26:1
ط
سٓمٓ ١Ta-seen-meem
Ta, Seen, Meem.Ali Quli Qarai
Ṭā, Seen, Meem.Saheeh International
-
26:2
تِلْكَ ءَايَ
ٰ تُٱ لْكِتَٰ بِٱ لْمُبِي نِ ٢Tilka ayatu alkitabialmubeen
These are the signs of the Manifest Book.Ali Quli Qarai
These are the verses of the clear Book.Saheeh International
-
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَ
ٰ خِعٌ ۭن َّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِي نَ ٣LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka allayakoonoo mu/mineen
You are liable to imperil your life [out of distress] that they will not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Perhaps, [O Muḥammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.Saheeh International

26:4
إ
ِن ن َّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم م ِّنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ ءَايَةً ۭف َظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰ قُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰ ضِعِي نَ ٤In nasha/ nunazzil AAalayhim mina assama-iayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum lahakhadiAAeen
If We wish We will send down to them a sign from the sky before which their heads will remain bowed in humility.Ali Quli Qarai
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.Saheeh International

26:5
وَمَا يَأْتِيه
ِم م ِّن ذ ِكْرٍ ۢم ِّنَٱ ل رَّحْمَٰ نِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِي نَ ٥Wama ya/teehim min thikrin minaarrahmani muhdathin illa kanooAAanhu muAArideen
There does not come to them any new reminder from the All-beneficent but that they disregard it.Ali Quli Qarai
And no mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.Saheeh International

26:6
فَقَ
دْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢب َٰٓ ؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُو نَ ٦Faqad kaththaboo fasaya/teehim anbaoma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oon
They have already denied [the truth], but soon there will come to them the news of what they have been deriding.Ali Quli Qarai
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.Saheeh International

26:7
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْ
ا۟ إِلَىٱ لْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢب َتْنَا فِيهَا مِن ك ُلِّ زَوْجٍ ۢك َرِي مٍ ٧Awa lam yaraw ila al-ardi kamanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareem
Have they not regarded the earth, how many of every splendid kind [of vegetation] We have caused to grow in it?Ali Quli Qarai
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?Saheeh International

26:8
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ٨Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
There is indeed a sign in that; but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International
-
26:9
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ٩Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International

26:10
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَ
ىٰٓ أَنِٱ ئْتِٱ لْقَوْمَٱ ل ظَّٰ لِمِي نَ ١٠Wa-ith nada rabbukamoosa ani i/ti alqawma aththalimeen
When your Lord called out to Moses: [saying,] ‘Go to those wrongdoing people,Ali Quli Qarai
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -Saheeh International
-
26:11
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّق
ُو نَ ١١Qawma firAAawna ala yattaqoon
the people of Pharaoh. Will they not be wary [of Allah]?’Ali Quli Qarai
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allāh?"Saheeh International
-
26:12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِ
نّ ِىٓ أَخَافُ أَن ي ُكَذِّبُو نِ ١٢Qala rabbi innee akhafu anyukaththiboon
He said, ‘My Lord! I fear they will impugn me,Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny meSaheeh International
-
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ صَ
دْ رِى وَلَا يَنط َلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰ رُو نَ ١٣Wayadeequ sadree walayantaliqu lisanee faarsil ila haroon
and I will become upset and my tongue will fail me. So send for Aaron [to join me].Ali Quli Qarai
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.Saheeh International

26:14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَ
نۢب ٌ ۭف َأَخَافُ أَن ي َقْ تُلُو نِ ١٤Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafuan yaqtuloon
Besides, they have a charge against me, and I fear they will kill me.’Ali Quli Qarai
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."Saheeh International

26:15
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَ
ٱ ذْهَبَا بَِٔايَٰ تِنَآ ۖ إِنّ َا مَعَكُم م ُّسْتَمِعُو نَ ١٥Qala kalla fathhababi-ayatina inna maAAakum mustamiAAoon
He said, ‘Certainly not! Let both of you go with Our signs: We will indeed be with you, hearing [everything].Ali Quli Qarai
[Allāh] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.Saheeh International
-
26:16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُول
َآ إِنّ َا رَسُولُ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٦Fa/tiya firAAawna faqoola innarasoolu rabbi alAAalameen
So approach Pharaoh and say, ‘‘We are indeed envoys of the Lord of the worldsAli Quli Qarai
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,Saheeh International
-
26:17
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَن
ِىٓ إِسْرَٰ ٓءِي لَ ١٧An arsil maAAana banee isra-eel
that you let the Children of Israel leave with us.’’ ’Ali Quli Qarai
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"Saheeh International
-
26:18
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِي
دً ۭا و َلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِي نَ ١٨Qala alam nurabbika feenawaleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineen
He [i.e. Pharaoh] said, ‘Did we not rear you as a child among us, and did you not stay with us for years of your life?Ali Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?Saheeh International
-
26:19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ
ٱ لَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنت َ مِنَٱ لْكَٰ فِرِي نَ ١٩WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAaltawaanta mina alkafireen
Then you committed that deed of yours, and you are an ingrate.’Ali Quli Qarai
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful."Saheeh International

26:20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُه
َآ إِذً ۭا و َأَنَا۠ مِنَٱ ل ضَّا ٓلِّي نَ ٢٠Qala faAAaltuha ithanwaana mina addalleen
He said, ‘I did that when I was astray.Ali Quli Qarai
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].Saheeh International

26:21
فَفَرَرْتُ مِ
نك ُمْ لَمّ َا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمً ۭا و َجَعَلَنِى مِنَٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ٢١Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukumfawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleen
So I fled from you, as I was afraid of you. Then my Lord gave me sound judgement and made me one of the apostles.Ali Quli Qarai
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophethood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.Saheeh International

26:22
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَ
ةٌ ۭت َمُنّ ُهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّد تَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰ ٓءِي لَ ٢٢Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuha AAalayyaan AAabbadta banee isra-eel
That you have enslaved the Children of Israel—is that the favour with which you reproach me?’Ali Quli Qarai
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"Saheeh International

26:23
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ
ٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٢٣Qala firAAawnu wama rabbu alAAalameen
He said, ‘And what is ‘‘the Lord of all the worlds?’’ ’Ali Quli Qarai
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"Saheeh International
-
26:24
قَالَ رَبُّ
ٱ ل سَّمَٰ وَٰ تِ وَٱ لْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن ك ُنت ُم م ُّوقِنِي نَ ٢٤Qala rabbu assamawatiwal-ardi wama baynahuma in kuntummooqineen
He said, ‘The Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them,—should you have conviction.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."Saheeh International

26:25
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ
ۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُو نَ ٢٥Qala liman hawlahu alatastamiAAoon
He said to those who were around him, ‘Don’t you hear?!’Ali Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"Saheeh International
-
26:26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَاب
َا ٓئِكُمُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ٢٦Qala rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumual-awwaleen
He said, ‘Your Lord, and the Lord of your forefathers!’Ali Quli Qarai
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."Saheeh International
-
26:27
قَالَ إِ
نّ َ رَسُولَكُمُٱ لَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْ نُو نٌۭ ٢٧Qala inna rasoolakumu allatheeorsila ilaykum lamajnoon
He said, ‘Indeed your messenger, who has been sent to you, is surely crazy!’Ali Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."Saheeh International

