بِسْمِ
-
75:1
ل
َآ أُقْ سِمُ بِيَوْمِٱ لْقِيَٰ مَةِ ١La oqsimu biyawmi alqiyamat
I swear by the Day of Resurrection!Ali Quli Qarai
I swear by the Day of ResurrectionSaheeh International
-
75:2
وَل
َآ أُقْ سِمُ بِٱ ل نّ َفْسِٱ ل لَّوَّامَةِ ٢Wala oqsimu binnafsi allawwamat
And I swear by the self-critical soul!Ali Quli Qarai
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].Saheeh International
-
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ أَلَّن ن َّجْ مَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ ٣Ayahsabu al-insanu allannajmaAAa AAithamah
Does man suppose that We will not put together his bones [at resurrection]?Ali Quli Qarai
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?Saheeh International
-
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَ
ٰ دِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن ن ُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ ٤Bala qadireena AAala annusawwiya bananah
Yes indeed, We are able to [re]shape [even] his fingertips!Ali Quli Qarai
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.Saheeh International
-
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ ٥Bal yureedu al-insanu liyafjura amamah
Indeed, man desires to go on living viciously.Ali Quli Qarai
But man desires to continue in sin.Saheeh International
-
75:6
يَسَْٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ
ٱ لْقِيَٰ مَةِ ٦Yas-alu ayyana yawmu alqiyama
He asks, ‘When will be this “day of resurrection”?!’Ali Quli Qarai
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"Saheeh International
-
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ
ٱ لْبَصَرُ ٧Fa-itha bariqa albasar
But when the eyes are dazzled,Ali Quli Qarai
So when vision is dazzledSaheeh International
-
75:8
وَخَسَفَ
ٱ لْقَمَرُ ٨Wakhasafa alqamar
the moon is eclipsed,Ali Quli Qarai
And the moon darkensSaheeh International
-
75:9
وَجُمِعَ
ٱ ل شَّمْسُ وَٱ لْقَمَرُ ٩WajumiAAa ashshamsu walqamar
and the sun and the moon are brought together,Ali Quli Qarai
And the sun and the moon are joined,Saheeh International
-
75:10
يَقُولُ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَٱ لْمَفَرُّ ١٠Yaqoolu al-insanu yawma-ithinayna almafar
that day man will say, ‘Where is the escape [from this day]?’Ali Quli Qarai
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"Saheeh International
-
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ ١١
Kalla la wazar
No indeed! There will be no refuge!Ali Quli Qarai
No! There is no refuge.Saheeh International
-
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ
ٱ لْمُسْتَقَرُّ ١٢Ila rabbika yawma-ithinalmustaqar
That day the [final] goal will be toward your Lord.Ali Quli Qarai
To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.Saheeh International
-
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُ
ا۟ ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ ب ِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ ١٣Yunabbao al-insanu yawma-ithinbima qaddama waakhkhar
That day man will be informed about what [works] he had sent ahead [to the scene of judgement] and [the legacy that he had] left behind.Ali Quli Qarai
Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.Saheeh International
-
75:14
بَلِ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ ١٤Bali al-insanu AAala nafsihibaseera
Indeed, man is a witness to himself,Ali Quli Qarai
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,Saheeh International
-
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ ١٥
Walaw alqa maAAatheerah
though he should offer excuses [to justify his failings].Ali Quli Qarai
Even if he presents his excuses.Saheeh International
-
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِه
ِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ ١٦La tuharrik bihi lisanakalitaAAjala bih
Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it.Ali Quli Qarai
Move not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān].Saheeh International
-
75:17
إِ
نّ َ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ ١٧Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waqur-anah
Indeed it is up to Us to put it together and to recite it.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.Saheeh International
-
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَ
ٰ هُ فَٱ تَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ ١٨Fa-itha qara/nahu fattabiAAqur-anah
And when We have recited it, follow its recitation.Ali Quli Qarai
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.Saheeh International
-
75:19
ثُ
مّ َ إِنّ َ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ ١٩Thumma inna AAalayna bayanah
Then, its exposition [also] lies with Us.Ali Quli Qarai
Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].Saheeh International
-
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ
ٱ لْعَاجِلَةَ ٢٠Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajila
