بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
-
36:1
يسٓ ١
Ya-seen
QaraiYa Seen!
Saheeh InternationalYā, Seen.
-
36:2
وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ ٢
Walqur-ani alhakeem
QaraiBy the Wise Quran,
Saheeh InternationalBy the wise Qur’ān,
-
36:3
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ٣
Innaka lamina almursaleen
Qaraiyou are indeed one of the apostles,
Saheeh InternationalIndeed you, [O Muḥammad], are from among the messengers,
-
36:4
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ٤
AAala siratin mustaqeem
Qaraion a straight path.
Saheeh InternationalOn a straight path.
-
36:5
تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٥
Tanzeela alAAazeezi arraheem
Qarai[It is a scripture] sent down gradually from the All-mighty, the All-merciful
Saheeh International[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
-
36:6
لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ ٦
Litunthira qawman ma onthiraabaohum fahum ghafiloon
Qaraithat you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are oblivious.
Saheeh InternationalThat you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware.
-
36:7
لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٧
Laqad haqqa alqawlu AAalaaktharihim fahum la yu/minoon
QaraiThe word has certainly become due against most of them, so they will not have faith.
Saheeh InternationalAlready the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe.
-
36:8
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَٰلًا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ ٨
Inna jaAAalna fee aAAnaqihimaghlalan fahiya ila al-athqani fahummuqmahoon
QaraiIndeed We have put iron collars around their necks, which are up to the chins, so their heads are upturned.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
-
36:9
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ ٩
WajaAAalna min bayni aydeehim saddanwamin khalfihim saddan faaghshaynahum fahum la yubsiroon
QaraiAnd We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, then We have blind-folded them, so they do not see.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.
-
36:10
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ١٠
Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahumam lam tunthirhum la yu/minoon
QaraiIt is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not have faith.
Saheeh InternationalAnd it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.

36:11
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ١١
Innama tunthiru mani ittabaAAaaththikra wakhashiya arrahmanabilghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin waajrin kareem
QaraiYou can only warn someone who follows the Reminder and fears the All-beneficent in secret; so give him the good news of forgiveness and a noble reward.
Saheeh InternationalYou can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward.

36:12
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ ١٢
Inna nahnu nuhyeealmawta wanaktubu ma qaddamoo waatharahumwakulla shay-in ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeen
QaraiIndeed it is We who revive the dead and write what they have sent ahead and their effects [which they left behind], and We have figured everything in a manifest Imam.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.

36:13
وَٱضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ١٣
Wadrib lahum mathalan as-habaalqaryati ith jaaha almursaloon
QaraiCite for them the example of the inhabitants of the town when the apostles came to it.
Saheeh InternationalAnd present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it -
-
36:14
إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ ١٤
Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnaynifakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithinfaqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloon
QaraiWhen We sent to them two [apostles], they impugned both of them. Then We reinforced them with a third, and they said, ‘We have indeed been sent to you.’
Saheeh InternationalWhen We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened [them] with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you."

36:15
قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ ١٥
Qaloo ma antum illabasharun mithluna wama anzala arrahmanumin shay-in in antum illa takthiboon
QaraiThey said, ‘You are no other than human beings like us, and the All-beneficent has not sent down anything, and you are only lying.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies."
-
36:16
قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ ١٦
Qaloo rabbuna yaAAlamu innailaykum lamursaloon
QaraiThey said, ‘Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent to you,
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you,
-
36:17
وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ ١٧
Wama AAalayna illaalbalaghu almubeen
Qaraiand our duty is only to communicate in clear terms.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd we are not responsible except for clear notification."

36:18
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١٨
Qaloo inna tatayyarnabikum la-in lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minnaAAathabun aleem
QaraiThey said, ‘Indeed we take you for a bad omen. If you do not desist we will stone you, and surely a painful punishment will visit you from us.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment."

36:19
قَالُوا۟ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ ١٩
Qaloo ta-irukum maAAakum a-in thukkirtumbal antum qawmun musrifoon
QaraiThey said, ‘Your bad omens attend you. What! If you are admonished.... Indeed, you are an unrestrained lot.’
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people."

