بِسْمِ

63:1
إِذَا ج
َا ٓءَكَٱ لْمُنَٰ فِقُونَ قَالُوا۟ نَشْهَدُ إِنّ َكَ لَرَسُولُٱ للَّهِ ۗ وَٱ للَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنّ َكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱ للَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنّ َٱ لْمُنَٰ فِقِينَ لَكَٰ ذِبُو نَ ١Itha jaaka almunafiqoonaqaloo nashhadu innaka larasoolu Allahi wallahuyaAAlamu innaka larasooluhu wallahu yashhadu innaalmunafiqeena lakathiboon
When the hypocrites come to you they say, ‘We bear witness that you are indeed the apostle of Allah.’ Allah knows that you are indeed His Apostle, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are indeed liars.Ali Quli Qarai
When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muḥammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allāh." And Allāh knows that you are His Messenger, and Allāh testifies that the hypocrites are liars.Saheeh International

63:2
ٱتَّخَذ
ُوٓ ا۟ أَيْمَٰ نَهُمْ جُنّ َةً ۭف َصَدُّوا۟ عَن س َبِيلِٱ للَّهِ ۚ إِنّ َهُمْ سَا ٓءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُو نَ ٢Ittakhathoo aymanahum junnatanfasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi innahum saa makanoo yaAAmaloon
They make a shield of their oaths, and bar from the way of Allah. Evil indeed is what they used to do.Ali Quli Qarai
They have taken their oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allāh. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.Saheeh International

63:3
ذَ
ٰ لِكَ بِأَنّ َهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ ثُمّ َ كَفَرُوا۟ فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُو نَ ٣Thalika bi-annahum amanoothumma kafaroo fatubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum layafqahoon
That is because they believed and then disbelieved, so their hearts were sealed. Hence, they do not understand.Ali Quli Qarai
That is because they believed, and then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed over, and they do not understand.Saheeh International

63:4
۞ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَ
جْ سَامُهُمْ ۖ وَإِن ي َقُولُوا۟ تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ ۖ كَأَنّ َهُمْ خُشُبٌ ۭم ُّسَنّ َدَةٌ ۭۖ ي َحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ هُمُٱ لْعَدُوُّ فَٱ حْذَرْهُمْ ۚ قَٰ تَلَهُمُٱ للَّهُ ۖ أَنّ َىٰ يُؤْفَكُو نَ ٤Wa-itha raaytahum tuAAjibuka ajsamuhumwa-in yaqooloo tasmaAA liqawlihim kaannahum khushubunmusannadatun yahsaboona kulla sayhatinAAalayhim humu alAAaduwwu fahtharhum qatalahumuAllahu anna yu/fakoon
When you see them, their bodies impress you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. Yet they are like dry logs set reclining [against a wall]. They suppose every cry is directed against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah assail them, where do they stray?!Ali Quli Qarai
And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up - they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allāh destroy them; how are they deluded?Saheeh International

63:5
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْ
ا۟ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُٱ للَّهِ لَوَّوْا۟ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم م ُّسْتَكْبِرُو نَ ٥Wa-itha qeela lahum taAAalawyastaghfir lakum rasoolu Allahi lawwaw ruoosahumwaraaytahum yasuddoona wahum mustakbiroon
When they are told, ‘Come, that Allah’s Apostle may plead for forgiveness for you,’ they twist their heads, and you see them turn away disdainfully.Ali Quli Qarai
And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allāh will ask forgiveness for you," they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant.Saheeh International

63:6
سَو
َا ٓءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لَن ي َغْفِرَٱ للَّهُ لَهُمْ ۚ إِنّ َٱ للَّهَ لَا يَهْدِىٱ لْقَوْمَٱ لْفَٰ سِقِي نَ ٦Sawaon AAalayhim astaghfarta lahum amlam tastaghfir lahum lan yaghfira Allahu lahum inna Allahala yahdee alqawma alfasiqeen
It is the same for them whether you plead for forgiveness for them, or do not plead for forgiveness for them: Allah will never forgive them. Indeed Allah does not guide the transgressing lot.Ali Quli Qarai
It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allāh forgive them. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.Saheeh International

63:7
هُمُ
ٱ لَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنف ِقُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِند َ رَسُولِٱ للَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنف َضُّوا۟ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ خَزَا ٓئِنُٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ وَلَٰ كِنّ َٱ لْمُنَٰ فِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُو نَ ٧Humu allatheena yaqooloona latunfiqoo AAala man AAinda rasooli Allahi hattayanfaddoo walillahi khaza-inu assamawatiwal-ardi walakinna almunafiqeena layafqahoon
They are the ones who say, ‘Do not spend on those who are with the Apostle of Allah until they scatter off [from around him].’ Yet to Allah belong the treasuries of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.Ali Quli Qarai
They are the ones who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allāh until they disband." And to Allāh belong the depositories of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.Saheeh International

63:8
يَقُولُونَ لَئ
ِن ر َّجَعْنَآ إِلَىٱ لْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنّ َٱ لْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَاٱ لْأَذَلَّ ۚ وَلِلَّهِٱ لْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَٰ كِنّ َٱ لْمُنَٰ فِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُو نَ ٨Yaqooloona la-in rajaAAna ilaalmadeenati layukhrijanna al-aAAazzu minha al-athallawalillahi alAAizzatu walirasoolihi walilmu/mineena walakinnaalmunafiqeena la yaAAlamoon
They say, ‘When we return to the city, the mighty will surely expel the weak from it.’ Yet all might belongs to Allah and His Apostle and the faithful, but the hypocrites do not know.Ali Quli Qarai
They say, "If we return to al-Madīnah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allāh belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.Saheeh International

63:9
يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰ لُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰ دُكُمْ عَن ذ ِكْرِٱ للَّهِ ۚ وَمَن ي َفْعَلْ ذَٰ لِكَ فَأُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكَ هُمُٱ لْخَٰ سِرُو نَ ٩Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukumAAan thikri Allahi waman yafAAal thalikafaola-ika humu alkhasiroon
O you who have faith! Do not let your possessions and children distract you from the remembrance of Allah, and whoever does that—it is they who are the losers.Ali Quli Qarai
O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allāh. And whoever does that - then those are the losers.Saheeh International

63:10
وَأَ
نف ِقُوا۟ مِن م َّا رَزَقْ نَٰ كُم م ِّن ق َبْ لِ أَن ي َأْتِىَ أَحَدَكُمُٱ لْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ ۢق َرِيبٍ ۢف َأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن م ِّنَٱ ل صَّٰ لِحِي نَ ١٠Waanfiqoo min ma razaqnakummin qabli an ya/tiya ahadakumu almawtu fayaqoola rabbilawla akhkhartanee ila ajalin qareebin faassaddaqawaakun mina assaliheen
Spend out of what We have provided you before death comes to any of you, whereat he might say, ‘My Lord, why did You not respite me for a short time so that I could give charity and become one of the righteous!’Ali Quli Qarai
And spend [in the way of Allāh] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be of the righteous."Saheeh International

63:11
وَل
َن ي ُؤَخِّرَٱ للَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَا ٓءَ أَجَلُهَا ۚ وَٱ للَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ ب ِمَا تَعْمَلُو نَ ١١Walan yu-akhkhira Allahu nafsan ithajaa ajaluha wallahu khabeerun bimataAAmaloon
But Allah will never respite anyone when his time has come, and Allah is well aware of what you do.Ali Quli Qarai
But never will Allāh delay a soul when its time has come. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.Saheeh International
