بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 37:1

   وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفًّا ۝١

   QaraiBy the [angels] ranged in ranks,

2. 37:2

   فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا ۝٢

   Qaraiby the ones who drive [the clouds] vigorously,

3. 37:3

   فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا ۝٣

   Qaraiby the ones who recite the reminder:

4. 37:4

   إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ ۝٤

   Qaraiindeed your God is certainly One,

5. 37:5

   رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ ۝٥

   Qaraithe Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and the Lord of the easts.

6. 37:6

   إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ ۝٦

   QaraiIndeed We have adorned the lowest heaven with the finery of the stars,

7. 37:7

   وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ ۝٧

   Qaraiand to guard from any froward devil.

8. 37:8

   لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ ۝٨

   QaraiThey do not eavesdrop on the Supernal Elite—they are shot at from every side,

9. 37:9

   دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ ۝٩

   Qaraito drive them away, and there is a perpetual punishment for them—

10. 37:10

    إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ ۝١٠

    Qaraiexcept any who snatches a snatch, whereat a piercing flame pursues him.

11. 37:11

    فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ ۝١١

    QaraiAsk them, is their creation more prodigious or [that of other creatures] that We have created? Indeed, We created them from a viscous clay.

12. 37:12

    بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ ۝١٢

    QaraiIndeed you wonder, while they engage in ridicule,

13. 37:13

    وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ ۝١٣

    Qaraiand [even] when admonished do not take admonition,

14. 37:14

    وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ ۝١٤

    Qaraiand when they see a sign they make it an object of ridicule,

15. 37:15

    وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ۝١٥

    Qaraiand say, ‘This is nothing but plain magic!’

16. 37:16

    أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ۝١٦

    Qarai‘What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected?

17. 37:17

    أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ۝١٧

    QaraiAnd our forefathers too?!’

18. 37:18

    قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ ۝١٨

    QaraiSay, ‘Yes! And you will be utterly humble.’

19. 37:19

    فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ۝١٩

    QaraiIt will be only a single shout and, behold, they will look on,

20. 37:20

    وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ۝٢٠

    Qaraiand say, ‘Woe to us! This is the Day of Retribution!’

21. 37:21

    هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢١

    Qarai‘This is the Day of Judgement that you used to deny!’

22. 37:22

    ۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ ۝٢٢

    Qarai‘Muster the wrongdoers and their mates and what they used to worship

23. 37:23

    مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝٢٣

    Qaraibesides Allah, and show them the way to hell!

24. 37:24

    وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسُْٔولُونَ ۝٢٤

    Qarai[But first] stop them! For they must be questioned.’

25. 37:25

    مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ ۝٢٥

    Qarai‘Why is it that you do not support one another [today]?’

26. 37:26

    بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ ۝٢٦

    Qarai‘Indeed, they are [meek and] submissive today!’

27. 37:27

    وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ۝٢٧

    QaraiSome of them will turn to others, questioning each other.

28. 37:28

    قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٢٨

    QaraiThey will say, ‘Indeed you used to accost us peremptorily.’

29. 37:29

    قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ ۝٢٩

    QaraiThey will answer, ‘No, you [yourselves] had no faith.

30. 37:30

    وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَٰغِينَ ۝٣٠

    QaraiWe had no authority over you. No, you [yourselves] were a rebellious lot.

31. 37:31

    فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ ۝٣١

    QaraiSo our Lord’s word became due against us that we shall indeed taste [the punishment].

32. 37:32

    فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ ۝٣٢

    QaraiSo we perverted you, for we were perverse [ourselves].’

33. 37:33

    فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ ۝٣٣

    QaraiSo, that day they will share the punishment.

34. 37:34

    إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۝٣٤

    QaraiIndeed, that is how We deal with the guilty.

35. 37:35

    إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۝٣٥

    QaraiIndeed, it was they who, when they were told, ‘There is no god except Allah,’ used to be disdainful,

36. 37:36

    وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ ۝٣٦

    Qaraiand [they would] say, ‘Shall we abandon our gods for a crazy poet?’