36:20
وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ٢٠
Wajaa min aqsa almadeenatirajulun yasAAa qala ya qawmi ittabiAAooalmursaleen
QaraiThere came a man hurrying from the city outskirts. He said, ‘O my people! Follow the apostles!
Saheeh InternationalAnd there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers.
-
36:21
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَن لَّا يَسَْٔلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ٢١
IttabiAAoo man la yas-alukum ajranwahum muhtadoon
QaraiFollow them who do not ask you any reward and they are rightly guided.
Saheeh InternationalFollow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided.
-
36:22
وَمَا لِىَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ٢٢
Wama liya la aAAbudu allatheefataranee wa-ilayhi turjaAAoon
QaraiWhy should I not worship Him who has originated me, and to whom you shall be brought back?
Saheeh InternationalAnd why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned?
-
36:23
ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَئًْا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ ٢٣
Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatanin yuridni arrahmanu bidurrin la tughniAAannee shafaAAatuhum shay-an wala yunqithoon
QaraiShall I take gods besides Him? If the All-beneficent desired to cause me any distress, their intercession will not avail me in any way, nor will they rescue me.
Saheeh InternationalShould I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me?
-
36:24
إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ٢٤
Innee ithan lafee dalalinmubeen
QaraiIndeed, then I would be in manifest error.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, I would then be in manifest error.
-
36:25
إِنِّىٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَٱسْمَعُونِ ٢٥
Innee amantu birabbikum fasmaAAoon
QaraiIndeed I have faith in your Lord, so listen to me.’
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me."
-
36:26
قِيلَ ٱدْخُلِ ٱلْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِى يَعْلَمُونَ ٢٦
Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala yalayta qawmee yaAAlamoon
QaraiHe was told, ‘Enter paradise!’ He said, ‘Alas! Had my people only known
Saheeh InternationalIt was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know
-
36:27
بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ ٢٧
Bima ghafara lee rabbee wajaAAalaneemina almukrameen
Qaraifor what my Lord forgave me and made me one of the honoured ones!’
Saheeh InternationalOf how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored."
-
36:28
۞ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ ٢٨
Wama anzalna AAalaqawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina assama-i wamakunna munzileen
QaraiAfter him We did not send down on his people a host from the sky, nor We would have sent down.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so.
-
36:29
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَٰمِدُونَ ٢٩
In kanat illa sayhatanwahidatan fa-itha hum khamidoon
QaraiIt was but a single Cry, and, behold, they were stilled [like burnt ashes]!
Saheeh InternationalIt was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished.
-
36:30
يَٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى ٱلْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٣٠
Ya hasratan AAalaalAAibadi ma ya/teehim min rasoolin illa kanoobihi yastahzi-oon
QaraiHow regrettable of the servants! There did not come to them any apostle but that they used to deride him.
Saheeh InternationalHow regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him.
-
36:31
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ ٣١
Alam yaraw kam ahlakna qablahum minaalqurooni annahum ilayhim la yarjiAAoon
QaraiHave they not regarded how many generations We have destroyed before them who will not come back to them?
Saheeh InternationalHave they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return?
-
36:32
وَإِن كُلٌّ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ ٣٢
Wa-in kullun lamma jameeAAun ladaynamuhdaroon
QaraiAnd all of them will indeed be presented before Us.
Saheeh InternationalAnd indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us.
-
36:33
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ ٣٣
Waayatun lahumu al-ardualmaytatu ahyaynaha waakhrajna minhahabban faminhu ya/kuloon
QaraiA sign for them is the dead earth, which We revive and bring forth grain out of it, so they eat of it.
Saheeh InternationalAnd a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat.
-
36:34
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْعُيُونِ ٣٤
WajaAAalna feeha jannatinmin nakheelin waaAAnabin wafajjarna feehamina alAAuyoon
QaraiWe make in it orchards of date palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth in it,
Saheeh InternationalAnd We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs -
-
36:35
لِيَأْكُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ٣٥
Liya/kuloo min thamarihi wamaAAamilat-hu aydeehim afala yashkuroon
Qaraiso that they may eat of its fruit and what their hands have cultivated. Will they not then give thanks?
Saheeh InternationalThat they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?
-
36:36
سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٣٦
Subhana allathee khalaqaal-azwaja kullaha mimma tunbitu al-arduwamin anfusihim wamimma la yaAAlamoon
