بِسْمِ
-
27:1
ط
سٓ ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰ تُٱ لْقُرْءَانِ وَكِتَابٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍ ١Ta-seen tilka ayatualqur-ani wakitabin mubeen
Ta, Seen. These are the signs of the Quran and a manifest Book,Ali Quli Qarai
Ṭā, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear BookSaheeh International
-
27:2
هُ
دً ۭى و َبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٢Hudan wabushra lilmu/mineen
a guidance and good news for the faithfulAli Quli Qarai
As guidance and good tidings for the believersSaheeh International
-
27:3
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ
ٱ ل صَّلَو ٰ ةَ وَيُؤْتُونَٱ ل زَّكَو ٰ ةَ وَهُم ب ِٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُو نَ ٣Allatheena yuqeemoona assalatawayu/toona azzakata wahum bil-akhiratihum yooqinoon
—those who maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and who are certain of the Hereafter.Ali Quli Qarai
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].Saheeh International

27:4
إِ
نّ َٱ لَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ زَيَّنّ َا لَهُمْ أَعْمَٰ لَهُمْ فَهُمْ يَعْمَهُو نَ ٤Inna allatheena la yu/minoonabil-akhirati zayyanna lahum aAAmalahumfahum yaAAmahoon
As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem decorous to them, and so they are bewildered.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.Saheeh International

27:5
أُ
و۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَٱ لَّذِينَ لَهُمْ سُو ٓءُٱ لْعَذَابِ وَهُمْ فِىٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ هُمُٱ لْأَخْسَرُو نَ ٥Ola-ika allatheena lahum soo-oalAAathabi wahum fee al-akhirati humu al-akhsaroon
They are the ones for whom there is a terrible punishment, and they are the ones who will be the biggest losers in the Hereafter.Ali Quli Qarai
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.Saheeh International

27:6
وَإِ
نّ َكَ لَتُلَقَّىٱ لْقُرْءَانَ مِن ل َّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِي مٍ ٦Wa-innaka latulaqqa alqur-anamin ladun hakeemin AAaleem
Indeed you receive the Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.Saheeh International

27:7
إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَهْلِه
ِۦٓ إِنّ ِىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارً ۭا س ََٔاتِيكُم م ِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ ءَاتِيكُم ب ِشِهَابٍ ۢق َبَسٍ ۢل َّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُو نَ ٧Ith qala moosa li-ahlihiinnee anastu naran saateekum minhabikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasinlaAAallakum tastaloon
When Moses said to his family, ‘Indeed I descry a fire! I will bring you some news from it, or bring you a firebrand so that you may warm yourselves.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."Saheeh International

27:8
فَلَ
مّ َا جَا ٓءَهَا نُودِىَ أَنۢ ب ُورِكَ مَن ف ِىٱ ل نّ َارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْ حَٰ نَٱ للَّهِ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٨Falamma jaaha noodiya anboorika man fee annari waman hawlahawasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAalameen
When he came to it, he was called: ‘Blessed is He who is in the fire and who is [as well] around it, and immaculate is Allah, the Lord of all the worlds!’Ali Quli Qarai
But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.Saheeh International

27:9
يَ
ٰ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنّ َهُۥٓ أَنَاٱ للَّهُٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ لْحَكِي مُ ٩Ya moosa innahu ana AllahualAAazeezu alhakeem
‘O Moses! Indeed I am Allah, the All-mighty, the All-wise.’Ali Quli Qarai
O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."Saheeh International

27:10
وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۚ فَلَ
مّ َا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنّ َهَا جَا ٓنٌّ ۭو َلَّىٰ مُدْ بِرً ۭا و َلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَٰ مُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنّ ِى لَا يَخَافُ لَدَىَّٱ لْمُرْسَلُو نَ ١٠Waalqi AAasaka falamma raahatahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiranwalam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee layakhafu ladayya almursaloon
‘Throw down your staff!’ When he saw it wriggling, as if it were a snake, he turned his back [to flee], without looking back. ‘O Moses! ‘Do not be afraid. Indeed the apostles are not afraid before Me,Ali Quli Qarai
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.Saheeh International

27:11
إِلَّا مَ
ن ظ َلَمَ ثُمّ َ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًۢا ب َعْدَ سُو ٓءٍ ۢف َإِنّ ِى غَفُورٌ ۭر َّحِي مٌۭ ١١Illa man thalama thummabaddala husnan baAAda soo-in fa-innee ghafoorun raheem
nor those who do wrong and then make up for [their] fault with goodness, for indeed I am all-forgiving, all-merciful.’Ali Quli Qarai
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.Saheeh International

27:12
وَأَ
دْ خِلْ يَدَكَ فِى جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَا ٓءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُو ٓءٍ ۢۖ ف ِى تِسْعِ ءَايَٰ تٍ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمً ۭا ف َٰ سِقِي نَ ١٢Waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaamin ghayri soo-in fee tisAAi ayatin ilafirAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeen
‘Insert your hand into your shirt. It will emerge white and bright, without any fault—among nine signs meant for Pharaoh and his people. Indeed they are a transgressing lot.’Ali Quli Qarai
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."Saheeh International

27:13
فَلَ
مّ َا جَا ٓءَتْهُمْ ءَايَٰ تُنَا مُبْ صِرَةً ۭق َالُوا۟ هَٰ ذَا سِحْرٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ١٣Falamma jaat-hum ayatunamubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeen
But when Our signs came to them, as eye-openers, they said, ‘This is plain magic.’Ali Quli Qarai
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."Saheeh International

