44:1
ح
مٓ ١Ha-meem
Ha, Meem.Ali Quli Qarai
Ḥā, Meem.Saheeh International
-
44:2
وَ
ٱ لْكِتَٰ بِٱ لْمُبِي نِ ٢Walkitabi almubeen
By the Manifest Book!Ali Quli Qarai
By the clear Book,Saheeh International
-
44:3
إِ
نّ َآ أَنز َلْنَٰ هُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ ۢم ُّبَٰ رَكَةٍ ۚ إِنّ َا كُنّ َا مُنذ ِرِي نَ ٣Inna anzalnahu fee laylatin mubarakatininna kunna munthireen
We sent it down on a blessed night, and We have been warning [mankind].Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].Saheeh International
-
44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَك
ِي مٍ ٤Feeha yufraqu kullu amrin hakeem
Every definitive matter is resolved on it,Ali Quli Qarai
Therein [i.e., on that night] is made distinct every precise matter -Saheeh International
-
44:5
أَمْ
رً ۭا م ِّنْ عِند ِنَآ ۚ إِنّ َا كُنّ َا مُرْسِلِي نَ ٥Amran min AAindina inna kunnamursileen
as an ordinance from Us. We have been sending [apostles]Ali Quli Qarai
[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]Saheeh International
-
44:6
رَحْمَ
ةً ۭم ِّن ر َّبِّكَ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ هُوَٱ ل سَّمِيعُٱ لْعَلِي مُ ٦Rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa assameeAAualAAaleem
as a mercy from your Lord—indeed He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing—Ali Quli Qarai
As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing,Saheeh International
-
44:7
رَبِّ
ٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن ك ُنت ُم م ُّوقِنِي نَ ٧Rabbi assamawati wal-ardiwama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineen
the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatever is between them, should you have conviction.Ali Quli Qarai
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain.Saheeh International

44:8
ل
َآ إِلَٰ هَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَا ٓئِكُمُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ٨La ilaha illa huwa yuhyeewayumeetu rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumu al-awwaleen
There is no god except Him: He gives life and brings death, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.Ali Quli Qarai
There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers.Saheeh International

44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَ
كٍّ ۢي َلْعَبُو نَ ٩Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboon
But they play around in doubt.Ali Quli Qarai
But they are in doubt, amusing themselves.Saheeh International
-
44:10
فَ
ٱ رْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِىٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءُ بِدُخَانٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ١٠Fartaqib yawma ta/tee assamaobidukhanin mubeen
So watch out for the day when the sky brings on a manifest smoke,Ali Quli Qarai
Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smokeSaheeh International
-
44:11
يَغْشَى
ٱ ل نّ َاسَ ۖ هَٰ ذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِي مٌۭ ١١Yaghsha annasa hathaAAathabun aleem
enveloping the people. [They will cry out:] ‘This is a painful punishment.Ali Quli Qarai
Covering the people; this is a painful torment.Saheeh International
-
44:12
رَّبَّنَا
ٱ كْشِفْ عَنّ َاٱ لْعَذَابَ إِنّ َا مُؤْمِنُو نَ ١٢Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathabainna mu/minoon
Our Lord! Remove this punishment from us. Indeed we have believed!’Ali Quli Qarai
[They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers."Saheeh International

44:13
أَ
نّ َىٰ لَهُمُٱ ل ذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَا ٓءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ١٣Anna lahumu aththikrawaqad jaahum rasoolun mubeen
What will the admonition avail them, when a manifest apostle had already come to them,Ali Quli Qarai
How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger.Saheeh International

44:14
ثُ
مّ َ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ ۭم َّجْ نُو نٌ ١٤Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloomuAAallamun majnoon
but they turned away from him, and said, ‘A tutored madman?’Ali Quli Qarai
Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman."Saheeh International
-
44:15
إِ
نّ َا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱ لْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنّ َكُمْ عَا ٓئِدُو نَ ١٥Inna kashifoo alAAathabiqaleelan innakum AAa-idoon
Indeed We will withdraw the punishment a little; but you will revert [to your earlier ways].Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief].Saheeh International