26:28
قَالَ رَبُّ
ٱ لْمَشْرِقِ وَٱ لْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن ك ُنت ُمْ تَعْقِلُو نَ ٢٨Qala rabbu almashriqi walmaghribiwama baynahuma in kuntum taAAqiloon
He said, ‘The Lord of the east and the west and whatever is between them—should you exercise your reason.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."Saheeh International

26:29
قَالَ لَئِنِ
ٱ تَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰ هًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْ عَلَنّ َكَ مِنَٱ لْمَسْجُونِي نَ ٢٩Qala la-ini ittakhathta ilahanghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneen
He said, ‘If you take up any god other than me, I will surely make you a prisoner!’Ali Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."Saheeh International

26:30
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِش
َىْءٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ٣٠Qala awa law ji/tuka bishay-in mubeen
He said, ‘What if I bring you something [as an] unmistakable [proof]?’Ali Quli Qarai
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"Saheeh International
-
26:31
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِه
ِۦٓ إِن ك ُنت َ مِنَٱ ل صَّٰ دِقِي نَ ٣١Qala fa/ti bihi in kunta mina assadiqeen
He said, ‘Then bring it, should you be truthful.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."Saheeh International

26:32
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَا
نٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ٣٢Faalqa AAasahu fa-ithahiya thuAAbanun mubeen
Thereat he threw down his staff, and behold, it was a manifest python.Ali Quli Qarai
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.Saheeh International

26:33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ
ۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَا ٓءُ لِلنّ َٰ ظِرِي نَ ٣٣WanazaAAa yadahu fa-itha hiya baydaolinnathireen
Then he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white and bright to the onlookers.Ali Quli Qarai
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.Saheeh International

26:34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُ
ۥٓ إِنّ َ هَٰ ذَا لَسَٰ حِرٌ عَلِي مٌۭ ٣٤Qala lilmala-i hawlahu inna hathalasahirun AAaleem
He said to the elite [who stood] around him, ‘This is indeed an expert magicianAli Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.Saheeh International
-
26:35
يُرِيدُ أ
َن ي ُخْرِجَكُم م ِّنْ أَرْضِكُم ب ِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُو نَ ٣٥Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikumbisihrihi famatha ta/muroon
who seeks to expel you from your land with his magic. So what do you advise?’Ali Quli Qarai
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"Saheeh International
-
26:36
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱ بْ عَثْ فِىٱ لْمَدَا ٓئِنِ حَٰ شِرِي نَ ٣٦Qaloo arjih waakhahu wabAAathfee almada-ini hashireen
They said, ‘Put him and his brother off for a while, and send heralds to the citiesAli Quli Qarai
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherersSaheeh International
-
26:37
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَل
ِي مٍۢ ٣٧Ya/tooka bikulli sahharin AAaleem
to bring you every expert magician.’Ali Quli Qarai
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."Saheeh International

26:38
فَجُمِعَ
ٱ ل سَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰ تِ يَوْمٍ ۢم َّعْلُو مٍۢ ٣٨FajumiAAa assaharatu limeeqatiyawmin maAAloom
So the magicians were gathered for the tryst of a known day,Ali Quli Qarai
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.Saheeh International
-
26:39
وَقِيلَ لِل
نّ َاسِ هَلْ أَنت ُم م ُّجْ تَمِعُو نَ ٣٩Waqeela linnasi hal antummujtamiAAoon
and the people were told: ‘Will you all gather?!’Ali Quli Qarai
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregateSaheeh International
-
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ
ٱ ل سَّحَرَةَ إِن ك َانُوا۟ هُمُٱ لْغَٰ لِبِي نَ ٤٠LaAAallana nattabiAAu assaharatain kanoo humu alghalibeen
‘Maybe we will follow the magicians, if they are victors!’Ali Quli Qarai
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"Saheeh International

26:41
فَلَ
مّ َا جَا ٓءَٱ ل سَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنّ َ لَنَا لَأَجْ رًا إِن ك ُنّ َا نَحْنُٱ لْغَٰ لِبِي نَ ٤١Falamma jaa assaharatuqaloo lifirAAawna a-inna lana laajran in kunnanahnu alghalibeen
So when the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh, ‘Shall we have a reward if we were to be the victors?’Ali Quli Qarai
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"Saheeh International
-
26:42
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِ
نّ َكُمْ إِذً ۭا ل َّمِنَٱ لْمُقَرَّبِي نَ ٤٢Qala naAAam wa-innakum ithanlamina almuqarrabeen
He said, ‘Of course; and you will be among members of my inner circle.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."Saheeh International

26:43
قَالَ لَه
ُم م ُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنت ُم م ُّلْقُو نَ ٤٣Qala lahum moosa alqoo maantum mulqoon
Moses said to them, ‘Throw down whatever you have to throw!’Ali Quli Qarai
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."Saheeh International
-
26:44
فَأَلْقَوْ
ا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنّ َا لَنَحْنُٱ لْغَٰ لِبُو نَ ٤٤Faalqaw hibalahum waAAisiyyahumwaqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna inna lanahnualghaliboon
So they threw down their sticks and ropes, and said, ‘By the might of Pharaoh, we shall surely be victorious!’Ali Quli Qarai
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."Saheeh International

26:45
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِك
ُو نَ ٤٥Faalqa moosa AAasahufa-itha hiya talqafu ma ya/fikoon
Thereat Moses threw down his staff, and behold, it was swallowing what they had faked.Ali Quli Qarai
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.Saheeh International
-
26:46
فَأُلْقِىَ
ٱ ل سَّحَرَةُ سَٰ جِدِي نَ ٤٦Faolqiya assaharatu sajideen
Thereat the magicians fell down prostrating.Ali Quli Qarai
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh].Saheeh International
-
26:47
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ ءَامَنّ َا بِرَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٤٧Qaloo amanna birabbialAAalameen
They said, ‘We believe in the Lord of all the worlds,Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,Saheeh International
-
26:48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَ
ٰ رُو نَ ٤٨Rabbi moosa waharoon
the Lord of Moses and Aaron.’Ali Quli Qarai
The Lord of Moses and Aaron."Saheeh International
-
26:49
قَالَ ءَامَ
نت ُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْ لَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنّ َهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُٱ لَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُٱ ل سِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنّ َ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم م ِّنْ خِلَٰ فٍ ۢو َلَأُصَلِّبَنّ َكُمْ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٤٩Qala amantum lahu qabla an athanalakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu assihrafalasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakummin khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeen
He [i.e. Pharaoh] said, ‘Do you profess faith in Him before I should permit you? He is indeed your chief who has taught you magic! Soon you will know! I will cut off your hands and feet from opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."Saheeh International