27:14
وَجَحَدُو
ا۟ بِهَا وَٱ سْتَيْقَنَتْهَآ أَنف ُسُهُمْ ظُلْمً ۭا و َعُلُوًّ ۭا ۚ ف َٱ نظ ُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰ قِبَةُٱ لْمُفْسِدِي نَ ١٤Wajahadoo biha wastayqanat-haanfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan fanthurkayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideen
They impugned them, wrongfully and out of arrogance, though they were convinced in their hearts [of their veracity]. So observe how the fate of the agents of corruption was!Ali Quli Qarai
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.Saheeh International

27:15
وَلَقَ
دْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥ دَ وَسُلَيْمَٰ نَ عِلْمً ۭا ۖ و َقَالَاٱ لْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِٱ لَّذِى فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ ۢم ِّنْ عِبَادِهِٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ١٥Walaqad atayna dawoodawasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdulillahi allathee faddalana AAalakatheerin min AAibadihi almu/mineen
Certainly, We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they said, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, who granted us an advantage over many of His faithful servants.’Ali Quli Qarai
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allāh, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."Saheeh International

27:16
وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَ
ٰ نُ دَاوُۥ دَ ۖ وَقَالَ يَٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ ل نّ َاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنط ِقَٱ ل طَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِن ك ُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنّ َ هَٰ ذَا لَهُوَٱ لْفَضْلُٱ لْمُبِي نُ ١٦Wawaritha sulaymanu dawoodawaqala ya ayyuha annasuAAullimna mantiqa attayri waooteenamin kulli shay-in inna hatha lahuwa alfadlualmubeen
Solomon inherited from David, and he said, ‘O people! We have been taught the speech of the birds, and we have been given out of everything. Indeed this is a manifest advantage.’Ali Quli Qarai
And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."Saheeh International

27:17
وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَ
ٰ نَ جُنُودُهُۥ مِنَٱ لْجِنّ ِ وَٱ لْإِنس ِ وَٱ ل طَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُو نَ ١٧Wahushira lisulaymanajunooduhu mina aljinni wal-insi wattayrifahum yoozaAAoon
[Once] Solomon’s hosts were marched out for him, comprising jinn, humans and birds, and they were held in check.Ali Quli Qarai
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rowsSaheeh International

27:18
حَتَّ
ىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ وَادِٱ ل نّ َمْلِ قَالَتْ نَمْلَةٌ ۭي َٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ ل نّ َمْلُٱ دْ خُلُوا۟ مَسَٰ كِنَكُمْ لَا يَحْطِمَنّ َكُمْ سُلَيْمَٰ نُ وَجُنُودُهُۥ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُو نَ ١٨Hatta itha ataw AAalawadi annamli qalat namlatun ya ayyuhaannamlu odkhuloo masakinakum la yahtimannakumsulaymanu wajunooduhu wahum la yashAAuroon
When they came to the Valley of Ants, an ant said, ‘O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Solomon and his hosts should trample on you while they are unaware.’Ali Quli Qarai
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."Saheeh International

27:19
فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِ
كً ۭا م ِّن ق َوْلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَٱ لَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰ لِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَٰ لِحً ۭا ت َرْضَىٰ هُ وَأَدْ خِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَٱ ل صَّٰ لِحِي نَ ١٩Fatabassama dahikan min qawlihawaqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allateeanAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihantardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadikaassaliheen
Whereat he smiled, amused at its words, and he said, ‘My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing with which You have blessed me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which please You, and admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants.’Ali Quli Qarai
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."Saheeh International

27:20
وَتَفَقَّدَ
ٱ ل طَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِىَ لَآ أَرَىٱ لْهُدْ هُدَ أَمْ كَانَ مِنَٱ لْغَا ٓئِبِي نَ ٢٠Watafaqqada attayra faqalama liya la ara alhudhuda am kana minaalgha-ibeen
[One day] he reviewed the birds, and said, ‘Why do I not see the hoopoe? Or is he absent?’Ali Quli Qarai
And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?Saheeh International

27:21
لَأُعَذِّبَ
نّ َهُۥ عَذَابً ۭا ش َدِيدًا أَوْ لَأَا۟ ذْبَحَنّ َهُۥٓ أَوْ لَيَأْتِيَنّ ِى بِسُلْطَٰ نٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ٢١LaoAAaththibannahu AAathabanshadeedan aw laathbahannahu aw laya/tiyannee bisultaninmubeen
‘I will punish him with a severe punishment, or I will behead him, unless he brings me a credible excuse.’Ali Quli Qarai
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."Saheeh International

27:22
فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِي
دٍ ۢف َقَالَ أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِۦ وَجِئْتُكَ مِن س َبَإٍۭ ب ِنَبَإٍ ۢي َقِي نٍ ٢٢Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattubima lam tuhit bihi waji/tuka min saba-inbinaba-in yaqeen
He did not stay for long [before he turned up] and said, ‘I have alighted on something which you have not alighted on, and I have brought you from Sheba a definite report.Ali Quli Qarai
But he [i.e., the hoopoe] stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.Saheeh International

