت ُمْ وَءَابَا ٓؤُكُمْ فِى ضَلَٰ لٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ٥٤Qala laqad kuntum antum waabaokumfee dalalin mubeen
He said, ‘Certainly you and your fathers have been in manifest error.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error."Saheeh International

21:55
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱ لْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنت َ مِنَٱ ل لَّٰ عِبِي نَ ٥٥Qaloo aji/tana bilhaqqiam anta mina allaAAibeen
They said, ‘Are you telling the truth, or are you [just] kidding?’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest?"Saheeh International

21:56
قَالَ بَ
ل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِٱ لَّذِى فَطَرَهُنّ َ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰ لِكُم م ِّنَٱ ل شَّٰ هِدِي نَ ٥٦Qala bal rabbukum rabbu assamawatiwal-ardi allathee fatarahunna waanaAAala thalikum mina ashshahideen
He said, ‘Indeed, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who originated them, and I affirm that.Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify.Saheeh International

21:57
وَتَ
ٱ للَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنّ َ أَصْنَٰ مَكُم ب َعْدَ أَن ت ُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْ بِرِي نَ ٥٧Watallahi laakeedanna asnamakumbaAAda an tuwalloo mudbireen
By Allah, I will devise a stratagem against your idols after you have gone away.’Ali Quli Qarai
And [I swear] by Allāh, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away."Saheeh International

21:58
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَ
ٰ ذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرً ۭا ل َّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُو نَ ٥٨FajaAAalahum juthathan illakabeeran lahum laAAallahum ilayhi yarjiAAoon
So he broke them into pieces—all except the biggest of them—so that they might come back to it.Ali Quli Qarai
So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question].Saheeh International
-
21:59
قَالُو
ا۟ مَن ف َعَلَ هَٰ ذَا بَِٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنّ َهُۥ لَمِنَٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ٥٩Qaloo man faAAala hatha bi-alihatinainnahu lamina aththalimeen
They said, ‘Whoever has done this to Our gods?! He is indeed a wrongdoer!’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers."Saheeh International

21:60
قَالُو
ا۟ سَمِعْنَا فَتً ۭى ي َذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبْ رَٰ هِي مُ ٦٠Qaloo samiAAna fatan yathkuruhumyuqalu lahu ibraheem
They said, ‘We heard a young man mentioning them. He is called ‘‘Abraham.’’ ’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham."Saheeh International

21:61
قَالُو
ا۟ فَأْتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِٱ ل نّ َاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُو نَ ٦١Qaloo fa/too bihi AAalaaAAyuni annasi laAAallahum yashhadoon
They said, ‘Bring him before the people’s eyes so that they may bear witness [against him].’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify."Saheeh International

21:62
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ ءَأَنت َ فَعَلْتَ هَٰ ذَا بَِٔالِهَتِنَا يَٰٓ إِبْ رَٰ هِي مُ ٦٢Qaloo aanta faAAalta hatha bi-alihatinaya ibraheem
They said, ‘Was it you who did this to our gods, O Abraham?’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Have you done this to our gods, O Abraham?"Saheeh International
-
21:63
قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ
ۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰ ذَا فَسَْٔلُوهُمْ إِن ك َانُوا۟ يَنط ِقُو نَ ٦٣Qala bal faAAalahu kabeeruhum hathafas-aloohum in kanoo yantiqoon
He said, ‘No, it was this biggest one of them who did it! Ask them, if they can speak.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak."Saheeh International

21:64
فَرَجَع
ُوٓ ا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَنف ُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوٓ ا۟ إِنّ َكُمْ أَنت ُمُٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمُو نَ ٦٤FarajaAAoo ila anfusihim faqalooinnakum antumu aththalimoon
Thereat they came to themselves and said [to one another], ‘Indeed it is you who are the wrongdoers!’Ali Quli Qarai
So they returned to [blaming] themselves and said [to each other], "Indeed, you are the wrongdoers."Saheeh International
-
21:65
ثُ
مّ َ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ يَنط ِقُو نَ ٦٥Thumma nukisoo AAala ruoosihim laqadAAalimta ma haola-i yantiqoon
Then they hung their heads. [However, they said,] ‘You certainly know that they cannot speak.’Ali Quli Qarai
Then they reversed themselves, [saying], "You have already known that these do not speak!"Saheeh International