26:50
قَالُو
ا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنّ َآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنق َلِبُو نَ ٥٠Qaloo la dayra innaila rabbina munqaliboon
They said, ‘[There is] no harm [in that]! Indeed, we shall return to our Lord.Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.Saheeh International
-
26:51
إِ
نّ َا نَطْ مَعُ أَن ي َغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰ يَٰ نَآ أَن ك ُنّ َآ أَوَّلَٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٥١Inna natmaAAu an yaghfira lanarabbuna khatayana an kunnaawwala almu/mineen
Indeed we hope our Lord will forgive us our offences for being the first to believe.’Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."Saheeh International

26:52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْن
َآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنّ َكُم م ُّتَّبَعُو نَ ٥٢Waawhayna ila moosaan asri biAAibadee innakum muttabaAAoon
Then We revealed to Moses, [saying],‘Set out with My servants at night, for you will be pursued.’Ali Quli Qarai
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."Saheeh International

26:53
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى
ٱ لْمَدَا ٓئِنِ حَٰ شِرِي نَ ٥٣Faarsala firAAawnu fee almada-ini hashireen
Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities,Ali Quli Qarai
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherersSaheeh International
-
26:54
إِ
نّ َ هَٰٓ ؤُلَا ٓءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ ۭق َلِيلُو نَ ٥٤Inna haola-i lashirthimatunqaleeloon
[proclaiming:] ‘These are indeed a small band.Ali Quli Qarai
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,Saheeh International
-
26:55
وَإِ
نّ َهُمْ لَنَا لَغَا ٓئِظُو نَ ٥٥Wa-innahum lana lagha-ithoon
They have aroused our wrath,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, they are enraging us,Saheeh International
-
26:56
وَإِ
نّ َا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰ ذِرُو نَ ٥٦Wa-inna lajameeAAun hathiroon
and we are alert and fully prepared.’Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, we are a cautious society..."Saheeh International