27:23
إِ
نّ ِى وَجَد تُّٱ مْرَأَةً ۭت َمْلِكُهُمْ وَأُوتِيَتْ مِن ك ُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۢو َلَهَا عَرْشٌ عَظِي مٌۭ ٢٣Innee wajadtu imraatan tamlikuhum waootiyatmin kulli shay-in walaha AAarshun AAatheem
I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given everything, and she has a great throne.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.Saheeh International
-
27:24
وَجَ
د تُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُٱ ل شَّيْطَٰ نُ أَعْمَٰ لَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِٱ ل سَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُو نَ ٢٤Wajadtuha waqawmaha yasjudoonalishshamsi min dooni Allahi wazayyana lahumu ashshaytanuaAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani assabeeli fahumla yahtadoon
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds seem decorous to them—thus he has barred them from the way [of Allah], so they are not guided—Ali Quli Qarai
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allāh, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,Saheeh International
-
27:25
أَلَّا يَسْجُدُو
ا۟ لِلَّهِٱ لَّذِى يُخْرِجُٱ لْخَبْ ءَ فِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُو نَ ٢٥Alla yasjudoo lillahi allatheeyukhriju alkhabaa fee assamawati wal-ardiwayaAAlamu ma tukhfoona wama tuAAlinoon
so that they do not prostrate themselves to Allah, who brings forth the hidden in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose.Ali Quli Qarai
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allāh, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -Saheeh International

27:26
ٱللَّهُ ل
َآ إِلَٰ هَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّٱ لْعَرْشِٱ لْعَظِي مِ ۩ ٢٦Allahu la ilaha illahuwa rabbu alAAarshi alAAatheem
Allah—there is no god except Him—is the Lord of the Great Throne.’Ali Quli Qarai
Allāh - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."Saheeh International

27:27
۞ قَالَ سَنَ
نظ ُرُ أَصَدَقْ تَ أَمْ كُنت َ مِنَٱ لْكَٰ ذِبِي نَ ٢٧Qala sananthuru asadaqtaam kunta mina alkathibeen
He said, ‘We shall see whether you are truthful, or if you are one of the liars.Ali Quli Qarai
[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.Saheeh International
-
27:28
ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَ
ٰ بِى هَٰ ذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمّ َ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱ نظ ُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُو نَ ٢٨Ithhab bikitabee hathafaalqih ilayhim thumma tawalla AAanhum fanthurmatha yarjiAAoon
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then draw away from them and observe what [response] they return.’Ali Quli Qarai
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."Saheeh International

27:29
قَالَتْ يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لْمَلَؤُا۟ إِنّ ِىٓ أُلْقِىَ إِلَىَّ كِتَٰ بٌ ۭك َرِي مٌ ٢٩Qalat ya ayyuha almalaoinnee olqiya ilayya kitabun kareem
She said, ‘O [members of the] elite! Indeed a noble letter has been delivered to me.Ali Quli Qarai
She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.Saheeh International
-
27:30
إِ
نّ َهُۥ مِن س ُلَيْمَٰ نَ وَإِنّ َهُۥ بِسْمِٱ للَّهِٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِٱ ل رَّحِي مِ ٣٠Innahu min sulaymana wa-innahu bismiAllahi arrahmani arraheem
It is from Solomon, and it begins in the name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is [i.e., reads]: 'In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,Saheeh International

27:31
أَلَّا تَعْلُو
ا۟ عَلَىَّ وَأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِي نَ ٣١Alla taAAloo AAalayya wa/tooneemuslimeen
[It states,] ‘‘Do not defy me, and come to me in submission.’’ ’Ali Quli Qarai
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'"Saheeh International

27:32
قَالَتْ يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لْمَلَؤُا۟ أَفْتُونِى فِىٓ أَمْرِى مَا كُنت ُ قَاطِعَةً أَمْرًا حَتَّىٰ تَشْهَدُو نِ ٣٢Qalat ya ayyuha almalaoaftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hattatashhadoon
She said, ‘O [members of the] elite! Give me your opinion concerning my matter. I do not decide any matter until you are present.’Ali Quli Qarai
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."Saheeh International

27:33
قَالُو
ا۟ نَحْنُ أُو۟ لُوا۟ قُوَّةٍ ۢو َأُو۟ لُوا۟ بَأْسٍ ۢش َدِيدٍ ۢو َٱ لْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَٱ نظ ُرِى مَاذَا تَأْمُرِي نَ ٣٣Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatinwaoloo ba/sin shadeedin wal-amru ilayki fanthureematha ta/mureen
They said, ‘We are powerful and possess a great might. But it is up to you to command. So consider what orders you will give.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."Saheeh International

27:34
قَالَتْ إِ
نّ َٱ لْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا۟ قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوٓ ا۟ أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَآ أَذِلَّةً ۭۖ و َكَذَٰ لِكَ يَفْعَلُو نَ ٣٤Qalat inna almulooka ithadakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahlihaathillatan wakathalika yafAAaloon
She said, ‘Indeed when kings enter a town, they devastate it, and make the mightiest of its people the weakest. That is how they act.Ali Quli Qarai
She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.Saheeh International
-
27:35
وَإِ
نّ ِى مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم ب ِهَدِيَّةٍ ۢف َنَاظِرَةٌۢ ب ِمَ يَرْجِعُٱ لْمُرْسَلُو نَ ٣٥Wa-innee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratunbima yarjiAAu almursaloon
I will send them a gift, and see what the envoys bring back.’Ali Quli Qarai
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."Saheeh International

27:36
فَلَ
مّ َا جَا ٓءَ سُلَيْمَٰ نَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍ ۢف َمَآ ءَاتَىٰ نِۦ َٱ للَّهُ خَيْرٌ ۭم ِّمّ َآ ءَاتَىٰ كُم ب َلْ أَنت ُم ب ِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُو نَ ٣٦Falamma jaa sulaymana qalaatumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniyaAllahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antumbihadiyyatikum tafrahoon
So when he came to Solomon, he said, ‘Are you aiding me with wealth? What Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Indeed, you are proud of your gift!Ali Quli Qarai
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.Saheeh International

