Al-Bayyinah · The Clear Proof

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
-
98:1
لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ ١
Lam yakuni allatheena kafaroo min ahlialkitabi walmushrikeena munfakkeena hattata/tiyahumu albayyina
QaraiThe faithless from among the People of the Book and the polytheists were not set apart [from the community of the faithful] until the proof had come to them:
Saheeh InternationalThose who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence –
-
98:2
رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً ٢
Rasoolun mina Allahi yatloo suhufanmutahhara
Qaraian apostle from Allah reciting impeccable scriptures,
Saheeh InternationalA Messenger from Allāh, reciting purified scriptures
-
98:3
فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ ٣
Feeha kutubun qayyima
Qaraiwherein are upright writings.
Saheeh InternationalWithin which are correct writings [i.e., rulings and laws].
-
98:4
وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ ٤
Wama tafarraqa allatheena ootooalkitaba illa min baAAdi ma jaat-humualbayyina
QaraiThose who were given the Book did not divide except after the proof had come to them.
Saheeh InternationalNor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.
-
98:5
وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ ٥
Wama omiroo illa liyaAAbudooAllaha mukhliseena lahu addeena hunafaawayuqeemoo assalata wayu/too azzakatawathalika deenu alqayyima
QaraiThough they were not commanded except to worship Allah, dedicating their faith to Him as men of pure faith, and to maintain the prayer and pay the zakat. That is the upright religion.
Saheeh InternationalAnd they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion.

98:6
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ ٦
Inna allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabiwalmushrikeena fee nari jahannama khalideenafeeha ola-ika hum sharru albariyya
QaraiIndeed the faithless from among the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the fire of hell, to remain in it [forever]. It is they who are the worst of creatures.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures.

98:7
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ ٧
Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati ola-ika humkhayru albariyya
QaraiIndeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—it is they who are the best of creatures.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures.
-
98:8
جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۖ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ رَبَّهُۥ ٨
Jazaohum AAinda rabbihim jannatuAAadnin tajree min tahtiha al-anharu khalideenafeeha abadan radiya Allahu AAanhum waradooAAanhu thalika liman khashiya rabbah
QaraiTheir reward, near their Lord, is the Gardens of Eden, with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is for those who fear their Lord.
Saheeh InternationalTheir reward with their Lord will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allāh being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord.
