بِسْمِ
-
54:1
ٱ
قْ تَرَبَتِٱ ل سَّاعَةُ وَٱ نش َقَّٱ لْقَمَرُ ١Iqtarabati assaAAatu wanshaqqaalqamar
The Hour has drawn near and the moon is split.Ali Quli Qarai
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].Saheeh International
-
54:2
وَإ
ِن ي َرَوْا۟ ءَايَةً ۭي ُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌ ۭم ُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ ٢Wa-in yaraw ayatan yuAAridoowayaqooloo sihrun mustamirr
If they see a sign, they turn away, and say, ‘An incessant magic!’Ali Quli Qarai
And if they see a sign [i.e., miracle], they turn away and say, "Passing magic."Saheeh International

54:3
وَكَذَّبُو
ا۟ وَٱ تَّبَعُوٓ ا۟ أَهْوَا ٓءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ ۢم ُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ ٣Wakaththaboo wattabaAAoo ahwaahumwakullu amrin mustaqirr
They denied and followed their own desires, and every matter has a setting [appropriate to it].Ali Quli Qarai
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.Saheeh International

54:4
وَلَقَ
دْ جَا ٓءَهُم م ِّنَٱ لْأَنۢب َا ٓءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ ٤Walaqad jaahum mina al-anba-i mafeehi muzdajar
There have already come to them reports containing admonishment,Ali Quli Qarai
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence.Saheeh International
-
54:5
حِكْمَ
ةٌۢ ب َٰ لِغَةٌ ۭۖ ف َمَا تُغْنِٱ ل نّ ُذُرُ ٥Hikmatun balighatun famatughnee annuthur
[and representing] far-reaching wisdom; but warnings are of no avail!Ali Quli Qarai
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them].Saheeh International
-
54:6
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَ
دْ عُٱ ل دَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍ ۢن ُّكُرٍ ٦Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu addaAAiila shay-in nukur
So turn away from them! The day when the Caller calls to a dire thing,Ali Quli Qarai
So leave them, [O Muḥammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding,Saheeh International

54:7
خُشَّعًا أَ
بْ صَٰ رُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَٱ لْأَجْ دَاثِ كَأَنّ َهُمْ جَرَادٌ ۭم ُّنت َشِرٌۭ ٧KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoonamina al-ajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashir
they will emerge from the graves as if they were scattered locusts with a humbled look [in their eyes],Ali Quli Qarai
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,Saheeh International

54:8
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى
ٱ ل دَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُٱ لْكَٰ فِرُونَ هَٰ ذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌۭ ٨MuhtiAAeena ila addaAAiyaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasir
scrambling toward the summoner. The faithless will say, ‘This is a hard day!’Ali Quli Qarai
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."Saheeh International

54:9
۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَ
بْ لَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ۢف َكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْ دَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْ نُونٌ ۭو َٱ زْدُجِرَ ٩Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinfakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun wazdujir
The people of Noah impugned before them. So they impugned Our servant and said, ‘A crazy man,’ and he was reviled.Ali Quli Qarai
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.Saheeh International

54:10
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ
ۥٓ أَنّ ِى مَغْلُوبٌ ۭف َٱ نت َصِرْ ١٠FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun fantasir
Thereat he invoked his Lord, [saying,] ‘I have been overcome, so help [me].’Ali Quli Qarai
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."Saheeh International
-
54:11
فَفَتَحْن
َآ أَبْ وَٰ بَٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءِ بِمَا ٓءٍ ۢم ُّنْهَمِرٍۢ ١١Fafatahna abwaba assama-ibima-in munhamir
Then We opened the gates of the sky with pouring waters,Ali Quli Qarai
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring downSaheeh International
-
54:12
وَفَجَّرْنَا
ٱ لْأَرْضَ عُيُونً ۭا ف َٱ لْتَقَىٱ لْمَا ٓءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍ ۢق َدْ قُدِرَ ١٢Wafajjarna al-arda AAuyoonanfaltaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudir
and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and the waters met for a preordained purpose.Ali Quli Qarai
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.Saheeh International
-
54:13
وَحَمَلْنَ
ٰ هُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰ حٍ ۢو َدُسُرٍۢ ١٣Wahamalnahu AAala thatialwahin wadusur
We bore him on a vessel made of planks and nails,Ali Quli Qarai
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,Saheeh International
-
54:14
تَ
جْ رِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَا ٓءً ۭل ِّمَن ك َانَ كُفِرَ ١٤Tajree bi-aAAyunina jazaanliman kana kufir
which sailed [over the flood waters] in Our sight, as a retribution for him who was met with disbelief.Ali Quli Qarai
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.Saheeh International