37. 37:37

    بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝٣٧

    QaraiIndeed, he has brought [them] the truth, and confirmed the [earlier] apostles.

38. 37:38

    إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ ۝٣٨

    QaraiIndeed you will taste the painful punishment,

39. 37:39

    وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ۝٣٩

    Qaraiand you will be requited only for what you used to do

40. 37:40

    إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ۝٤٠

    Qarai—[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants.

41. 37:41

    أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ ۝٤١

    QaraiFor such there is a known provision

42. 37:42

    فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ ۝٤٢

    Qarai—fruits—and they will be held in honour,

43. 37:43

    فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ۝٤٣

    Qaraiin the gardens of bliss,

44. 37:44

    عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ ۝٤٤

    Qarai[reclining] on couches, facing one another,

45. 37:45

    يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ ۝٤٥

    Qaraiserved around with a cup, from a clear fountain,

46. 37:46

    بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ ۝٤٦

    Qaraisnow-white, delicious to the drinkers,

47. 37:47

    لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ ۝٤٧

    Qaraiwherein there will be neither headache nor will it cause them stupefaction,

48. 37:48

    وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ ۝٤٨

    Qaraiand with them will be maidens, of restrained glances with big [beautiful] eyes,

49. 37:49

    كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ ۝٤٩

    Qaraias if they were hidden ostrich eggs.

50. 37:50

    فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ۝٥٠

    QaraiSome of them will turn to others, questioning each other.

51. 37:51

    قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ ۝٥١

    QaraiOne of them will say, ‘Indeed I had a companion

52. 37:52

    يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ ۝٥٢

    Qaraiwho used to say, ‘‘Are you really among those who affirm

53. 37:53

    أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ ۝٥٣

    Qaraithat when we have died and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to retribution?’’ ’

54. 37:54

    قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ۝٥٤

    QaraiHe will say, ‘Will you have a look?’

55. 37:55

    فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝٥٥

    QaraiThen he will take a look and sight him in the middle of hell.

56. 37:56

    قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ ۝٥٦

    QaraiHe will say, ‘By Allah, you had almost ruined me!

57. 37:57

    وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ ۝٥٧

    QaraiHad it not been for my Lord’s blessing, I too would have been among those mustered [in hell]!’

58. 37:58

    أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ ۝٥٨

    Qarai‘Is it [true] that we shall not die [anymore],

59. 37:59

    إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ۝٥٩

    Qaraiaside from our earlier death, and that we shall not be punished?

60. 37:60

    إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ۝٦٠

    QaraiThis is indeed the supreme triumph!’

61. 37:61

    لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ ۝٦١

    QaraiLet all workers work for the like of this!

62. 37:62

    أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ۝٦٢

    QaraiIs this a better reception, or the Zaqqum tree?

63. 37:63

    إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ ۝٦٣

    QaraiIndeed We have made it a punishment for the wrongdoers.

64. 37:64

    إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝٦٤

    QaraiIt is a tree that rises from the depths of hell.

65. 37:65

    طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ ۝٦٥

    QaraiIts spathes are as if they were devils’ heads.

66. 37:66

    فَإِنَّهُمْ لََٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالُِٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ ۝٦٦

    QaraiThey will eat from it and gorge with it their bellies.

67. 37:67

    ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ ۝٦٧

    QaraiOn top of that they will take a solution of scalding water.

68. 37:68

    ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝٦٨

    QaraiThen their retreat will be toward hell.

69. 37:69

    إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ ۝٦٩

    QaraiThey had found their fathers astray,

70. 37:70

    فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ ۝٧٠

    Qaraiyet they press onwards in their footsteps.

71. 37:71

    وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝٧١

    QaraiMost of the former peoples went astray before them,

72. 37:72

    وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ ۝٧٢

    Qaraiand We had certainly sent warners among them.