27:37
ٱرْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَنَأْتِيَ
نّ َهُم ب ِجُنُودٍ ۢل َّا قِبَلَ لَهُم ب ِهَا وَلَنُخْرِجَنّ َهُم م ِّنْهَآ أَذِلَّةً ۭو َهُمْ صَٰ غِرُو نَ ٣٧IrjiAA ilayhim falana/tiyannahum bijunoodinla qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minhaathillatan wahum saghiroon
Go back to them, for we will come at them with hosts which they cannot face, and we will expel them from it, abased and degraded.’Ali Quli Qarai
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."Saheeh International

27:38
قَالَ يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لْمَلَؤُا۟ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِى بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْ لَ أَن ي َأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِي نَ ٣٨Qala ya ayyuha almalaoayyukum ya/teenee biAAarshiha qabla an ya/toonee muslimeen
He said, ‘O [members of the] elite! Which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?’Ali Quli Qarai
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"Saheeh International

27:39
قَالَ عِفْرِي
تٌ ۭم ِّنَٱ لْجِنّ ِ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْ لَ أَن ت َقُومَ مِن م َّقَامِكَ ۖ وَإِنّ ِى عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِىٌّ أَمِي نٌۭ ٣٩Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni anaateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wa-inneAAalayhi laqawiyyun ameen
An afreet from among the jinn said, ‘I will bring it to you before you rise from your place. I have the power to do it and am trustworthy.’Ali Quli Qarai
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."Saheeh International

27:40
قَالَ
ٱ لَّذِى عِند َهُۥ عِلْمٌ ۭم ِّنَٱ لْكِتَٰ بِ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْ لَ أَن ي َرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ ۚ فَلَمّ َا رَءَاهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِند َهُۥ قَالَ هَٰ ذَا مِن ف َضْلِ رَبِّى لِيَبْ لُوَنِىٓ ءَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ ۖ وَمَن ش َكَرَ فَإِنّ َمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ك َفَرَ فَإِنّ َ رَبِّى غَنِىٌّ ۭك َرِي مٌۭ ٤٠Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmunmina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla anyartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahumustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadlirabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna rabbee ghaniyyun kareem
The one who had knowledge of the Book said, ‘I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye.’ So when he saw it set near him, he said, ‘This is by the grace of my Lord, to test me if I will give thanks or be ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful [should know that] my Lord is indeed all-sufficient, all-generous.’Ali Quli Qarai
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."Saheeh International

27:41
قَالَ نَكِّرُو
ا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظ ُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَٱ لَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُو نَ ٤١Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshahananthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheenala yahtadoon
He said, ‘Disguise her throne for her, so that we may see whether she is discerning or if she is one of the undiscerning ones.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."Saheeh International

27:42
فَلَ
مّ َا جَا ٓءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَٰ كَذَا عَرْشُكِ ۖ قَالَتْ كَأَنّ َهُۥ هُوَ ۚ وَأُوتِينَاٱ لْعِلْمَ مِن ق َبْ لِهَا وَكُنّ َا مُسْلِمِي نَ ٤٢Falamma jaat qeela ahakathaAAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilmamin qabliha wakunna muslimeen
So when she came, it was said [to her], ‘Is your throne like this one?’ She said, ‘It seems to be the same, and we were informed before it, and we had submitted.’Ali Quli Qarai
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].Saheeh International
-
27:43
وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَت تَّعْبُدُ مِ
ن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ ۖ إِنّ َهَا كَانَتْ مِن ق َوْمٍ ۢك َٰ فِرِي نَ ٤٣Wasaddaha ma kanattaAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat minqawmin kafireen
She had been barred [from the way of Allah] by what she used to worship besides Allah, for she belonged to a faithless people.Ali Quli Qarai
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."Saheeh International

27:44
قِيلَ لَهَا
ٱ دْ خُلِىٱ ل صَّرْحَ ۖ فَلَمّ َا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّةً ۭو َكَشَفَتْ عَن س َاقَيْهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنّ َهُۥ صَرْحٌ ۭم ُّمَرَّدٌ ۭم ِّن ق َوَارِيرَ ۗ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنّ ِى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَٰ نَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٤٤Qeela laha odkhulee assarhafalamma raat-hu hasibat-hu lujjatan wakashafat AAansaqayha qala innahu sarhunmumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtunafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameen
It was said to her, ‘Enter the palace.’ So when she saw it, she supposed it to be a pool of water, and she bared her shanks. He said, ‘It is a palace paved with crystal.’ She said, ‘My Lord! Indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.’Ali Quli Qarai
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."Saheeh International

27:45
وَلَقَ
دْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰ لِحًا أَنِٱ عْبُدُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُو نَ ٤٥Walaqad arsalna ila thamoodaakhahum salihan ani oAAbudoo Allahafa-itha hum fareeqani yakhtasimoon
Certainly We sent to Thamud Salih, their brother, [with the summons:] ‘Worship Allah!’ But thereat they became two groups contending with each other.Ali Quli Qarai
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.Saheeh International

27:46
قَالَ يَ
ٰ قَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِٱ ل سَّيِّئَةِ قَبْ لَٱ لْحَسَنَةِ ۖ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَٱ للَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُو نَ ٤٦Qala ya qawmi limatastaAAjiloona bissayyi-ati qabla alhasanati lawlatastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoon
He said, ‘O My people! Why do you press for evil sooner than for good? Why do you not plead to Allah for forgiveness so that you may receive His mercy?’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"Saheeh International