44:16
يَوْمَ نَ
بْ طِشُٱ لْبَطْ شَةَٱ لْكُبْ رَىٰٓ إِنّ َا مُنت َقِمُو نَ ١٦Yawma nabtishu albatshataalkubra inna muntaqimoon
The day We shall strike with the most terrible striking, We will indeed take vengeance [on them].Ali Quli Qarai
The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution.Saheeh International

44:17
۞ وَلَقَ
دْ فَتَنّ َا قَبْ لَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَا ٓءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ ۭك َرِي مٌ ١٧Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawmafirAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareem
Certainly We tried the people of Pharaoh before them, when a noble apostle came to them,Ali Quli Qarai
And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger [i.e., Moses],Saheeh International

44:18
أَنْ أَدّ
ُوٓ ا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَٱ للَّهِ ۖ إِنّ ِى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِي نٌۭ ١٨An addoo ilayya AAibada Allahiinnee lakum rasoolun ameen
[saying,] ‘Give over the servants of Allah to me; indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you.Ali Quli Qarai
[Saying], "Render to me the servants of Allāh. Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger,"Saheeh International
-
44:19
وَأ
َن ل َّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَىٱ للَّهِ ۖ إِنّ ِىٓ ءَاتِيكُم ب ِسُلْطَٰ نٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ١٩Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahiinnee ateekum bisultanin mubeen
Do not defy Allah. Indeed I bring you a manifest authority.Ali Quli Qarai
And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allāh. Indeed, I have come to you with clear evidence.Saheeh International
-
44:20
وَإِ
نّ ِى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن ت َرْجُمُو نِ ٢٠Wa-innee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikuman tarjumoon
I seek the protection of my Lord and your Lord, lest you should stone me.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.Saheeh International
-
44:21
وَإ
ِن ل َّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱ عْتَزِلُو نِ ٢١Wa-in lam tu/minoo lee faAAtaziloon
And if you do not believe me, keep out of my way.’Ali Quli Qarai
But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone."Saheeh International
-
44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ
ۥٓ أَنّ َ هَٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ قَوْمٌ ۭم ُّجْ رِمُو نَ ٢٢FadaAAa rabbahu anna haola-iqawmun mujrimoon
Then he invoked his Lord, [saying,] ‘These are indeed a guilty lot.’Ali Quli Qarai
And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people.Saheeh International
-
44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِ
نّ َكُم م ُّتَّبَعُو نَ ٢٣Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakummuttabaAAoon
[Allah told him,] ‘Set out by night with My servants; for you will be pursued.Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.Saheeh International
-
44:24
وَ
ٱ تْرُكِٱ لْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنّ َهُمْ جُندٌ ۭم ُّغْرَقُو نَ ٢٤Watruki albahra rahwaninnahum jundun mughraqoon
Leave behind the sea unmoving; for they will be a drowned host.’Ali Quli Qarai
And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned."Saheeh International