21:66
قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِ
ن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ مَا لَا يَنف َعُكُمْ شَئًْ ۭا و َلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ ٦٦Qala afataAAbudoona min dooni Allahima la yanfaAAukum shay-an wala yadurrukum
He said, ‘Then, do you worship besides Allah that which cannot cause you any benefit or harm?Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Then do you worship instead of Allāh that which does not benefit you at all or harm you?Saheeh International

21:67
أُ
فٍّ ۢل َّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُو نَ ٦٧Offin lakum walima taAAbudoona mindooni Allahi afala taAAqiloon
Fie on you and what you worship besides Allah! Do you not exercise your reason?’Ali Quli Qarai
Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allāh. Then will you not use reason?"Saheeh International

21:68
قَالُو
ا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱ نص ُرُوٓ ا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ فَٰ عِلِي نَ ٦٨Qaloo harriqoohu wansurooalihatakum in kuntum faAAileen
They said, ‘Burn him, and help your gods, if you are to do anything!’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Burn him and support your gods - if you are to act."Saheeh International

21:69
قُلْنَا يَ
ٰ نَارُ كُونِى بَرْدً ۭا و َسَلَٰ مًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْ رَٰ هِي مَ ٦٩Qulna ya naru kooneebardan wasalaman AAala ibraheem
We said, ‘O fire! Be cool and safe for Abraham!’Ali Quli Qarai
We [i.e., Allāh] said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham."Saheeh International

21:70
وَأَرَادُو
ا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدً ۭا ف َجَعَلْنَٰ هُمُٱ لْأَخْسَرِي نَ ٧٠Waaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumual-akhsareen
They plotted to harm him, but We made them the biggest losers.Ali Quli Qarai
And they intended for him a plan [i.e., harm], but We made them the greatest losers.Saheeh International
-
21:71
وَنَجَّيْنَ
ٰ هُ وَلُوطًا إِلَىٱ لْأَرْضِٱ لَّتِى بَٰ رَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٧١Wanajjaynahu walootan ilaal-ardi allatee barakna feeha lilAAalameen
We delivered him and Lot toward the land, which We have blessed for all nations.Ali Quli Qarai
And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds [i.e., peoples].Saheeh International
-
21:72
وَوَهَ
بْ نَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰ قَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً ۭۖ و َكُلًّ ۭاج َعَلْنَا صَٰ لِحِي نَ ٧٢Wawahabna lahu ishaqawayaAAqooba nafilatan wakullan jaAAalna saliheen
And We gave him Isaac, and Jacob as well for a grandson, and each of them We made righteous.Ali Quli Qarai
And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all [of them] We made righteous.Saheeh International
-
21:73
وَجَعَلْنَ
ٰ هُمْ أَئِمّ َةً ۭي َهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَٱ لْخَيْرَٰ تِ وَإِقَامَٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةِ وَإِيتَا ٓءَٱ ل زَّكَو ٰ ةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَٰ بِدِي نَ ٧٣WajaAAalnahum a-immatan yahdoonabi-amrina waawhayna ilayhim fiAAla alkhayratiwa-iqama assalati wa-eetaa azzakatiwakanoo lana AAabideen
We made them imams, guiding by Our command, and We revealed to them [concerning] the performance of good deeds, the maintenance of prayers, and the giving of zakat, and they used to worship Us.Ali Quli Qarai
And We made them leaders guiding by Our command. And We inspired to them the doing of good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of zakāh; and they were worshippers of Us.Saheeh International

21:74
وَلُوطًا ءَاتَيْنَ
ٰ هُ حُكْمً ۭا و َعِلْمً ۭا و َنَجَّيْنَٰ هُ مِنَٱ لْقَرْيَةِٱ لَّتِى كَانَت تَّعْمَلُٱ لْخَبَٰٓ ئِثَ ۗ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ ۢف َٰ سِقِي نَ ٧٤Walootan ataynahu hukmanwaAAilman wanajjaynahu mina alqaryati allatee kanattaAAmalu alkhaba-itha innahum kanoo qawma saw-in fasiqeen
We gave judgement and knowledge to Lot, and We delivered him from the town which used to commit vicious acts. Indeed, they were an evil and depraved lot.Ali Quli Qarai
And to Lot We gave judgement and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people of evil, defiantly disobedient.Saheeh International