27:47
قَالُو
ا۟ ٱ طَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَن م َّعَكَ ۚ قَالَ طَٰٓ ئِرُكُمْ عِند َٱ للَّهِ ۖ بَلْ أَنت ُمْ قَوْمٌ ۭت ُفْتَنُو نَ ٤٧Qaloo ittayyarna bikawabiman maAAaka qala ta-irukum AAinda Allahibal antum qawmun tuftanoon
They said, ‘We take you and those who are with you for a bad omen.’ He said, ‘Your bad omens are from Allah. Indeed, you are a people being tested.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."Saheeh International

27:48
وَكَانَ فِى
ٱ لْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍ ۢي ُفْسِدُونَ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُو نَ ٤٨Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtinyufsidoona fee al-ardi wala yuslihoon
There were nine persons in the city who caused corruption in the land and did not set things right.Ali Quli Qarai
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].Saheeh International

27:49
قَالُو
ا۟ تَقَاسَمُوا۟ بِٱ للَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنّ َهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥ ثُمّ َ لَنَقُولَنّ َ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ مَا شَهِدْ نَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِۦ وَإِنّ َا لَصَٰ دِقُو نَ ٤٩Qaloo taqasamoo billahilanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi mashahidna mahlika ahlihi wa-inna lasadiqoon
They said, ‘Swear by Allah that we will attack him and his family by night. Then we will tell his heir that we were not present at the murder of his family and that we speak the truth.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"Saheeh International

27:50
وَمَكَرُو
ا۟ مَكْرً ۭا و َمَكَرْنَا مَكْرً ۭا و َهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُو نَ ٥٠Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makranwahum la yashAAuroon
They devised a plot, and We [too] devised a plan, but they were not aware.Ali Quli Qarai
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.Saheeh International
-
27:51
فَ
ٱ نظ ُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰ قِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنّ َا دَمّ َرْنَٰ هُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٥١Fanthur kayfa kanaAAaqibatu makrihim anna dammarnahumwaqawmahum ajmaAAeen
So observe how was the outcome of their plotting, as We destroyed them and all their people.Ali Quli Qarai
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.Saheeh International
-
27:52
فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَ
ةًۢ ب ِمَا ظَلَمُوٓ ا۟ ۗ إِنّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭل ِّقَوْمٍ ۢي َعْلَمُو نَ ٥٢Fatilka buyootuhum khawiyatan bimathalamoo inna fee thalika laayatanliqawmin yaAAlamoon
So there lay their houses, fallen in ruin because of their wrongdoing. There is indeed a sign in that for a people who have knowledge.Ali Quli Qarai
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.Saheeh International

27:53
وَأَ
نج َيْنَاٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ يَتَّقُو نَ ٥٣Waanjayna allatheena amanoowakanoo yattaqoon
And We delivered those who had faith and were Godwary.Ali Quli Qarai
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.Saheeh International
-
27:54
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِه
ِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَٱ لْفَٰ حِشَةَ وَأَنت ُمْ تُبْ صِرُو نَ ٥٤Walootan ith qalaliqawmihi ata/toona alfahishata waantum tubsiroon
[We also sent] Lot, when he said to his people, ‘What! Do you commit this indecency while you look on?Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?Saheeh International
-
27:55
أَئِ
نّ َكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَٱ ل رِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً ۭم ِّن د ُونِٱ ل نّ ِسَا ٓءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنت ُمْ قَوْمٌ ۭت َجْ هَلُو نَ ٥٥A-innakum lata/toona arrijalashahwatan min dooni annisa-i bal antum qawmuntajhaloon
Do you approach men with [sexual] desire instead of women?! Indeed, you are a senseless lot!’Ali Quli Qarai
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."Saheeh International
-
27:56
۞ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِه
ِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن ق َالُوٓ ا۟ أَخْرِجُوٓ ا۟ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ۢم ِّن ق َرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنّ َهُمْ أُنَاسٌ ۭي َتَطَهَّرُو نَ ٥٦Fama kana jawabaqawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoo ala lootinmin qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoon
But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Expel Lot’s family from your town! They are indeed a puritanical lot.’Ali Quli Qarai
But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."Saheeh International

27:57
فَأَ
نج َيْنَٰ هُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّاٱ مْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَٰ هَا مِنَٱ لْغَٰ بِرِي نَ ٥٧Faanjaynahu waahlahu illaimraatahu qaddarnaha mina alghabireen
So We delivered him and his family, except his wife. We ordained her to be among those who remained behind.Ali Quli Qarai
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.Saheeh International
-
27:58
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْه
ِم م َّطَرً ۭا ۖ ف َسَا ٓءَ مَطَرُٱ لْمُنذ َرِي نَ ٥٨Waamtarna AAalayhim mataranfasaa mataru almunthareen
Then We poured down upon them a rain [of stones]. Evil was that rain for those who had been warned!Ali Quli Qarai
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.Saheeh International
-
27:59
قُلِ
ٱ لْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَٰ مٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِٱ لَّذِينَٱ صْطَفَىٰٓ ۗ ءَآللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمّ َا يُشْرِكُو نَ ٥٩Quli alhamdu lillahi wasalamunAAala AAibadihi allatheena istafaallahu khayrun amma yushrikoon
Say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, and Peace be to the servants whom He has chosen.’ Is Allah better, or the partners they ascribe [to Him]?Ali Quli Qarai
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"Saheeh International