QaraiImmaculate is He who has created all the kinds of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and of what they do not know.
Saheeh InternationalExalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.
-
36:37
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ ٣٧
Waayatun lahumu allaylu naslakhuminhu annahara fa-itha hum muthlimoon
QaraiA sign for them is the night, which We strip of daylight, and, behold, they find themselves in the dark!
Saheeh InternationalAnd a sign for them is the night. We remove from it the [light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.
-
36:38
وَٱلشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ ٣٨
Washshamsu tajree limustaqarrin lahathalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleem
QaraiThe sun runs on to its place of rest: That is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing.
Saheeh InternationalAnd the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
-
36:39
وَٱلْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلْعُرْجُونِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ ٣٩
Walqamara qaddarnahu manazilahatta AAada kalAAurjooni alqadeem
QaraiAs for the moon, We have ordained its phases, until it becomes like an old palm leaf.
Saheeh InternationalAnd the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.
-
36:40
لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ ٤٠
La ashshamsu yanbaghee lahaan tudrika alqamara wala allaylu sabiqu annahariwakullun fee falakin yasbahoon
QaraiNeither it behooves the sun to overtake the moon, nor may the night outrun the day, and each swims in an orbit.
Saheeh InternationalIt is not allowable [i.e., possible] for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.
-
36:41
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ٤١
Waayatun lahum anna hamalnathurriyyatahum fee alfulki almashhoon
QaraiA sign for them is that We carried their progeny in the laden ship,
Saheeh InternationalAnd a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship.
-
36:42
وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ ٤٢
Wakhalaqna lahum min mithlihi mayarkaboon
Qaraiand We have created for them what is similar to it, which they ride.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride.
-
36:43
وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ ٤٣
Wa-in nasha/ nughriqhum fala sareekhalahum wala hum yunqathoon
QaraiAnd if We like We drown them, whereat they have no one to call for help, nor are they rescued
Saheeh InternationalAnd if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved
-
36:44
إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ٤٤
Illa rahmatan minnawamataAAan ila heen
Qaraiexcept by a mercy from Us and for an enjoyment until some time.
Saheeh InternationalExcept as a mercy from Us and provision for a time.
-
36:45
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ٤٥
Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittaqoo mabayna aydeekum wama khalfakum laAAallakum turhamoon
QaraiAnd when they are told, ‘Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, so that you may receive [His] mercy…’
Saheeh InternationalBut when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy..."
-
36:46
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ٤٦
Wama ta/teehim min ayatin min ayatirabbihim illa kanoo AAanha muAArideen
QaraiThere does not come to them any sign from among the signs of their Lord but that they have been disregarding it.
Saheeh InternationalAnd no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away.
-
36:47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ٤٧
Wa-itha qeela lahum anfiqoo mimmarazaqakumu Allahu qala allatheena kafaroolillatheena amanoo anutAAimu man law yashaoAllahu atAAamahu in antum illa fee dalalinmubeen
QaraiWhen they are told, ‘Spend out of what Allah has provided you,’ the faithless say to the faithful, ‘Shall we feed [someone] whom Allah would feed, if He wished? You are only in manifest error.’
Saheeh InternationalAnd when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allāh has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allāh had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error."
-
36:48
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ٤٨
Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen
QaraiAnd they say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, should you be truthful?’
Saheeh InternationalAnd they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
-
36:49
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ ٤٩
Ma yanthuroona illasayhatan wahidatan ta/khuthuhum wahumyakhissimoon
QaraiThey do not await but a single Cry that will seize them as they wrangle.
Saheeh InternationalThey do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing.
-
36:50
فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ٥٠
Fala yastateeAAoona tawsiyatanwala ila ahlihim yarjiAAoon
QaraiThen they will not be able to make any will, nor will they return to their folks.
Saheeh InternationalAnd they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return.
-
36:51
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ ٥١
Wanufikha fee assoori fa-ithahum mina al-ajdathi ila rabbihim yansiloon
QaraiAnd when the Trumpet is blown, behold, there they will be, scrambling towards their Lord from their graves!
Saheeh InternationalAnd the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten.