21:75
وَأَ
دْ خَلْنَٰ هُ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنّ َهُۥ مِنَٱ ل صَّٰ لِحِي نَ ٧٥Waadkhalnahu fee rahmatinainnahu mina assaliheen
And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was one of the righteous.Ali Quli Qarai
And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous.Saheeh International
-
21:76
وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِ
ن ق َبْ لُ فَٱ سْتَجَبْ نَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيْنَٰ هُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَٱ لْكَرْبِٱ لْعَظِي مِ ٧٦Wanoohan ith nadamin qablu fastajabna lahu fanajjaynahuwaahlahu mina alkarbi alAAatheem
And before that Noah, when he called out, We responded to him and delivered him and his family from the great agony.Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allāh] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great affliction [i.e., the flood].Saheeh International

21:77
وَنَصَرْنَ
ٰ هُ مِنَٱ لْقَوْمِٱ لَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَآ ۚ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ ۢف َأَغْرَقْ نَٰ هُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٧٧Wanasarnahu mina alqawmi allatheenakaththaboo bi-ayatina innahum kanooqawma saw-in faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeen
And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs. They were indeed an evil lot; so We drowned them all.Ali Quli Qarai
And We aided [i.e., saved] him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together.Saheeh International
-
21:78
وَدَاوُ
ۥ دَ وَسُلَيْمَٰ نَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِىٱ لْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُٱ لْقَوْمِ وَكُنّ َا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَٰ هِدِي نَ ٧٨Wadawooda wasulaymana ithyahkumani fee alharthi ith nafashatfeehi ghanamu alqawmi wakunna lihukmihim shahideen
And [remember] David and Solomon when they gave judgement concerning the tillage when the sheep of some people strayed into it by night, and We were witness to their judgement.Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field - when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement.Saheeh International

21:79
فَفَهَّمْنَ
ٰ هَا سُلَيْمَٰ نَ ۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيْنَا حُكْمً ۭا و َعِلْمً ۭا ۚ و َسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥ دَٱ لْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَٱ ل طَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنّ َا فَٰ عِلِي نَ ٧٩Fafahhamnaha sulaymanawakullan atayna hukman waAAilman wasakhkharnamaAAa dawooda aljibala yusabbihna wattayrawakunna faAAileen
We gave its understanding to Solomon, and to each We gave judgement and knowledge. We disposed the mountains and the birds to glorify [Us] with David, and We have been the doer [of these things].Ali Quli Qarai
And We gave understanding of it [i.e., the case] to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that].Saheeh International

