Al-Haqqah · The Reality

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. 69:1

    ٱلْحَآقَّةُ ۝١

    QaraiThe Besieger!

  2. 69:2

    مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ ۝٢

    QaraiWhat is the Besieger?!

  3. 69:3

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ ۝٣

    QaraiWhat will show you what is the Besieger?!

  4. 69:4

    كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ ۝٤

    QaraiThamudand ‘Ad denied the Cataclysm.

  5. 69:5

    فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ ۝٥

    QaraiAs for Thamud, they were destroyed by the Cry.

  6. 69:6

    وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ ۝٦

    QaraiAnd as for ‘Ad, they were destroyed by a fierce icy gale,

  7. 69:7

    سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ ۝٧

    Qaraiwhich He clamped on them for seven gruelling nights and eight days, so that you could see the people there lying about prostrate as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.

  8. 69:8

    فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٍ ۝٨

    QaraiSo do you see any remaining trace of them?

  9. 69:9

    وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ ۝٩

    QaraiThen Pharaoh and those who were before him, and the towns that were overturned, brought about iniquity.

  10. 69:10

    فَعَصَوْا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً ۝١٠

    QaraiThey disobeyed the apostle of their Lord, so He seized them with a terrible seizing.

  11. 69:11

    إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلْمَآءُ حَمَلْنَٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْجَارِيَةِ ۝١١

    QaraiIndeed when the Flood rose high, We carried you in a floating ark,

  12. 69:12

    لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌ وَٰعِيَةٌ ۝١٢

    Qaraithat We might make it a reminder for you, and that receptive ears might remember it.

  13. 69:13

    فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ ۝١٣

    QaraiWhen the Trumpet is blown with a single blast

  14. 69:14

    وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَٰحِدَةً ۝١٤

    Qaraiand the earth and the mountains are lifted and levelled with a single levelling,

  15. 69:15

    فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ ۝١٥

    Qaraithen, on that day, will the Imminent [Hour] befall

  16. 69:16

    وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ ۝١٦

    Qaraiand the sky will be split open—for it will be frail on that day—

  17. 69:17

    وَٱلْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرْجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَٰنِيَةٌ ۝١٧

    Qaraiwith the angels all over it, and the Throne of your Lord will be borne that day by eight [angels].

  18. 69:18

    يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ ۝١٨

    QaraiThat day you will be presented [before your Lord]: none of your secrets will remain hidden.

  19. 69:19

    فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقْرَءُوا۟ كِتَٰبِيَهْ ۝١٩

    QaraiAs for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say, ‘Here, take and read my book!

  20. 69:20

    إِنِّى ظَنَنتُ أَنِّى مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ ۝٢٠

    QaraiIndeed I knew that I will encounter my account [of deeds].’

  21. 69:21

    فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ۝٢١

    QaraiSo he will have a pleasant life,

  22. 69:22

    فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ ۝٢٢

    Qaraiin an elevated garden,

  23. 69:23

    قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ ۝٢٣

    Qaraiwhose clusters [of fruits] will be within easy reach.

  24. 69:24

    كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيًٓٔۢا بِمَآ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْخَالِيَةِ ۝٢٤

    Qarai[He will be told]: ‘Enjoy your food and drink, for what you had sent in advance in past days [for your future life].’

  25. 69:25

    وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهْ ۝٢٥

    QaraiBut as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he will say, ‘I wish I had not been given my book,

  26. 69:26

    وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ ۝٢٦

    Qarainor had I ever known what my account is!

  27. 69:27

    يَٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ ۝٢٧

    QaraiI wish death had been the end of it all!

  28. 69:28

    مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ ۜ ۝٢٨

    QaraiMy wealth did not avail me.

  29. 69:29

    هَلَكَ عَنِّى سُلْطَٰنِيَهْ ۝٢٩

    QaraiMy authority has left me.’

  30. 69:30

    خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ ۝٣٠

    Qarai[The angels will be told:] ‘Seize him, and fetter him!

  31. 69:31

    ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ ۝٣١

    QaraiThen put him into hell.

  32. 69:32

    ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ ۝٣٢

    QaraiThen bind him in a chain, seventy cubits in length.

  33. 69:33

    إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٣٣

    QaraiIndeed he had no faith in Allah, the All-supreme,

  34. 69:34

    وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ۝٣٤

    Qaraiand he did not urge the feeding of the needy,

  35. 69:35

    فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌ ۝٣٥

    Qaraiso he has no friend here today,

  36. 69:36

    وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ ۝٣٦

    Qarainor any food except pus,

  37. 69:37

    لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَٰطُِٔونَ ۝٣٧

    Qaraiwhich no one shall eat except the iniquitous.’

  38. 69:38

    فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ ۝٣٨

    QaraiI swear by what you see

  39. 69:39

    وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ۝٣٩

    Qaraiand what you do not see:

  40. 69:40

    إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ ۝٤٠

    Qaraiit is indeed the speech of a noble apostle

  41. 69:41

    وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ ۝٤١

    Qaraiand it is not the speech of a poet. Little is the faith that you have!

  42. 69:42

    وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٢

    QaraiNor is it the speech of a soothsayer. Little is the admonition that you take!

  43. 69:43

    تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٤٣

    QaraiGradually sent down from the Lord of all the worlds.

  44. 69:44

    وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ ۝٤٤

    QaraiHad he faked any sayings in Our name,

  45. 69:45

    لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٤٥

    QaraiWe would have surely seized him by the right hand

  46. 69:46

    ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ ۝٤٦

    Qaraiand then cut off his aorta,

  47. 69:47

    فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَٰجِزِينَ ۝٤٧

    Qaraiand none of you could have held Us off from him.

  48. 69:48

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ۝٤٨

    QaraiIndeed it is a reminder for the Godwary.

  49. 69:49

    وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ ۝٤٩

    QaraiIndeed We know that there are some among you who deny [it].

  50. 69:50

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ۝٥٠

    QaraiAnd indeed it will be a [matter of] regret for the faithless.

  51. 69:51

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ ۝٥١

    QaraiIt is indeed certain truth.

  52. 69:52

    فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٥٢

    QaraiSo celebrate the Name of your Lord, the All-supreme.