73. 37:73

    فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ۝٧٣

    QaraiSo observe how was the fate of those who were warned

74. 37:74

    إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ۝٧٤

    Qarai—[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants!

75. 37:75

    وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ ۝٧٥

    QaraiCertainly Noah called out to Us, and how well did We respond!

76. 37:76

    وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٧٦

    QaraiWe delivered him and his family from their great distress,

77. 37:77

    وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ ۝٧٧

    Qaraiand made his descendants the survivors,

78. 37:78

    وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلَْٔاخِرِينَ ۝٧٨

    Qaraiand left for him a good name among posterity:

79. 37:79

    سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٧٩

    Qarai‘Peace to Noah, throughout the nations!’

80. 37:80

    إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ۝٨٠

    QaraiThus do We reward the virtuous.

81. 37:81

    إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝٨١

    QaraiHe is indeed one of Our faithful servants.

82. 37:82

    ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَْٔاخَرِينَ ۝٨٢

    QaraiThen We drowned the rest.

83. 37:83

    ۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۝٨٣

    QaraiIndeed Abraham was among his followers,

84. 37:84

    إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ ۝٨٤

    Qaraiwhen he came to his Lord with a sound heart [untainted by sin].

85. 37:85

    إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ ۝٨٥

    QaraiWhen he said to his father and his people, ‘What is it that you are worshiping?

86. 37:86

    أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ ۝٨٦

    QaraiIs it a lie, gods other than Allah, that you desire?

87. 37:87

    فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٨٧

    QaraiThen what is your idea about the Lord of all the worlds?’

88. 37:88

    فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ ۝٨٨

    QaraiThen he made an observation of the stars

89. 37:89

    فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ ۝٨٩

    Qaraiand said, ‘Indeed I am sick!’

90. 37:90

    فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ ۝٩٠

    QaraiSo they went away leaving him behind.

91. 37:91

    فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ ۝٩١

    QaraiThen he stole away to their gods and said, ‘Will you not eat?

92. 37:92

    مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ ۝٩٢

    QaraiWhy do you not speak?’

93. 37:93

    فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٩٣

    QaraiThen he attacked them, striking forcefully.

94. 37:94

    فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ ۝٩٤

    QaraiThey came running towards him.

95. 37:95

    قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ ۝٩٥

    QaraiHe said, ‘Do you worship what you have yourselves carved,

96. 37:96

    وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ۝٩٦

    Qaraiwhen Allah has created you and whatever you make?’

97. 37:97

    قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝٩٧

    QaraiThey said, ‘Build a structure for him and cast him into a huge fire.’

98. 37:98

    فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ ۝٩٨

    QaraiSo they sought to outwit him, but We made them the lowermost.

99. 37:99

    وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ ۝٩٩

    QaraiHe said, ‘Indeed I am going toward my Lord, who will guide me.’

100. 37:100

     رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ۝١٠٠

     Qarai‘My Lord! Give me [an heir], one of the righteous.’

101. 37:101

     فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ ۝١٠١

     QaraiSo We gave him the good news of a forbearing son.

102. 37:102

     فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ۝١٠٢

     QaraiWhen he was old enough to assist in his endeavour, he said, ‘My son! I see in dreams that I am sacrificing you. See what you think.’ He said, ‘Father! Do whatever you have been commanded. If Allah wishes, you will find me to be patient.’

103. 37:103

     فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ ۝١٠٣

     QaraiSo when they had both surrendered [to Allah’s will], and he had laid him down on his forehead,

104. 37:104

     وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۝١٠٤

     QaraiWe called out to him, ‘O Abraham!

105. 37:105

     قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ۝١٠٥

     QaraiYou have indeed fulfilled your vision! Thus indeed do We reward the virtuous!

106. 37:106

     إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ ۝١٠٦

     QaraiThis was indeed a manifest test.’

107. 37:107

     وَفَدَيْنَٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ ۝١٠٧

     QaraiThen We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,

108. 37:108

     وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلَْٔاخِرِينَ ۝١٠٨

     Qaraiand left for him a good name in posterity:

109. 37:109

     سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۝١٠٩

     Qarai‘Peace be to Abraham!’

