بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 71:1

   إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ۝١

   QaraiIndeed We sent Noah to his people, [saying,] ‘Warn your people before a painful punishment overtakes them.’

2. 71:2

   قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ۝٢

   QaraiHe said, ‘O my people! Indeed, I am a manifest warner to you.

3. 71:3

   أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ۝٣

   QaraiWorship Allah and be wary of Him, and obey me,

4. 71:4

   يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝٤

   Qaraithat He may forgive you some of your sins and respite you until a specified time. Indeed when Allah’s [appointed] time comes, it cannot be deferred, if you know.’

5. 71:5

   قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا ۝٥

   QaraiHe said, ‘My Lord! Indeed, I have summoned my people night and day

6. 71:6

   فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا ۝٦

   Qaraibut my summons only increases their evasion.

7. 71:7

   وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا ۝٧

   QaraiIndeed whenever I have summoned them, so that You might forgive them, they would put their fingers into their ears and draw their cloaks over their heads, and they were persistent [in their unfaith], and disdainful in [their] arrogance.

8. 71:8

   ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا ۝٨

   QaraiAgain I summoned them aloud,

9. 71:9

   ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا ۝٩

   Qaraiand again appealed to them publicly and confided with them privately,

10. 71:10

    فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ۝١٠

    Qaraitelling [them]: ‘‘Plead to your Lord for forgiveness. Indeed, He is all-forgiving.

11. 71:11

    يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا ۝١١

    QaraiHe will send for you abundant rains from the sky,

12. 71:12

    وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًا ۝١٢

    Qaraiand aid you with wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and provide you with streams.

13. 71:13

    مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا ۝١٣

    QaraiWhat is the matter with you that you do not look upon Allah with veneration,

14. 71:14

    وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا ۝١٤

    Qaraithough He has created you in [various] stages?

15. 71:15

    أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا ۝١٥

    QaraiHave you not seen how Allah has created the seven heavens in layers,

16. 71:16

    وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا ۝١٦

    Qaraiand has made therein the moon for a light and the sun for a lamp?

17. 71:17

    وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا ۝١٧

    QaraiAllah made you grow from the earth, with a [vegetable] growth.

18. 71:18

    ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا ۝١٨

    QaraiThen He makes you return to it, and He will bring you forth [without fail].

19. 71:19

    وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا ۝١٩

    QaraiAllah has made the earth a vast expanse for you

20. 71:20

    لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا ۝٢٠

    Qaraiso that you may travel over its spacious ways.’’ ’

21. 71:21

    قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ۝٢١

    QaraiNoah said, ‘My Lord! They have disobeyed me, following someone whose wealth and children only add to his loss,

22. 71:22

    وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا ۝٢٢

    Qaraiand they have devised an outrageous plot.

23. 71:23

    وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا ۝٢٣

    QaraiThey say, ‘‘Do not abandon your gods. Do not abandon Wadd, nor Suwa, nor Yaghuth, Ya‘uq and Nasr,’’

24. 71:24

    وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَٰلًا ۝٢٤

    Qaraiand already they have led many astray. Do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but error.’

25. 71:25

    مِّمَّا خَطِيَٰٓٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا ۝٢٥

    QaraiThey were drowned because of their iniquities, then made to enter a Fire, and they did not find any helpers for themselves besides Allah.

26. 71:26

    وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا ۝٢٦

    QaraiAnd Noah said, ‘My Lord! ‘Do not leave on the earth any inhabitant from among the faithless.

27. 71:27

    إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا ۝٢٧

    QaraiIf You leave them, they will lead astray Your servants, and will beget none except vicious ingrates.

28. 71:28

    رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا ۝٢٨

    QaraiMy Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house in faith, and the faithful men and women, and do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but ruin.’
