بِسْمِ
-
51:1
وَ
ٱ ل ذَّٰ رِيَٰ تِ ذَرْوًۭا ١Waththariyati tharwa
By the scattering [winds] that scatter [the clouds];Ali Quli Qarai
By the [winds] scattering [dust], dispersing [it]Saheeh International
-
51:2
فَ
ٱ لْحَٰ مِلَٰ تِ وِقْ رًۭا ٢Falhamilati wiqra
by the [rain] bearing [clouds] laden [with water];Ali Quli Qarai
And the [clouds] carrying a load [of water]Saheeh International
-
51:3
فَ
ٱ لْجَٰ رِيَٰ تِ يُسْرًۭا ٣Faljariyati yusra
by [the ships] which move gently [on the sea];Ali Quli Qarai
And the ships sailing with easeSaheeh International
-
51:4
فَ
ٱ لْمُقَسِّمَٰ تِ أَمْرًا ٤Falmuqassimati amra
by [the angels] who dispense [livelihood] by [His] command:Ali Quli Qarai
And the [angels] apportioning [each] matter,Saheeh International
-
51:5
إِ
نّ َمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِق ٌۭ ٥Innama tooAAadoona lasadiq
indeed what you are promised is true,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, what you are promised is true.Saheeh International
-
51:6
وَإِ
نّ َٱ ل دِّينَ لَوَٰ قِعٌۭ ٦Wa-inna addeena lawaqiAA
and indeed the retribution will surely come to pass!Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, the recompense is to occur.Saheeh International
-
51:7
وَ
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ ذَاتِٱ لْحُبُكِ ٧Wassama-i thati alhubuk
By the sky full of adornment [with stars],Ali Quli Qarai
By the heaven containing pathways,Saheeh International
-
51:8
إِ
نّ َكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ ۢم ُّخْتَلِفٍۢ ٨Innakum lafee qawlin mukhtalif
indeed you are of different opinions!Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, you are in differing speech.Saheeh International
-
51:9
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ ٩
Yu/faku AAanhu man ofik
He who has been turned away [from the truth] is turned away from it.Ali Quli Qarai
Deluded away from it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is he who is deluded.Saheeh International
-
51:10
قُتِلَ
ٱ لْخَرَّٰ صُو نَ ١٠Qutila alkharrasoon
Perish the liars,Ali Quli Qarai
Destroyed are the misinformersSaheeh International
-
51:11
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَ
ةٍ ۢس َاهُو نَ ١١Allatheena hum fee ghamratin sahoon
who are heedless in a stupor!Ali Quli Qarai
Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless.Saheeh International
-
51:12
يَسَْٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ
ٱ ل دِّي نِ ١٢Yas-aloona ayyana yawmu addeen
They ask, ‘When will be the Day of Retribution?’Ali Quli Qarai
They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"Saheeh International
-
51:13
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى
ٱ ل نّ َارِ يُفْتَنُو نَ ١٣Yawma hum AAala annariyuftanoon
It is the day when they will be tormented in the Fire,Ali Quli Qarai
[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the FireSaheeh International
-
51:14
ذُوقُو
ا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰ ذَاٱ لَّذِى كُنت ُم ب ِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُو نَ ١٤Thooqoo fitnatakum hatha allatheekuntum bihi tastaAAjiloon
[and will be told]: ‘Taste your torment. This is what you used to hasten.’Ali Quli Qarai
[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient."Saheeh International
-
51:15
إِ
نّ َٱ لْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍ ١٥Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwaAAuyoon
Indeed the Godwary will be amid gardens and springs,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,Saheeh International
-
51:16
ءَاخِذِينَ م
َآ ءَاتَىٰ هُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْ لَ ذَٰ لِكَ مُحْسِنِي نَ ١٦Akhitheena ma atahumrabbuhum innahum kanoo qabla thalika muhsineen
receiving what their Lord has given them, for they had been virtuous aforetime.Ali Quli Qarai
Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.Saheeh International
-
51:17
كَانُو
ا۟ قَلِيلً ۭام ِّنَٱ لَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُو نَ ١٧Kanoo qaleelan mina allayli mayahjaAAoon
They used to sleep a little during the night,Ali Quli Qarai
They used to sleep but little of the night,Saheeh International
-
51:18
وَبِ
ٱ لْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُو نَ ١٨Wabil-ashari humyastaghfiroon
and at dawns they would plead for forgiveness,Ali Quli Qarai
And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,Saheeh International
-
51:19
وَف
ِىٓ أَمْوَٰ لِهِمْ حَقٌّ ۭل ِّلسَّا ٓئِلِ وَٱ لْمَحْرُو مِ ١٩Wafee amwalihim haqqun lissa-iliwalmahroom
and there was a share in their wealth for the beggar and the deprived.Ali Quli Qarai
And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.Saheeh International
-
51:20
وَفِى
