النبإ

An-Naba · The Tidings

40 verses · Revealed in Makkah

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 78:1

   عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ۝١

   QaraiWhat is it that they are questioning each other about?!

2. 78:2

   عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٢

   Qarai[Is it] about the Great Tiding,

3. 78:3

   ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ ۝٣

   Qaraithe one about which they differ?

4. 78:4

   كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ۝٤

   QaraiNo indeed! Soon they will know!

5. 78:5

   ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ۝٥

   QaraiNo indeed! Soon they will know for once again!

6. 78:6

   أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا ۝٦

   QaraiDid We not make the earth a resting place?

7. 78:7

   وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا ۝٧

   Qaraiand the mountains stakes?

8. 78:8

   وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ۝٨

   Qaraiand create you in pairs?

9. 78:9

   وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ۝٩

   Qaraiand make your sleep for rest?

10. 78:10

    وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ۝١٠

    Qaraiand make the night a covering?

11. 78:11

    وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا ۝١١

    Qaraiand make the day for livelihood?

12. 78:12

    وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا ۝١٢

    Qaraiand build above you the seven mighty heavens?

13. 78:13

    وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا ۝١٣

    Qaraiand make [the sun for] a radiant lamp?

14. 78:14

    وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا ۝١٤

    Qaraiand send down water pouring from the rain-clouds,

15. 78:15

    لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا ۝١٥

    Qaraithat We may bring forth with it grains and plants,

16. 78:16

    وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا ۝١٦

    Qaraiand luxuriant gardens?

17. 78:17

    إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًا ۝١٧

    QaraiIndeed the Day of Judgement is the tryst,

18. 78:18

    يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا ۝١٨

    Qaraithe day the Trumpet will be blown, and you will come in groups,

19. 78:19

    وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا ۝١٩

    Qaraiand the sky will be opened and become gates,

20. 78:20

    وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ۝٢٠

    Qaraiand the mountains will be set moving and become a mirage.

21. 78:21

    إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا ۝٢١

    QaraiIndeed hell is in ambush,

22. 78:22

    لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مََٔابًا ۝٢٢

    Qaraia resort for the rebels,

23. 78:23

    لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا ۝٢٣

    Qaraito reside therein for ages,

24. 78:24

    لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا ۝٢٤

    Qaraitasting in it neither any coolness nor drink,

25. 78:25

    إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا ۝٢٥

    Qaraiexcept boiling water and pus,

26. 78:26

    جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا ۝٢٦

    Qaraia fitting requital.

27. 78:27

    إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا ۝٢٧

    QaraiIndeed they did not expect any reckoning,

28. 78:28

    وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بَِٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا ۝٢٨

    Qaraiand they denied Our signs mendaciously,

29. 78:29

    وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًا ۝٢٩

    Qaraiand We have figured everything in a Book.

30. 78:30

    فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ۝٣٠

    QaraiSo [now] taste! We shall increase you in nothing but punishment!

31. 78:31

    إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا ۝٣١

    QaraiIndeed a triumph awaits the Godwary:

32. 78:32

    حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًا ۝٣٢

    Qaraigardens and vineyards,

33. 78:33

    وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا ۝٣٣

    Qaraiand buxom maidens of a like age,

34. 78:34

    وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا ۝٣٤

    Qaraiand brimming cups.

35. 78:35

    لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا ۝٣٥

    QaraiTherein they shall hear neither vain talk nor lies

36. 78:36

    جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا ۝٣٦

    Qarai—a reward and a sufficing bounty from your Lord,

37. 78:37

    رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ۝٣٧

    Qaraithe All-beneficent, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. They will not be able to address Him

38. 78:38

    يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ۝٣٨

    Qaraion the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in an array: none shall speak except someone who is permitted by the All-beneficent and says what is rightful.

39. 78:39

    ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مََٔابًا ۝٣٩

    QaraiThat day is true for certain. So let anyone who wishes take resort with his Lord.

40. 78:40

    إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا ۝٤٠

    QaraiIndeed We have warned you of a punishment near at hand—the day when a person will observe what his hands have sent ahead and the faithless one will say, ‘I wish I were dust!’