36:52
قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ٥٢
Qaloo ya waylana manbaAAathana min marqadina hatha mawaAAada arrahmanu wasadaqaalmursaloon
QaraiThey will say, ‘Woe to us! Who raised us from our place of sleep?’ ‘This is what the All-beneficent had promised, and the apostles had spoken the truth!’
Saheeh InternationalThey will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth."

36:53
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ ٥٣
In kanat illa sayhatanwahidatan fa-itha hum jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroon
QaraiIt will be but a single Cry, and, behold, they will all be presented before Us!
Saheeh InternationalIt will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us.
-
36:54
فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَئًْا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٥٤
Falyawma la tuthlamunafsun shay-an wala tujzawna illa ma kuntumtaAAmaloon
Qarai‘Today no soul will be wronged in the least, nor will you be requited except for what you used to do.’
Saheeh InternationalSo today [i.e., the Day of Judgement] no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do.
-
36:55
إِنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى شُغُلٍ فَٰكِهُونَ ٥٥
Inna as-haba aljannati alyawmafee shughulin fakihoon
QaraiIndeed today the inhabitants of paradise rejoice in their engagements
Saheeh InternationalIndeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation -
-
36:56
هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكُِٔونَ ٥٦
Hum waazwajuhum fee thilalinAAala al-ara-iki muttaki-oon
Qarai—they and their mates, reclining on couches in the shades.
Saheeh InternationalThey and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches.
-
36:57
لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ ٥٧
Lahum feeha fakihatun walahumma yaddaAAoon
QaraiThere they have fruits, and they have whatever they want.
Saheeh InternationalFor them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
-
36:58
سَلَٰمٌ قَوْلًا مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ ٥٨
Salamun qawlan min rabbin raheem
Qarai‘Peace!’—a watchword from the all-merciful Lord.
Saheeh International[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord.
-
36:59
وَٱمْتَٰزُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ٥٩
Wamtazoo alyawma ayyuhaalmujrimoon
QaraiAnd ‘Get apart today, you guilty ones!’
Saheeh International[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals.
-
36:60
۞ أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ ٦٠
Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adamaan la taAAbudoo ashshaytana innahu lakumAAaduwwun mubeen
Qarai‘Did I not exhort you, O children of Adam, saying, “Do not worship Satan. He is indeed your manifest enemy.
Saheeh InternationalDid I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy -
-
36:61
وَأَنِ ٱعْبُدُونِى ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ ٦١
Waani oAAbudoonee hatha siratunmustaqeem
QaraiWorship Me. That is a straight path”?
Saheeh InternationalAnd that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path.
-
36:62
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْقِلُونَ ٦٢
Walaqad adalla minkum jibillankatheeran afalam takoonoo taAAqiloon
QaraiCertainly, he has led astray many of your generations. Have you not exercised your reason?
Saheeh InternationalAnd he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?
-
36:63
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ٦٣
Hathihi jahannamu allatee kuntumtooAAadoon
QaraiThis is the hell you had been promised!
Saheeh InternationalThis is the Hellfire which you were promised.
-
36:64
ٱصْلَوْهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ ٦٤
Islawha alyawma bimakuntum takfuroon
QaraiEnter it today, because of what you used to deny.
Saheeh International[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny."
-
36:65
ٱلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ ٦٥
Alyawma nakhtimu AAala afwahihimwatukallimuna aydeehim watashhadu arjuluhum bima kanooyaksiboon
QaraiToday We shall seal their mouths, and their hands shall speak to Us, and their feet shall bear witness concerning what they used to earn.’
Saheeh InternationalThat Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.