ٱ لْأَرْضِ ءَايَٰ تٌ ۭل ِّلْمُوقِنِي نَ ٢٠Wafee al-ardi ayatunlilmooqineen
In the earth are signs for those who have conviction,Ali Quli Qarai
And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]Saheeh International
-
51:21
وَف
ِىٓ أَنف ُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْ صِرُو نَ ٢١Wafee anfusikum afala tubsiroon
and in your souls [as well]. Will you not then perceive?Ali Quli Qarai
And in yourselves. Then will you not see?Saheeh International
-
51:22
وَفِى
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُو نَ ٢٢Wafee assama-i rizqukum wamatooAAadoon
And in the sky is your provision and what you are promised.Ali Quli Qarai
And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.Saheeh International
-
51:23
فَوَرَبِّ
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ إِنّ َهُۥ لَحَقٌّ ۭم ِّثْلَ مَآ أَنّ َكُمْ تَنط ِقُو نَ ٢٣Fawarabbi assama-i wal-ardiinnahu lahaqqun mithla ma annakum tantiqoon
By the Lord of the sky and the earth, it is indeed the truth, just as [it is a fact that] you speak.Ali Quli Qarai
Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.Saheeh International
-
51:24
هَلْ أَتَى
ٰ كَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْ رَٰ هِيمَٱ لْمُكْرَمِي نَ ٢٤Hal ataka hadeethu dayfiibraheema almukrameen
Did you receive the story of Abraham’s honoured guests?Ali Quli Qarai
Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? -Saheeh International
-
51:25
إِذْ دَخَلُو
ا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰ مً ۭا ۖ ق َالَ سَلَٰ مٌ ۭق َوْمٌ ۭم ُّنك َرُو نَ ٢٥Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloosalaman qala salamun qawmun munkaroon
When they entered into his presence, they said, ‘Peace!’ ‘Peace!’ He answered, ‘[You are] an unfamiliar folk.’Ali Quli Qarai
When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace; [you are] a people unknown."Saheeh International
-
51:26
فَرَاغَ إِلَ
ىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَا ٓءَ بِعِجْ لٍ ۢس َمِي نٍۢ ٢٦Faragha ila ahlihi fajaabiAAijlin sameen
Then he retired to his family and brought a fat [roasted] calf,Ali Quli Qarai
Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf.Saheeh International
-
51:27
فَقَرَّبَهُ
ۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُو نَ ٢٧Faqarrabahu ilayhim qala alata/kuloon
and put it near them. He said, ‘Will you not eat?’Ali Quli Qarai
And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?"Saheeh International
-
51:28
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَ
ةً ۭۖ ق َالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰ مٍ عَلِي مٍۢ ٢٨Faawjasa minhum kheefatan qaloo latakhaf wabashsharoohu bighulamin AAaleem
Then he felt a fear of them. They said, ‘Do not be afraid!’ and they gave him the good news of a wise son.Ali Quli Qarai
And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.Saheeh International
-
51:29
فَأَ
قْ بَلَتِٱ مْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ ۢف َصَكَّتْ وَجْ هَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِي مٌۭ ٢٩Faaqbalati imraatuhu fee sarratin fasakkatwajhaha waqalat AAajoozun AAaqeem
Then his wife came forward crying [with joy]. She beat her face, and said, ‘A barren old woman!’Ali Quli Qarai
And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!"Saheeh International
-
51:30
قَالُو
ا۟ كَذَٰ لِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنّ َهُۥ هُوَٱ لْحَكِيمُٱ لْعَلِي مُ ٣٠Qaloo kathaliki qalarabbuki innahu huwa alhakeemu alAAaleem
They said, ‘So has your Lord said. Indeed He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing."Saheeh International
-
51:31
۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَ
طْ بُكُمْ أَيُّهَاٱ لْمُرْسَلُو نَ ٣١Qala fama khatbukumayyuha almursaloon
He said, ‘O messengers, what is now your errand?’Ali Quli Qarai
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"Saheeh International
-
51:32
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ إِنّ َآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ ۢم ُّجْ رِمِي نَ ٣٢Qaloo inna orsilna ilaqawmin mujrimeen
They said, ‘We have been sent toward a guilty people,Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminalsSaheeh International
-
51:33
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَ
ةً ۭم ِّن ط ِي نٍۢ ٣٣Linursila AAalayhim hijaratanmin teen
that We may rain upon them stones of clay,Ali Quli Qarai
To send down upon them stones of clay,Saheeh International
-
51:34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِ
ند َ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِي نَ ٣٤Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika lilmusrifeen
sent for the transgressors from your Lord.Ali Quli Qarai