54:15
وَلَقَ
د تَّرَكْنَٰ هَآ ءَايَةً ۭف َهَلْ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍۢ ١٥Walaqad taraknaha ayatanfahal min muddakir
Certainly We have left it as a sign; so is there anyone who will be admonished?Ali Quli Qarai
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?Saheeh International
-
54:16
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ١٦
Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthur
So how were My punishment and warnings?Ali Quli Qarai
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.Saheeh International
-
54:17
وَلَقَ
دْ يَسَّرْنَاٱ لْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍۢ ١٧Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana liththikrifahal min muddakir
Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?Ali Quli Qarai
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?Saheeh International

54:18
كَذَّبَتْ عَا
دٌ ۭف َكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ١٨Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kanaAAathabee wanuthur
[The people of] ‘Ad impugned [their apostle]. So how were My punishment and warnings?Ali Quli Qarai
ʿAad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.Saheeh International
-
54:19
إِ
نّ َآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحً ۭا ص َرْصَرً ۭا ف ِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ ۢم ُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ ١٩Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehansarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirr
Indeed We unleashed upon them an icy gale on an incessantly ill-fated day,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,Saheeh International
-
54:20
تَ
نز ِعُٱ ل نّ َاسَ كَأَنّ َهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ ۢم ُّنق َعِرٍۢ ٢٠TanziAAu annasa kaannahumaAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAir
knocking down people as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees.Ali Quli Qarai
Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.Saheeh International
-
54:21
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٢١
Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthur
So how were My punishment and warnings?!Ali Quli Qarai
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.Saheeh International
-
54:22
وَلَقَ
دْ يَسَّرْنَاٱ لْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍۢ ٢٢Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana liththikrifahal min muddakir
Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?Ali Quli Qarai
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?Saheeh International

54:23
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِ
ٱ ل نّ ُذُرِ ٢٣Kaththabat thamoodu binnuthur
[The people of] Thamud denied the warnings,Ali Quli Qarai
Thamūd denied the warning.Saheeh International
-
54:24
فَقَال
ُوٓ ا۟ أَبَشَرً ۭا م ِّنّ َا وَٰ حِدً ۭا ن َّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنّ َآ إِذً ۭا ل َّفِى ضَلَٰ لٍ ۢو َسُعُرٍ ٢٤Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidannattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalinwasuAAur
and they said, ‘Are we to follow a lone human from ourselves?! Indeed then we would be in error and madness.’Ali Quli Qarai
And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.Saheeh International

54:25
أَءُلْقِىَ
ٱ ل ذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ ب َيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌۭ ٢٥Aolqiya aththikru AAalayhimin baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashir
‘Has the Reminder been cast upon him from among us? No, he is a self-conceited liar.’Ali Quli Qarai
Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar."Saheeh International

54:26
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَ
دً ۭا م َّنِٱ لْكَذَّابُٱ لْأَشِرُ ٢٦SayaAAlamoona ghadan mani alkaththabual-ashir
‘Tomorrow they will know who is a self-conceited liar.Ali Quli Qarai
They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar.Saheeh International

54:27
إِ
نّ َا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱ ل نّ َاقَةِ فِتْنَةً ۭل َّهُمْ فَٱ رْتَقِبْ هُمْ وَٱ صْطَبِرْ ٢٧Inna mursiloo annaqatifitnatan lahum fartaqibhum wastabir
We are sending the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch them and be steadfast.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient.Saheeh International