110. 37:110

     كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ۝١١٠

     QaraiThus do We reward the virtuous.

111. 37:111

     إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝١١١

     QaraiHe is indeed one of Our faithful servants.

112. 37:112

     وَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِإِسْحَٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ۝١١٢

     QaraiAnd We gave him the good news of [the birth of] Isaac, a prophet, one of the righteous.

113. 37:113

     وَبَٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ ۝١١٣

     QaraiAnd We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants [some] are virtuous, and [some] who manifestly wrong themselves.

114. 37:114

     وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ۝١١٤

     QaraiCertainly We favoured Moses and Aaron,

115. 37:115

     وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝١١٥

     Qaraiand delivered them and their people from their great distress,

116. 37:116

     وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ ۝١١٦

     Qaraiand We helped them so that they became the victors.

117. 37:117

     وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ ۝١١٧

     QaraiWe gave them the illuminating scripture

118. 37:118

     وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ ۝١١٨

     Qaraiand guided them to the straight path,

119. 37:119

     وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلَْٔاخِرِينَ ۝١١٩

     Qaraiand left for them a good name in posterity.

120. 37:120

     سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ۝١٢٠

     Qarai‘Peace be to Moses and Aaron!’

121. 37:121

     إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ۝١٢١

     QaraiThus indeed do We reward the virtuous.

122. 37:122

     إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝١٢٢

     QaraiThey are indeed among Our faithful servants.

123. 37:123

     وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝١٢٣

     QaraiIndeed Ilyas was one of the apostles.

124. 37:124

     إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٢٤

     QaraiWhen he said to his people, ‘Will you not be Godwary?

125. 37:125

     أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ ۝١٢٥

     QaraiDo you invoke Baal and abandon the best of creators,

126. 37:126

     ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١٢٦

     QaraiAllah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?,’

127. 37:127

     فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ ۝١٢٧

     Qaraithey impugned him. So they will indeed be mustered [in hell]

128. 37:128

     إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ۝١٢٨

     Qarai—[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants.

129. 37:129

     وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلَْٔاخِرِينَ ۝١٢٩

     QaraiWe left for him a good name in posterity.

130. 37:130

     سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ ۝١٣٠

     Qarai‘Peace be to Ilyas!’

131. 37:131

     إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ۝١٣١

     QaraiThus indeed do We reward the virtuous.

132. 37:132

     إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝١٣٢

     QaraiHe is indeed one of Our faithful servants.

133. 37:133

     وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝١٣٣

     QaraiIndeed Lot was one of the apostles.

134. 37:134

     إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ۝١٣٤

     QaraiWhen We delivered him and all his family,

135. 37:135

     إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ ۝١٣٥

     Qaraiexcepting an old woman among those who remained behind,

136. 37:136

     ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلَْٔاخَرِينَ ۝١٣٦

     QaraiWe destroyed the rest.

137. 37:137

     وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ ۝١٣٧

     QaraiIndeed you pass by them at dawn

138. 37:138

     وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ۝١٣٨

     Qaraiand at night. Do you not exercise your reason?

139. 37:139

     وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝١٣٩

     QaraiIndeed Jonah was one of the apostles.

140. 37:140

     إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ۝١٤٠

     QaraiWhen he absconded toward the laden ship,

141. 37:141

     فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ ۝١٤١

     Qaraihe drew lots with them and was the one to be condemned [as one to be thrown overboard].

142. 37:142

     فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ ۝١٤٢

     QaraiThen the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy.

143. 37:143

     فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ ۝١٤٣

     QaraiHad he not been one of those who celebrate Allah’s glory,

144. 37:144

     لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ۝١٤٤

     Qaraihe would have surely remained in its belly till the day they will be resurrected.

145. 37:145

     ۞ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ ۝١٤٥

     QaraiThen We cast him on a bare shore, and he was sick.