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."Saheeh International
-
51:35
فَأَخْرَ
جْ نَا مَن ك َانَ فِيهَا مِنَٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٣٥Faakhrajna man kana feehamina almu/mineen
So We picked out those who were in it of the faithful,Ali Quli Qarai
So We brought out whoever was in them [i.e., the cities] of the believers.Saheeh International
-
51:36
فَمَا وَجَ
دْ نَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ ۢم ِّنَٱ لْمُسْلِمِي نَ ٣٦Fama wajadna feehaghayra baytin mina almuslimeen
but We did not find there other than one house of Muslims,Ali Quli Qarai
And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.Saheeh International
-
51:37
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيه
َآ ءَايَةً ۭل ِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَٱ لْعَذَابَٱ لْأَلِي مَ ٣٧Watarakna feeha ayatanlillatheena yakhafoona alAAathaba al-aleem
and We have left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment.’Ali Quli Qarai
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.Saheeh International
-
51:38
وَفِى مُوسَ
ىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَٰ هُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَٰ نٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ٣٨Wafee moosa ith arsanahuila firAAawna bisultanin mubeen
And in Moses [too there is a sign] when We sent him to Pharaoh with a manifest authority.Ali Quli Qarai
And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.Saheeh International
-
51:39
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِه
ِۦ وَقَالَ سَٰ حِرٌ أَوْ مَجْ نُو نٌۭ ٣٩Fatawalla biruknihi waqala sahirunaw majnoon
But he turned away assured of his might, and said, ‘A magician or a crazy man!’Ali Quli Qarai
But he turned away with his supporters and said, "A magician or a madman."Saheeh International
-
51:40
فَأَخَذْنَ
ٰ هُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰ هُمْ فِىٱ لْيَمّ ِ وَهُوَ مُلِي مٌۭ ٤٠Faakhathnahu wajunoodahufanabathnahum fee alyammi wahuwa muleem
So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea, while he was blameworthy.Ali Quli Qarai
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.Saheeh International
-
51:41
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ
ٱ ل رِّيحَٱ لْعَقِي مَ ٤١Wafee AAadin ith arsalnaAAalayhimu arreeha alAAaqeem
And in ‘Ad when We unleashed upon them a barren wind.Ali Quli Qarai
And in ʿAad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.Saheeh International
-
51:42
مَا تَذَرُ مِ
ن ش َىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱ ل رَّمِي مِ ٤٢Ma tatharu min shay-in atatAAalayhi illa jaAAalat-hu karrameem
It left nothing that it came upon without making it like decayed bones.Ali Quli Qarai
It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.Saheeh International
-
51:43
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُو
ا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِي نٍۢ ٤٣Wafee thamooda ith qeela lahumtamattaAAoo hatta heen
And in Thamud, when they were told, ‘Enjoy for a while.’Ali Quli Qarai
And in Thamūd, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."Saheeh International
-
51:44
فَعَتَوْ
ا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُٱ ل صَّٰ عِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظ ُرُو نَ ٤٤FaAAataw AAan amri rabbihim faakhathat-humuassaAAiqatu wahum yanthuroon
Then they defied the command of their Lord; so the thunderbolt seized them as they looked on.Ali Quli Qarai
But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.Saheeh International
-
51:45
فَمَا
ٱ سْتَطَٰ عُوا۟ مِن ق ِيَامٍ ۢو َمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنت َصِرِي نَ ٤٥Fama istataAAoo min qiyaminwama kanoo muntasireen
So they were neither able to rise up, nor to come to one another’s aid.Ali Quli Qarai
And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.Saheeh International
-
51:46
وَقَوْمَ نُو
حٍ ۢم ِّن ق َبْ لُ ۖ إِنّ َهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمً ۭا ف َٰ سِقِي نَ ٤٦Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanooqawman fasiqeen
And the people of Noah aforetime. Indeed, they were a transgressing lot.Ali Quli Qarai
And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.Saheeh International
-
51:47
وَ
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءَ بَنَيْنَٰ هَا بِأَيْي۟ دٍ ۢو َإِنّ َا لَمُوسِعُو نَ ٤٧Wassamaa banaynahabi-aydin wa-inna lamoosiAAoon
We have built the heaven with might, and indeed it is We who are its expanders.Ali Quli Qarai
And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.Saheeh International
-
51:48
وَ
ٱ لْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَٰ هَا فَنِعْمَٱ لْمَٰ هِدُو نَ ٤٨Wal-arda farashnahafaniAAma almahidoon