54:28
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَ
نّ َٱ لْمَا ٓءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ ب َيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ ۢم ُّحْتَضَرٌۭ ٢٨Wanabbi/hum anna almaa qismatunbaynahum kullu shirbin muhtadar
Inform them that the water is to be shared between them; each of them showing up at his turn.’Ali Quli Qarai
And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn].Saheeh International

54:29
فَنَادَوْ
ا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ٢٩Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAatafaAAaqar
But they called their companion, and he took [a knife] and hamstrung [her].Ali Quli Qarai
But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her].Saheeh International
-
54:30
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٣٠
Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthur
So how were My punishment and My warnings?!Ali Quli Qarai
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.Saheeh International
-
54:31
إِ
نّ َآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً ۭو َٰ حِدَةً ۭف َكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِٱ لْمُحْتَظِرِ ٣١Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatanwahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathir
We sent against them a single Cry, and they became like the dry sticks of a corral builder.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, We sent upon them one shriek [i.e., blast from the sky], and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen.Saheeh International

54:32
وَلَقَ
دْ يَسَّرْنَاٱ لْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍۢ ٣٢Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana liththikrifahal min muddakir
Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?Ali Quli Qarai
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?Saheeh International

54:33
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُو
طٍۭ ب ِٱ ل نّ ُذُرِ ٣٣Kaththabat qawmu lootin binnuthur
And the people of Lot denied the warnings.Ali Quli Qarai
The people of Lot denied the warning.Saheeh International
-
54:34
إِ
نّ َآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ۢۖ ن َّجَّيْنَٰ هُم ب ِسَحَرٍۢ ٣٤Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasibanilla ala lootin najjaynahum bisahar
We unleashed upon them a rain of stones, excepting the family of Lot, whom We delivered at dawnAli Quli Qarai
Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn.Saheeh International

54:35
نِّعْمَ
ةً ۭم ِّنْ عِند ِنَا ۚ كَذَٰ لِكَ نَجْ زِى مَن ش َكَرَ ٣٥NiAAmatan min AAindina kathalikanajzee man shakar
as a blessing from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks.Ali Quli Qarai
As favor from Us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful.Saheeh International
-
54:36
وَلَقَ
دْ أَنذ َرَهُم ب َطْ شَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱ ل نّ ُذُرِ ٣٦Walaqad antharahum batshatanafatamaraw binnuthur
He had already warned them of Our punishment, but they disputed the warnings.Ali Quli Qarai
And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning.Saheeh International

54:37
وَلَقَ
دْ رَٰ وَدُوهُ عَن ض َيْفِهِۦ فَطَمَسْنَآ أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٣٧Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihifatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabeewanuthur
They even solicited of him his guests, whereat We blotted out their eyes, [saying,] ‘Taste My punishment and My warnings!’Ali Quli Qarai
And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning."Saheeh International

54:38
وَلَقَ
دْ صَبَّحَهُم ب ُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ ۭم ُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ ٣٨Walaqad sabbahahum bukratanAAathabun mustaqirr
Early at dawn there visited them an abiding punishment:Ali Quli Qarai
And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment.Saheeh International

