بِسْمِ
-
96:1
ٱ
قْ رَأْ بِٱ سْمِ رَبِّكَٱ لَّذِى خَلَق َ ١Iqra/ bi-ismi rabbika allathee khalaq
Read in the Name of your Lord who created;Ali Quli Qarai
Recite in the name of your Lord who created –Saheeh International
-
96:2
خَلَقَ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نَ مِنْ عَلَق ٍ ٢Khalaqa al-insana min AAalaq
created man from a clinging mass.Ali Quli Qarai
Created man from a clinging substance.Saheeh International
-
96:3
ٱ
قْ رَأْ وَرَبُّكَٱ لْأَكْرَمُ ٣Iqra/ warabbuka al-akram
Read, and your Lord is the most generous,Ali Quli Qarai
Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -Saheeh International
-
96:4
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِ
ٱ لْقَلَمِ ٤Allathee AAallama bilqalam
who taught by the pen,Ali Quli Qarai
Who taught by the pen –Saheeh International
-
96:5
عَلَّمَ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ ٥AAallama al-insana ma lamyaAAlam
taught man what he did not know.Ali Quli Qarai
Taught man that which he knew not.Saheeh International
-
96:6
كَلّ
َآ إِنّ َٱ لْإِنس َٰ نَ لَيَطْ غَىٰٓ ٦Kalla inna al-insana layatgha
Indeed man becomes rebelliousAli Quli Qarai
No! [But] indeed, man transgressesSaheeh International
-
96:7
أ
َن ر َّءَاهُٱ سْتَغْنَىٰٓ ٧An raahu istaghna
when he considers himself without need.Ali Quli Qarai
Because he sees himself self-sufficient.Saheeh International
-
96:8
إِ
نّ َ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَٱ ل رُّجْ عَىٰٓ ٨Inna ila rabbika arrujAAa
Indeed to your Lord is the return.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, to your Lord is the return.Saheeh International
-
96:9
أَرَءَيْتَ
ٱ لَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ ٩Araayta allathee yanha
Tell me, he who forbidsAli Quli Qarai
Have you seen the one who forbidsSaheeh International
-
96:10
عَ
بْ دًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ ١٠AAabdan itha salla
a servant when he prays,Ali Quli Qarai
A servant when he prays?Saheeh International
-
96:11
أَرَءَيْتَ إِ
ن ك َانَ عَلَىٱ لْهُدَىٰٓ ١١Araayta in kana AAala alhuda
tell me, should he be on [true] guidance,Ali Quli Qarai
Have you seen if he is upon guidanceSaheeh International
-
96:12
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِ
ٱ ل تَّقْ وَىٰٓ ١٢Aw amara bittaqwa
or bid [others] to Godwariness,Ali Quli Qarai
Or enjoins righteousness?Saheeh International
-
96:13
أَرَءَيْتَ إِ
ن ك َذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ١٣Araayta in kaththaba watawalla
tell me, should he call him a liar and turn awayAli Quli Qarai
Have you seen if he denies and turns away -Saheeh International
-
96:14
أَلَمْ يَعْل
َم ب ِأَنّ َٱ للَّهَ يَرَىٰ ١٤Alam yaAAlam bi-anna Allaha yara
—does he not know that Allah sees [him]?Ali Quli Qarai
Does he not know that Allāh sees?Saheeh International
-
96:15
كَلَّا لَئ
ِن ل َّمْ يَنت َهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا ب ِٱ ل نّ َاصِيَةِ ١٥Kalla la-in lam yantahi lanasfaAAanbinnasiya
No indeed! If he does not cease, We shall seize him by the forelock,Ali Quli Qarai
No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock –Saheeh International
-
96:16
نَاصِيَ
ةٍ ۢك َٰ ذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍۢ ١٦Nasiyatin kathibatin khati-a
a lying, sinful forelock!Ali Quli Qarai
A lying, sinning forelock.Saheeh International
-
96:17
فَلْيَ
دْ عُ نَادِيَهُۥ ١٧FalyadAAu nadiyah
Then let him call out his gang!Ali Quli Qarai
Then let him call his associates;Saheeh International
-
96:18
سَنَ
دْ عُٱ ل زَّبَانِيَةَ ١٨SanadAAu azzabaniya
We [too] shall call the keepers of hell.Ali Quli Qarai
We will call the angels of Hell.Saheeh International
-
96:19
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَ
ٱ سْجُدْ وَٱ قْ تَرِب ۩ ١٩Kalla la tutiAAhu wasjudwaqtarib
No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate and draw near [to Allah]!Ali Quli Qarai
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allāh].Saheeh International
