بِسْمِ
-
84:1
إِذَا
ٱ ل سَّمَا ٓءُٱ نش َقَّتْ ١Itha assamao inshaqqat
When the sky is split openAli Quli Qarai
When the sky has split [open]Saheeh International
-
84:2
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ٢
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
and gives ear to its Lord as it should.Ali Quli Qarai
And has listened [i.e., responded] to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]Saheeh International
-
84:3
وَإِذَا
ٱ لْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ ٣Wa-itha al-ardu muddat
When the earth is spread outAli Quli Qarai
And when the earth has been extendedSaheeh International
-
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ ٤
Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat
and throws out what is in it, emptying itself,Ali Quli Qarai
And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]Saheeh International
-
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ٥
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
and gives ear to its Lord as it should.Ali Quli Qarai
And has listened [i.e., responded] to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] –Saheeh International
-
84:6
يَ
ٰٓ أَيُّهَاٱ لْإِنس َٰ نُ إِنّ َكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْ حً ۭا ف َمُلَٰ قِي هِ ٦Ya ayyuha al-insanuinnaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhanfamulaqeeh
O man! You are labouring toward your Lord laboriously, and you will encounter Him.Ali Quli Qarai
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.Saheeh International
-
84:7
فَأَ
مّ َا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰ بَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ٧Faama man ootiya kitabahubiyameenih
Then, as for him who is given his record [of deeds] in his right hand,Ali Quli Qarai
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,Saheeh International
-
84:8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَا
بً ۭا ي َسِيرًۭا ٨Fasawfa yuhasabu hisabanyaseera
he will receive an easy reckoning,Ali Quli Qarai
He will be judged with an easy accountSaheeh International
-
84:9
وَيَ
نق َلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًۭا ٩Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masroora
and he will return to his folks joyfully.Ali Quli Qarai
And return to his people in happiness.Saheeh International

84:10
وَأَ
مّ َا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰ بَهُۥ وَرَا ٓءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ ١٠Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraathahrih
But as for him who is given his record from behind his back,Ali Quli Qarai
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,Saheeh International
-
84:11
فَسَوْفَ يَ
دْ عُوا۟ ثُبُورًۭا ١١Fasawfa yadAAoo thuboora
he will pray for annihilationAli Quli Qarai
He will cry out for destructionSaheeh International
-
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا ١٢
Wayasla saAAeera
and enter the Blaze.Ali Quli Qarai
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.Saheeh International
-
84:13
إِ
نّ َهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا ١٣Innahu kana fee ahlihi masroora
Indeed he used to be joyful among his folk,Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;Saheeh International
-
84:14
إِ
نّ َهُۥ ظَنّ َ أَن ل َّن ي َحُو رَ ١٤Innahu thanna an lan yahoor
and he thought that he would never return.Ali Quli Qarai
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allāh].Saheeh International
-
84:15
بَلَ
ىٰٓ إِنّ َ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًۭا ١٥Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseera
Yes, his Lord had been watching him.Ali Quli Qarai
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever, of him, Seeing.Saheeh International
-
84:16
فَل
َآ أُقْ سِمُ بِٱ ل شَّفَق ِ ١٦Fala oqsimu bishshafaq
I swear by the evening glow,Ali Quli Qarai
So I swear by the twilight glowSaheeh International
-
84:17
وَ
ٱ لَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَق َ ١٧Wallayli wama wasaq
by the night and what it is fraught with,Ali Quli Qarai
And [by] the night and what it envelopsSaheeh International
-
84:18
وَ
ٱ لْقَمَرِ إِذَاٱ تَّسَق َ ١٨Walqamari itha ittasaq
by the moon when it blooms full:Ali Quli Qarai
And [by] the moon when it becomes fullSaheeh International
-
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُ
نّ َ طَبَقًا عَن ط َبَق ٍۢ ١٩Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaq
you will surely fare from stage to stage.Ali Quli Qarai
[That] you will surely embark upon [i.e., experience] state after state.Saheeh International
-
84:20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِن
ُو نَ ٢٠Fama lahum la yu/minoon
What is the matter with them that they will not believe,Ali Quli Qarai
So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,Saheeh International
-
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ
ٱ لْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُو نَ ۩ ٢١Wa-itha quri-a AAalayhimu alqur-anula yasjudoon
and will not prostrate when the Quran is recited to them?Ali Quli Qarai
And when the Qur’ān is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allāh]?Saheeh International
-
84:22
بَلِ
ٱ لَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُو نَ ٢٢Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboon
Indeed, the faithless impugn [the Apostle],Ali Quli Qarai
But those who have disbelieved deny,Saheeh International
-
84:23
وَ
ٱ للَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُو نَ ٢٣Wallahu aAAlamu bimayooAAoon
and Allah knows best what they keep to themselves.Ali Quli Qarai
And Allāh is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.Saheeh International
-
84:24
فَبَشِّرْه
ُم ب ِعَذَابٍ أَلِي مٍ ٢٤Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleem
So inform them of a painful punishment,Ali Quli Qarai
So give them tidings of a painful punishment,Saheeh International
-
84:25
إِلَّا
ٱ لَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱ ل صَّٰ لِحَٰ تِ لَهُمْ أَجْ رٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُو نٍۭ ٢٥Illa allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum ajrun ghayrumamnoon
excepting such as are faithful and do righteous deeds: for them there will be an everlasting reward.Ali Quli Qarai
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.Saheeh International