26:57
فَأَخْرَ
جْ نَٰ هُم م ِّن ج َنّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍۢ ٥٧Faakhrajnahum min jannatinwaAAuyoon
So We took them out of gardens and springs,Ali Quli Qarai
So We removed them from gardens and springsSaheeh International
-
26:58
وَكُنُو
زٍ ۢو َمَقَامٍ ۢك َرِي مٍۢ ٥٨Wakunoozin wamaqamin kareem
and [made them leave behind] treasures and stately homes.Ali Quli Qarai
And treasures and honorable station -Saheeh International
-
26:59
كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰ هَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰ ٓءِي لَ ٥٩Kathalika waawrathnahabanee isra-eel
So it was; and We bequeathed them to the Children of Israel.Ali Quli Qarai
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.Saheeh International
-
26:60
فَأَتْبَعُوه
ُم م ُّشْرِقِي نَ ٦٠FaatbaAAoohum mushriqeen
Then they pursued them at sunrise.Ali Quli Qarai
So they pursued them at sunrise.Saheeh International
-
26:61
فَلَ
مّ َا تَرَٰ ٓءَاٱ لْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰ بُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنّ َا لَمُدْ رَكُو نَ ٦١Falamma taraa aljamAAaniqala as-habu moosa innalamudrakoon
When the two hosts sighted each other, the companions of Moses said, ‘Indeed we have been caught up.’Ali Quli Qarai
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"Saheeh International
-
26:62
قَالَ كَلّ
َآ ۖ إِنّ َ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِي نِ ٦٢Qala kalla inna maAAiya rabbeesayahdeen
He said, ‘Certainly not! Indeed my Lord is with me. He will guide me.’Ali Quli Qarai
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."Saheeh International
-
26:63
فَأَوْحَيْن
َآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِٱ ضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَٱ لْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱ نف َلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ ۢك َٱ ل طَّوْدِٱ لْعَظِي مِ ٦٣Faawhayna ila moosaani idrib biAAasaka albahra fanfalaqafakana kullu firqin kattawdi alAAatheem
Thereupon We revealed to Moses: ‘Strike the sea with your staff!’ Whereupon it parted, and each part was as if it were a great mountain.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.Saheeh International
-
26:64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَ
مّ َٱ لَْٔاخَرِي نَ ٦٤Waazlafna thamma al-akhareen
There, We brought the others near,Ali Quli Qarai
And We advanced thereto the others [i.e., the pursuers].Saheeh International
-
26:65
وَأَ
نج َيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن م َّعَهُۥٓ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ٦٥Waanjayna moosa waman maAAahuajmaAAeen
and We delivered Moses and all those who were with him.Ali Quli Qarai
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.Saheeh International
-
26:66
ثُ
مّ َ أَغْرَقْ نَاٱ لَْٔاخَرِي نَ ٦٦Thumma aghraqna al-akhareen
Then We drowned the rest.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We drowned the others.Saheeh International
-
26:67
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ٦٧Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
There is indeed a sign in that, but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International
-
26:68
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ٦٨Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International
-
26:69
وَ
ٱ تْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْ رَٰ هِي مَ ٦٩Watlu AAalayhim nabaa ibraheem
Relate to them the account of AbrahamAli Quli Qarai
And recite to them the news of Abraham,Saheeh International
-
26:70
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِه
ِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُو نَ ٧٠Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mataAAbudoon
when he said to his father and his people, ‘What is it that you are worshiping?!’Ali Quli Qarai
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"Saheeh International
-
26:71
قَالُو
ا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامً ۭا ف َنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰ كِفِي نَ ٧١Qaloo naAAbudu asnamanfanathallu laha AAakifeen
They said, ‘We worship idols, and are constant in our devotion to them.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."Saheeh International
-
26:72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَ
دْ عُو نَ ٧٢Qala hal yasmaAAoonakum ithtadAAoon
He said, ‘Do they hear you when you call them?Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?Saheeh International
-
26:73
أَوْ يَ
نف َعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّو نَ ٧٣Aw yanfaAAoonakum aw yadurroon
Or do they bring you any benefit, or cause you any harm?’Ali Quli Qarai
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"Saheeh International
-
26:74
قَالُو
ا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْ نَآ ءَابَا ٓءَنَا كَذَٰ لِكَ يَفْعَلُو نَ ٧٤Qaloo bal wajadna abaanakathalika yafAAaloon
They said, ‘Indeed, we found our fathers doing likewise.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."Saheeh International
-
26:75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْت
ُم م َّا كُنت ُمْ تَعْبُدُو نَ ٧٥Qala afaraaytum ma kuntumtaAAbudoon
He said, ‘Have you regarded what you have been worshipping,Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,Saheeh International
-
26:76
أَ
نت ُمْ وَءَابَا ٓؤُكُمُٱ لْأَقْ دَمُو نَ ٧٦Antum waabaokumu al-aqdamoon
you and your ancestors?Ali Quli Qarai
You and your ancient forefathers?Saheeh International
-
26:77
فَإِ
نّ َهُمْ عَدُوٌّ ۭل ِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٧٧Fa-innahum AAaduwwun lee illa rabbaalAAalameen
They are indeed enemies to me, but the Lord of all the worlds,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,Saheeh International
-
26:78
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْد
ِي نِ ٧٨Allathee khalaqanee fahuwa yahdeen
who created me, it is He who guides me,Ali Quli Qarai
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.Saheeh International
-
26:79
وَ
ٱ لَّذِى هُوَ يُطْ عِمُنِى وَيَسْقِي نِ ٧٩Wallathee huwa yutAAimuneewayasqeen
and provides me with food and drink,Ali Quli Qarai
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.Saheeh International
-
26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْف
ِي نِ ٨٠Wa-itha maridtu fahuwayashfeen
and when I get sick, it is He who cures me;Ali Quli Qarai
And when I am ill, it is He who cures meSaheeh International
-
26:81
وَ
ٱ لَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمّ َ يُحْيِي نِ ٨١Wallathee yumeetunee thummayuhyeen
who will make me die, then He will bring me to life,Ali Quli Qarai
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to lifeSaheeh International
-
26:82
وَ
ٱ لَّذِىٓ أَطْ مَعُ أَن ي َغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓ َٔتِى يَوْمَٱ ل دِّي نِ ٨٢Wallathee atmaAAu anyaghfira lee khatee-atee yawma addeen
and who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the Day of Retribution.’Ali Quli Qarai
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."Saheeh International
-
26:83
رَبِّ هَ
بْ لِى حُكْمً ۭا و َأَلْحِقْ نِى بِٱ ل صَّٰ لِحِي نَ ٨٣Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqneebissaliheen
‘My Lord! Grant me [unerring] judgement, and unite me with the Righteous.Ali Quli Qarai
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.Saheeh International
-
26:84
وَ
ٱ جْ عَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْ قٍ ۢف ِىٱ لَْٔاخِرِي نَ ٨٤WajAAal lee lisana sidqinfee al-akhireen
Confer on me a worthy repute among the posterity,Ali Quli Qarai
And grant me a mention [i.e., reputation] of honor among later generations.Saheeh International
-
26:85
وَ
ٱ جْ عَلْنِى مِن و َرَثَةِ جَنّ َةِٱ ل نّ َعِي مِ ٨٥WajAAalnee min warathati jannati annaAAeem
and make me one of the heirs to the paradise of bliss.Ali Quli Qarai
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.Saheeh International
-
26:86
وَ
ٱ غْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ مِنَٱ ل ضَّا ٓلِّي نَ ٨٦Waghfir li-abee innahu kanamina addalleen
Forgive my father, for he is one of those who are astray.Ali Quli Qarai
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.Saheeh International
-
26:87
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُ
بْ عَثُو نَ ٨٧Wala tukhzinee yawma yubAAathoon
Do not disgrace me on the day that they will be resurrected,Ali Quli Qarai
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -Saheeh International
-
26:88
يَوْمَ لَا يَ
نف َعُ مَالٌ ۭو َلَا بَنُو نَ ٨٨Yawma la yanfaAAu malun walabanoon
the day when neither wealth nor children will avail,Ali Quli Qarai
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or childrenSaheeh International
-
26:89
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى
ٱ للَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ ۢس َلِي مٍۢ ٨٩Illa man ata Allahabiqalbin saleem
except him who comes to Allah with a sound heart,’Ali Quli Qarai
But only one who comes to Allāh with a sound heart."Saheeh International
-
26:90
وَأُزْلِفَتِ
ٱ لْجَنّ َةُ لِلْمُتَّقِي نَ ٩٠Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeen
and paradise will be brought near for the Godwary,Ali Quli Qarai
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.Saheeh International
-
26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ
ٱ لْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِي نَ ٩١Waburrizati aljaheemu lilghaween
and hell will be brought into view for the perverse,Ali Quli Qarai
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,Saheeh International
-
26:92
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُ
نت ُمْ تَعْبُدُو نَ ٩٢Waqeela lahum ayna ma kuntumtaAAbudoon
and they shall be told: ‘Where is that which you used to worshipAli Quli Qarai
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worshipSaheeh International
-
26:93
مِ
ن د ُونِٱ للَّهِ هَلْ يَنص ُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنت َصِرُو نَ ٩٣Min dooni Allahi hal yansuroonakumaw yantasiroon
besides Allah? Do they help you, or do they help each other?’Ali Quli Qarai
Other than Allāh? Can they help you or help themselves?"Saheeh International
-
26:94
فَكُ
بْ كِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱ لْغَاوُۥ نَ ٩٤Fakubkiboo feeha hum walghawoon
Then they will be cast into it on their faces—they and the perverse,Ali Quli Qarai
So they will be overturned into it [i.e., Hellfire], they and the deviatorsSaheeh International
-
26:95
وَجُنُودُ إِ
بْ لِيسَ أَجْ مَعُو نَ ٩٥Wajunoodu ibleesa ajmaAAoon
and the hosts of Iblis all together.Ali Quli Qarai
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.Saheeh International
-
26:96
قَالُو
ا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُو نَ ٩٦Qaloo wahum feeha yakhtasimoon
They will say, as they wrangle in it [together],Ali Quli Qarai
They will say while they dispute therein,Saheeh International
-
26:97
تَ
ٱ للَّهِ إِن ك ُنّ َا لَفِى ضَلَٰ لٍ ۢم ُّبِي نٍ ٩٧Tallahi in kunna lafeedalalin mubeen
‘By Allah, we had indeed been in manifest errorAli Quli Qarai
"By Allāh, we were indeed in manifest errorSaheeh International
-
26:98
إِذْ نُسَوِّيك
ُم ب ِرَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ٩٨Ith nusawweekum birabbi alAAalameen
when we equated you with the Lord of all the worlds!Ali Quli Qarai
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.Saheeh International
-
26:99
وَم
َآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّاٱ لْمُجْ رِمُو نَ ٩٩Wama adallana illaalmujrimoon
No one led us astray except the guilty.Ali Quli Qarai
And no one misguided us except the criminals.Saheeh International
-
26:100
فَمَا لَنَا مِ
ن ش َٰ فِعِي نَ ١٠٠Fama lana min shafiAAeen
Now we have no intercessors,Ali Quli Qarai
So now we have no intercessorsSaheeh International
-
26:101
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَم
ِي مٍۢ ١٠١Wala sadeeqin hameem
nor do we have any sympathetic friend.Ali Quli Qarai
And not a devoted friend.Saheeh International
-
26:102
فَلَوْ أَ
نّ َ لَنَا كَرَّةً ۭف َنَكُونَ مِنَٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ١٠٢Falaw anna lana karratan fanakoonamina almu/mineen
Had there been another turn for us, we would be among the faithful.’Ali Quli Qarai
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers..."Saheeh International
-
26:103
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ١٠٣Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
There is indeed a sign in that; but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International
-
26:104
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ١٠٤Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International
-
26:105
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ
ٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ١٠٥Kaththabat qawmu noohinalmursaleen
The people of Noah impugned the apostlesAli Quli Qarai
The people of Noah denied the messengersSaheeh International
-
26:106
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّق
ُو نَ ١٠٦Ith qala lahum akhoohum noohunala tattaqoon
when Noah, their brother, said to them, ‘Will you not be wary [of Allah]?Ali Quli Qarai
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?Saheeh International
-
26:107
إِ
نّ ِى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِي نٌۭ ١٠٧Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.Saheeh International
-
26:108
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٠٨Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:109
وَم
َآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْ رٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْ رِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٠٩Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward lies only with the Lord of all the worlds.Ali Quli Qarai
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.Saheeh International