44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُو
ا۟ مِن ج َنّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍۢ ٢٥Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoon
How many gardens and springs did they leave behind!Ali Quli Qarai
How much they left behind of gardens and springsSaheeh International
-
44:26
وَزُرُو
عٍ ۢو َمَقَامٍ ۢك َرِي مٍۢ ٢٦WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareem
Fields and splendid places,Ali Quli Qarai
And crops and noble sitesSaheeh International
-
44:27
وَنَعْمَ
ةٍ ۢك َانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰ كِهِي نَ ٢٧WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheen
and the affluence wherein they rejoiced!Ali Quli Qarai
And comfort wherein they were amused.Saheeh International
-
44:28
كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰ هَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِي نَ ٢٨Kathalika waawrathnahaqawman akhareen
So it was; and We bequeathed them to another people.Ali Quli Qarai
Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people.Saheeh International
-
44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءُ وَٱ لْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظ َرِي نَ ٢٩Fama bakat AAalayhimu assamaowal-ardu wama kanoo munthareen
So neither the sky wept for them, nor the earth; nor were they granted any respite.Ali Quli Qarai
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.Saheeh International
-
44:30
وَلَقَ
دْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰ ٓءِيلَ مِنَٱ لْعَذَابِٱ لْمُهِي نِ ٣٠Walaqad najjayna banee isra-eelamina alAAathabi almuheen
Certainly We delivered the Children of Israel from the humiliating tormentAli Quli Qarai
And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment -Saheeh International
-
44:31
مِ
ن ف ِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيً ۭا م ِّنَٱ لْمُسْرِفِي نَ ٣١Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyanmina almusrifeen
of Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a tyrant among the transgressors.Ali Quli Qarai
From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors.Saheeh International
-
44:32
وَلَقَدِ
ٱ خْتَرْنَٰ هُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَىٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٣٢Walaqadi ikhtarnahum AAalaAAilmin AAala alAAalameen
Certainly We chose them knowingly above all the nations,Ali Quli Qarai
And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds.Saheeh International
-
44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَ
ٰ هُم م ِّنَٱ لَْٔايَٰ تِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓ ؤٌ ۭا۟ م ُّبِي نٌ ٣٣Waataynahum mina al-ayatima feehi balaon mubeen
and We gave them some signs in which there was a manifest test.Ali Quli Qarai
And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial.Saheeh International
-
44:34
إِ
نّ َ هَٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ لَيَقُولُو نَ ٣٤Inna haola-i layaqooloon
These ones say,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying,Saheeh International
-
44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا
ٱ لْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنش َرِي نَ ٣٥In hiya illa mawtatuna al-oolawama nahnu bimunshareen
‘It will be only our first death, and we shall not be resurrected.Ali Quli Qarai
"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected.Saheeh International
-
44:36
فَأْتُو
ا۟ بَِٔابَا ٓئِنَآ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ صَٰ دِقِي نَ ٣٦Fa/too bi-aba-ina inkuntum sadiqeen
Bring our fathers back [to life], if you are truthful.’Ali Quli Qarai
Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."Saheeh International
-
44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّ
عٍ ۢو َٱ لَّذِينَ مِن ق َبْ لِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَٰ هُمْ ۖ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْ رِمِي نَ ٣٧Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin wallatheenamin qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeen
Are they better, or the people of Tubba‘, and those who were before them? We destroyed them; indeed, they were guilty.Ali Quli Qarai
Are they better or the people of Tubbaʿ and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.Saheeh International
-
44:38
وَمَا خَلَ
قْ نَاٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰ عِبِي نَ ٣٨Wama khalaqna assamawatiwal-arda wama baynahuma laAAibeen
We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them for play.Ali Quli Qarai
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.Saheeh International
-
44:39
مَا خَلَ
قْ نَٰ هُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱ لْحَقِّ وَلَٰ كِنّ َ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُو نَ ٣٩Ma khalaqnahuma illabilhaqqi walakinna aktharahum layaAAlamoon
We did not create them except with consummate wisdom; but most of them do not know.Ali Quli Qarai
We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know.Saheeh International
-
44:40
إِ
نّ َ يَوْمَٱ لْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰ تُهُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٤٠Inna yawma alfasli meeqatuhumajmaAAeen
Indeed the Day of Judgement is the tryst for them all,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -Saheeh International
-