27:60
أَ
مّ َنْ خَلَقَٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضَ وَأَنز َلَ لَكُم م ِّنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ مَا ٓءً ۭف َأَنۢب َتْنَا بِهِۦ حَدَا ٓئِقَ ذَاتَ بَهْجَةٍ ۢم َّا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن ت ُنۢب ِتُوا۟ شَجَرَهَآ ۗ أَءِلَٰ هٌ ۭم َّعَٱ للَّهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ ۭي َعْدِلُو نَ ٦٠Amman khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda waanzala lakum mina assama-imaan faanbatna bihi hada-iqa thatabahjatin ma kana lakum an tunbitoo shajarahaa-ilahun maAAa Allahi bal hum qawmun yaAAdiloon
Is He who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water from the sky, whereby We grow delightful gardens, whose trees you could never cause to grow...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Indeed, they are a lot who equate [others with Allah].Ali Quli Qarai
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].Saheeh International
-
27:61
أَ
مّ َن ج َعَلَٱ لْأَرْضَ قَرَارً ۭا و َجَعَلَ خِلَٰ لَهَآ أَنْهَٰ رً ۭا و َجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَٰ سِىَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَٱ لْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًا ۗ أَءِلَٰ هٌ ۭم َّعَٱ للَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُو نَ ٦١Amman jaAAala al-arda qararanwajaAAala khilalaha anharan wajaAAala laharawasiya wajaAAala bayna albahrayni hajizana-ilahun maAAa Allahi bal aktharuhum layaAAlamoon
Is He who made the earth an abode [for you], and made rivers [flowing] through it, and set firm mountains for it [’s stability], and set a barrier between the two seas...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Indeed, most of them do not know.Ali Quli Qarai
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.Saheeh International
-
27:62
أَ
مّ َن ي ُجِيبُٱ لْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُٱ ل سُّو ٓءَ وَيَجْ عَلُكُمْ خُلَفَا ٓءَٱ لْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَٰ هٌ ۭم َّعَٱ للَّهِ ۚ قَلِيلً ۭام َّا تَذَكَّرُو نَ ٦٢Amman yujeebu almudtarra ithadaAAahu wayakshifu assoo-a wayajAAalukum khulafaaal-ardi a-ilahun maAAa Allahi qaleelan matathakkaroon
Is He who answers the call of the distressed [person] when he invokes Him and removes his distress, and makes you successors on the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Little is the admonition that you take.Ali Quli Qarai
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Little do you remember.Saheeh International
-
27:63
أَ
مّ َن ي َهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰ تِٱ لْبَرِّ وَٱ لْبَحْرِ وَمَن ي ُرْسِلُٱ ل رِّيَٰ حَ بُشْرًۢا ب َيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ ۗ أَءِلَٰ هٌ ۭم َّعَٱ للَّهِ ۚ تَعَٰ لَىٱ للَّهُ عَمّ َا يُشْرِكُو نَ ٦٣Amman yahdeekum fee thulumatialbarri walbahri waman yursilu arriyahabushran bayna yaday rahmatihi a-ilahun maAAa AllahitaAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoon
Is He who guides you in the darkness of land and sea and who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Exalted is Allah above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him].Ali Quli Qarai
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allāh? High is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.Saheeh International
-
27:64
أَ
مّ َن ي َبْ دَؤُا۟ ٱ لْخَلْقَ ثُمّ َ يُعِيدُهُۥ وَمَن ي َرْزُقُكُم م ِّنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَٰ هٌ ۭم َّعَٱ للَّهِ ۚ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰ نَكُمْ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ صَٰ دِقِي نَ ٦٤Amman yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhuwaman yarzuqukum mina assama-i wal-ardia-ilahun maAAa Allahi qul hatoo burhanakumin kuntum sadiqeen
Is He who originates the creation, then He will bring it back, and who provides for you from the sky and the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Say, ‘Produce your evidence, if you are truthful.’Ali Quli Qarai
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."Saheeh International
-
27:65
قُل لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَ
ن ف ِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِٱ لْغَيْبَ إِلَّاٱ للَّهُ ۚ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْ عَثُو نَ ٦٥Qul la yaAAlamu man fee assamawatiwal-ardi alghayba illa Allahu wamayashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoon
Say, ‘No one in the heavens or the earth knows the Unseen except Allah, and they are not aware when they will be resurrected.’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allāh, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."Saheeh International
-
27:66
بَلِ
ٱ دَّٰ رَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِىٱ لَْٔاخِرَةِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ ۢم ِّنْهَا ۖ بَلْ هُم م ِّنْهَا عَمُو نَ ٦٦Bali iddaraka AAilmuhum fee al-akhiratibal hum fee shakkin minha bal hum minha AAamoon
Do they comprehend the knowledge of the Hereafter? No, they are in doubt about it. Indeed, they are blind to it.Ali Quli Qarai
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.Saheeh International

27:67
وَقَالَ
ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓ ا۟ أَءِذَا كُنّ َا تُرَٰ بً ۭا و َءَابَا ٓؤُنَآ أَئِنّ َا لَمُخْرَجُو نَ ٦٧Waqala allatheena kafaroo a-ithakunna turaban waabaona a-innalamukhrajoon
The faithless say, ‘What! When we and our fathers have become dust shall we be raised [from the dead]?Ali Quli Qarai
And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?Saheeh International
-
27:68
لَقَ
دْ وُعِدْ نَا هَٰ ذَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَا ٓؤُنَا مِن ق َبْ لُ إِنْ هَٰ ذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰ طِيرُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ٦٨Laqad wuAAidna hatha nahnuwaabaona min qablu in hatha illaasateeru al-awwaleen
We and our fathers were promised this before. [But] these are just myths of the ancients.’Ali Quli Qarai
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."Saheeh International