26:110
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١١٠Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.’Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me."Saheeh International
-
26:111
۞ قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱ تَّبَعَكَٱ لْأَرْذَلُو نَ ١١١Qaloo anu/minu laka wattabaAAakaal-arthaloon
They said, ‘Shall we believe in you, when it is the riffraff who follow you?’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?"Saheeh International
-
26:112
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُو
ا۟ يَعْمَلُو نَ ١١٢Qala wama AAilmee bimakanoo yaAAmaloon
He said, ‘What do I know as to what they used to do?Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?Saheeh International
-
26:113
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُر
ُو نَ ١١٣In hisabuhum illa AAalarabbee law tashAAuroon
Their reckoning is only with my Lord, should you be aware.Ali Quli Qarai
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.Saheeh International
-
26:114
وَم
َآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ١١٤Wama ana bitaridialmu/mineen
I will not drive away the faithful.Ali Quli Qarai
And I am not one to drive away the believers.Saheeh International
-
26:115
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِي
رٌ ۭم ُّبِي نٌۭ ١١٥In ana illa natheerunmubeen
I am just a manifest warner.’Ali Quli Qarai
I am only a clear warner."Saheeh International
-
26:116
قَالُو
ا۟ لَئِن ل َّمْ تَنت َهِ يَٰ نُوحُ لَتَكُونَنّ َ مِنَٱ لْمَرْجُومِي نَ ١١٦Qaloo la-in lam tantahi yanoohu latakoonanna mina almarjoomeen
They said, ‘Noah, if you do not desist, you will certainly be stoned [to death].’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."Saheeh International

26:117
قَالَ رَبِّ إِ
نّ َ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُو نِ ١١٧Qala rabbi inna qawmee kaththaboon
He said, ‘My Lord! Indeed my people have impugned me.Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.Saheeh International
-
26:118
فَ
ٱ فْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحً ۭا و َنَجِّنِى وَمَن م َّعِىَ مِنَٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ١١٨Faftah baynee wabaynahum fathanwanajjinee waman maAAiya mina almu/mineen
So judge conclusively between me and them, and deliver me and the faithful who are with me.’Ali Quli Qarai
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers."Saheeh International
-
26:119
فَأَ
نج َيْنَٰ هُ وَمَن م َّعَهُۥ فِىٱ لْفُلْكِٱ لْمَشْحُو نِ ١١٩Faanjaynahu waman maAAahu feealfulki almashhoon
Thereupon We delivered him and those who were with him in the laden ark.Ali Quli Qarai
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.Saheeh International
-
26:120
ثُ
مّ َ أَغْرَقْ نَا بَعْدُٱ لْبَاقِي نَ ١٢٠Thumma aghraqna baAAdu albaqeen
Then We drowned the rest.Ali Quli Qarai
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.Saheeh International
-
26:121
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ١٢١Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International

26:122
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ١٢٢Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International

26:123
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ
ٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ١٢٣Kaththabat AAadun almursaleen
[The people of] ‘Ad impugned the apostles,Ali Quli Qarai
ʿAad denied the messengersSaheeh International
-
26:124
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّق
ُو نَ ١٢٤Ith qala lahum akhoohumhoodun ala tattaqoon
when Hud, their brother, said to them, ‘Will you not be wary [of Allah]?Ali Quli Qarai
When their brother Hūd said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?Saheeh International
-
26:125
إِ
نّ ِى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِي نٌۭ ١٢٥Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.Saheeh International
-
26:126
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٢٦Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:127
وَم
َآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْ رٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْ رِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٢٧Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward lies only with the Lord of all the worlds.Ali Quli Qarai

أَتَ
بْ نُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً ۭت َعْبَثُو نَ ١٢٨Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatantaAAbathoon
Do you build futile a sign on every prominence?Ali Quli Qarai
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,Saheeh International
-
26:129
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُد
ُو نَ ١٢٩Watattakhithoona masaniAAalaAAallakum takhludoon
You set up structures as if you will be immortal,Ali Quli Qarai
And take for yourselves constructions [i.e., palaces and fortresses] that you might abide eternally?Saheeh International
-
26:130
وَإِذَا بَطَشْت
ُم ب َطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِي نَ ١٣٠Wa-itha batashtum batashtumjabbareen
and when you seize [someone for punishment], you seize [him] like tyrants.Ali Quli Qarai
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.Saheeh International

26:131
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٣١Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:132
وَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ لَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم ب ِمَا تَعْلَمُو نَ ١٣٢Wattaqoo allathee amaddakumbima taAAlamoon
Be wary of Him who has provided you with whatever you know,Ali Quli Qarai
And fear He who provided you with that which you know,Saheeh International
-
26:133
أَمَدَّك
ُم ب ِأَنْعَٰ مٍ ۢو َبَنِي نَ ١٣٣Amaddakum bi-anAAamin wabaneen
and aided you with sons and with cattle,Ali Quli Qarai
Provided you with grazing livestock and childrenSaheeh International
-
26:134
وَجَ
نّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍ ١٣٤Wajannatin waAAuyoon
gardens and springs.Ali Quli Qarai
And gardens and springs.Saheeh International
-
26:135
إِ
نّ ِىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِي مٍۢ ١٣٥Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathabayawmin AAatheem
Indeed I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day.’Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."Saheeh International

26:136
قَالُو
ا۟ سَوَا ٓءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن م ِّنَٱ لْوَٰ عِظِي نَ ١٣٦Qaloo sawaon AAalaynaawaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheen
They said, ‘It is the same to us whether you exhort us or not.Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.Saheeh International
-
26:137
إِنْ هَ
ٰ ذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ١٣٧In hatha illa khuluqual-awwaleen
These are nothing but the traditions of the ancients,Ali Quli Qarai
This is not but the custom of the former peoples,Saheeh International
-
26:138
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّب
ِي نَ ١٣٨Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeen
and we will not be punished.’Ali Quli Qarai
And we are not to be punished."Saheeh International
-
26:139
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَ
ٰ هُمْ ۗ إِنّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ١٣٩Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahuminna fee thalika laayatan wama kanaaktharuhum mu/mineen
So they impugned him, whereupon We destroyed them. There is indeed a sign in that; but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International

26:140
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ١٤٠Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International

26:141
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ
ٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ١٤١Kaththabat thamoodu almursaleen
[The people of] Thamud impugned the apostlesAli Quli Qarai
Thamūd denied the messengersSaheeh International
-
26:142
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَ
ٰ لِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُو نَ ١٤٢Ith qala lahum akhoohum salihunala tattaqoon
when Salih, their brother, said to them, ‘Will you not be wary [of Allah]?Ali Quli Qarai
When their brother Ṣāliḥ said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?Saheeh International
-
26:143
إِ
نّ ِى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِي نٌۭ ١٤٣Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.Saheeh International
-
26:144
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٤٤Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:145
وَم
َآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْ رٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْ رِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٤٥Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen
I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward lies only with the Lord of all the worlds.Ali Quli Qarai
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.Saheeh International