21:80
وَعَلَّمْنَ
ٰ هُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ ۢل َّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُم م ِّنۢ ب َأْسِكُمْ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنت ُمْ شَٰ كِرُو نَ ٨٠WaAAallamnahu sanAAatalaboosin lakum lituhsinakum min ba/sikum fahal antum shakiroon
We taught him the making of coats of mail for you, to protect you from your [own] violence. Will you then be grateful?Ali Quli Qarai
And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful?Saheeh International
-
21:81
وَلِسُلَيْمَ
ٰ نَٱ ل رِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً ۭت َجْ رِى بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِلَىٱ لْأَرْضِٱ لَّتِى بَٰ رَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنّ َا بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَٰ لِمِي نَ ٨١Walisulaymana arreehaAAasifatan tajree bi-amrihi ila al-ardiallatee barakna feeha wakunna bikullishay-in AAalimeen
And [We disposed] for Solomon the tempestuous wind which blew by his command toward the land which We have blessed, and We have knowledge of all things.Ali Quli Qarai
And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.Saheeh International
-
21:82
وَمِنَ
ٱ ل شَّيَٰ طِينِ مَن ي َغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلً ۭاد ُونَ ذَٰ لِكَ ۖ وَكُنّ َا لَهُمْ حَٰ فِظِي نَ ٨٢Wamina ashshayateeni manyaghoosoona lahu wayaAAmaloona AAamalan doona thalikawakunna lahum hafitheen
Among the devils were some who dived for him and performed tasks other than that, and We were watchful over them.Ali Quli Qarai
And of the devils [i.e., jinn] were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.Saheeh International
-
21:83
۞ وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ
ۥٓ أَنّ ِى مَسَّنِىَٱ ل ضُّرُّ وَأَنت َ أَرْحَمُٱ ل رَّٰ حِمِي نَ ٨٣Waayyooba ith nadarabbahu annee massaniya addurru waanta arhamuarrahimeen
And [remember] Job, when he called out to his Lord, ‘Indeed distress has befallen me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.’Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful."Saheeh International
-
21:84
فَ
ٱ سْتَجَبْ نَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ض ُرٍّ ۢۖ و َءَاتَيْنَٰ هُ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم م َّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً ۭم ِّنْ عِند ِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَٰ بِدِي نَ ٨٤Fastajabna lahu fakashafnama bihi min durrin waataynahu ahlahuwamithlahum maAAahum rahmatan min AAindina wathikralilAAabideen
So We answered his prayer and removed his distress, and We gave him [back] his family along with others like them, as a mercy from Us and an admonition for the devout.Ali Quli Qarai
So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allāh].Saheeh International
-
21:85
وَإِسْمَ
ٰ عِيلَ وَإِدْ رِيسَ وَذَاٱ لْكِفْلِ ۖ كُلٌّ ۭم ِّنَٱ ل صَّٰ بِرِي نَ ٨٥Wa-ismaAAeela wa-idreesa wathaalkifli kullun mina assabireen
And [remember] Ishmael, Idris, and Dhul-Kifl—each of them was among the patient.Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient.Saheeh International
-
21:86
وَأَ
دْ خَلْنَٰ هُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنّ َهُم م ِّنَٱ ل صَّٰ لِحِي نَ ٨٦Waadkhalnahum fee rahmatinainnahum mina assaliheen
We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were among the righteous.Ali Quli Qarai
And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous.Saheeh International
-
21:87
وَذَا
ٱ ل نّ ُونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰ ضِبً ۭا ف َظَنّ َ أَن ل َّن ن َّقْ دِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِىٱ ل ظُّلُمَٰ تِ أَن ل َّآ إِلَٰ هَ إِلَّآ أَنت َ سُبْ حَٰ نَكَ إِنّ ِى كُنت ُ مِنَٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ٨٧Watha annooni ith thahabamughadiban fathanna an lan naqdira AAalayhifanada fee aththulumatian la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inneekuntu mina aththalimeen
And [remember] the Man of the Fish, when he left in a rage, thinking that We would not put him to hardship. Then he cried out in the darkness, ‘There is no god except You! You are immaculate! I have indeed been among the wrongdoers!’Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] the man of the fish [i.e., Jonah], when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."Saheeh International
-
21:88
فَ
ٱ سْتَجَبْ نَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَٰ هُ مِنَٱ لْغَمّ ِ ۚ وَكَذَٰ لِكَ نُۨجِىٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٨٨Fastajabna lahu wanajjaynahumina alghammi wakathalika nunjee almu/mineen
So We answered his prayer and delivered him from the agony; and thus do We deliver the faithful.Ali Quli Qarai
So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.Saheeh International
-
21:89
وَزَكَرِيّ
َآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدً ۭا و َأَنت َ خَيْرُٱ لْوَٰ رِثِي نَ ٨٩Wazakariyya ith nadarabbahu rabbi la tatharnee fardan waanta khayru alwaritheen
And [remember] Zechariah, when he cried out to his Lord, ‘My Lord! Do not leave me without an heir, and You are the best of inheritors.’Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while You are the best of inheritors."Saheeh International
-
21:90
فَ