And We have spread out the earth, so how excellent spreaders We have been!Ali Quli Qarai
And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer.Saheeh International
-
51:49
وَمِ
ن ك ُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْ نَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُو نَ ٤٩Wamin kulli shay-in khalaqna zawjaynilaAAallakum tathakkaroon
In all things We have created pairs so that you may take admonition.Ali Quli Qarai
And of all things We created two mates [i.e., counterparts]; perhaps you will remember.Saheeh International
-
51:50
فَفِرّ
ُوٓ ا۟ إِلَىٱ للَّهِ ۖ إِنّ ِى لَكُم م ِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ٥٠Fafirroo ila Allahi inneelakum minhu natheerun mubeen
‘So flee toward Allah. Indeed, I am from Him a manifest warner to you.Ali Quli Qarai
So flee to Allāh. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.Saheeh International
-
51:51
وَلَا تَ
جْ عَلُوا۟ مَعَٱ للَّهِ إِلَٰ هًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنّ ِى لَكُم م ِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ٥١Wala tajAAaloo maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara innee lakum minhu natheerun mubeen
Do not set up another god besides Allah. Indeed I am from Him a manifest warner to you.’Ali Quli Qarai
And do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.Saheeh International
-
51:52
كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ مَآ أَتَىٱ لَّذِينَ مِن ق َبْ لِهِم م ِّن ر َّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْ نُو نٌ ٥٢Kathalika ma ata allatheenamin qablihim min rasoolin illa qaloo sahirunaw majnoon
So it was that there did not come any apostle to those who were before them but they said, ‘A magician,’ or ‘A crazy man!’Ali Quli Qarai
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."Saheeh International
-
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوْ
ا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ ۭط َاغُو نَ ٥٣Atawasaw bihi bal hum qawmun taghoon
Did they enjoin this upon one another?! Rather, they were a rebellious lot.Ali Quli Qarai
Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.Saheeh International
-
51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَم
َآ أَنت َ بِمَلُو مٍۢ ٥٤Fatawalla AAanhum fama anta bimaloom
So turn away from them, as you will not be blameworthy.Ali Quli Qarai
So leave them, [O Muḥammad], for you are not to be blamed.Saheeh International
-
51:55
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِ
نّ َٱ ل ذِّكْرَىٰ تَنف َعُٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٥٥Wathakkir fa-inna aththikratanfaAAu almu/mineen
And admonish, for admonition indeed benefits the faithful.Ali Quli Qarai
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.Saheeh International
-
51:56
وَمَا خَلَ
قْ تُٱ لْجِنّ َ وَٱ لْإِنس َ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُو نِ ٥٦Wama khalaqtu aljinna wal-insailla liyaAAbudoon
I did not create the jinn and the humans except that they may worship Me.Ali Quli Qarai
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.Saheeh International
-
51:57
م
َآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم م ِّن ر ِّزْقٍ ۢو َمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن ي ُطْ عِمُو نِ ٥٧Ma oreedu minhum min rizqin wamaoreedu an yutAAimoon
I desire no provision from them, nor do I desire that they should feed Me.Ali Quli Qarai
I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.Saheeh International
-
51:58
إِ
نّ َٱ للَّهَ هُوَٱ ل رَّزَّاقُ ذُوٱ لْقُوَّةِٱ لْمَتِي نُ ٥٨Inna Allaha huwa arrazzaquthoo alquwwati almateen
Indeed it is Allah who is the All-provider, Powerful and All-strong.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, it is Allāh who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.Saheeh International
-
51:59
فَإِ
نّ َ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبً ۭا م ِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰ بِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُو نِ ٥٩Fa-inna lillatheena thalamoothanooban mithla thanoobi as-habihimfala yastaAAjiloon
Indeed the lot of those who do wrong [now] will be like the lot of their [earlier] counterparts. So let them not ask Me to hasten on [that fate].Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their companions [i.e., predecessors], so let them not impatiently urge Me.Saheeh International
-
51:60
فَوَيْ
لٌ ۭل ِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن ي َوْمِهِمُٱ لَّذِى يُوعَدُو نَ ٦٠Fawaylun lillatheena kafaroo minyawmihimu allathee yooAAadoon
Woe to the faithless for the day they are promised!Ali Quli Qarai
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.Saheeh International