36:66
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ ٦٦
Walaw nashao latamasnaAAala aAAyunihim fastabaqoo assiratafaanna yubsiroon
QaraiHad We wished We would have blotted out their eyes: then, were they to advance towards the path, how would have they seen?
Saheeh InternationalAnd if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see?
-
36:67
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ ٦٧
Walaw nashao lamasakhnahumAAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyanwala yarjiAAoon
QaraiAnd had We wished We would have deformed them in their place; then they would neither have been able to move ahead nor to return.
Saheeh InternationalAnd if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.
-
36:68
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ ٦٨
Waman nuAAammirhu nunakkis-hu fee alkhalqiafala yaAAqiloon
QaraiAnd whomever We give a long life, We cause him to regress in creation. Then, will they not exercise their reason?
Saheeh InternationalAnd he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand?
-
36:69
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْءَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ٦٩
Wama AAallamnahu ashshiAArawama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrunwaqur-anun mubeen
QaraiWe did not teach him poetry, nor does it behoove him. This is just a reminder and a manifest Quran,
Saheeh InternationalAnd We did not give him [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur’ān
-
36:70
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٧٠
Liyunthira man kana hayyanwayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireen
Qaraiso that anyone who is alive may be warned, and that the word may come due against the faithless.
Saheeh InternationalTo warn whoever is alive and justify the word [i.e., decree] against the disbelievers.
-
36:71
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَٰمًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ ٧١
Awa lam yaraw anna khalaqnalahum mimma AAamilat aydeena anAAaman fahumlaha malikoon
QaraiHave they not seen that We have created for them—of what Our hands have worked—cattle, so they have become their masters?
Saheeh InternationalDo they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?
-
36:72
وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ ٧٢
Wathallalnaha lahumfaminha rakoobuhum waminha ya/kuloon
QaraiAnd We made them tractable for them; so some of them make their mounts and some of them they eat.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat.
-
36:73
وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ٧٣
Walahum feeha manafiAAu wamasharibuafala yashkuroon
QaraiThere are other benefits for them therein, and drinks. Will they not then give thanks?
Saheeh InternationalAnd for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?
-
36:74
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ٧٤
Wattakhathoo min dooni Allahialihatan laAAallahum yunsaroon
QaraiThey have taken gods besides Allah, [hoping] that they might be helped [by the fake deities].
Saheeh InternationalBut they have taken besides Allāh [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped.
-
36:75
لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُّحْضَرُونَ ٧٥
La yastateeAAoona nasrahumwahum lahum jundun muhdaroon
Qarai[But] they cannot help them, while they [themselves] are an army mobilized for their defence.
Saheeh InternationalThey are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance.
-
36:76
فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ٧٦
Fala yahzunka qawluhum innanaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoon
QaraiSo do not let their remarks grieve you. We indeed know whatever they hide and whatever they disclose.
Saheeh InternationalSo let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare.
-
36:77
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ ٧٧
Awa lam yara al-insanu annakhalaqnahu min nutfatin fa-itha huwa khaseemunmubeen
QaraiDoes not man see that We created him from a drop of [seminal] fluid, and, behold, he is an open contender!?
Saheeh InternationalDoes man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?
-
36:78
وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِىَ خَلْقَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ مَن يُحْىِ ٱلْعِظَٰمَ وَهِىَ رَمِيمٌ ٧٨
Wadaraba lana mathalanwanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithamawahiya rameem
QaraiHe draws comparisons for Us, and forgets his own creation. He says, ‘Who shall revive the bones when they have decayed?’
Saheeh InternationalAnd he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?"
-
36:79
قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ ٧٩
Qul yuhyeeha allatheeanshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleem
QaraiSay, ‘He will revive them who produced them the first time, and He has knowledge of all creation.
Saheeh InternationalSay, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing."
-
36:80
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ ٨٠
Allathee jaAAala lakum mina ashshajarial-akhdari naran fa-itha antum minhutooqidoon
QaraiHe, who made for you fire out of the green tree, and, behold, you light fire from it!
Saheeh International[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite.
-
36:81
أَوَلَيْسَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٨١
Awa laysa allathee khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqamithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleem
QaraiIs not He who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yes indeed! He is the All-creator, the All-knowing.
Saheeh InternationalIs not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator.
-
36:82
إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَئًْا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ٨٢
Innama amruhu itha aradashay-an an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoon
QaraiAll His command, when He wills something, is to say to it ‘Be,’ and it is.
Saheeh InternationalHis command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is.
-
36:83
فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ٨٣
Fasubhana allathee biyadihimalakootu kulli shay-in wa-ilayhi turjaAAoon
QaraiSo immaculate is He in whose hand is the dominion of all things, and to whom you shall be brought back.
Saheeh InternationalSo exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned.