26:146
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَ
ٰ هُنَآ ءَامِنِي نَ ١٤٦Atutrakoona fee ma hahunaamineen
Will you be left secure in that which is hereAli Quli Qarai
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],Saheeh International
-
26:147
فِى جَ
نّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َعُيُو نٍۢ ١٤٧Fee jannatin waAAuyoon
—amid gardens and springs,Ali Quli Qarai
Within gardens and springsSaheeh International
-
26:148
وَزُرُو
عٍ ۢو َنَخْلٍ ۢط َلْعُهَا هَضِي مٌۭ ١٤٨WazurooAAin wanakhlin talAAuhahadeem
farms and date palms with dainty spathesAli Quli Qarai
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?Saheeh International
-
26:149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ
ٱ لْجِبَالِ بُيُوتً ۭا ف َٰ رِهِي نَ ١٤٩Watanhitoona mina aljibalibuyootan fariheen
—while you skillfully hew out houses from the mountains?Ali Quli Qarai
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.Saheeh International
-
26:150
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٥٠Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me,Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:151
وَلَا تُطِيع
ُوٓ ا۟ أَمْرَٱ لْمُسْرِفِي نَ ١٥١Wala tuteeAAoo amraalmusrifeen
and do not obey the dictates of the transgressors,Ali Quli Qarai
And do not obey the order of the transgressors,Saheeh International
-
26:152
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى
ٱ لْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُو نَ ١٥٢Allatheena yufsidoona fee al-ardiwala yuslihoon
who cause corruption in the land and do not bring about reform.’Ali Quli Qarai
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."Saheeh International
-
26:153
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ إِنّ َمَآ أَنت َ مِنَٱ لْمُسَحَّرِي نَ ١٥٣Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareen
They said, ‘Indeed you are one of the bewitched.Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.Saheeh International
-
26:154
م
َآ أَنت َ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ ۭم ِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بَِٔايَةٍ إِن ك ُنت َ مِنَٱ ل صَّٰ دِقِي نَ ١٥٤Ma anta illa basharun mithlunafa/ti bi-ayatin in kunta mina assadiqeena
You are just a human being like us. So bring us a sign, should you be truthful.’Ali Quli Qarai
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."Saheeh International

26:155
قَالَ هَ
ٰ ذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ ۭل َّهَا شِرْبٌ ۭو َلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ ۢم َّعْلُو مٍۢ ١٥٥Qala hathihi naqatunlaha shirbun walakum shirbu yawmin maAAloom
He said, ‘This is a she-camel; she shall drink and you shall drink on known days.Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.Saheeh International
-
26:156
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِس
ُو ٓءٍ ۢف َيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِي مٍۢ ١٥٦Wala tamassooha bisoo-infaya/khuthakum AAathabu yawmin AAatheem
Do not cause her any harm, for then you shall be seized by the punishment of a terrible day.’Ali Quli Qarai
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."Saheeh International

26:157
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُو
ا۟ نَٰ دِمِي نَ ١٥٧FaAAaqarooha faasbahoonadimeen
But they hamstrung her, whereupon they became regretful.Ali Quli Qarai
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.Saheeh International
-
26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
ٱ لْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ١٥٨Faakhathahumu alAAathabu innafee thalika laayatan wama kanaaktharuhum mu/mineen
So the punishment seized them. There is indeed a sign in that; but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International

26:159
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ١٥٩Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International
-
26:160
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ
ٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ١٦٠Kaththabat qawmu lootinalmursaleen
The people of Lot impugned the apostlesAli Quli Qarai
The people of Lot denied the messengersSaheeh International
-
26:161
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّق
ُو نَ ١٦١Ith qala lahum akhoohum lootunala tattaqoon
when Lot, their brother, said to them, ‘Will you not be wary [of Allah]?Ali Quli Qarai
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?Saheeh International
-
26:162
إِ
نّ ِى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِي نٌۭ ١٦٢Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.Saheeh International
-
26:163
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٦٣Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:164
وَم
َآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْ رٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْ رِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٦٤Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen

26:165
أَتَأْتُونَ
ٱ ل ذُّكْرَانَ مِنَٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٦٥Ata/toona aththukranamina alAAalameen
What! Of all people do you come to males,Ali Quli Qarai
Do you approach males among the worldsSaheeh International
-
26:166
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّك
ُم م ِّنْ أَزْوَٰ جِكُم ۚ ب َلْ أَنت ُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُو نَ ١٦٦Watatharoona ma khalaqa lakumrabbukum min azwajikum bal antum qawmun AAadoon
abandoning your wives your Lord has created for you? Indeed, you are a transgressing lot.’Ali Quli Qarai
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."Saheeh International

26:167
قَالُو
ا۟ لَئِن ل َّمْ تَنت َهِ يَٰ لُوطُ لَتَكُونَنّ َ مِنَٱ لْمُخْرَجِي نَ ١٦٧Qaloo la-in lam tantahi yalootu latakoonanna mina almukhrajeen
They said, ‘Lot, if you do not desist, you will surely be banished.’Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted."Saheeh International
-
26:168
قَالَ إِ
نّ ِى لِعَمَلِكُم م ِّنَٱ لْقَالِي نَ ١٦٨Qala innee liAAamalikum mina alqaleen
He said, ‘Indeed I detest your conduct.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].Saheeh International
-
26:169
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِ
مّ َا يَعْمَلُو نَ ١٦٩Rabbi najjinee waahlee mimmayaAAmaloon
‘My Lord! Deliver me and my family from what they do.’Ali Quli Qarai
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do."Saheeh International
-
26:170
فَنَجَّيْنَ
ٰ هُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْ مَعِي نَ ١٧٠Fanajjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeen
So We delivered him and all his family,Ali Quli Qarai
So We saved him and his family, all,Saheeh International
-
26:171
إِلَّا عَجُو
زً ۭا ف ِىٱ لْغَٰ بِرِي نَ ١٧١Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireen
except an old woman who remained behind.Ali Quli Qarai
Except an old woman among those who remained behind.Saheeh International
-
26:172
ثُ
مّ َ دَمّ َرْنَاٱ لَْٔاخَرِي نَ ١٧٢Thumma dammarna al-akhareen
Then We destroyed [all] the rest,Ali Quli Qarai
Then We destroyed the others.Saheeh International
-
26:173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْه
ِم م َّطَرً ۭا ۖ ف َسَا ٓءَ مَطَرُٱ لْمُنذ َرِي نَ ١٧٣Waamtarna AAalayhim mataranfasaa mataru almunthareen
and rained down upon them a rain [of stones]. Evil was the rain of those who were warned!Ali Quli Qarai
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.Saheeh International
-
26:174
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ١٧٤Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
There is indeed a sign in that; but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International
-
26:175
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ١٧٥Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International