27:69
قُلْ سِيرُو
ا۟ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ فَٱ نظ ُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰ قِبَةُٱ لْمُجْ رِمِي نَ ٦٩Qul seeroo fee al-ardi fanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeen
Say, ‘Travel over the land and observe how was the fate of the guilty.’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Proceed [i.e., travel] through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals."Saheeh International
-
27:70
وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ
ن ف ِى ضَيْقٍ ۢم ِّمّ َا يَمْكُرُو نَ ٧٠Wala tahzan AAalayhim walatakun fee dayqin mimma yamkuroon
Do not grieve for them, and do not be upset by their guile.Ali Quli Qarai
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.Saheeh International

27:71
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَ
ٰ ذَاٱ لْوَعْدُ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ صَٰ دِقِي نَ ٧١Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen
They say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?’Ali Quli Qarai
And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"Saheeh International
-
27:72
قُلْ عَسَ
ىٰٓ أَن ي َكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُم ب َعْضُٱ لَّذِى تَسْتَعْجِلُو نَ ٧٢Qul AAasa an yakoona radifa lakumbaAAdu allathee tastaAAjiloon
Say, ‘Perhaps there is right behind you some of what you seek to hasten.’Ali Quli Qarai
Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you [i.e., very near] - some of that for which you are impatient.Saheeh International
-
27:73
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَىٱ ل نّ َاسِ وَلَٰ كِنّ َ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُو نَ ٧٣Wa-inna rabbaka lathoo fadlinAAala annasi walakinna aktharahum layashkuroon
Indeed your Lord is gracious to mankind, but most of them do not give thanks.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful."Saheeh International

27:74
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنّ ُ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُو نَ ٧٤Wa-inna rabbaka layaAAlamu ma tukinnusudooruhum wama yuAAlinoon
Your Lord knows whatever their breasts conceal, and whatever they disclose.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.Saheeh International
-
27:75
وَمَا مِنْ غ
َا ٓئِبَةٍ ۢف ِىٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ إِلَّا فِى كِتَٰ بٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍ ٧٥Wama min gha-ibatin fee assama-iwal-ardi illa fee kitabin mubeen
There is no invisible thing in the heaven and the earth but it is in a manifest Book.Ali Quli Qarai
And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.Saheeh International

27:76
إِ
نّ َ هَٰ ذَاٱ لْقُرْءَانَ يَقُصُّ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰ ٓءِيلَ أَكْثَرَٱ لَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُو نَ ٧٦Inna hatha alqur-ana yaqussuAAala banee isra-eela akthara allathee humfeehi yakhtalifoon
This Quran recounts for the Children of Israel most of what they differ about,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, this Qur’ān relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.Saheeh International
-
27:77
وَإِ
نّ َهُۥ لَهُدً ۭى و َرَحْمَةٌ ۭل ِّلْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٧٧Wa-innahu lahudan warahmatunlilmu/mineen
and it is indeed a guidance and mercy for the faithful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.Saheeh International
-
27:78
إِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ يَقْ ضِى بَيْنَهُم ب ِحُكْمِهِۦ ۚ وَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ لْعَلِي مُ ٧٨Inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum bihukmihiwahuwa alAAazeezu alAAaleem
Your Lord will decide between them by His judgement, and He is the All-mighty, the All-knowing.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.Saheeh International
-
27:79
فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى
ٱ للَّهِ ۖ إِنّ َكَ عَلَىٱ لْحَقِّٱ لْمُبِي نِ ٧٩Fatawakkal AAala Allahi innakaAAala alhaqqi almubeen
So put your trust in Allah, for you indeed stand on the manifest truth.Ali Quli Qarai
So rely upon Allāh; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.Saheeh International
-
27:80
إِ
نّ َكَ لَا تُسْمِعُٱ لْمَوْتَىٰ وَلَا تُسْمِعُٱ ل صُّمّ َٱ ل دُّعَا ٓءَ إِذَا وَلَّوْا۟ مُدْ بِرِي نَ ٨٠Innaka la tusmiAAu almawta walatusmiAAu assumma adduAAaa ithawallaw mudbireen
You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf listen to your call when they turn their backs,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.Saheeh International