146. 37:146

     وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ ۝١٤٦

     QaraiSo We made a gourd plant grow above him.

147. 37:147

     وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ ۝١٤٧

     QaraiWe sent him to a [community of] hundred thousand or more,

148. 37:148

     فََٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ۝١٤٨

     Qaraiand they believed [in him]. So We provided for them for a while.

149. 37:149

     فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ ۝١٤٩

     QaraiAsk them, are daughters to be for your Lord while sons are to be for them?

150. 37:150

     أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثًا وَهُمْ شَٰهِدُونَ ۝١٥٠

     QaraiDid We create the angels females while they were present?

151. 37:151

     أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ ۝١٥١

     QaraiBe aware that it is out of their mendacity that they say,

152. 37:152

     وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ ۝١٥٢

     Qarai‘Allah has begotten [offsprings],’ and they indeed speak a falsehood.

153. 37:153

     أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ ۝١٥٣

     QaraiHas He preferred daughters to sons?

154. 37:154

     مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ ۝١٥٤

     QaraiWhat is the matter with you? How do you judge?

155. 37:155

     أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝١٥٥

     QaraiWill you not then take admonition?

156. 37:156

     أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ ۝١٥٦

     QaraiDo you have a manifest authority?

157. 37:157

     فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ۝١٥٧

     QaraiThen produce your scripture, should you be truthful.

158. 37:158

     وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ ۝١٥٨

     QaraiAnd they have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn, while the jinn certainly know that they will be presented [before Him].

159. 37:159

     سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ۝١٥٩

     QaraiClear is Allah of whatever they allege [about Him]

160. 37:160

     إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ۝١٦٠

     Qarai—[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants.

161. 37:161

     فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ ۝١٦١

     QaraiIndeed you and what you worship

162. 37:162

     مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ ۝١٦٢

     Qaraicannot mislead [anyone] about Him,

163. 37:163

     إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝١٦٣

     Qaraiexcept someone who is bound for hell.

164. 37:164

     وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ ۝١٦٤

     Qarai‘There is none among us but has a known place.

165. 37:165

     وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ ۝١٦٥

     QaraiIt is we who are the ranged ones.

166. 37:166

     وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ ۝١٦٦

     QaraiIt is we who celebrate Allah’s glory.’

167. 37:167

     وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ ۝١٦٧

     QaraiThey indeed, used to say,

168. 37:168

     لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١٦٨

     Qarai‘Had we possessed a Reminder from our predecessors,

169. 37:169

     لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ۝١٦٩

     Qaraiwe would have surely been Allah’s exclusive servants.’

170. 37:170

     فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ۝١٧٠

     QaraiBut they disbelieved it [when it came to them]. Soon they will know!

171. 37:171

     وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝١٧١

     QaraiCertainly Our decree has gone beforehand in favour of Our servants, the apostles,

172. 37:172

     إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ ۝١٧٢

     Qaraithat they will indeed receive [Allah’s] help,

173. 37:173

     وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ ۝١٧٣

     Qaraiand indeed Our hosts will be the victors.

174. 37:174

     فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ۝١٧٤

     QaraiSo leave them alone for a while,

175. 37:175

     وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ ۝١٧٥

     Qaraiand watch them; soon they will see [the truth of the matter]!

176. 37:176

     أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ۝١٧٦

     QaraiDo they seek to hasten Our punishment?

177. 37:177

     فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ۝١٧٧

     QaraiBut when it descends in their courtyard it will be a dismal dawn for those who had been warned.

178. 37:178

     وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ۝١٧٨

     QaraiSo leave them alone for a while,

179. 37:179

     وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ ۝١٧٩

     Qaraiand watch; soon they will see!

180. 37:180

     سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ۝١٨٠

     QaraiClear is your Lord, the Lord of Might, of whatever they allege [concerning Him].

181. 37:181

     وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝١٨١

     QaraiPeace be to the apostles!

182. 37:182

     وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝١٨٢

     QaraiAll praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
