بِسْمِ
-
82:1
إِذَا
ٱ ل سَّمَ آءُٱ نف َطَرَتْ ١Itha assamao infatarat
When the sky is rent apart,Ali Quli Qarai
When the sky breaks apartSaheeh International
-
82:2
وَإِذَا
ٱ لْكَوَاكِبُٱ نت َثَرَتْ ٢Wa-itha alkawakibu intatharat
when the stars are scattered,Ali Quli Qarai
And when the stars fall, scattering,Saheeh International
-
82:3
وَإِذَا
ٱ لْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ ٣Wa-itha albiharu fujjirat
when the seas are merged,Ali Quli Qarai
And when the seas are eruptedSaheeh International
-
82:4
وَإِذَا
ٱ لْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ ٤Wa-itha alqubooru buAAthirat
when the graves are overturned,Ali Quli Qarai
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],Saheeh International
-
82:5
عَلِمَتْ نَفْ
سٌ ۭم َّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ ٥AAalimat nafsun ma qaddamatwaakhkharat
then a soul shall know what it has sent ahead and left behind.Ali Quli Qarai
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.Saheeh International

82:6
يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَٱ لْكَرِي مِ ٦Ya ayyuha al-insanu magharraka birabbika alkareem
O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord,Ali Quli Qarai
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,Saheeh International
-
82:7
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّ
ىٰ كَ فَعَدَلَكَ ٧Allathee khalaqaka fasawwakafaAAadalak
who created you and proportioned you, and gave you an upright nature,Ali Quli Qarai
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?Saheeh International

82:8
ف
ِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ ۢم َّا شَا ٓءَ رَكَّبَكَ ٨Fee ayyi sooratin ma shaarakkabak
and composed you in any form that He wished?Ali Quli Qarai
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.Saheeh International
-
82:9
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِ
ٱ ل دِّي نِ ٩Kalla bal tukaththiboona biddeen
No! Indeed, you deny the Retribution.Ali Quli Qarai
No! But you deny the Recompense.Saheeh International
-
82:10
وَإِ
نّ َ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰ فِظِي نَ ١٠Wa-inna AAalaykum lahafitheen
Indeed, there are over you watchers,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,Saheeh International
-
82:11
كِرَا
مً ۭا ك َٰ تِبِي نَ ١١Kiraman katibeen
noble writers,Ali Quli Qarai
Noble and recording;Saheeh International
-
82:12
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَل
ُو نَ ١٢YaAAlamoona ma tafAAaloon
who know whatever you do.Ali Quli Qarai
They know whatever you do.Saheeh International
-
82:13
إِ
نّ َٱ لْأَبْ رَارَ لَفِى نَعِي مٍۢ ١٣Inna al-abrara lafee naAAeem
Indeed the pious shall be amid bliss,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,Saheeh International
-
82:14
وَإِ
نّ َٱ لْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِي مٍۢ ١٤Wa-inna alfujjara lafee jaheem
and indeed the vicious shall be in hell,Ali Quli Qarai
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.Saheeh International
-
82:15
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ
ٱ ل دِّي نِ ١٥Yaslawnaha yawma addeen
entering it on the Day of Retribution,Ali Quli Qarai
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,Saheeh International
-
82:16
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغ
َا ٓئِبِي نَ ١٦Wama hum AAanha bigha-ibeen
and they shall not be absent from it.Ali Quli Qarai
And never therefrom will they be absent.Saheeh International
-
82:17
وَم
َآ أَدْ رَىٰ كَ مَا يَوْمُٱ ل دِّي نِ ١٧Wama adraka ma yawmu addeeni
And what will show you what is the Day of Retribution?Ali Quli Qarai
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?Saheeh International

82:18
ثُ
مّ َ مَآ أَدْ رَىٰ كَ مَا يَوْمُٱ ل دِّي نِ ١٨Thumma ma adraka mayawmu addeen
Again, what will show you what is the Day of Retribution?Ali Quli Qarai
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?Saheeh International

82:19
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْ
سٌ ۭل ِّنَفْسٍ ۢش َئًْ ۭا ۖ و َٱ لْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ۢل ِّلَّهِ ١٩Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsinshay-an wal-amru yawma-ithin lillah
It is a day when no soul will be of any avail to another soul and all command that day will belong to Allah.Ali Quli Qarai
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allāh.Saheeh International
