بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 76:1

   هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَئًْا مَّذْكُورًا ۝١

   QaraiHas there been a period of time for man when he was not anything worthy of mention?

2. 76:2

   إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا ۝٢

   QaraiIndeed We created man from the drop of a mixed fluid so that We may put him to test, so We endowed with hearing and sight.

3. 76:3

   إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا ۝٣

   QaraiIndeed We have guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful.

4. 76:4

   إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا ۝٤

   QaraiIndeed for the faithless We have prepared chains, iron collars, and a blaze.

5. 76:5

   إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ۝٥

   QaraiIndeed the pious will drink from a cup seasoned with Kafur,

6. 76:6

   عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا ۝٦

   Qaraia spring where Allah’s servants will drink, making it gush forth as they please.

7. 76:7

   يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا ۝٧

   QaraiThey fulfill their vows and fear a day whose ill will be widespread.

8. 76:8

   وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا ۝٨

   QaraiFor the love of Him, they feed the needy, the orphan and the prisoner,

9. 76:9

   إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا ۝٩

   Qarai[saying,] ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire no reward from you, nor thanks.

10. 76:10

    إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا ۝١٠

    QaraiIndeed we fear a frowning and fateful day from our Lord.’

11. 76:11

    فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا ۝١١

    QaraiSo Allah saved them from that day’s ills and graced them with freshness [on this faces] and joy [in their hearts].

12. 76:12

    وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا ۝١٢

    QaraiHe rewarded them for their patience with a garden and [garments of] silk,

13. 76:13

    مُّتَّكِِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا ۝١٣

    Qaraireclining therein on couches, without facing any [scorching] sun, or [biting] cold.

14. 76:14

    وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا ۝١٤

    QaraiIts shades will be close over them and its clusters [of fruits] will be hanging low.

15. 76:15

    وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بَِٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠ ۝١٥

    QaraiThey will be served around with vessels of silver and goblets of crystal

16. 76:16

    قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا ۝١٦

    Qarai—crystal of silver— [from] which they will dispense in a precise measure.

17. 76:17

    وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا ۝١٧

    QaraiThey will be served therein with a cup of a drink seasoned with Zanjabeel,

18. 76:18

    عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا ۝١٨

    Qaraifrom a spring in it named Salsabeel.

19. 76:19

    ۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا ۝١٩

    QaraiThey will be waited upon by immortal youths, whom, were you to see them, you will suppose them to be scattered pearls.

20. 76:20

    وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا ۝٢٠

    QaraiAs you look on, you will see there bliss and a great kingdom.

21. 76:21

    عَٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا ۝٢١

    QaraiUpon them will be cloaks of green silk and brocade and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them to drink a pure drink.

22. 76:22

    إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا ۝٢٢

    Qarai[They will be told]: ‘This is your reward, and your efforts have been well-appreciated.’

23. 76:23

    إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا ۝٢٣

    QaraiIndeed We have sent down to you the Quran in a gradual descent.

24. 76:24

    فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا ۝٢٤

    QaraiSo submit patiently to the judgement of your Lord and do not obey any sinner or ingrate from among them,

25. 76:25

    وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ۝٢٥

    Qaraiand celebrate the Name of your Lord morning and evening,

26. 76:26

    وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا ۝٢٦

    Qaraiand worship Him for a watch of the night and glorify Him the night long.

27. 76:27

    إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا ۝٢٧

    QaraiIndeed they love this transitory life, and disregard a heavy day that is ahead of them.

28. 76:28

    نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا ۝٢٨

    QaraiWe created them and strengthened their joints, and We will replace them with others like them whenever We like.

29. 76:29

    إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا ۝٢٩

    QaraiThis is indeed a reminder. So let anyone who wishes take the way toward his Lord.

30. 76:30

    وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ۝٣٠

    QaraiBut you will not wish unless it is willed by Allah. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.

31. 76:31

    يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا ۝٣١

    QaraiHe admits whomever He wishes into His mercy, and He has prepared a painful punishment for the wrongdoers.