44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى ع
َن م َّوْلً ۭى ش َئًْ ۭا و َلَا هُمْ يُنص َرُو نَ ٤١Yawma la yughnee mawlan AAan mawlanshay-an wala hum yunsaroon
the day when a friend will not avail a friend in any way, nor will they be helped,Ali Quli Qarai
The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped -Saheeh International
-
44:42
إِلَّا م
َن ر َّحِمَٱ للَّهُ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ هُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ٤٢Illa man rahima Allahuinnahu huwa alAAazeezu arraheem
except for him on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed He is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
Except those [believers] on whom Allāh has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International
-
44:43
إِ
نّ َ شَجَرَتَٱ ل زَّقُّو مِ ٤٣Inna shajarata azzaqqoom
Indeed the tree of ZaqqumAli Quli Qarai
Indeed, the tree of zaqqūmSaheeh International
-
44:44
طَعَامُ
ٱ لْأَثِي مِ ٤٤TaAAamu al-atheem
will be the food of the sinful.Ali Quli Qarai
Is food for the sinful.Saheeh International
-
44:45
كَ
ٱ لْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِىٱ لْبُطُو نِ ٤٥Kalmuhli yaghlee fee albutoon
Like molten copper it will boil in their bellies,Ali Quli Qarai
Like murky oil, it boils within belliesSaheeh International
-
44:46
كَغَلْىِ
ٱ لْحَمِي مِ ٤٦Kaghalyi alhameem
seething like boiling water.Ali Quli Qarai
Like the boiling of scalding water.Saheeh International
-
44:47
خُذُوهُ فَ
ٱ عْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَا ٓءِٱ لْجَحِي مِ ٤٧Khuthoohu faAAtiloohu ilasawa-i aljaheem
[The keepers of hell will be told,] ‘Seize him and drag him to the middle of hell,Ali Quli Qarai
[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire,Saheeh International
-
44:48
ثُ
مّ َ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِٱ لْحَمِي مِ ٤٨Thumma subboo fawqa ra/sihi min AAathabialhameem
then pour over his head boiling water as punishment,Ali Quli Qarai
Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."Saheeh International
-
44:49
ذُ
قْ إِنّ َكَ أَنت َٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ لْكَرِي مُ ٤٩Thuq innaka anta alAAazeezu alkareem
[and tell them,] “Taste this! Indeed you are the [self-styled] mighty and noble!Ali Quli Qarai
[It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble!Saheeh International
-
44:50
إِ
نّ َ هَٰ ذَا مَا كُنت ُم ب ِهِۦ تَمْتَرُو نَ ٥٠Inna hatha ma kuntum bihitamtaroon
This is what you used to doubt!’Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, this is what you used to dispute."Saheeh International
-
44:51
إِ
نّ َٱ لْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِي نٍۢ ٥١Inna almuttaqeena fee maqamin ameen
Indeed the Godwary will be in a safe place,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place:Saheeh International
-
44:52
فِى جَ
نّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍۢ ٥٢Fee jannatin waAAuyoon
amid gardens and springs,Ali Quli Qarai
Within gardens and springs,Saheeh International
-
44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِ
ن س ُند ُسٍ ۢو َإِسْتَبْ رَقٍ ۢم ُّتَقَٰ بِلِي نَ ٥٣Yalbasoona min sundusin wa-istabraqin mutaqabileen
dressed in fine silk and brocade, sitting face to face.Ali Quli Qarai
Wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other.Saheeh International
-
44:54
كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ وَزَوَّجْ نَٰ هُم ب ِحُورٍ عِي نٍۢ ٥٤Kathalika wazawwajnahum bihoorinAAeen
So shall it be, and We shall wed them to black-eyed houris.Ali Quli Qarai
Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.Saheeh International
-
44:55
يَ
دْ عُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰ كِهَةٍ ءَامِنِي نَ ٥٥YadAAoona feeha bikulli fakihatinamineen
Secure [from any kind of harm,] there they will call for every kind of fruit [they wish].Ali Quli Qarai
They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure.Saheeh International
-
44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا
ٱ لْمَوْتَ إِلَّاٱ لْمَوْتَةَٱ لْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰ هُمْ عَذَابَٱ لْجَحِي مِ ٥٦La yathooqoona feehaalmawta illa almawtata al-oola wawaqahum AAathabaaljaheem
Other than the first death, they will not taste death therein, and He will save them from the punishment of hellAli Quli Qarai
They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of HellfireSaheeh International
-
44:57
فَضْل
ً ۭام ِّن ر َّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰ لِكَ هُوَٱ لْفَوْزُٱ لْعَظِي مُ ٥٧Fadlan min rabbika thalikahuwa alfawzu alAAatheem
—a grace from your Lord. That is the great success.Ali Quli Qarai
As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment.Saheeh International
-
44:58
فَإِ
نّ َمَا يَسَّرْنَٰ هُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُو نَ ٥٨Fa-innama yassarnahu bilisanikalaAAallahum yatathakkaroon
Indeed We have made it simple in your language, so that they may take admonition.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, We have eased it [i.e., the Qur’ān] in your tongue that they might be reminded.Saheeh International

44:59
فَ
ٱ رْتَقِبْ إِنّ َهُم م ُّرْتَقِبُو نَ ٥٩Fartaqib innahum murtaqiboon
So wait! They [too] are waiting.Ali Quli Qarai
So watch, [O Muḥammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end].Saheeh International