27:81
وَم
َآ أَنت َ بِهَٰ دِىٱ لْعُمْىِ عَن ض َلَٰ لَتِهِمْ ۖ إِن ت ُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَن ي ُؤْمِنُ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَا فَهُم م ُّسْلِمُو نَ ٨١Wama anta bihadee alAAumyiAAan dalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa manyu/minu bi-ayatina fahum muslimoon
nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear you who believe in Our signs and have submitted.Ali Quli Qarai
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [i.e., submitting to Allāh].Saheeh International
-
27:82
۞ وَإِذَا وَقَعَ
ٱ لْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَخْرَجْ نَا لَهُمْ دَا ٓبَّةً ۭم ِّنَٱ لْأَرْضِ تُكَلِّمُهُمْ أَنّ َٱ ل نّ َاسَ كَانُوا۟ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَا لَا يُوقِنُو نَ ٨٢Wa-itha waqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhimakhrajna lahum dabbatan mina al-arditukallimuhum anna annasa kanoo bi-ayatinala yooqinoon
When the word [of judgement] falls upon them, We shall bring out for them an Animal from the earth who shall tell them that the people had no faith in Our signs.Ali Quli Qarai
And when the word [i.e., decree] befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].Saheeh International
-
27:83
وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ مِ
ن ك ُلِّ أُمّ َةٍ ۢف َوْجً ۭا م ِّمّ َن ي ُكَذِّبُ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَا فَهُمْ يُوزَعُو نَ ٨٣Wayawma nahshuru min kulli ommatinfawjan mimman yukaththibu bi-ayatinafahum yoozaAAoon
On that day We shall resurrect from every nation a group of those who denied Our signs, and they will be held in check.Ali Quli Qarai
And [warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rowsSaheeh International
-
27:84
حَتَّ
ىٰٓ إِذَا جَا ٓءُو قَالَ أَكَذَّبْ تُم ب َِٔايَٰ تِى وَلَمْ تُحِيطُوا۟ بِهَا عِلْمًا أَمّ َاذَا كُنت ُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ ٨٤Hatta itha jaooqala akaththabtum bi-ayatee walam tuheetoobiha AAilman ammatha kuntum taAAmaloon
When they come, He will say, ‘Did you deny My signs without comprehending them in knowledge? What was it that you used to do?’Ali Quli Qarai
Until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?"Saheeh International
-
27:85
وَوَقَعَ
ٱ لْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِم ب ِمَا ظَلَمُوا۟ فَهُمْ لَا يَنط ِقُو نَ ٨٥WawaqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhim bima thalamoofahum la yantiqoon
And the word [of judgement] shall fall upon them for their wrongdoing, and they will not speak.Ali Quli Qarai
And the decree will befall them for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.Saheeh International
-
27:86
أَلَمْ يَرَوْ
ا۟ أَنّ َا جَعَلْنَاٱ لَّيْلَ لِيَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱ ل نّ َهَارَ مُبْ صِرًا ۚ إِنّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَٰ تٍ ۢل ِّقَوْمٍ ۢي ُؤْمِنُو نَ ٨٦Alam yaraw anna jaAAalnaallayla liyaskunoo feehi wannahara mubsiraninna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yu/minoon
Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest in it, and the day to provide visibility. There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day giving sight? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.Saheeh International
-
27:87
وَيَوْمَ يُ
نف َخُ فِىٱ ل صُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَن ف ِىٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَمَن ف ِىٱ لْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَن ش َا ٓءَٱ للَّهُ ۚ وَكُلٌّ أَتَوْهُ دَٰ خِرِي نَ ٨٧Wayawma yunfakhu fee assoorifafaziAAa man fee assamawati waman feeal-ardi illa man shaa Allahu wakullunatawhu dakhireen
The day when the trumpet is blown, whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified, except such as Allah wishes, and all will come to Him in utter humility.Ali Quli Qarai
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allāh wills. And all will come to Him humbled.Saheeh International

27:88
وَتَرَى
ٱ لْجِبَالَ تَحْسَبُهَا جَامِدَةً ۭو َهِىَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّٱ ل سَّحَابِ ۚ صُنْعَٱ للَّهِٱ لَّذِىٓ أَتْقَنَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ خَبِيرٌۢ ب ِمَا تَفْعَلُو نَ ٨٨Watara aljibala tahsabuhajamidatan wahiya tamurru marra assahabi sunAAaAllahi allathee atqana kulla shay-in innahukhabeerun bima tafAAaloon
You see the mountains, which you suppose, to be stationary, while they drift like passing clouds—the handiwork of Allah who has made everything faultless. He is indeed well aware of what you do.Ali Quli Qarai
And you see the mountains, thinking them motionless, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allāh, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Aware of that which you do.Saheeh International

27:89
مَ
ن ج َا ٓءَ بِٱ لْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيْرٌ ۭم ِّنْهَا وَهُم م ِّن ف َزَعٍ ۢي َوْمَئِذٍ ءَامِنُو نَ ٨٩Man jaa bilhasanatifalahu khayrun minha wahum min fazaAAin yawma-ithinaminoon
Whoever brings virtue shall receive [a reward] better than it; and on that day they will be secure from terror.Ali Quli Qarai
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.Saheeh International

27:90
وَمَ
ن ج َا ٓءَ بِٱ ل سَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِىٱ ل نّ َارِ هَلْ تُجْ زَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنت ُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ ٩٠Waman jaa bissayyi-atifakubbat wujoohuhum fee annari hal tujzawna illama kuntum taAAmaloon
But whoever brings vice—they shall be cast on their faces into the Fire [and told:] ‘Shall you not be requited for what you used to do?’Ali Quli Qarai
And whoever comes with an evil deed - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"Saheeh International
-
27:91
إِ
نّ َمَآ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هَٰ ذِهِٱ لْبَلْدَةِٱ لَّذِى حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهُۥ كُلُّ شَىْءٍ ۢۖ و َأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَٱ لْمُسْلِمِي نَ ٩١Innama omirtu an aAAbuda rabba hathihialbaldati allathee harramaha walahu kullushay-in waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeen
[Say], ‘I have been commanded to worship the Lord of this city who has made it inviolable and to whom all things belong, and I have been commanded to be among those who submit [to Allah],Ali Quli Qarai
[Say, O Muḥammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]Saheeh International
-
27:92
وَأَنْ أَتْلُوَ
ا۟ ٱ لْقُرْءَانَ ۖ فَمَنِٱ هْتَدَىٰ فَإِنّ َمَا يَهْتَدِى لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ض َلَّ فَقُلْ إِنّ َمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَٱ لْمُنذ ِرِي نَ ٩٢Waan atluwa alqur-ana famani ihtadafa-innama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla faqulinnama ana mina almunthireen
and to recite the Quran.’ Whoever is guided is guided only for his own good, and as for him who goes astray, say, ‘I am just one of the warners.’Ali Quli Qarai
And to recite the Qur’ān." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."Saheeh International

27:93
وَقُلِ
ٱ لْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰ تِهِۦ فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰ فِلٍ عَمّ َا تَعْمَلُو نَ ٩٣Waquli alhamdu lillahisayureekum ayatihi fataAArifoonaha wamarabbuka bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloon
And say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah. Soon He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them.’ Your Lord is not oblivious of what you do.Ali Quli Qarai
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."Saheeh International