54:39
فَذُوقُو
ا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٣٩Fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthur
‘Taste My punishment and warnings!’Ali Quli Qarai
So taste My punishment and warning.Saheeh International
-
54:40
وَلَقَ
دْ يَسَّرْنَاٱ لْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍۢ ٤٠Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana liththikrifahal min muddakir
Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?Ali Quli Qarai
And We have certainly made the Qur’ān easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?Saheeh International
-
54:41
وَلَقَ
دْ جَا ٓءَ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَٱ ل نّ ُذُرُ ٤١Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna annuthur
Certainly the warnings did come to Pharaoh’s clanAli Quli Qarai
And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning.Saheeh International
-
54:42
كَذَّبُو
ا۟ بَِٔايَٰ تِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَٰ هُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ ۢم ُّقْ تَدِرٍ ٤٢Kaththaboo bi-ayatinakulliha faakhathnahum akhthaAAazeezin muqtadir
who denied all of Our signs. So We seized them with the seizing of One [who is] all-mighty, Omnipotent.Ali Quli Qarai
They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability.Saheeh International
-
54:43
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْ
رٌ ۭم ِّنْ أُو۟ لَٰٓ ئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم ب َرَا ٓءَةٌ ۭف ِىٱ ل زُّبُرِ ٤٣Akuffarukum khayrun min ola-ikumam lakum baraatun fee azzubur
Are your faithless better than those? Have you [been granted] [some sort of] immunity in the scriptures?Ali Quli Qarai
Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scriptures?Saheeh International
-
54:44
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِي
عٌ ۭم ُّنت َصِرٌۭ ٤٤Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasir
Do they say, ‘We are a confederate league’?Ali Quli Qarai
Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"?Saheeh International
-
54:45
سَيُهْزَمُ
ٱ لْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَٱ ل دُّبُرَ ٤٥Sayuhzamu aljamAAu wayuwalloona addubur
The league will be routed and turn its back [to flee].Ali Quli Qarai
[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat].Saheeh International

54:46
بَلِ
ٱ ل سَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَٱ ل سَّاعَةُ أَدْ هَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ٤٦Bali assaAAatu mawAAiduhum wassaAAatuadha waamar
Indeed, the Hour is their tryst; and the Hour will be most calamitous and bitter.Ali Quli Qarai
But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter.Saheeh International
-
54:47
إِ
نّ َٱ لْمُجْ رِمِينَ فِى ضَلَٰ لٍ ۢو َسُعُرٍۢ ٤٧Inna almujrimeena fee dalalinwasuAAur
Indeed the guilty are steeped in error and madness.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness..Saheeh International
-
54:48
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى
ٱ ل نّ َارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ٤٨Yawma yushaboona fee annariAAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqar
The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire, [it will be said to them,] ‘Taste the touch of hell!’Ali Quli Qarai
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar."Saheeh International
-
54:49
إِ
نّ َا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْ نَٰ هُ بِقَدَرٍۢ ٤٩Inna kulla shay-in khalaqnahubiqadar
Indeed We have created everything in a measure,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.Saheeh International
-
54:50
وَم
َآ أَمْرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰ حِدَةٌ ۭك َلَمْحٍۭ ب ِٱ لْبَصَرِ ٥٠Wama amruna illa wahidatunkalamhin bilbasar
and Our command is but a single [word], like the twinkling of an eye.Ali Quli Qarai
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye.Saheeh International
-
54:51
وَلَقَ
دْ أَهْلَكْنَآ أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن م ُّدَّكِرٍۢ ٥١Walaqad ahlakna ashyaAAakumfahal min muddakir
Certainly We have destroyed your likes. So is there anyone who will be admonished?Ali Quli Qarai
And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember?Saheeh International

54:52
وَكُلُّ ش
َىْءٍ ۢف َعَلُوهُ فِىٱ ل زُّبُرِ ٥٢Wakullu shay-in faAAaloohu fee azzubur
Everything they have done is in the books,Ali Quli Qarai
And everything they did is in written records.Saheeh International
-
54:53
وَكُلُّ صَغِي
رٍ ۢو َكَبِيرٍ ۢم ُّسْتَطَرٌ ٥٣Wakullu sagheerin wakabeerin mustatar
and everything big and small is committed to writing.Ali Quli Qarai
And every small and great [thing] is inscribed.Saheeh International
-
54:54
إِ
نّ َٱ لْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنّ َٰ تٍ ۢو َنَهَرٍۢ ٥٤Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwanahar
Indeed the Godwary will be amid gardens and streams,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,Saheeh International

54:55
فِى مَ
قْ عَدِ صِدْ قٍ عِند َ مَلِيكٍ ۢم ُّقْ تَدِرٍۭ ٥٥Fee maqAAadi sidqin AAinda maleekinmuqtadir
in the abode of truthfulness with an omnipotent King.Ali Quli Qarai
In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.Saheeh International