No! Indeed, you love this transitory lifeAli Quli Qarai
No! But you [i.e., mankind] love the immediateSaheeh International
-
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ
ٱ لَْٔاخِرَةَ ٢١Watatharoona al-akhira
and forsake the Hereafter.Ali Quli Qarai
And leave [i.e., neglect] the Hereafter.Saheeh International
-
75:22
وُجُو
هٌ ۭي َوْمَئِذٍ ۢن َّاضِرَةٌ ٢٢Wujoohun yawma-ithin nadira
Some faces will be fresh on that day,Ali Quli Qarai
[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,Saheeh International
-
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ ٢٣
Ila rabbiha nathira
looking to their Lord,Ali Quli Qarai
Looking at their Lord.Saheeh International
-
75:24
وَوُجُو
هٌ ۭي َوْمَئِذٍۭ ب َاسِرَةٌۭ ٢٤Wawujoohun yawma-ithin basira
and some faces will be scowling on that day,Ali Quli Qarai
And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,Saheeh International
-
75:25
تَظُ
نّ ُ أَن ي ُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ ٢٥Tathunnu an yufAAala bihafaqira
knowing that they will be dealt out a punishment breaking the spine.Ali Quli Qarai
Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.Saheeh International
-
75:26
كَلّ
َآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِٱ ل تَّرَاقِىَ ٢٦Kalla itha balaghati attaraqiy
No indeed! When it reaches up to the collar bonesAli Quli Qarai
No! When it [i.e., the soul] has reached the collar bonesSaheeh International
-
75:27
وَقِيلَ م
َن ْۜ ر َا ق ٍۢ ٢٧Waqeela man raq
and it is said, ‘Who will take him up?’Ali Quli Qarai
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"Saheeh International
-
75:28
وَظَ
نّ َ أَنّ َهُٱ لْفِرَا ق ُ ٢٨Wathanna annahu alfiraq
and he knows that it is the [time of] parting,Ali Quli Qarai
And he [i.e., the dying one] is certain that it is the [time of] separationSaheeh International
-
75:29
وَ
ٱ لْتَفَّتِٱ ل سَّاقُ بِٱ ل سَّا ق ِ ٢٩Waltaffati assaqu bilssaq
and each shank clasps the other shank,Ali Quli Qarai
And the leg is wound about the leg,Saheeh International
-
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ
ٱ لْمَسَا ق ُ ٣٠Ila rabbika yawma-ithin almasaq
that day he shall be driven toward your Lord.Ali Quli Qarai
To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.Saheeh International
-
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ ٣١
Fala saddaqa wala salla
He neither confirmed [the messages of Allah], nor did he pray,Ali Quli Qarai
And he [i.e., the disbeliever] had not believed, nor had he prayed.Saheeh International
-
75:32
وَلَ
ٰ كِن ك َذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ٣٢Walakin kaththaba watawalla
but denied [them] and turned away,Ali Quli Qarai
But [instead], he denied and turned away.Saheeh International
-
75:33
ثُ
مّ َ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ ٣٣Thumma thahaba ila ahlihiyatamatta
and went back swaggering to his family.Ali Quli Qarai
And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].Saheeh International
-
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ ٣٤
Awla laka faawla
So, woe to you! Woe to you!Ali Quli Qarai
Woe to you, and woe!Saheeh International
-
75:35
ثُ
مّ َ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ ٣٥Thumma awla laka faawla
Again, woe to you! Woe to you!Ali Quli Qarai
Then woe to you, and woe!Saheeh International
-
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ
ٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ أَن ي ُتْرَكَ سُدًى ٣٦Ayahsabu al-insanu an yutrakasuda
Does man suppose that he has been abandoned to futility?Ali Quli Qarai
Does man think that he will be left neglected?Saheeh International
-
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُ
طْ فَةً ۭم ِّن م َّنِىٍّ ۢي ُمْنَىٰ ٣٧Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumna
Was he not a drop of emitted semen,Ali Quli Qarai
Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?Saheeh International
-
75:38
ثُ
مّ َ كَانَ عَلَقَةً ۭف َخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ٣٨Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqafasawwa
and then a clinging mass? Whereat He created and proportioned [him],Ali Quli Qarai
Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allāh] created [his form] and proportioned [him]Saheeh International
-
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ
ٱ ل زَّوْجَيْنِٱ ل ذَّكَرَ وَٱ لْأُنث َىٰٓ ٣٩FajaAAala minhu azzawjayni aththakarawal-ontha
and made of him the two sexes, male and female.Ali Quli Qarai
And made of him two mates, the male and the female.Saheeh International
-
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَ
ٰ لِكَ بِقَٰ دِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن ي ُحِْۧىَٱ لْمَوْتَىٰ ٤٠Alaysa thalika biqadirin AAalaan yuhyiya almawta
Is not [someone like] that able to revive the dead?Ali Quli Qarai
Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?Saheeh International