ٱ سْتَجَبْ نَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبْ نَا لَهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُۥ زَوْجَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَٰ رِعُونَ فِىٱ لْخَيْرَٰ تِ وَيَدْ عُونَنَا رَغَبً ۭا و َرَهَبً ۭا ۖ و َكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَٰ شِعِي نَ ٩٠Fastajabna lahu wawahabnalahu yahya waaslahna lahuzawjahu innahum kanoo yusariAAoona fee alkhayratiwayadAAoonana raghaban warahaban wakanoo lanakhashiAAeen
So We answered his prayer, and gave him John, and cured for him his wife [of infertility]. Indeed, they were active in [performing] good works, and they would supplicate Us with eagerness and awe and were humble before Us.Ali Quli Qarai
So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.Saheeh International
-
21:91
وَ
ٱ لَّتِىٓ أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِن ر ُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَٰ هَا وَٱ بْ نَهَآ ءَايَةً ۭل ِّلْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٩١Wallatee ahsanat farjahafanafakhna feeha min roohinawajaAAalnaha wabnaha ayatanlilAAalameen
And [remember] her who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her Our spirit, and made her and her son a sign for all the nations.Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity [i.e., Mary], so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [i.e., Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.Saheeh International
-
21:92
إِ
نّ َ هَٰ ذِهِۦٓ أُمّ َتُكُمْ أُمّ َةً ۭو َٰ حِدَةً ۭو َأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱ عْبُدُو نِ ٩٢Inna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatanwaana rabbukum faoAAbudoon
Indeed this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord. So worship Me.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.Saheeh International
-
21:93
وَتَقَطَّع
ُوٓ ا۟ أَمْرَهُم ب َيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَٰ جِعُو نَ ٩٣WataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahum kullunilayna rajiAAoon
They have fragmented their religion among themselves, but everyone of them will return to Us.Ali Quli Qarai
And [yet] they divided their affair [i.e., that of their religion] among themselves, [but] all to Us will return.Saheeh International
-
21:94
فَم
َن ي َعْمَلْ مِنَٱ ل صَّٰ لِحَٰ تِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ۭف َلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِۦ وَإِنّ َا لَهُۥ كَٰ تِبُو نَ ٩٤Faman yaAAmal mina assalihatiwahuwa mu/minun fala kufrana lisaAAyihi wa-innalahu katiboon
Whoever is faithful and does righteous deeds, his endeavour shall not go unappreciated, and We will indeed record it for him.Ali Quli Qarai
So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We [i.e., Our angels], of it, are recorders.Saheeh International
-
21:95
وَحَرَ
ٰ مٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰ هَآ أَنّ َهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُو نَ ٩٥Waharamun AAalaqaryatin ahlaknaha annahum la yarjiAAoon
It is forbidden for [the people of] any town that We have destroyed [to return to the world]: they shall not return,Ali Quli Qarai
And it is prohibited to [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] returnSaheeh International
-
21:96
حَتَّ
ىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم م ِّن ك ُلِّ حَدَبٍ ۢي َنس ِلُو نَ ٩٦Hatta itha futihatya/jooju wama/jooju wahum min kulli hadabin yansiloon
until when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they race down from every slope,Ali Quli Qarai
Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descendSaheeh International
-
21:97
وَ
ٱ قْ تَرَبَٱ لْوَعْدُٱ لْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِىَ شَٰ خِصَةٌ أَبْ صَٰ رُٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَٰ وَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنّ َا فِى غَفْلَةٍ ۢم ِّنْ هَٰ ذَا بَلْ كُنّ َا ظَٰ لِمِي نَ ٩٧Waqtaraba alwaAAdu alhaqqufa-itha hiya shakhisatun absaru allatheenakafaroo ya waylana qad kunna fee ghaflatinmin hatha bal kunna thalimeen
and the true promise draws near [to its fulfillment], behold, the faithless will look on with a fixed gaze: ‘Woe to us! We have certainly been oblivious of this! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers!’Ali Quli Qarai
And [when] the true promise [i.e., the resurrection] has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers."Saheeh International
-
21:98
إِ
نّ َكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنّ َمَ أَنت ُمْ لَهَا وَٰ رِدُو نَ ٩٨Innakum wama taAAbudoona min dooniAllahi hasabu jahannama antum laha waridoon
Indeed you and what [idols] you worship besides Allah shall be fuel for hell, and you will enter it.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allāh are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it.Saheeh International
-
21:99
لَوْ كَانَ هَ
ٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ ءَالِهَةً ۭم َّا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّ ۭف ِيهَا خَٰ لِدُو نَ ٩٩Law kana haola-i alihatanma waradooha wakullun feeha khalidoon
Had they been gods, they would not have entered it, and they will all remain in it [forever].Ali Quli Qarai
Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein.Saheeh International
-
21:100
لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِي
رٌ ۭو َهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُو نَ ١٠٠Lahum feeha zafeerun wahum feehala yasmaAAoon
Their lot therein will be groaning, and they will not hear anything in it.Ali Quli Qarai