26:176
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَ
ٰ بُ لَْٔيْكَةِٱ لْمُرْسَلِي نَ ١٧٦Kaththaba as-habual-aykati almursaleen
The inhabitants of Aykah impugned the apostles,Ali Quli Qarai
The companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] denied the messengersSaheeh International
-
26:177
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّق
ُو نَ ١٧٧Ith qala lahum shuAAaybun alatattaqoon
when Shu‘ayb said to them, ‘Will you not be wary [of Allah]?Ali Quli Qarai
When Shuʿayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?Saheeh International
-
26:178
إِ
نّ ِى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِي نٌۭ ١٧٨Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.Saheeh International
-
26:179
فَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ وَأَطِيعُو نِ ١٧٩Fattaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon
So be wary of Allah and obey me.Ali Quli Qarai
So fear Allāh and obey me.Saheeh International
-
26:180
وَم
َآ أَسَْٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْ رٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْ رِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٨٠Wama as-alukum AAalayhi min ajrin inajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen

26:181
۞ أَوْفُو
ا۟ ٱ لْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَٱ لْمُخْسِرِي نَ ١٨١Awfoo alkayla wala takoonoo minaalmukhsireen
Observe the full measure, and do not be of those who give short measure.Ali Quli Qarai
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.Saheeh International
-
26:182
وَزِنُو
ا۟ بِٱ لْقِسْطَاسِٱ لْمُسْتَقِي مِ ١٨٢Wazinoo bilqistasialmustaqeem
Weigh with an even balance,Ali Quli Qarai
And weigh with an even [i.e., honest] balance.Saheeh International
-
26:183
وَلَا تَ
بْ خَسُوا۟ ٱ ل نّ َاسَ أَشْيَا ٓءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِىٱ لْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِي نَ ١٨٣Wala tabkhasoo annasaashyaahum wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideen
and do not cheat the people of their goods. Do not act wickedly on the earth, causing corruption.Ali Quli Qarai
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.Saheeh International
-
26:184
وَ
ٱ تَّقُوا۟ ٱ لَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱ لْجِبِلَّةَٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ١٨٤Wattaqoo allathee khalaqakumwaljibillata al-awwaleen
Be wary of Him who created you and the earlier generations.’Ali Quli Qarai
And fear He who created you and the former creation."Saheeh International
-
26:185
قَال
ُوٓ ا۟ إِنّ َمَآ أَنت َ مِنَٱ لْمُسَحَّرِي نَ ١٨٥Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareen
They said, ‘Indeed you are one of the bewitched.Ali Quli Qarai
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.Saheeh International
-
26:186
وَم
َآ أَنت َ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ ۭم ِّثْلُنَا وَإِن ن َّظُنّ ُكَ لَمِنَٱ لْكَٰ ذِبِي نَ ١٨٦Wama anta illa basharunmithluna wa-in nathunnuka lamina alkathibeen
You are just a human being like us, and we indeed consider you to be a liar.Ali Quli Qarai
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.Saheeh International
-
26:187
فَأَسْقِ
طْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفً ۭا م ِّنَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ إِن ك ُنت َ مِنَٱ ل صَّٰ دِقِي نَ ١٨٧Faasqit AAalayna kisafan minaassama-i in kunta mina assadiqeen
Make a fragment of the sky falls upon us, should you be truthful.’Ali Quli Qarai
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful."Saheeh International
-
26:188
قَالَ رَبّ
ِىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُو نَ ١٨٨Qala rabbee aAAlamu bimataAAmaloon
He said, ‘My Lord knows best what you are doing.’Ali Quli Qarai
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."Saheeh International
-
26:189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ
ٱ ل ظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنّ َهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِي مٍ ١٨٩Fakaththaboohu faakhathahumAAathabu yawmi aththullati innahu kanaAAathaba yawmin AAatheem
So they impugned him, and then they were overtaken by the punishment of the day of the overshadowing cloud. It was indeed the punishment of a terrible day.Ali Quli Qarai
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.Saheeh International
-
26:190
إِ
نّ َ فِى ذَٰ لِكَ لََٔايَةً ۭۖ و َمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم م ُّؤْمِنِي نَ ١٩٠Inna fee thalika laayatan wamakana aktharuhum mu/mineen
There is indeed a sign in that; but most of them do not have faith.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.Saheeh International
-
26:191
وَإِ
نّ َ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَٱ لْعَزِيزُٱ ل رَّحِي مُ ١٩١Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem
Indeed your Lord is the All-mighty, the All-merciful.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.Saheeh International