For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear.Saheeh International
-
21:101
إِ
نّ َٱ لَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم م ِّنّ َاٱ لْحُسْنَىٰٓ أُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْ عَدُو نَ ١٠١Inna allatheena sabaqat lahum minnaalhusna ola-ika AAanha mubAAadoon
Indeed those to whom there has gone beforehand [the promise of] the best reward from Us will be kept away from it.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us - they are from it far removed.Saheeh International
-
21:102
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِى مَا
ٱ شْتَهَتْ أَنف ُسُهُمْ خَٰ لِدُو نَ ١٠٢La yasmaAAoona haseesahawahum fee ma ishtahat anfusuhum khalidoon
They will not hear even its faint sound and they will remain [forever] in what their souls desire.Ali Quli Qarai
They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally.Saheeh International
-
21:103
لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ
ٱ لْفَزَعُٱ لْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰ هُمُٱ لْمَلَٰٓ ئِكَةُ هَٰ ذَا يَوْمُكُمُٱ لَّذِى كُنت ُمْ تُوعَدُو نَ ١٠٣La yahzunuhumu alfazaAAual-akbaru watatalaqqahumu almala-ikatu hathayawmukumu allathee kuntum tooAAadoon
The Great Terror will not upset them, and the angels will receive them [saying]: ‘This is your day which you were promised.’Ali Quli Qarai
They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], "This is your Day which you have been promised" -Saheeh International
-
21:104
يَوْمَ نَ
طْ وِىٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءَ كَطَىِّٱ ل سِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ ۢن ُّعِيدُهُۥ ۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآ ۚ إِنّ َا كُنّ َا فَٰ عِلِي نَ ١٠٤Yawma natwee assamaakatayyi assijlli lilkutubi kama bada/naawwala khalqin nuAAeeduhu waAAdan AAalayna innakunna faAAileen
The day We shall roll up the heaven, like rolling of the scrolls [meant] for writings. We will bring it back just as We began the first creation—a promise [binding] on Us. [That] indeed We will do.Ali Quli Qarai
The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.Saheeh International
-
21:105
وَلَقَ
دْ كَتَبْ نَا فِىٱ ل زَّبُورِ مِنۢ ب َعْدِٱ ل ذِّكْرِ أَنّ َٱ لْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَٱ ل صَّٰ لِحُو نَ ١٠٥Walaqad katabna fee azzaboorimin baAAdi aththikri anna al-arda yarithuhaAAibadiya assalihoon
Certainly We wrote in the Psalms, after the Torah: ‘Indeed My righteous servants shall inherit the earth.’Ali Quli Qarai
And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.Saheeh International
-
21:106
إِ
نّ َ فِى هَٰ ذَا لَبَلَٰ غً ۭا ل ِّقَوْمٍ عَٰ بِدِي نَ ١٠٦Inna fee hatha labalaghanliqawmin AAabideen
There is indeed in this a proclamation for a devout people.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, in this [Qur’ān] is notification for a worshipping people.Saheeh International
-
21:107
وَم
َآ أَرْسَلْنَٰ كَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً ۭل ِّلْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٠٧Wama arsalnaka illa rahmatanlilAAalameen
We did not send you but as a mercy to all the nations.Ali Quli Qarai
And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.Saheeh International
-
21:108
قُلْ إِ
نّ َمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنّ َمَآ إِلَٰ هُكُمْ إِلَٰ هٌ ۭو َٰ حِدٌ ۭۖ ف َهَلْ أَنت ُم م ُّسْلِمُو نَ ١٠٨Qul innama yooha ilayya annamailahukum ilahun wahidun fahal antummuslimoon
Say, ‘It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God. So will you submit?’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?"Saheeh International
-
21:109
فَإِ
ن ت َوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنت ُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَا ٓءٍ ۢۖ و َإِنْ أَدْ رِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم ب َعِيدٌ ۭم َّا تُوعَدُو نَ ١٠٩Fa-in tawallaw faqul athantukum AAalasawa-in wa-in adree aqareebun am baAAeedun matooAAadoon
But if they turn away, say, ‘I have proclaimed to you all alike, and I do not know whether what you have been promised is far or near.Ali Quli Qarai
But if they turn away, then say, "I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised.Saheeh International
-
21:110
إِ
نّ َهُۥ يَعْلَمُٱ لْجَهْرَ مِنَٱ لْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُو نَ ١١٠Innahu yaAAlamu aljahra mina alqawliwayaAAlamu ma taktumoon
Indeed He knows whatever is spoken aloud, and He knows whatever you conceal.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal.Saheeh International
-
21:111
وَإِنْ أَ
دْ رِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌ ۭل َّكُمْ وَمَتَٰ عٌ إِلَىٰ حِي نٍۢ ١١١Wa-in adree laAAallahu fitnatun lakum wamataAAunila heen
I do not know—maybe it is a trial for you and an enjoyment for a while.’Ali Quli Qarai
And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time."Saheeh International

21:112
قَ
ٰ لَ رَبِّٱ حْكُم ب ِٱ لْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَاٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نُٱ لْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُو نَ ١١٢Qala rabbi ohkum bilhaqqiwarabbuna arrahmanu almustaAAanuAAala ma tasifoon
He said, ‘My Lord! Judge [between us and the polytheists] with justice.’ ‘Our Lord is the All-beneficent; [He is our] resort against what you allege.’Ali Quli Qarai
[The Prophet (ﷺ)] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe."Saheeh International