26:192
وَإِ
نّ َهُۥ لَتَنز ِيلُ رَبِّٱ لْعَٰ لَمِي نَ ١٩٢Wa-innahu latanzeelu rabbi alAAalameen
This is indeed [a Book] sent down by the Lord of all the worlds,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.Saheeh International
-
26:193
نَزَلَ بِهِ
ٱ ل رُّوحُٱ لْأَمِي نُ ١٩٣Nazala bihi arroohu al-ameen
brought down by the Trustworthy SpiritAli Quli Qarai
The Trustworthy Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] has brought it downSaheeh International
-
26:194
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ
ٱ لْمُنذ ِرِي نَ ١٩٤AAala qalbika litakoona mina almunthireen
upon your heart (so that you may be one of the warners),Ali Quli Qarai
Upon your heart, [O Muḥammad] - that you may be of the warnersSaheeh International
-
26:195
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِ
ىٍّ ۢم ُّبِي نٍۢ ١٩٥Bilisanin AAarabiyyin mubeen
in a clear Arabic language.Ali Quli Qarai
In a clear Arabic language.Saheeh International
-
26:196
وَإِ
نّ َهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِٱ لْأَوَّلِي نَ ١٩٦Wa-innahu lafee zuburi al-awwaleen
It is indeed [foretold] in the scriptures of the ancients.Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.Saheeh International
-
26:197
أَوَلَمْ يَك
ُن ل َّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن ي َعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓ ؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰ ٓءِي لَ ١٩٧Awa lam yakun lahum ayatan anyaAAlamahu AAulamao banee isra-eel
Is it not a sign for them that the learned of the Children of Israel recognize it?Ali Quli Qarai
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?Saheeh International
-
26:198
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَ
ٰ هُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِٱ لْأَعْجَمِي نَ ١٩٨Walaw nazzalnahu AAala baAAdial-aAAjameen
Had We sent it down upon some non-ArabAli Quli Qarai
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreignersSaheeh International
-
26:199
فَقَرَأَهُ
ۥ عَلَيْهِم م َّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِي نَ ١٩٩Faqaraahu AAalayhim ma kanoobihi mu/mineen
and had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it.Ali Quli Qarai
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.Saheeh International
-
26:200
كَذَ
ٰ لِكَ سَلَكْنَٰ هُ فِى قُلُوبِٱ لْمُجْ رِمِي نَ ٢٠٠Kathalika salaknahu feequloobi almujrimeen
This is how We let it pass through the hearts of the guilty:Ali Quli Qarai
Thus have We inserted it [i.e., disbelief] into the hearts of the criminals.Saheeh International
-
26:201
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِه
ِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱ لْعَذَابَٱ لْأَلِي مَ ٢٠١La yu/minoona bihi hattayarawoo alAAathaba al-aleem
they do not believe in it until they sight the painful punishment.Ali Quli Qarai
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.Saheeh International
-
26:202
فَيَأْتِيَه
ُم ب َغْتَةً ۭو َهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُو نَ ٢٠٢Faya/tiyahum baghtatan wahum layashAAuroon
It will overtake them suddenly while they are unaware.Ali Quli Qarai
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.Saheeh International
-
26:203
فَيَقُولُو
ا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظ َرُو نَ ٢٠٣Fayaqooloo hal nahnu muntharoon
Thereupon they will say, ‘Shall we be granted any respite?’Ali Quli Qarai
And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"Saheeh International
-
26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِل
ُو نَ ٢٠٤AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloon
So do they seek to hasten on Our punishment?Ali Quli Qarai
So for Our punishment are they impatient?Saheeh International
-
26:205
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إ
ِن م َّتَّعْنَٰ هُمْ سِنِي نَ ٢٠٥Afaraayta in mattaAAnahum sineen
Tell me, should We let them enjoy for some years,Ali Quli Qarai
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for yearsSaheeh International
-
26:206
ثُ
مّ َ جَا ٓءَهُم م َّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُو نَ ٢٠٦Thumma jaahum ma kanooyooAAadoon
then there comes to them what they have been promised,Ali Quli Qarai
And then there came to them that which they were promised?Saheeh International
-
26:207
م
َآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم م َّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُو نَ ٢٠٧Ma aghna AAanhum ma kanooyumattaAAoon
of what avail to them will be that which they were given to enjoy?Ali Quli Qarai
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.Saheeh International
-
26:208
وَم
َآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن ق َرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذ ِرُو نَ ٢٠٨Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illalaha munthiroon
We have not destroyed any town without its having warners,Ali Quli Qarai
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warnersSaheeh International
-
26:209
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُ
نّ َا ظَٰ لِمِي نَ ٢٠٩Thikra wama kunnathalimeen
for the sake of admonition, and We were not unjust.Ali Quli Qarai
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.Saheeh International
-
26:210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ
ٱ ل شَّيَٰ طِي نُ ٢١٠Wama tanazzalat bihi ashshayateen
It has not been brought down by the devils.Ali Quli Qarai
And the devils have not brought it [i.e., the revelation] down.Saheeh International
-
26:211
وَمَا يَ
نۢب َغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُو نَ ٢١١Wama yanbaghee lahum wamayastateeAAoon
Neither does it behoove them, nor are they capable [of doing that].Ali Quli Qarai
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.Saheeh International
-
26:212
إِ
نّ َهُمْ عَنِٱ ل سَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُو نَ ٢١٢Innahum AAani assamAAilamaAAzooloona
Indeed, they are kept at bay [even] from hearing it.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.Saheeh International
-
26:213
فَلَا تَ
دْ عُ مَعَٱ للَّهِ إِلَٰ هًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَٱ لْمُعَذَّبِي نَ ٢١٣Fala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara fatakoona mina almuAAaththabeen
So do not invoke any god besides Allah, lest you should be among the punished.Ali Quli Qarai
So do not invoke with Allāh another deity and [thus] be among the punished.Saheeh International
-
26:214
وَأَ
نذ ِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَٱ لْأَقْ رَبِي نَ ٢١٤Waanthir AAasheerataka al-aqrabeen
Warn the nearest of your kinsfolk,Ali Quli Qarai
And warn, [O Muḥammad], your closest kindred.Saheeh International
-
26:215
وَ
ٱ خْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِٱ تَّبَعَكَ مِنَٱ لْمُؤْمِنِي نَ ٢١٥Wakhfid janahakalimani ittabaAAaka mina almu/mineen
and lower your wing to the faithful who follow you.Ali Quli Qarai
And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to those who follow you of the believers.Saheeh International
-
26:216
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِ
نّ ِى بَرِى ٓءٌ ۭم ِّمّ َا تَعْمَلُو نَ ٢١٦Fa-in AAasawka faqul innee baree-onmimma taAAmaloon
But if they disobey you, say, ‘I am absolved of what you do.’Ali Quli Qarai
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."Saheeh International
-
26:217
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى
ٱ لْعَزِيزِٱ ل رَّحِي مِ ٢١٧Watawakkal AAala alAAazeezi arraheem
And put your trust in the All-mighty, the All-merciful,Ali Quli Qarai
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,Saheeh International
-
26:218
ٱلَّذِى يَرَ
ىٰ كَ حِينَ تَقُو مُ ٢١٨Allathee yaraka heenataqoom
who sees you when you stand [for prayer],Ali Quli Qarai
Who sees you when you ariseSaheeh International
-
26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى
ٱ ل سَّٰ جِدِي نَ ٢١٩Wataqallubaka fee assajideen
and your going about among those who prostrate.Ali Quli Qarai
And your movement among those who prostrate.Saheeh International
-
26:220
إِ
نّ َهُۥ هُوَٱ ل سَّمِيعُٱ لْعَلِي مُ ٢٢٠Innahu huwa assameeAAu alAAaleem
Indeed He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.Saheeh International
-
26:221
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَ
ن ت َنَزَّلُٱ ل شَّيَٰ طِي نُ ٢٢١Hal onabbi-okum AAala man tanazzaluashshayateen
Should I inform you on whom the devils descend?Ali Quli Qarai
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?Saheeh International
-
26:222
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَث
ِي مٍۢ ٢٢٢Tanazzalu AAala kulli affakinatheem
They descend on every sinful liar.Ali Quli Qarai
They descend upon every sinful liar.Saheeh International
-
26:223
يُلْقُونَ
ٱ ل سَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰ ذِبُو نَ ٢٢٣Yulqoona assamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboon
They eavesdrop, and most of them are liars.Ali Quli Qarai
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars.Saheeh International
-
26:224
وَ
ٱ ل شُّعَرَا ٓءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُٱ لْغَاوُۥ نَ ٢٢٤WashshuAAaraoyattabiAAuhumu alghawoon
As for the poets, [only] the perverse follow them.Ali Quli Qarai
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them.Saheeh International
-
26:225
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَ
نّ َهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ ۢي َهِيمُو نَ ٢٢٥Alam tara annahum fee kulli wadinyaheemoon
Have you not regarded that they rove in every valley,Ali Quli Qarai
Do you not see that in every valley they roamSaheeh International
-
26:226
وَأَ
نّ َهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُو نَ ٢٢٦Waannahum yaqooloona ma layafAAaloon
and that they say what they do not do?Ali Quli Qarai
And that they say what they do not do? -Saheeh International
-
26:227
إِلَّا
ٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱ ل صَّٰ لِحَٰ تِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱ للَّهَ كَثِيرً ۭا و َٱ نت َصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ ب َعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُٱ لَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓ ا۟ أَىَّ مُنق َلَبٍ ۢي َنق َلِبُو نَ ٢٢٧Illa allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati wathakaroo Allahakatheeran wantasaroo min baAAdi ma thulimoowasayaAAlamu allatheena thalamoo ayyamunqalabin yanqaliboon
Barring those who have faith, do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much often, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. And the wrongdoers will soon know at what goal they will end up.Ali Quli Qarai
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allāh often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.Saheeh International
